The Empty promised Castiel sleep. An endless, peaceful slumber. So why are Cas's eyes open?

Time stamp for this one is way back in the 2005, right when the show started. It is a bit of a change in rolls and it is just something that crossed my mind and then a friend said I should post it, so here it is.

How dared the writers do that in Despair? Seriously, how? Cas deserves better. Dean deserves better. And if they have to take half a hour off from fighting Chuck, so be it. Sam and Jack are going to make sure Destiel happens. When 33% (soon 25%) of your team is near-insane with self-loathing, things never work out for the best anyway.

"The river shall end at the source." Sam and Dean try to figure out what that means.

Things are better after defeating Chuck, but Dean's subconscious is slow on the up-take.
