AUTHOR'S NOTE:

Hello my fans! I hope you all are having a fantastic day, night or whatever time you're reading this! I can't believe it's over a decade since A&A blessed out TV screens. I'm 25 and I still adore the show. It has gotten me through hell and back, and then some, multiple times.

I miss the show to death and I would give anything to have it back. A TV-PG or a TV-14 revival show of A&A would be a dream, like on Disney+ as Disney+ has less restrictions compared to Disney Channel.

In addition to adoring and loving A&A, I also love crime dramas, specifically Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (my mother got me into L&O: SVU) and Law & Order: Organized Crime. I have the best of both worlds between loving A&A and also loving more adult targeted shows. I even enjoy Riverdale to an extent lol.

Also, I'm gonna issue a trigger warning for this fic. There are themes of stalking, rape and sexual assault, and if that bothers you, you might not want to read this one.

Anyway, this Author's note has gone on long enough. Onto the story!

Ally Dawson brews a cup of tea while finishing up the last bit of work she has to do. Ally works as a journalist for People magazine. She loves her job, but working forty hours a week can kick your ass. At least she gets a dental plan, a medical plan, a free Spotify membership, an Audible membership, a 401K, and a vision plan. She hears her phone ping, as it's a text from her coworker and crush, Austin Moon.

"You ready to turn in that piece on influencer Ashleigh Rae?"

Ally texts him back saying,

"I guess. I'm nervous about what Terra will think, though."

Terra Barone is the office manager and Austin and Ally's boss. She makes over two hundred and fifty billion dollars a year, and according to Ally, is a walking definition of tough love. She cares about you, but you never want to piss her off. If you do, she'll chew you out, and then some.

"Terra will love your piece. She's high-maitenance sometimes, but you know she always had a soft spot for you."

"That's true. Thank you, Austin."

Ally went to high school with Austin. The two instantly blossomed a friendship when Ally got her first period during gym class in freshman year and most of the students were laughing at her and making fun of her and Austin stood up for her. The two had a strong friendship throughout high school and she secretly crushed on him. Ally then went to New York University and the two lost touch, but after Ally graduated after three years, the two reconnected and rekindled their friendship when he was working as a barista at a coffeehouse, and had a side job as a cover artist on YouTube (he blew up pretty fast and she subbed to him and watched his covers despite losing touch while she was in college. They made her feel close to him). Austin didn't even charge her because he remembered her and wanted to reconnect with her, not to mention when he wrote her name on the cup, he drew a little heart. Art was one of his hobbies and talents.

Ally never threw the cup away. It means so much to her and she holds it close to her heart- figuratively and literally. They both saw each other at their job interview for People magazine and drew even closer. She's been itching to tell him how she felt about him for years, but she never knew when the right time was.

Ally texts,

"I'm off to bed now. I'm exhausted."

He texts,

"Sweet dreams,"

with a bed emoji and a moon emoji. Ally reacts with a love to his text.

She takes her tea into bed with her, turns the light off, and is about to doze off when she feels a stone hit her on the shoulder. Ally lifts up her sleep mask and she sees a person who is short and overweight climb through her window in a ski mask and all dressed in black.

"Hello, Ally,"

he says in a southern United States accent.

"Who are you? How do you know who I am?"

He comes closer to her and he whispers aggressively,

"Don't worry about that. Just give me what I came for."

Ally feels her blood running cold. She stutters,

"W-W-W-What d-did you c-c-come h-here for?"

She turns on the light and leaves it a little dim, hoping to get a better look at him as it is practically pitch black in her room.

He pulls a condom out of his leather pants and also pulls a firearm from his pants, putting it toward her neck.

"You have a choice here. Tell me you want it, or I'll hit you where it hurts."

Feeling frightened, she tells him,

"D-d-don't hurt me, I'll do w-w-whatever you want."

He says,

"That's what I thought you'd pick."

He holds the condom out, and she takes her top off and he grips her and holds her down like a boa constrictor getting ready to constrict its prey, stripping her clothes off.

"Say nothing, or you know what will happen."

Ally has a million ideas about what this man attacking her might do to her if she squeals, but right now, she is too scared to disobey him. He rapes her for over thirty minutes and then he holds his gun to her head and whispers,

"I'll be back. Be ready."

Ally is trembling with terror as he drops an envelope out of his pocket, puts his gun in the pocket of his pants, and scampers out of her open window.

What just happened?

Ally thinks to herself as she is shaking profusely and looks at the envelope as if it's a ticking bomb. She discovers photos of herself in lingerie, naked, sleeping, and in the shower. She was raped, and her genital is aching and she feels blood in her vagina. Her wrists and ankles are covered in abrasions and her left thigh and left hip are bruised. She calls 911.

"911, what's your emergency?"

"I was raped. My vagina is killing me and I feel semen inside of me! Please, send someone to help!"

The lady on the phone says,

"Ma'am, name, and address of your current location?"

"Ally Dawson. My address is 2800 Southwest 27th Terrace, Apartment B3, 33133. Please, get here as soon as you can!"

"We'll be right there!"

Ally is laying in the ER bed, the IV beeping, feeling dirty. A female doctor comes in, saying,

"Hi, sweetie. What's going on?"

Ally says,

"I was raped."

"You were raped? What happened?"

"He climbed in through my window, held me down, penetrated me, sodomized me, made my vagina bleed, and gave me bruises on my thigh and hip."

"I'm sorry you had to deal with this, sweetheart. Is it OK with you that I give you a rape exam?"

"Sure. It's nothing like anything worse could happen."

Ally is still in the emergency room because they had to make her urinate in a cup, give her a blood test, and test her for STIs. Ally picks up her phone and calls Terra.

"Hello, Ally. How are you doing?"

Ally says,

"Not great. I think I'm going to have to take a sick day. I had an emergency last night."

Terra says,

"That's terrible! Take as much time as you need, Ally. Just call me when you feel better."

"Thank you, Terra. I'll email you the piece I wrote."

After Ally hangs up, the same doctor who performed her rape kit enters.

"No drugs or alcohol in your blood or urine, no DNA, but you've tested positive for chlamydia and there was spermicidal lubricant as well."

"It did hurt when I peed in the cup."

"I noticed blood and fluid in your urine as well, Ms. Dawson."

"That's partially because I'm on my period, and when he raped me, I was bleeding in my, er, uh, lady parts."

Ally has never dealt with anything like this. Who would stalk her and how did he get access to her house? Ally went home in a hospital gown because they had to hold her clothes to test for DNA and disinfect them. At her apartment, Ally throws on a PINK hoodie and a tank top and lounge shorts. All she wants to do is curl up in a ball and hide from the man who attacked her.

Her phone starts to ring, and it's a FaceTime request from her dad, Lester.

"Hi, aren't you a pretty girl? What's your name?"

Ally is pretty shocked.

"Dad, I'm your daughter!"

"Oh, that's right. You're my daughter! Abby, right? Wait, no, your name's not Abby. Is it Ashley? Amy? I think it's Amy."

Ally says,

"My name is Ally."

"Oh, that's right. I'm sorry, sweetheart. I forgot."

Ally says despondently,

"It's OK, Dad. You can't help it."

Ally's father had a drinking problem for years, and he drank so much that he left her to fend for herself. Her father and mother divorced when she was seven, and when she was ten, her mother obtained full custody of her because of her father's drinking and mental state. Her dad had a two strokes and he had been in a few car accidents. When she was eighteen, she decided she wanted to fix her relationship with her dad once and for all, and two years ago, he was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease.

By far the most difficult part, about her father's Alzheimer's diagnosis, is when Lester forgets Ally is his daughter and forgets her name. It is hard to watch him sundown as much as he does. He is living in a memory care facility and Ally trusts the people who work there, but her biggest fear is her dad dying. Ally decides that it's not worth telling him that she was attacked last night.

"How are you doing, Dad?"

"I'm fine. It's Bingo day at the nursing home."

"That sounds like fun."

"It is. How's your job?"

"I like journalism. It's a fun job. I work with Austin."

"Have you too started dating, maybe started having sex yet?"

Ally says,

"Dad! We're just friends! Our physical contact doesn't go beyond hugging or holding hands!"

"Remember to use a condom if you two decide to get frisky!"

Ally throws up in her mouth.

Ally then texts her mom saying,

"Mom, are you available to talk?"

Penny, her mother, texts her back,

"I'm always available for you, sweetheart. Are you OK?"

Ally texts her mother back,

"No, mom. I'm not OK. Last night, a man who has been stalking me came into my apartment and raped me. I tested positive for Chlamydia, too.

Penny texts her,

"I'm so sorry that that happened to you, sweetie. What happened was not your fault, and I'm sure you're very upset and shaken up by what happened."

Ally texts back,

"Yeah, I am. I just want to lie in bed and ignore the world right now."

Her mother texts her back,

"I can understand that. I don't blame you. Just know, that I'm always here for you if you ever need to talk about anything. I love you."

Ally texts,

"Love you too, Mom."
