A/N: I have no idea where I am going to take this story, I just thought of an idea and started writing. You can blame the inconsistency on my lack of ADHD medications. Enjoy!

"Are we just going to sit here in silence for the next 10 hours?" Elliot shifts his body weight against the passenger side door to get a better visual of Olivia.

"No," Olivia smirks softly and quickly glances over at Elliot. Olivia reaches her hand out and turns the 'volume' knob to the right, "I was planning on listening to the radio." Elliot grins as he watches Olivia check her rearview mirror. Reaching his hand out to change the station, Olivia swats his hand away, "Leave it."

Elliot playfully throws his hands in the air, "Fine, fine. But when we switch, I get to control the radio."

Silence fills the vehicle again. Uncomfortable with the silence Elliot blurts, "How's Noah?" Olivia swivels her head to look at Elliot. He points his finger towards the front window, "Hey! Eyes on the road, Captain." Elliot giggles to himself as Olivia follows his order. He can see her take a deep breath.

"Noah is getting better," Olivia flicks the blinker signaling a lane change, "He's excited for summer to start."

"I thought school got out in June?" Elliot tries to continue the conversation.

"It does. He's just excited."

"That's good," Elliot responds sensing her tension. He directly asks her, "And you?"

"What about me?" Olivia quickly glances over to see the expression on his face.

"How are you?"

Olivia grins just enough for it to reflect on Elliot. She shrugs her shoulders, "I'm okay."

"Just okay?" Elliot tries not to pry too much.

"McGrath is constantly up my ass, which is nothing new, but I have small things that I look forward to."

"Which would be?.."

"Noah has his spring dance recital soon, I have an end-of-the-year bake sale to contribute to, and Amanda and Carisi are having a baby. There's a lot of stuff going," Olivia explains further. Elliot accepts her answer and continues to look at her. She can feel his blue eyes looking deeply at her. To continue the conversation and to avoid the silence, she asks, "How are you doing?"

Elliot shrugs his shoulders, "I've had worse days."

"That's all you're gonna give me?" Olivia looks to her passenger side mirror catching a glimpse of him still leaning on the door.

"What'dya mean?" Elliot tilts his head down only slightly to catch her eyes.

"I basically just told you my calendar schedule for the next month and all you have to say is, 'I've had worse days.' You gotta give me more than that."

"Eli's looking at colleges and- oh! Maureen sent me pictures of Kieran and Seamus. Kathleen is-"

"I asked how you were doing. Not your kids."

Taken aback, Elliot thinks of his response, "I'm doing alright."

"And…" Olivia hates the silence.

"And… I am exhausted from this case- and the Christmas present sitting on your desk."

"It always comes back to the present."

"You realize that not opening a Christmas present and having it just sit around is like a crime against Santa."

"A crime against Santa?" Olivia furrows her eyebrows.

"A crime against Santa," Elliot confirms his statement. He sees Olivia roll her eyes. Turning his focus towards the radio he asks, "Can I please find a different station, they have played this song at least three times since we have been driving." Olivia nods in approval. Elliot reaches out and twists the 'tuning' dial. He allows a few notes of the songs to play before he decides if he wants to skip to a different station. After what felt like a thousand stations later he settles on one.

Olivia glances down at the screen and reads, "Oldies for the oldies?"

Elliot looks at the screen as well, "I didn't even see that. I just got tired of trying to find a station that wasn't staticky." He can hear Olivia humming along to the tune, "You know this?"

"Of course, I do!" only slightly offended Olivia turns up the volume.

"Does that make you an 'oldie?'" Elliot asks jokingly.

"I'm younger than you."

The tunes of Etta James' 'At Last' fill the car. Even though the pair is not in complete silence, Elliot feels compelled to continue the conversation, "You said Noah had a dance recital?"

"Yes, he's been talking about it nonstop. His group has been practicing since Christmas."

"Oh, I know."

"You know?"

"Noah and I had two hours on the way back from the McCanns."

"You said that he was asleep for most of it."

"Bro-code, Liv. Bro-code," he puts his fist to his chest in solidarity as she rolls her eyes, "You wouldn't tell me the details between you and Rollins, that's girl-code. We have bro-code."

"I'm aware of 'bro-code,' I just thought that it wouldn't apply to my son and a trusted adult."

"If there was anything you needed to be aware of, I would have told you."

Olivia leans back aligning her spine with the center of the seat. Pulling into the exit lane she states, "I need to stretch and get a coffee." Slowing the car down as she enters the parking lot she asks, "Do you need anything or are you okay?"

"I'm good," Elliot smirks, "I'm in it for the long haul."

A/N: Sooooo…. How did you like it? If you think I should continue please let me know. I was thinking of making a chapter for every hour until they made it to Ohio.
