Disclaimers:
I do not own Sailor Moon and Percy Jackson. Sailor Moon is written by Naoko Takeuchi in manga form and aired as a series by Toei Animation and TV Asahi in Japan and by Kodansha Comics in North America. Percy Jackson is written by American author Rick Riordan as a book series and aired as movies by 20th Century Fox in 2010 as it makes a TV series of this book series at the end of 2023.
Perseus Percy Jackson, a black haired and sea-green eyed teenage boy, was walking around camp grounds called Camp Half-blood, a place for… demigods. After fighting within two great wars between the Olympians and their bad guys, Percy was trying very hard not to collapse from the exhaustion. The only saving grace was his first friend since before everything started: Serenity Tsukino, otherwise known to her American friends by Serena. Serena was the one friend he always hung out with, despite his ADHD rearing its ugly head and him being expelled from schools. She was the one who actually FOLLOWED him to his new school after being expelled, too. Yet, since she moved to her home country, Japan, it was kind of hard to talk with Serena. Percy could remember how he felt when Serena told him that she was moving to Japan for the rest of her middle school years and the start of her high school ones…
- Flashback –
Percy was resting at his mom's place, very grateful that his mom divorced his stepdad, Smelly Gabe. If he was there, then Percy probably wouldn't have come back just to visit his mom. He knew that being a demigod, he was safer at Camp Half-blood, but Percy also knew that he would worry about his mom, especially when she was kidnapped BEFORE his first demigod quest. For now, his mom was actually at the bank to get a business loan to create her own bakery right here in old New York City. He wasn't really expecting anyone to come get him until a couple of days after Chiron, the director AND main centaur of Camp Half-blood, accepted his request to just visit his mom. So, because he wasn't expecting anyone to knock on the door, Percy kind of jumped a bit before… "Mrs. Jackson," questioned a familiar female voice, "Are you in?"
"I totally forgot about Serena living near here," muttered Percy to himself before he went towards the door.
"I guess she's out," said Serena's voice, "And I was sure she was in to help me with this…"
"Serena," said Percy who threw the door open.
"Percy," questioned a surprised Serena, "You're home too?"
"Yeah," said Percy with a raised eyebrow, "Did you think I went somewhere?"
"Well," said Serena, "Considering that your mom said you were at summer camp again for this summer…"
Percy winced inwardly. He also totally had forgotten that his mom would have told his first and best female friend where he was. He knew that they also exchanged letters, him always indicating that he was a summer camp and expressing the different traditions it had from other summer camps. Of course, he couldn't really tell Serena the truth about his summer camp and sighed inwardly. He really wanted to tell his friend what he actually was and everything, but the reality is that he couldn't. Gesturing for Serena to come in, Percy couldn't help but look at how pretty his friend became. She still had some baby fat on her, but she still also looked slimmed, like one of those tween models on TV. "Well, I asked the camp if I could visit mom for a few days to help her move into this newer place," said Percy.
"And you never contacted me that you were here," teased Serena.
"I was sure you told me you were busy this summer," said Percy.
"Yeah," said Serena who turned somber quickly.
"Hey," said Percy with a frown, "Why are you being bummed now?"
"Well," said Serena, "About what I'm busy with…"
Percy was calm as he waited for Serena to tell him why she now looked sad. Serena, on her part, knew that Percy had the right to know about her so-called secret, but she didn't know how she could tell him. Percy was the one guy that she could always trust to have her back, just like how she had his whenever he went to a new school and being promptly kicked out after an incident. Percy was also the one guy that she had a semi-crush on, but she knew that with this so-called secret, she couldn't pursue that crush. Pouting slightly, Serena muttered out why she was kind of busy this summer. It was just her luck that Percy heard what she said. "You're moving," exclaimed an incredulous Percy.
"Yup," said Serena, "I am moving back to Japan at the end of this summer."
"Why," questioned Percy.
"My parents miss Japan," said Serena, "So, dad applied to jobs there while still doing his photography stuff for the New York Times. It was just their good luck that someone hired dad. Now, we have to pack everything to ship to our new house."
Percy pouted inwardly himself. He was kind of looking forward to also meet up with Serena after making sure his mom was settled. He knew that he kind of forgot about her living near where his mom's new place was, but this was his friend… his very first friend at that. Percy could also see that Serena really wanted to stay in New York, but he knew that there was another reason that Serena SHOULD go. Despite her parents missing Japan and her dad finally got a job in said country, Percy knew that it wouldn't be safe in New York sooner or later. He knew that there would be some type of godly war coming soon, especially when everything pointed to something bad after one of the demigods, Luke Castellan, the demigod of Hermes, betrayed the camp. "Then," said Percy, "You better send me letters with your new address. Maybe write in Japanese?"
"Are you going to learn Japanese, Percy," questioned a mirth Serena.
"I could learn," said Percy, "Besides, the characters wouldn't jump like the American alphabets."
"Unless you read the Japanese in romanji," teased Serena.
"Hey," said Percy, "You are one to talk since you also have dyslexia."
"At least," said Serena, "I don't have ADHD with it!"
Percy could tell Serena was teasing him as he jumped on top of her and started to tickle her sides. He could see that her somber look was gone as happiness radiated off of her face. Percy thought that was a better expression on his friend than the sad one. As Percy paused and leaned over Serena, the two didn't notice the door open until… "Perseus Jackson! Get off of Serena this instant!"
- End Flashback –
'Mom totally got the wrong idea at that time,' thought Percy with a small blush on his face.
Percy mentally shook his head at the reminder about what happened after Serena left as he walked towards his cabin that represented his godly father, Poseidon. He was passing the cabin that represented the god Hermes before a female voice called out to him. Turning around, he was met with his friend, the demigod of Apollo, Will Solace. Will ran up to him as he stopped to wait for what Will needed to say. Percy could see that Will had his urgent face on. "Will," questioned Percy.
"Chiron wants all of us councilors for a meeting at the Big House," said Will.
"You know what this is about," questioned Percy as both started to walk towards the meeting.
"Nope," said Will.
"Great," sighed out Percy, "Well, hopefully, it's not really a world ending thing."
"You and me both," said Will.
- At The Meeting –
"What do you mean Artemis' daughter," exclaimed the daughter of Athena, Annabeth.
When Percy and Will got to the Big House, they were met with the other councilors: Jason Grace, son of Zeus, Katie Gardner, daughter of Demeter, Clarisse La Rue, daughter of Ares, Leo Valdez, son of Hephaestus, Piper McLean, daughter of Aphrodite, the twins Connor and Travis Stoll, sons of Hermes, Pollux, the son of Dionysus, Nico di Angelo, son of Hades, and Annabeth Chase. Percy could see that it was the main thirteen gods that were at the Big House while the other minor gods' councilors/children were watching over the other campers. Sitting down, it wasn't long that Chiron, the Centaur and activities' director, came into the room and finally told them all what was going on, especially when it was a shocking one such as Artemis, the virgin goddess of the Moon having a daughter. "Well," said Chiron, "As I said, Lady Artemis finally regained memories of a life that part of her essence inhabited. She was a regal queen from the Moon, of all places, and was a fair ruler of our Solar System millennia ago."
"So, what's this about a daughter," questioned Piper.
"With her memories regained," explained Chiron, "She remembered using an artifact she created for her persona that sent her daughter and her daughter's court into the future… into THIS present time."
"Eh," exclaimed everyone.
"How did she even regain those memories," questioned Leo.
"According to her," said Chiron, "Her daughter is now using the artifact in question in a different area of the world. That artifact actually resonated a powerful magical aura that hit Lady Artemis through the one thing she is goddess over… the Moon."
"Totally weird," said Clarisse gruffly.
"Anyways," said Chiron, "The quest is to find said daughter and her royal court, to make sure that they are in a safe environment. Lady Artemis says that if it seems that they are happy, do NOT approach them and take them back here to camp."
Percy furrowed his eyebrows at this quest. It was quite different from all the other quests they would have gotten if it were demigods. However, the daughter in question IS a demigoddess in her own right. Didn't that mean she wasn't safe at all? Percy wasn't sure if he wanted to risk monsters going after this daughter of Artemis, even if said daughter is happy. Shaking his head mentally, he turned back to the meeting at hand to hear Nico question Chiron. "Do we have a name to go with this mysterious daughter of Artemis," questioned Nico.
"Surprisingly, yes," said Chiron, "Apparently, Artemis' Roman alias keeps watch over said daughter whenever she can."
"Okay," said Katie, "This will make it easier. She turns to Chiron. What's her name?"
"Serenity Tsukino," said Chiron, "Her first name was derived after the former moon deity, Selene."
As everyone was gearing to chose which councilors were going to go on this quest, Percy was sitting stock still at the familiar name Chiron just said. It couldn't really be his first and best friend, Serena, could it? But, how many other Serenity Tsukinos were out there in the world? Maybe it was just a coincidence? But… Percy paused his thoughts as he remembered reading Serena's letters to him. He recalled how Serena gave away her heroine secrets to Percy because that was the kind of friend she was. She wasn't the type to keep secrets hidden from him, especially since he was far away from so-called danger. Sighing inwardly, Percy just had to agree that they WERE talking about his best friend, Serena. "Percy," questioned Jason.
"Huh," questioned Percy.
"Are you coming along or staying," questioned Pollux.
"Who's going again," questioned Percy.
"If you were paying attention, Seaweed Brain," said Annabeth, "It was agreed to have more than three demigods going since this isn't a typical quest."
"We agreed for Annabeth, Jason, Will, Piper, Leo, and me to go," said Nico, "So, are you in?"
"Yeah," said Percy, "I'm in."
"Excellent," said Chiron, "Now, I shall prepare the traveling for you seven."
"Exactly where are we going," questioned Leo.
"Tōkyō, Japan," said Chiron, "Other than that, you have to find her and her court yourselves."
- Couple Weeks Later: Japan –
Once the seven finally arrived in one of Japan's harbors, the seven were deciding what to do. Tōkyō was already a big city with different districts, and finding Artemis' daughter was going to take a long time. It was Annabeth that took charge and told them that they should split up into twos to navigate the huge city. She, however, didn't take into an account that there were seven of them. Percy, surprisingly, was quick to volunteer to go by himself, a hand in his jean pocket where a certain address was. "Are you sure," questioned Piper.
"I am," said Percy, "Besides, Wise Girl is right. This city is huge; so going off in pairs is a good idea."
"Too bad that we don't have another person," said Jason.
"It's fine," said Percy reassuringly.
"If you are sure," said a nervous Leo.
"I am," said Percy, "Besides, we all have phones that are working through divine means. If I run into trouble, I can just message you all."
With that, everyone went their separate ways, Percy going off on his own. Percy, however, was glad that he was going off by himself as he tried to navigate Japan's subway system. He was also glad that due to the exchanged letters between Serena and him, Percy was able to semi-talk his way for help in Japanese. The nice policeman was happy to help him find his way to Jūban. Now, Percy was sweating a bit as he finally found Serena's house. He knew that Serena wasn't expecting him this summer, but at least, she'll be surprise to see him? He was hoping as he stood in front of Serena's door and knocked. A familiar female voice called out as Percy heard footsteps coming towards the door. When the door opened, Percy couldn't help but stare at who was in front of him: Serena. "Percy," exclaimed Serena in shock.
"Hi, Serena," said a sheepish Percy, "Surprise?"
"Surprise indeed," said Serena, "Come in."
"Thanks," said Percy as he stepped through.
Percy looked around the house as Serena led him to the living room. It was there that Percy took a good look at his long time friend. He could tell his heart sped up as he checked Serena out. Her baby fat was gone, along with her legs being very tone and long. He gulped when he saw that it looked like Serena kind of got up from her bed as she was wearing some very short pajama shorts and a baby tee. Serena, on her part, was checking Percy out and could see how fit he was. Gone was his baby fat, along with how his arms had muscles. Sure, he had muscles the day she left to live in Japan, but… Serena could feel the butterflies in her stomach once more as her crush reared its ugly head from the depths of her heart once more. "So, what brings you here," questioned Serena.
"Um," said Percy hesitantly, "Can't a best friend visit?"
"I would have believed that," said Serena, "But, you hesitated before asking that question, making me believe otherwise."
"And I can't lie to save my life," sighed Percy.
"And you can't lie to save your life," said Serena with a giggle.
"Okay," said Percy, "I'll tell you, but please keep an open mind."
"Okay," said Serena questioningly.
"Okay," repeated Percy, "So, what are your beliefs about Greek gods?"
Serena blinked but didn't say anything just as Percy barreled on. Serena sat on the sofa, transfixed, as Percy told her his story. It wasn't like some of the omitted versions she told him through letters. It was the full on explanation that the Greek AND Roman gods were real, that he was the demigod son of Poseidon. There, Percy also told her about how he discovered all of this and the battles/quests he went on to get where he was. He was kind of surprised that Serena didn't interrupt him as he finished his tale. He lifted his head after explaining everything to see Serena's crystal blue eyes staring at his sea-green ones. It wasn't until his arms were full of Serena that Percy kind of flushed slightly. "Uh, Sere," questioned Percy who shortened her name unconsciously.
"You are so brave, Percy," said Serena. "And I am glad that you have gotten training. I don't know what I would have done if I lost you."
"Lost," questioned Percy, "Sere, you won't lose me."
"But," said Serena, "I might have after everything you have done in your life. And right before…"
"Before," questioned Percy who was not getting it.
"F-Forget it," said Serena who pulled away, a small red hue to her face.
Percy blinked in surprise at what Serena did. He really was curious what Serena was going to say. Seeing that Serena was about to stand up and redirect their conversation, Percy was not going to let that happen. Percy actually pulled Serena back towards him, leading Serena to fall onto Percy. Grunting a bit at the impact, Percy never realized how he loves Serena's eye color. Percy unconsciously wrapped his arms around Serena's waist, just holding her right next to him as his sea-green eyes looked at Serena curiously. "Now, Sere," said Percy, "What were you going to tell me?"
"I-It's embarrassing," said Serena.
"I bet it's not, "said Percy, "Especially since it's your feelings we're talking about here."
"I… I didn't want to lose you until I got the courage to say," started Serena.
"To say," pushed Percy.
"T-To say," said Serena, her face lighting up in deep red, "T-That I l-like you… l-like that."
Percy blinked as Serena confessed her feelings to him. He could tell that Serena was genuine with her feelings as her head laid face-forward onto his chest. He could also feel the heat that was generating from Serena's face. Percy thought back on all the stories he read from Serena's letters. Just like Serena, Percy was also scared of losing Serena. He just didn't equate that feeling of lose with also a combination of liking someone. At least, he knew that he had similar feelings for Serena as he thought about how he was unconsciously jealous of the reincarnated Earth Prince in Serena's letters. Gently coaxing Serena to look at him, crystal blue clashed with sea-green. "Hey," said Percy, "You don't have to be embarrassed about your feelings because…"
"B-Because," questioned Serena hesitantly.
"Because I like you too," said Percy.
"R-Really," questioned Serena.
"I never knew that my feelings are what you are feeling back then," said Percy, "But thinking back on the stories you told me, although I think it was very omitted for my sake, I also didn't want to lose you to whatever enemy you were facing here. Didn't also realize I was jealous of you dating that reincarnated Earth Prince. Thought you didn't like him?"
"It's more of an obligation before we broke up mutually,' muttered Serena.
"Eh," questioned Percy, "When was that?"
"A week ago," said Serena.
"Well," said Percy, "That's one worry out of the way."
Serena giggled as Percy smiled at her. He was just glad that he found out about his feelings for Serena during this quest. Being a bit daring, Percy slightly sat up before gently turning Serena's face towards him. There, he leaned a bit just as his lips pressed gently on Serena's. Serena, on her part, gasped lightly at the feeling just as Percy pulled back from the kiss. Serena could see that Percy wanted to know that what he did was alright or not before he was pushed down, Serena's lips crashing back onto his to reciprocate his feelings. "I… I think I like you more than liking you," said Serena as she pulled away.
"I could feel that," said Percy with a goofy grin.
"But," said Serena with confusion.
"Huh," questioned Percy.
"You told me your story and we confessed," said Serena, "But, exactly WHY are you here?"
'Oh boy,' thought Percy, 'I forgot to tell her why I'm actually here.'
"Uh," said Percy, "I am actually on a quest to find Artemis' reincarnated daughter."
"Reincarnated," trailed off Serena.
"Which," continued Percy hesitantly, "Would be you?"
"Eh," exclaimed Serena in surprise.
- Weeks Later –
"Are you sure you want to stay in Japan," questioned Nico.
It was weeks that the others finally found Percy. Percy, on his part, was being reamed for NOT calling the others as soon as he found Serena. Yet, he didn't really regret it since Percy and Serena were exploring their new relationship in Serena's hometown. He even got to meet Serena's royal court, which threw him for a loop since their powers were somewhat the same as the Roman gods. With the combined of his ADHD, his thoughts were more focused on how to make Serena happy. Serena, on her part, heard Percy quest and was surprised she was not going to be dragged to Camp Half-blood. Maybe because she was still needed as a Sailor Senshi in Japan? The couple didn't think about it too much about it as soon as they bumped into one daughter of Aphrodite; thus, the reaming of one Percy Jackson. "I'm sure," said Percy, "Besides, mom was ecstatic that I finally confessed to Serena."
"I can't believe the Serena we were trying to find is YOUR girl, Percy," said Will with a shake of his head.
"And you told your mom before you contacted us," asked an incredulous Nico.
"Mom already knows about Serena," said Percy with a shrug, "Just not the daughter of Artemis bit."
The rest of the demigods and demigoddesses sighed in exasperation. Nico and Will were just happy that they were away from Annabeth because according to Piper, Annabeth had the hugest crush on Percy since she first met him. Percy, on the other hand, was totally oblivious to Annabeth's feelings during camp. They, however, could now see that his heart was already taken by his first best friend and the now known daughter of Artemis, Serena. Since the quest was mostly about to make sure Serena and her royal court were happy where they were, Nico and Will could also understand why Percy was staying in Japan. Without Percy there, Serena would essentially NOT be happy and be a moping mess. "Guess we'll tell Chiron why you aren't with us," said Will.
"Yeah," piped up Jason who came into the trio's group, "We wouldn't want any of the campers to think you died on this quest."
"Nah," said Percy, "I think with Sere's magical interference, it also blocked all the Greek and Roman mythological creatures. So, it's also hiding me… to an extent."
"Well, that's good," said Will, "I just hope that Lady Artemis will not smite you for dating her daughter."
"Same," said all the males once they all gathered together.
Percy just sweat-dropped just as Serena side-wrapped her arms around Percy's waist. Percy unconsciously placed an arm around Serena's shoulder as the both finally waved the six off. Percy really hoped that Artemis wasn't going to smite him as the couple finally turned away from the boat the others were going back to New York in. Looking down at Serena, he was sure that he would take death over Serena being unhappy though. As he thought when they were thirteen, Serena being happy was a better sight to see than her being unhappy. "Ready to find an apartment," questioned Serena.
"You sure it's fine for us to live together since you know," said Percy, "This relationship is still new."
"It's fine," said Serena, "Puu told me that this is what she glimpsed at from the Time Gates."
"Still surprised by the fact there is an artifact called the Time Gates," said Percy.
"Don't worry," said Serena, "I'll be along side with you."
"Not worried," said Percy, "Besides, I'll be along side with you, too. You won't have to move schools because of me anymore. And! I can also use my powers this time to help you out."
Serena smiled sweetly at Percy's sincere counter as Percy smiled down at Serena dopily. He knew that together they would be alright in the future, especially if a certain Senshi of Time saw to it. Though, as they kissed once more, they never knew that they were being watched… from above…
- In Olympus –
"I TOLD you that Endymion was so wrong for the little princess," teased Aphrodite.
As Percy and Serena were now doing couple stuff, Artemis, on her part, was watching everything unfold. She knew that in her so-called past, she shouldn't have engaged her only daughter to the Prince of Earth, Prince Endymion. Yet, she also needed that alliance with Earth to make sure the entire Solar System would be peaceful. Of course, the universe had other ideas. It was just her luck that Aphrodite also imparted a bit of her essence during the same time period as her. Now, to her unlucky day, Aphrodite also recovered her memories of that time. "Yes, yes," said Artemis, "I do regret setting up little Serenity with that human."
"So, you give Perseus your blessings," questioned Aphrodite.
"Of course," said Artemis, "Though, if he makes one wrong move on my girl, I'll smite him where he stands."
"Of course," giggled Aphrodite, "Now, come Artemis. We shall plan a wedding that is fit for your dear daughter!"
"Aphrodite," sighed Artemis in exasperation.
With one more look at the couple, Artemis graced herself with a gentle smile that would be very familiar to certain Senshi. Artemis was sure that this time, Percy was the true soul mate for her daughter. Finally turning her back to the image in front of her, she couldn't help how her shoulders lost their tension after learning about Queen Serenity IV's memories. Though… "I was NOT joking, Perseus Jackson," said Artemis to herself, "Make Serenity sad and there WILL be retribution."
- Back On Earth –
"You alright," questioned Serena as she noticed Percy shivering after the nth kiss.
"I'm fine," said Percy as he relaxed slightly, "Probably your mom threatening me if I make you unhappy."
"You'll always make me happy," said Serena.
"Same here," said Percy before leaning down to kiss Serena once more.
