It was night, the moon was high in the sky. A young man with black hair was shopping in a convenience store. It was nothing special, but this person was a kind of Hikikomori. But as he left the convenience store, he had a strange sensation and his vision changed in an instant. He told himself it was just fatigue, then rubbed his eyes and...
"Did I just get INVOICED INTO ANOTHER WORLD!?"
This is the beginning of the Subaru Lolimancer story, which was supposed to be a joke in another universe but is now a reality here.
Everyone looked at Subaru, surprised to hear him suddenly shouting. Some people thought he was an idiot, others a strange traveler and a few even thought he'd gone mad. Noticing that he had caught the eye of the whole square, he quickly left and took refuge in an alleyway.
"I shouldn't have shouted, I made a bad impression from the start. But when they find out about my future exploits as an ultimate magician and super-powered fighter, they'll only be able to thank me for being here."
Looking into his bag, he saw his starting inventory. He was a little depressed at having so few items to start his adventure, but motivated himself by telling himself that he'd earn more items in the future. Subaru was so distracted that he didn't notice a gang of three thugs approaching him.
"Give us your money or you'll suffer".
"THESE ARE MY FIRST ENEMIES! WITH THE POWER OF THE TURTLES I INVOKE A LIGHTNING SPELL, AHH!"
...But nothing happened, and he made a fool of himself in front of the three thugs, who were on the verge of incomprehension and laughter. Subaru thought he should learn how this world worked before trying to cast a spell, and wondered if magic even existed here.
"Method No. 2: Super strength! Summoned ones always possess extraordinary strength! AHH!"
He moved as quickly as possible towards one of the three thugs and gave him a big blow, then kicked the second thug who was close to the first. With only one left, he began to move towards him until he pulled two blades out of him, wondering for a second how he could carry this without being spotted.
"Please excuse my rudeness, please don't kill me."
He received several kicks and threats, wondering if this was the end of his adventure. After living a bad life on his old world, he finally realized his dream of being summoned to some kind of fantasy world, but died right at the start. He thought of his parents, he was a disgrace to his family, he'd never accomplished anything except making a fool of himself over and over again. He was losing hope, every second was horrible. Until...
"It's not right to hurt people!"
A young girl of only about ten had appeared, wearing a pink dress with a small ribbon attached to it. She had bright green hair styled in a bobbed style and light blue eyes. This girl clearly didn't feel like fighting, yet she seemed absolutely eager to help me.
"What do you want, kid! If you've got something rare, we can leave it alone!"
The thief was almost threatening her; he didn't want her to suffer because of him, but there was nothing he could do. He was on the ground, with virtually no strength, but there was still one thing he could do - he'd be a fool to let her pride get the better of him. He used the rest of his strength to take a deep breath, then shouted as loud as he could.
"HELP THE GUARD! A YOUNG GIRL IS-"
Unable to finish his sentence, he collapsed due to a heavy blow from the smallest of the three thugs. Perhaps this was the end of his adventure, but he heard a voice coming from behind him, or perhaps from in front. The voice was very majestic, probably a good person, he thought before fainting.
"He's awake!"
Subaru had woken up, it must have been a while since he'd fainted, because two new people were now here. The first was an elegant young man, probably a nobleman or important person. But the second person was a beautiful girl with silver hair, elf ears and a worried look.
"How long have I been asleep?"
Subaru said this with a chuckle, trying to make a good impression after all that had happened. He even wondered if the silver-haired girl wasn't an angel come down from heaven just for him, then his right arm was immediately grabbed, he hadn't expected that at all. The person clutching his arm was the girl who had given him a little hope earlier.
"You've been asleep for an hour, sir..."
He'd forgotten to introduce himself. How could he have forgotten such an important thing? His idiotic introduction often made those around him laugh again. So he struck a pose and introduced himself.
"My name is Natsuki Subaru! Eternal ignoramus and broke! Pleased to meet you!"
The girl, still clutching his arm, was on the verge of being impressed. He hadn't done anything special, even worse, he'd made a fool of himself in front of her and was going to make her suffer for it. He really couldn't understand why she was already so attached to him. Then everyone introduced themselves in turn.
"My name is Reinhard, I'm a master swordsman who's normally on leave today, delighted to make your acquaintance."
"I'm Plum Risch! I love your Subaru eyes!"
"My name is Emilia, just Emilia. It's true that your eyes are very beautiful!"
Subaru didn't really understand why so many compliments were paid to his eyes, which he felt were threatening, it was thanks to his mother that he'd had eyes like those. He'd probably never see her again, but she'd been a good mother, and he'd wanted to thank them for everything they'd done for him all his life, but that was impossible now. Another voice was heard close to Emilia, coming from nowhere.
"We should get back there soon, she's going to get too far ahead."
"You're right Puck, I'm sorry but I'm going to have to leave you now."
The former Subaru might have let her go, but he knew he absolutely mustn't abandon her. She was the girl of his dreams, and at last he had the chance to meet an elf with silver hair. He still knew nothing of this new world, but one thing was certain. He wasn't someone who wanted to live a humdrum life; he absolutely wanted to help her.
"I'd like to help you, you seem to be in a hurry about something, I suppose I can help?"
The girl heard his words, she didn't think he'd offer to help her. He probably should have avoided her because of her hair and race. She almost hesitated to accept, until her friend Puck persuaded her to accept his help.
"It doesn't look bad, in case of need it will serve as protection against thieves."
Subaru, having clearly heard the little feline, became a little annoyed, but was astonished to see some kind of magical animal floating close to Emilia. He wanted so much to pet it, but dismissed the idea for the moment. Reinhard, always present, interrupted the conversation to say he had to leave and started to walk out of the alley.
"A little help wouldn't go amiss, I suppose. But you don't even know what the thief who stole my badge looks like, and you didn't know I'd been robbed to boot."
Plum felt she could finally help Subaru, she hurriedly thought about everything she'd seen before and was sure she'd seen a thief with something in her hands. She quickly rushes to help her, then tells Emilia what she knows.
"I saw a girl go by, she looked like a thief and she was very fast. I know what she looks like too!"
Emilia, no longer able to refuse Subaru and Plum's help, thinks again about finding an excuse, but abandons the idea. As she said earlier, she feels that a little help can't be refused.
"Well, I don't mind if you help me find my badge."
"Great! Let's go find your badge!
Several hours passed, they had been all over the city and had found no clues, they were still looking for something to help them, but found nothing. Emilia thought she'd never find her badge, and that she'd taken too long in the alley.
"It's too big this city, I almost feel like it's bigger than New York!"
"New York? What's Subaruuu?"
"A city in my country is a big city with lots of very tall houses and a statue near the water."
"I really want to see this city! Can we go please?"
"It's a bit complicated now, plus you'll have to get home to your parents given the time."
She didn't want to go home at all. The girl was somehow attracted to Subaru, an inexplicable feeling she'd never felt before. Plum thought of an excuse to stay with Subaru at all costs, and came up with a simple but effective lie.
"I don't have parents, so now you'll be my beloved big brother~!"
"Natsuki Subaru, I'd like to confirm something."
The person who'd just spoken to him was Puck, he didn't appear much, strangely enough. But he had a creepy look on his face, it looked like he was going to hurt me, but it was more a look of suspicion.
"Are you currently using an authority or some kind of magic. I only want to hear a 'yes' or 'no', any other answer will be followed by death."
"Puck, you're coming on a little too strong. I don't think he's a threat, or he would have attacked us by now."
"No, I don't use magic or authority, but if you can teach me how to do magic, it would be really nice!" Puck sighed, noticing that he wasn't lying about not using magic or authority. He was still a little suspicious, but had the impression that the aura the young man gave off was not his fault. He quickly returned to his Crystal, but before leaving he told Emilia that Subaru was no threat.
"I take it that's a no?"
"Yes, maybe later when we get my badge back. It'll be dark soon and we still haven't found even one clue. She's going to be worried."
After a few more hours of searching, still looking for something. They found absolutely nothing. Still with no clues, no leads, and beginning to tire, Emilia was forced to give up.
"I thank you so much for helping me, but I don't feel like we're going to find him."
"Wait, there must be some way to find your badge. I feel bad I couldn't find it for you..."
"Subaru, it's already very kind of you to have helped me when you didn't owe me anything. By the way, where do you live?"
Suddenly embarrassed at having to say he had nothing, Emilia understood the situation quickly enough. Because of her kindness, she was forced to offer to come with them to the manor. Her excuse was that she wouldn't want to feel bad about leaving two children in the capital with nowhere to go.
"Are you sure we can come with you? I absolutely wouldn't want to bother you Emi."
"Don't worry, I don't think you'll be any trouble. Where did that nickname come from!?"
"Ahah! I thought of a nickname that would suit you and came up with Emiii!"
"Emiii~! Can I come too then?"
"Yes, Plum. You can also come with me and Subaru."
"Youpiii! Emii~ is too nice, but Subaru is even better!"
Emilia and Subaru laughed at the rather strange situation, she already seemed to like Subaru a lot in just a few hours, perhaps a little too much... Yet this was only the beginning of the story of Lolimancer, Natsuki Subaru!
"He's cute... I almost want to go see them, but my sister should be done by now, I can't go see him."
The Writer's Sanctuary
Greetings!
I hope the prologue has whetted your appetite for the sequel, which already has a young girl in it for Subaru. He has no idea he has the power of Lolimancer!
But what does this power do? All it does is attract "lolis" to Subaru, any more and he'd have had a second daughter by the prologue! Luckily she... wait, I'm not going to spoil her power ahah!
Well, I guess we'll see you soon for the rest.
