Disclaimer: I do not own Sofia The First
A/N: My last entry for stfshipappreciationweek2023. It's been a fun run this year.
Vivian hummed in contentment. Blissfully listening to the beautiful voice, as she strummed her mandolin in accompaniment.
Clio's cadences soared through her little garden. Enticing the enchanted musical plants that grew there to join in with the melody.
Unable to resist the call herself. Vivian added her own voice to the mix. Clio smiling lovingly at her as their voices harmonized in a duet.
When they'd finished, the plants stilled. Leaving their surroundings silent once more.
"Sorry about that," Vivian apologized with a slight giggle. Having only meant to provide some instrumentals as her girlfriend practiced for a coveted role in the next musical their school would be hosting
"It's alright," the other girl assured. "I always love singing along with you."
Vivian smiled, then lay back upon the blanket she'd spread out. Beckoning her princess to join her.
She did, laying beside her as the garden started to play it's own song. One they heard many times, and that seemed to be composed just for them.
Their fingers entwined together as Vivian placed gentle kisses upon the tips of Clio's fingers. 'So soft...' she mused. Unlike her own, which were calloused from the use of her musical talent.
Clio smiled, reaching with her free hand to brush her fingers through those long black locks.
"How did I get so lucky?" she wondered.
Vivian chuckled, "Thank Sofia."
Clio laughed, "Yeah, a lot of us have things to thank Sofia for." Indeed if it had not been for the new princess coming into their lives. Encouraging Vivian to come out of her shell; and Clio to forge her own path instead of always following Hildegarde. They may not have gotten the opportunity to be like this today.
"You're the thing I'm most grateful though," she remarked.
Vivian smiled, those green eyes lighting up with love "You too."
They lay like that a moment longer, enjoying the music of the garden and the peace of each other's company. Until Clio finally sat up again.
"I suppose I should practice some more", straightening out her dress.
"Yeah," Vivian admitted. Rising up to join her. "But first," leaning forward and placing a kiss on those soft lips. "For luck."
She smiled, "I'll need another one of those before I go up on stage"
"Of course," she chuckled. Playing her mandolin, as Clio started the song from the top again; and this time, she didn't even try not to sing along.
