It was a typical day in Adventure Bay, some of the pups were at the park. Zuma and Rocky were going up and down on the seesaw, Skye and Rubble were taking turns on the slide, and Marshall and Chase were having fun on the swings.
As they were enjoying their time, a couple of dogs were walking past with their walker. The four dogs appeared to be an old sheepdog, a Labrador Retriever, a Jack Russell Terrier, and a poodle. The terrier stopped, bringing the group to a halt as he looked towards the pups playing in the park.
"Hey, guys, look at that!" he cried, "It's the PAW Patrol!"
The other dogs looked towards the pups with mixed reactions. "No way, I didn't think we'd get to meet them," the labrador retriever admitted.
The pups began to stop playing as they drew their attention to the older dogs before they recognized their walker, who was Katie. "Hi, pups," she called.
"Hi Katie," Chase replied. "How are you?"
"Just giving these four their walk. How's being a rescue team?"
"Good so far, only had to help with minor issues so far," Marshall responded.
"Eh, should've known from little pups doing human work," the poodle scoffed.
"Little?" Skye questioned, sounding offended.
"Deloris," the retriever groaned. He looked back toward the pups. "Sorry, she's usually like this."
"Uh huh," Rocky said. "Who are you guys anyway?"
"Oh, right," Katie said, "Pups, these are Barney, Harris, Rocket, and Deloris."
"So are there any emergencies you can show us?" Rocket asked.
"Not weally," Zuma said. "Ouw equipment's at the lookout."
"I'm not sure if we'll be able to make it over there before we need to make it back," Katie noted.
"Yeah, not sure it would be worth it to play with some toys," Deloris said.
"They're not toys, they're actual equipment!" Skye proclaimed. Katie could see some conflict was stirring and it was time to go.
"Um…. See you pups later," Katie said. She and some of the dogs tried to leave. It took some pulling but they got Deloris moving and they left the pups on their own.
"Who does she think she is calling us small?" Skye questioned.
"Aren't you the smallest of us?" Rubble asked. Zuma bumped him on the side as the construction pup didn't fully understand what was going on. "What did I say?"

Later that day, the pups were back at the lookout doing their own things. Ryder found Skye sulking on the couch with Zuma sitting beside her. "What's the matter?" the boy asked.
"We met some dogs eawliew today and one commented about Skye being tiny," Zuma explained.
"Um…. Was it somebody you met before?"
"This was the first time I met Deloris," Skye grumbled. "I've just gotten a part of this team and she just makes fun of us."
"I think it's best not to jump to conclusions," Ryder proclaimed, "You might not meet her again. Besides, we haven't had that much time to show them what we can do."
"Yeah, just wait until they see you and youw coptew!" Zuma proclaimed. "Or youw jetpack!"
"Exactly. Give it more time, Skye. You'll show them." This helped Skye feel a little bit better. "Anyways, Mom wanted me to swing by Mr. Porter's to get some groceries. Wanna tag along?"
"Sure thing." Skye quickly fetched her jet-pack, which she was excited to use. Once she saw Ryder driving away with his ATV and trailer, the cockapoo followed after him. It wasn't too long of a drive to the Porter Cafe, where they could see Mr. Porter.
"Hello, Ryder, Skye," he said. "What brings you here?"
"Just picking up some groceries," Ryder explained. He walked over to some of the produce as Skye looked at some kibble. She was curious about trying the flavors when she thought she heard somebody talking on the phone.
"Yes, I know that Deloris can't go off her regular diet," a woman said. The cockapoo saw a woman talking on the phone. Closby was a car that had a poodle looking out an open window. Skye recognized her and gave a lowbrow.
Deloris could see the young cockapoo and just smirked. "Hi again, pipsqueak," she said.
"I'm not a pipsqueak!" Skye barked.
"Well, I have to look down a lot to see you."
"That's because you're the one in a car." Skye began jumping up, trying to get to an eye level with Deloris. The poodle just smirked as she watched the cockapoo hop up and down, yipping in anger.
"This is just cute. Can my owner have you as a bobblehead?"
Skye was about to retort when she heard a voice speak up, "Cool, Skye's here!" She stopped jumping when she looked back to see Alex approaching her with a young girl wearing a pink shirt that had a heart on it.
"Does she have a jetpack on?" the girl asked.
Skye looked back at her pup pack and thought of a way to show up Deloris. "Wanna see me use it?" the cockapoo asked.
"Yeah, we want to see you fly!" Alex proclaimed.
Skye smiled as she stepped away from the car, making sure they could all see her. "Ruff! Wings!" With her command, the pup-pack deployed a pair of wings and jets. "This puppy's gotta fly!" She got a running start and then took off into the air. Deloris and the kids watched as Skye flew around in the air.
This started getting the attention of other people, including Ryder and Mr. Porter. "What is she doing?" Ryder questioned.
"By the looks of it, she's showing off," Mr. Porter guessed. Skye was doing barrel rolls, flips, and even nose dives with her paws only inches from touching the ground before flying back up again.
"She's going to get herself hurt at this rate." Ryder used his pup pad to contact the pup via her pup tag. "Skye, I don't know what you're doing but you shouldn't fly around with your jetpack without a good reason."
"Alex said he wanted to see me in action, Ryder," Skye responded. "Besides, I wanted to use this more often." Skye flew around several of the building tops, getting the attention of more people. She then tried flying above the ocean to try a stunt until Ryder called her again.
"Skye, take it down a notch," Ryder warned, "You don't know what could happen."
"Don't worry, Ryder," Skye scoffed. While the cockapoo looked down to where the cafe would be, she wasn't looking where she was going. Before she knew it, she ran into a flock of seagulls, which made her lose control of her wings.
Though she tried her best to regain control, Skye would dive down and would splash into the ocean, extinguishing her jets. When she resurfaced, the cockapoo swam back to shore where Ryder caught up with her.
"This is what I was trying to warn you about being careful," he stated.
After getting home, Skye was cleaned up after her unintentional swim. Sam wasn't too pleased with this. "That could've been much worse," Sam noted. "What if you didn't land in the water?"
"I know," Skye groaned, "I just wanted Deloris to stop calling me small." Sam soon dried the cockapoo off with a towel before giving her back her collar.
"If you try things like that, you're only going to give her more things to make fun of you. Just try ignoring her next time you see her." Skye just sighed as she walked to the living room where the other pups were sitting.
"How awe you doing Skye?" Zuma asked.
"Been better," the cockapoo sighed. She looked to see they were watching Apollo the super pup. He was chasing down a bad pup who seemed to be throwing insults at the hero. This made Apollo loose focus and he ended up crashing into a net, letting the bad guy get away.
While Rubble and the rest of the pups wondered how Apollo would recover from this, Skye felt like this was just like what happened when she was flying and took a dip. Not wanting to have a repeat of this she kept thinking about what Sam told her.

The next day, Skye and the pups were taking a walk around the city with Ryder walking beside them. As they walked down the sidewalk, Skye brought up the subject of Deloris.
"I've met plenty of mutts on the street," Rocky said. "Some of them won't learn to save their lives."
"Rocky's got a point," Marshall said. "I once saw someone crossing the street not at a crosswalk and when I tried to warn him, he just yelled at me."
"I think it's best that some people and dogs just need to learn the hard way," Ryder proclaimed. "You can warn them as many times as you can, but if they don't want to listen that's on them."
Skye thought about these claims until she noticed Katie walking towards them with the four dogs from the day before, including Deloris. "Hey, it's the PAW Patrol again!" Rocket called.
He dashed forward, dragging Katie and the other three dogs with him. The pups were surprised by his excitement but Deloris looked to be more interested in the cockapoo.
"Did you enjoy your swim yesterday?" the poodle asked. Skye would've responded but she thought it would be best to keep her muzzle shut.
"Sorry about this, Ryder," Katie apologized, "The dogs are a little more rowdy today."
"It's okay, Katie," Ryder replied, "I think that one of them is a huge fan." He looked at Rocket, who Chase thought was getting a little too close.
"Um…. We should get going," the police pup suggested.
"Yeah, gotta go," Skye proclaimed before she ran off with Ryder and the pups following her.
"Uh… See you guys," Katie called.
"Wonder what their rush was," Deloris muttered.
"Probably because you keep insulting Skye," Harris stated.
"Yeah, you're not doing yourself any favors with name-calling," Barney stated.
"I think we should get going," Katie proclaimed. They walked away with Deloris looking back to where the PAW Patrol ran off.
Ryder and the pups got a good enough distance as Skye groaned in frustration. "Why is that so hard?" she muttered.
"Look, it's over now Skye," Ryder said, "Let's just keep walking. We should be back at the lookout soon." The cockapoo just sighed as she followed her friends back home.
Back with Katie and the dogs, they had gotten back to the Pet Parlor just as Deloris's owner was waiting for them. "Sorry, Katie," she apologized, "We're in a rush." She opened the passenger side door, where Deloris jumped inside.
They quickly drove away as the poodle looked upset. "Something on your mind?"
"Just had a run in with a cockapoo," Deloris grumbled.
"You mean Skye?"
"You know about her?"
"Well, I have heard about her from Rebecca. I kind of want to see her in action, you know she has a jetpack."
"Oh, I've seen that thing in action. You should've seen the dive she had."
"Wait, she crash landed." Deloris explained to her owner what had happened when she and Skye met. When she was finished, her owner wasn't happy.
"You know she's a rescuer."
"She's a puppy playing with a backpack."
Deloris's owner was having a hard time focusing on driving and talking to her dog at the same time. Thus she wouldn't see the pothole up ahead when driving past the cliffs. "Deloris, you might not know when you need her. Because…. GAH!"
With a loud thud, they had hit the pothole and swerved into the side of the cliff, this caused some rumbling and then rocks began to fall down. Then after the rocks came boulders that were as big as the car. Thankfully, they only landed around the car, but they were now trapped.
After taking a second to recover, both looked at the stones around them. "Oh, this is bad," the owner gasped. She would've stepped out of the car, but with all the boulders around them, she was worried that she would cause any more stones to fall.
"What do we do now?" Deloris asked. Her owner quickly pulled out her phone and called for help.
At the lookout, Ryder was just about to get something from the fridge when he heard his pup pad ringing. He quickly pulled it out to answer it. "Hello, Ryder here," he announced.
"Hello, I'm calling because my dog and I are… Kind of in a jam," Deloris's owner explained. "We're stuck because of a landslide and now we're trapped. We're surrounded by boulders on the cliff face curve."
"Don't worry, we're on the way." Ryder extended his pup pad and tapped on the call all button. "PAW Patrol, to the lookout!"
"Ryder needs us!" the pups cried. The pups all began racing to the elevator with Marshall wanting to be there first. In his haste, he didn't notice Skye until she was right in front of him. The Dalmatian jumped over her, but in the process crash-landed on the rest of the pups in the elevator. Skye slowly joined them, looking at the pile of pups.
"Maybe there are some advantages to being small," Marshall guessed. Skye rolled her eyes as the elevator went up. After a quick suit up, they were at the top of the lookout and got into position.
"PAW Patrol, ready for action, Ryder sir!" Chase said.
Ryder had the screen come down to help show and explain the situation. "Thanks for hurrying pups," he said, "Deloris and her owner were driving alongside Cliff Face Curve, when they suddenly got caught in a landslide. Now they're trapped between some unstable boulders."
The pups gasped at this. "How are we going to get them out?" Marshall asked.
"I've already got a plan." Ryder swiped through the pup's icons before he tapped on Rubble's pup tag. "Rubble, I'll need you and your rig to help move the boulders out of the way."
"Rubble on the double!" the bulldog announced.
Swiping through some more icons, Skye's pup tag was then selected. "And Skye, I'll need you to use your helicopter to help lift Deloris and her owner out of the center of the landslide."
Yipping and flipping, Skye was excited for this rescue. "This pup's gotta fly!" she cheered.
"Alright, PAW Patrol is on a roll!" Ryder quickly slid down the fireman's pole while the pups slid down the slide to their vehicles.
After a quick drive, the three arrived at the scene of the disaster. "Hello?" Ryder called, "We are here to help!"
"We're in here!" Deloris cried.
"Okay, stay calm, Skye will have you out in a minute!" Deloris whimpered as she felt that Skye was going to make her a laughing stock with this.
But Skye knew that this was serious. "Harness!" she yipped, pressing a button on her controls. From beneath her helicopter, she lowered a harness meant for the poodle and her owner. "Make sure it's secure before I bring you up," the cockapoo explained with her copter's speaker.
The owner helped fasten the harness to Deloris, giving it a tug to make sure. "Do I have to do this?" the poodle questioned.
"Don't worry girl," the owner said, "You're going to be alright." She gave a tug on the cable and called out to Skye. "Bring her up!"
Slowly but surely, Deloris was lifted into the air, reaching the point where she could be lifted over the boulders. The poodle looked down to see how far she was from the ground. "Uh, I don't like this!" she wailed.
"Just hang on, you're going to be okay." Being as careful as she could, Deloris was lowered down where Ryder was standing so he could help unhook her from the harness.
"Okay, Skye," Ryder called, "Now for the human!"
"Coming right up!" the cockapoo proclaimed. Skye flew back over to the rockslide and lowered the harness for Deloris's owner to hook herself up. She gave a thumbs up to the aviator, who lifted her out to safety. Slowly flying back to Deloris, Skye placed the woman back onto solid ground where she unbuckled herself.
"Are you okay?" the boy asked.
"I'm fine," Deloris's owner proclaimed. "Can't say the same thing about my car. It was a goner before the rocks came down."
"And I don't think we have a reliable way to get it out safely."
"That's fine. I'm just glad that Deloris is safe." They then looked towards Skye, who landed a few feet away before hopping out and walking over to her team. "Now, Deloris, I think there's something you should say to the pup who rescued you."
Deloris looked down at the ground as Rubble got to work trying to clean up. "S…. Sorry?" she muttered.
"What?" Skye asked, acting like she didn't hear it. Deloris looked at her owner, seeing that she wasn't going to get away with a half-effort apology like that.
"I'm sorry I kept insulting your size and thank you for saving me," the poodle said dryly.
"You're welcome," Skye replied.
"Do you need a lift back to the city, ma'am," Ryder asked.
"It shouldn't be too far to walk," Deloris's owner explained. "Looks like we're going to have to rely on the bus service." An annoyed whimper was heard from the poodle. "I don't want you acting like this again. You should consider yourself lucky that Skye saved you after all that you said. Now, let's see if we can get back to the city."
The two began to walk away, leaving Ryder and his two pups at the landslide. "You feel better now, Skye?" the boy asked.
"Yeah, feels pretty satisfying," Skye admitted.
"You managed to act like the bigger dog by focusing on the rescue." Skye nodded as they looked back at Rubble clearing up the landslide. She could feel the weight of Deloris's name-calling coming off her shoulders. It was satisfying.
