Chapter 3: Stormy Weather
Mme. Bustier's Classroom - Early Morning
Marinette hummed as she stretched out her limbs.
It was a relatively warm day today, so she went with a simple outfit of a black T-shirt, light grey pants, and black flats.
Looking around the classroom, she had a feeling that things were gonna change even more than they have since her new classmates arrived and the evil Butterfly holder's appearance.
For now though, everything seemed to be settl-
Click
The sound of the door opening interrupted her train of thought.
Oh god dang it!
"Uh, hi! Sorry if I'm late." Said the green-eyed blond-haired boy who just entered the classroom.
Now that she was looking at him, he looked kinda familiar...
"It's perfectly fine, just introduce yourself and then take your seat." Mme. Bustier said to the newcomer, not even questioning his presence(Both because she doesn't get paid enough for it and for my very own brand of plot convenience).
"Right!" He said before taking a few steps to stand before everyone.
"Hello everyone! My name is Adrien and I hope we can be friends!" The now-named Adrien said with a smile that blinded almost everyone in the classroom.
'So bright...' Was their general thought process.
The only exception to this was Chloe, who now had her sunglasses down.
What? Adrien was her best friend after all! So it's only natural she learns the ins and outs of being friends with him.
After Adrien's(Literally) bright introduction, he took a seat next to Nino and got the necessary books for the class out.
'This is gonna be so fun! I'm going to make tons of friends and have the best time of my life!' Adrien thought excitedly.
Adrien's Friend Counter - [2(Chloe and Sabrina)]
Cafeteria - Lunch Time
Marinette glanced at Adrien yet again as she ate.
The fact that she recognised him from somewhere, but couldn't remember where, was seriously bugging her!
"Ooo! Looks like someone has a crush on blondie!" Alya said after seeing where the bluenette was looking.
For some reason, Alya decided to claim Marinette as her best friend, and thus was sitting at her usual table.
The other occupants of the table consisted of her childhood friend Nino, and other new kid Emile.
Kim usually sat with her due to being her other childhood friend, but he was currently a bit busy riling up Alix and probably making a dumb dare with her.
With Kim and Alix
"I bet I can eat more hotdogs than you! My personal record is 19!"
"Bring it on Monkey Breath!"
Back with Marinette
But, back to the conversation.
"Alya, I don't have a crush on him." Marinette stated bluntly.
"Nuh-uh girl, I know a crush when I see one! And you definitely have a crush on him!" Alya insisted with an "All-Knowing Smirk" on her face.
Marinette looked at the two males sitting with them for assistance but...
Nino simply looked amused, while Emile had a big grin with the look of chaos in his eyes.
Letting out a sigh, Marinette facepalmed.
"You should totally go talk to him! I can tell the two of you would totally get along." Marinette's Best Friend stated while giving the bluenette a light nudge with her elbow.
"...Sure..." She said after a few seconds of thought.
At the very least, she could ask him where she recognised him from.
Standing up from her seated position, she grabbed her lunch and moved her way over to Adrien's table.
Which was also Chloe and Sabrina's table. But hey, you have to take the good with the bad, and the bad with the good.
Setting herself down besides Sabrina(And across from the blond new kid), she kicked off the conversation.
"Hello, I'm Marinette Dupain-Cheng, one of your classmates." She introduced herself while reaching a hand over to the sole male of the table.
She also had to squint her eyes once his beaming smile came into existence again.
"Hi! I'm Adrien Agreste! I hope we can be friends!" He replied while excitedly shaking her offered hand.
'Agreste? Ah, so that's where I recognise him from.' As someone with a heavy interest in the fashion industry, Marinette knew all of the big names by heart, including the famous Gabriel brand.
"Ugh, I don't understand why you're bothering with talking to her Adri-kins, after all you could be talking to me instead!" And of course, Chloe just had to insert herself into the conversation somehow.
"Come on Chloe, I'm here to make friends. Plus, it'd be rude to ignore her after she politely introduced herself." Adrien said patiently despite his slight exasperation at his childhood friend's antics.
He knew that Chloe could get a little protective(And, admittedly, clingy) of him, but he also knew to be patient with her, since that was just the way she is.
"Hmph! Whatever!" She replied while turning her head away from him.
"Sorry about that, Chloe can be a little bit possessive at times." Adrien said as he returned his attention to the bluenette.
"It's alright, I've been in the same class as her for years now, so I'm used to it." Marinette responded calmly.
"So... uh, friends?" The sunshine child said awkwardly as he extended his hand for a handshake.
"Sure, why not?" The secret superhero replied, a bit amused at the blond's shyness.
And- Oh god her eyes! Why and how does his smile summon the sun!?
"Well I hate to cut this short, but I should really be getting back to my other friends. But if you ever want to hang out, just say so." Marinette said calmly despite her burning retinas before grabbing her lunch and moseying back on over to Alya, Emile, and Nino.
Unbeknown to her, she just made Adrian's day.
Adrien's Friend Counter - [3(Chloe, Sabrina, and Marinette]
To Adrien, his first day of school was a success!
Meanwhile, back with Marinette
"Sooooooo, how did it go?" Alya asked with a cheeky grin on her face.
"I've reached the Friend Level with him." She replied with a small smile and thumbs up.
If Alya was gonna insist that she was in love with Adrian, might as well enjoy the amusement that comes from it.
Hmm... Maybe she should get the rest of the class in on it.
You know, for amusement.
"Good job girl! First friendship, then a romantic relationship!" Alya exclaimed as she threw an arm around the French/Chinese/Italian girl(bet you didn't know Marinette was also part Italian).
"Yeah." She replied with a smile and an affectionate eye roll at her friend's antics.
You know, it's moments like these that make her enjoy life for what it is, peaceful and calm, while still being fun.
Marinette's Room - After School
And it's moments like these that make her wish she could just dip out of existence for a while.
"Manon get back here!" She called out while still chasing the smol child.
"Hahahaha!" Said child laughed as they ran circles around the teen.
Meanwhile Tikki was floating near the ceiling, watching the two run around in amusement.
Hey, she's an ancient entity quite literally older than time itself, she has to prevent boredom somehow.
And it was either this, or reminisce on the past, but... Honestly, she'd rather not fall into her memories...
Focusing back on the Humans in the room, she noticed that at some point, Alya had arrived and was now conversing with her Holder about going to the park.
You know, it was kinda funny how quickly things can change when you're not paying attention to them.
Oh well. Using her very very expansive experience, she easily snuck her way into her Holder's purse without being seen.
She's literally been around since before the Earth itself was even starting to be a speck in the universe, so she has had plenty of time to pick up on a lot of tricks and perfect her stealthiness.
(#SneakyTikki)
The trip to the park didn't take too long since it was relatively close to Marinette's home.
Once they arrived, they saw a photoshoot taking place with none other than Adrien himself modelling for it.
Said green-eyed boy was currently wearing a black T-shirt, light grey shorts, and white sneakers.
Seeing his new friend, Adrien instinctively gave a beaming smile and waved at her happily, completely forgetting about his photoshoot.
Vincent, his photographer, was just about to tell Adrien to focus until he noticed how said blond seemed to glow when looking at that blue-haired girl.
Looking between the two of them, and seeing that the girl didn't look half bad(Not bad at all, in fact), he made his decision.
While she wasn't originally meant to be part of the photoshoot he can fortunately adapt on the fly, and some fresh pasta is just what he needs(Spaghetti metaphor)!
"You! How would you to model with young Agreste here?" Vincent asked the girl.
"Huh? Me?" Marinette asked while pointing at herself.
"Indeed! We haven't done a collaboration photoshoot in some time, and you could definitely be a model alongside young Agreste here!" The man said passionately, thinking about some spaghetti metaphors he could use to help them pose.
Seeing Adrien looking at her happily, and Alya not so subtly mention she doesn't mind looking after Manon for some time, she decided it couldn't hurt.
She still wished that it was her designs being modelled instead of being a model herself, but oh well.
"Sure, why not?"
"Excellente!"
What followed was a professional photoshoot involving both Adrien and Marinette, but quickly evolved into the two of them just posing like goofs.
They did a couple of Jojo poses(Jojo!), the classic Titanic scene with Marinette holding Adrien(#GenderEquality), the two of them flexing their muscles(Marinette had the bigger muscles), even a cool action shot where they both backflipped off the fountain simultaneously(They both landed on their feet).
And meanwhile Vincent was just loving their energy!
Perhaps he could convince the bluenette to model more with his usual blondie.
Overall, it was a pretty good time for all of them.
Well, that was until the weather took the turn for the worse.
However, they knew something was wrong, as the clouds had darkened far too quickly, and the wind was blowing far too hard for it to be normal.
And then they saw the likely cause of the sudden weather change, flying through the air.
An Akuma.
"Yeah... Sorry to cut this short Adrien, but I'd rather go hide than..." Marinette trailed off, already inching away from the model.
"Got it, but it was fun while it lasted though!" Adrien replied in understanding before running off to hide.
Following the blond's example, Marinette ran and hid behind some trees.
"A weather-based Akuma, this will be a tricky one based on the Champions I've seen in the past." Tikki said as she phased out of Marinette's purse.
"Any advice then?" Her Holder asked, watching in concern as the Akuma froze over the carousel that Alya and Manon were on.
"Try avoiding open areas and expect sudden changes in the environment, such as the ground suddenly becoming ice." The Kwami answered, also worried for the two Humans.
Getting a nod of understanding, her Miraculous Holder said the magic words.
"Tikki, Spots On!"
After the magic washed over her, she left her hiding spot and ran to the carousel as the Akuma was leaving.
"Scarlett!" Alya called out in relief at seeing the red and black-spotted superhero.
"Don't worry, I got this." Scarlett said, already swinging her Yoyo.
First, she attempted to wrap her Yoyo around the ice-dome to crush it, however it simply slipped off.
Next, she swung her Yoyo full force at the ice-dome, and while it bounced off it still left a noticeable crack in the ice.
But that method was much too slow for her liking.
Putting her Yoyo back on her hip, which she assumed was held there by magic or something, she cracked her knuckles in preparation.
"Clearly this requires a more, direct, approach." She said before slamming her fist strait into the ice-dome, breaking open a sizeable hole.
However it still wasn't enough to get through, so she unleashed a couple more punches to open it up more.
After the opening was big enough, she stepped aside so that Alya and Manon can get through.
"Thank you so much Scarlett!" The glasses-wearing teen said to her while carrying the child in her arms.
"No problem, just get to safety." The heroine replied before running off in the direction she saw the Akuma heading, mentally preparing herself for the confrontation.
For some reason, she doubted this one will be as easy to take down as StoneHeart.
Running through the city(And only occasionally slipping on a patch of ice), she eventually caught up with the Akuma.
Seeing the Akuma hasn't noticed her yet, Scarlett took this chance to wrap her Yoyo around one of their ankles before swinging the Akuma around and slamming them into the ground.
"Gah!" The Akuma cried out in pain before locking angry eyes on the hero, then the Yoyo's wire, before smirking.
Before Scarlett could react, the Akuma aimed their umbrella/parasol(She couldn't tell which it was) at the wire before firing a lightning bolt at it, sending electricity through it, quite literally shocking the heroine.
Dropping to her knees from pain, she shook her head to clear her mind before looking back up at the weather-menace.
Seeing the Akuma shaking their ankle that was now free from her Yoyo's wire, Scarlett concluded that while the Akuma was also effected by the lightning shock, they weren't affected as nearly as much as her, likely due to some sort of resistance.
This also likely meant that she had resistances to intense heat and extreme cold despite her dress-like costume.
As Scarlett got back on her feet, the Akuma rose into the air again, and the red and black-clad heroine didn't want to risk another electric jolt by repeating what she did prior.
Seeing the Akuma shoot a lightning bolt at her, Scarlett sidestepped it before beginning evasive maneuvers to dodge the series of lightning strikes directed at her by the Akuma.
She had to admit, dodging lightning like this kinda made her feel really cool.
Still though, eventually she was going to run out of stamina if she only continued to dodge and evade like this, but between the fact that the Akuma could fly and her not wanting to get electrocuted again by wrapping her Yoyo around their ankle, there wasn't much she could do.
Suddenly, the road she and the Akuma were fighting on began to rapidly freeze over.
Fortunately, Scarlett was able to react fast enough and jump before the ice could reach her and lock her in place.
Though she still slipped up when she landed.
Hooking her Yoyo around a lamppost, she reeled herself in to dodge another lightning strike directed at her.
Swinging around it, she began to clumsily skate away from the Akuma, mainly using her Yoyo to pull herself along the iced-over ground.
She was at a too big a disadvantage here, with the Akuma being able to both fly and call down lightning from the sky in order to attack her.
The best option right now was to retreat and strategise, think up of possible ways to counter them.
As soon as she was on solid, non-slippery ground again, she immediately ran at full speed away from the weather-menace.
She also put her Yoyo to good use, hooking it onto street lamps and othersuch to help her speed around corners without losing much speed.
After putting sufficient distance between her and the Akuma, she ducked into an alleyway.
"Tikki, Spots off." Scarlett said the detranformation phrase, turning back into good ol' Marinette.
Letting out a huff of air, she leaned against the wall and began thinking.
"Are you okay Marinette?" Her Kwami asked, concerned.
"Well considering the fact that I just got electrocuted and am literally butt-hurt from slipping on ice... I'm, fine." The Human of the pair said, not really convincing Tikki of her "Fineness".
"I- That doesn't make it sound like you're fine..." Tikki responded.
"I was trying to come across as sarcastic." Marinette said blandly with a deadpan expression.
Just as Tikki was about to reply, she suddenly phased through the wall that Marinette was leaning on.
"Marinette!" The familiar voice of the Akuma called from the entrance of the alley.
The bluenette cried in shock as she turned to the Akuma.
Now that she had time to observe them closely, she noticed that the Akuma was Aurore Beaureal, another student at Dupont who was in a different classroom.
"Oh, uh, hi Aurore!" Marinette replied nervously, really hoping that she didn't see Tikki.
"It's Stormy Weather... whatever. Have you seen Scarlett around here?" The now-named Akuma asked surprisingly calmly.
In response, Marinette just pointed the way she was headed before she ducked into the alleyway.
"Thanks." Stormy Weather said before using her power over the wind to fly off.
Once she was gone, the bluenette let out a sigh of relief.
"Well that was certainly a close one..." Tikki stated as she phased back through the wall.
"Yup, now time to think up a strategy." Marinette said as her mind went to work on a plan.
Stormy Weather seemed like she could manipulate storm elements, meaning wind, lightning, ice, probably water, and maybe even fire were all within her range of control.
She could freeze the ground, make ice structures, electrocute others with lightning, fly by manipulating the wind for an aerial advantage, and probably quite a few other things as well.
As Marinette was thinking, so was her Kwami.
'Should I inform her about one of other Powers? She seems to need it, but... It would be against protocol...' Tikki thought to herself, contemplating.
However, neither of them had any more time to think as somehow Stormy Weather hijacked a news station and started broadcasting.
"Scarlett! My name is Stormy Weather, and unless you want Paris to be locked in an eternal winter I suggest that you come face me!"
"Well then... Guess I'm not allowed to think of a strategy then." Marinette said with a deadpan expression.
"Don't worry Marinette! My Ladybugs have always been quick thinkers and I'm sure you'll be no different!" Tikki tried to encourage her Chosen.
"Thanks. Now- Tikki, Spots On!" The Miraculous Holder called upon her transformation, turning back into Scarlett.
Performing a short stretch, Scarlett began using her Yoyo to make her way to the news studio while simultaneously trying to think of a plan.
Quite clearly this was a trap, but of what variety?
Was Stormy Weather going to just be waiting by the studio door for her? Or was she going to knock out the lighting once Scarlett was inside?
Or perhaps not even be inside the studio at all, and is planning to ambush her once she gets near the building!
There was even a chance she would be having to face down more Akumas, as quite a it of time has passed since Stormy Weather has emerged, so the Butterfly Villain could have possibly released another corrupted butterfly!
All these thoughts and more raced through Scarlett's head as she approached the news station, mentally preparing herself for any kind of attacks from any angle.
It wouldn't do her any favours to be caught off-guard now, would it?
Landing near the door, she immediately ducked behind the wall beside it before scanning around the area.
Nothing appeared to be out-of-place, but even so that doesn't mean she can let her guard down.
Seeing no immediate threat she went inside, quickly scanned the area, and ducked behind cover- a potted plant.
Well, flimsy cover is better than no cover.
Peaking out, she checked for any threats before moving to better cover.
She repeated this for the entire first floor before her ADHD overrode her sense of caution and had her running up the stairs at such speeds people would've merely mistaken her for a blur of red and black.
And considering the fact that she can dodge lightning, she may very well be just that.
Once she arrived at the broadcasting room her logic took over again, and thus she went to the side of the door instead of just dropkicking it open.
It probably would've been really cool though, even if it would've also been impractical and idiotic.
Opening the door as gently as she could, she peered around for any sign of Stormy Weather.
Just then the lights of the building went out, causing Scarlett to momentarily panic and slam the door shut before running like her life depended on it.
Flicking her Yoyo out, she hit the flashlight option, illuminating the hallway she was in.
Moving it around, she tried to catch sight of her opponent.
Nothing.
What she did see, however, was the stairwell.
Quickly deciding that fighting somewhere where she could see without the aid of a flashlight, she hastily climbed the several flights of stairs until she reached the roof.
Unfortunately for Scarlett, her current nemesis predicted that.
As soon as Scarlett had exited through the doors a strong burst of wind forced them close before a wall of ice formed over them.
Looking around, she noted that Stormy Weather also took the liberty to form a tornado around the building, preventing Scarlett's escape.
And from the looks of it, the tornado was also somehow electrically charged.
Clever girl.
"Heh, not so smart are you? Miss Scarlett." The corrupted weather girl gloated.
Well, at least she was kinda politely about it.
"Oh, I am smart. It's just that doesn't mean others aren't going to outsmart me from time to time." Scarlett quipped in response.
Nailed it!
"Well lets see if you're smart enough to dodge this!" The storm-themed Akuma said before firing off several lightning bolts at the ladybug-themed Miraculous Holder.
'Dammit that was terrible!' Stormy Weather berated herself in her head.
Meanwhile Scarlett was feeling like a complete boss being able to dodge her opponent's lighting attacks.
That was, until, she slipped on some ice she didn't notice forming below her and landed face-first on the concrete roof.
Ouch.
Quickly taking note of where she was on her mental-map of the roof, Scarlett hurriedly rolled to her left, putting her strait under an elevated air vent, preventing any electrical attacks from reaching her.
Unfortunately for her Stormy Weather covered both sides of the vent with ice, preventing Scarlett's escape and trapping her.
"Why don't you just hand over your Miraculous Scarlett? That way there's much less trouble for everyone!" Her opponent called down to her, although she didn't land and give up her aerial advantage.
Meanwhile Scarlett's mind was racing for a way out.
Trying to smash through the ice would be too slow as Stormy Weather would surely notice the attempt to break out and retaliate.
Smashing through the roof to the floor below would also be a highly unlikely solution due to her not having enough elbow room to gain proper momentum for an actual strike.
But, that just left the air... Vent!
It was time to be Sus!
And so, Scarlett smiled as she reached up and ripped!
While Scarlett was thinking, Stormy Weather was getting rather impatient just waiting, when she heard it.
The unholy screeching of metal being forcefully torn apart.
Dropping down to the ground, she arrived just in time to see the last of Scarlett's legs disappearing into the vent above what used to be her makeshift prison.
Dammit! Why didn't she see that coming!
Back within the metallic confines of the vent, Scarlett was quickly scurrying through it like a lab rat through a maze.
Fortunately she was gifted with a very flexible body, making turning the corners of the vent quite easy.
Suddenly, a spike of pure ice was shoved through the vent in front of her, causing an immediate halt on the heroine's part.
She got moving again once a second ice spike grazed the side of her leg.
Slipping around the first spike, she used the walls of the vent to push herself forward faster, occasionally stopping to avoid an ice spike that came down in front of her.
Just as she turned a corner she saw her salvation from the icy-onslaught, a vent cover leading back down into the building!
Rapidly crawling over to it(And dodging an icicle along the way), she easily tore the cover off with her Miraculous-enhanced strength.
She then stuck her head through while gripping the edge closest to her, letting her momentum carry her into a front-flip which allowed her to land perfectly on her feet.
Man did she feel cool just then!
But she didn't allow herself to get lost in her own joy at being cool, as she just knew Stormy Weather would be coming after her.
Ok, time to make a plan.
So far head-to-head confrontations with Stormy Weather ended up with a loss for Scarlett, so that was out of the question.
That left indirect methods of attack, but how to go about it?
Long-ranged bombardment?
She didn't have any ranged attacks aside from tossing her Yoyo, and she didn't want to be electricuted again.
Also, she highly doubted throwing mundane objects at the Akuma would cause much- if any, damage.
Falsely surrendering to get close to her?
Out of the question, getting too close to Stormy Weather while she's aware of Scarlett's presence would most likely end with her Miraculous being taken.
An ambush?
Scarlett paused upon that thought.
That could actually work!
With all the doors and corners in the building there are no shortage of ambush-spots, so she had quite a lot of space to work with.
But it would be best if she had something to distract her prey before initiating her attack.
After all, if Stormy Weather was busy focusing on something, then she was less likely to notice Scarlett's approach.
It maximised her chance of success while minimising risk, both positives that she enjoyed immensely.
Looking at the hallway she was in, Scarlett made her plan.
She picked a random room, observing for materials she could use to make her distraction.
There wasn't much, but she did find a dumbbell that she could use(She guessed that someone liked to workout at work).
But aside from that, there wasn't much else.
Hmm... Perhaps it's time to try out her second Power.
"Lucky Charm" Scarlett called upon the Power that allowed her to create a random object, hoping for something she could use.
A loveliness of ladybugs came out of her yoyo and formed... A weight scale?
Actually, this was exactly what she needed!
She pulled on the magically infinitely extending wire of her Yoyo to a good length, put the main body on the room desk, placed the dumbbell over the wire, and finally positioned the weight scale below them.
Finally, she went out of the room, pulled the door till it was mostly closed, and entered the room on the opposite side of the hall.
And now, it was time to play the waiting game.
Fortunately for her patience, Stormy Weather didn't take too long in arriving in the hallway that Scarlett decided to make her trap.
She waited until her prey walked right on by her hiding, completely unaware of her presence.
And then, she pulled the Ladybug Yoyo's wire, causing the main body of it(along with the dumbbell) to fall down onto the weight scale, creating enough noise to attract the Akuma's attention.
Scarlett watched through the crack in the door as Stormy Weather slowly approached the trap-room before standing up and mentally preparing for step 2 of the plan.
This part was risky, but it could also end the battle here and now.
As soon as Stormy Weather opened the trap-room door Scarlett threw her hiding-room door open and immediately charged the Akumatised girl, dropkicking her into the trap-room and, just as Scarlett wanted, dropped her umbrella/parasol.
Not wasting the opportunity, she immediately stomped down on it, releasing the Akuma and returning the girl to normal.
Once the corrupted butterfly was in the air it was quite easy to catch it.
"Miracle Cure" Scarlett said to unleash her other Power.
Instantly, a colossal swarm of ladybugs came from her Yoyo and went to fix all of the damages that occurred during the battle.
Afterwards, a pure white butterfly emerged, cleansed of it's corrupted energy.
Scarlett let out a sigh of relief as the magical insectoids washed over her, healing all the damage she sustained from the fight.
After getting up, she made her way over to Aurore.
"Hey, you ok?" The Miraculous Holder asked the freshly de-Akumatised person.
"I... I turned into a monster, didn't I?" The blonde asked, looking down(Both literally and metaphorically).
"You were Akumatised, yes. But I hope you know it wasn't your fault." Scarlett replied, placing a comforting hand on the girl's shoulder.
"But..."
"Look, if you're gonna blame anyone, then blame me for not informing Paris about how Akumatisation works."
"But-!" Aurore looked ready to rebuke Scarlett's statement, only to be stopped by a light bonk on the head, courtesy of Scarlett's hand.
"No buts aside from the ones attached to us. Look, it's not your fault that you were Akumatised, and you shouldn't blame yourself for something that wasn't your fault." Scarlett said in a kind, but stern tone.
"Ok..." The blonde didn't look entirely convinced, but still nodded in acceptance.
"Good, now I gotta go. Are you gonna be ok from here?" At Aurore's nod Scarlett immediately bolted out of the room.
'Oh my Kwami I forgot about Manon! I'm SOOOOOO gonna have to get her ice cream to make up for it!' The scarlet heroine thought as she opened a window and leaped out of it, zipping away on her Yoyo.
Landing in an alley close to the park, she detransformed back into good ol' Marinette before sprinting back.
Quickly spotting Alya and Manon, she ran over to them and picked them both up into a bear hug.
"Are you two ok!? I saw how dangerous the Akuma was!" The bluenette asked her bestie and little sister(Family isn't bound by blood!).
"Hehehehe! Yeah girl, we're fine." Alya replied, amused by her friend's antics(And kinda impressed at her strength).
"Phew, I'm glad." Marinette said, putting the two of them down.
"Marinette! Alya! Are you two ok?" Adrien called for them as he came running.
"Adrien? What are you still doing here?" The superheroine in disguise(Kinda) asked, a mixture of curiosity and concern within her.
By her own guess, Marinette/Scarlett took at least 20 minutes dealing with the Akuma, if not a full half-hour. So why was her blond classmate still here?
"Well, uh... I was worried about you." Said blond spoke with a smol blush and nervous smile.
"Heh, thanks blondie!" Alya replied with a gentle nudge to Adrien's arm.
"No problem! That's what friends are for, right?" The sunshine child said with a blinding smile.
Fortunately for Manon, Marinette had already gotten used to this boy's smiles, and knew to cover the younger girl's eyes before she lost the use of her eyeballs.
"Still, thanks Adrien." Marinette said, even if she was averting her eyes from his frame so as to not go blind.
"Again, no problem!"
The four of them then stood around for a few seconds, none of them sure how to continue the conversation.
Just as Adrien was about to speak, he felt a drop of water land on his cheek, causing him to look up at the darkening sky.
"Huh? Is the Akuma back?" Alya asked, subtly bringing out her phone to record the possible rematch.
"No, this rain is coming down much too slow for it to be Stormy Weather again." Marinette replied, holding a hand out to catch a few of the falling droplets.
"Stormy Weather?" The brunette questioned her bestie.
"Yeah, apparently Akumas have their own unique name they go by." The bluenette responded, recalling that small discussion with Tikki.
"Huh, neat." Alya said, putting her phone away.
Suddenly, an open umbrella was positioned over their heads.
Looking down the arm holding it up, the girls saw that it was Adrien.
"Thought you'd prefer being dry over getting rained on." He explained.
"Thanks, but don't you also need this umbrella?" Marinette asked.
"My bodyguard is driving me home, so I'll be safe from the rain in the car."
"If you're sure." Marinette said, gently taking the handle.
"Alright, well, I'll see you two at school!" The sunshine child spoketh before running to his faithful bodyguard.
The three girls watched the car leave before deciding to head back themselves.
"Today was a fun day. Weird, but fun." Marinette stated, thinking back to her new blond friend.
"You said it girl." Alya concurred, wanting to just flop onto her bed and take a nine hour-long nap.
And thus concluded their day of excitement and adventure.
Omake - Wholesome (Feral)Classmates Time
Ivan kept his head down.
Ever since he had become that rock monster, school had been... Difficult.
While no one had gotten into a physical altercation with him(Yet), their not-so-subtle comments still stung.
Just like his most recent heckler, who was making another "Rocky" joke.
So original.
He wasn't even that mad about it, just incredibly annoyed at the lack of creativity.
But just then-
"Dynamic Entry!"
-Kim came right out of nowhere and dropkicked the guy!
And after him Alix and Emile('That was his name, right?') strait up jumped the guy like feral animals!
And Kim just stood up like nothing happened and walked over to him(Ivan)!
"Hey man, I just wanted to say I'm sorry about what happened in class. It's just I don't why you won't confess to Mylene already!" The affable/friendly jock said to the gentle giant.
Emile clocked Heckler in the jaw.
"I... I'm not going to say it's ok, but I'm willing to put it behind us." Ivan spoke softly, intentionally avoiding the topic of his love for a certain adorable girl in their classroom.
Alix kicked Heckler in the balls.
"But that still doesn't answer the question of why you don't just talk to Mylene about your feelings already!" Kim exclaimed, wanting the big guy to get together with his crush and be happy already!
Emile bit Heckler's arm.
"Because what's the point of confessing to someone if you know they don't like you back!?" Ivan retorted, getting agitated.
Both Alix and Emile elbow-dropped Heckler.
"But, I do like you Ivan..." Ivan's anger got extinguished like a candle in a thunderstorm as he heard Mylene's voice behind him.
Turning around, the tallest guy in their class felt his heart somehow both speed up and completely stop at the same time.
"Y-you do?..." His voice came out weakly, but still audible.
"Y-yes I do!" The smol bean replied, looking away in an attempt to hide her blush.
In Ivan's opinion, it just made her look even more adorable.
He was so enraptured by her cuteness that he failed to notice that Kim went to join Alix and Emile in beating up Heckler.
"So... Uh, wanna go out sometime?" Ivan asked, nervous.
"Su-sure! Time and place?"
At this point the three were just kicking Heckler while he was down, Gangstar-style.
"How about a walk down the Seine after school, we can even visit Juleka and Luka at The Liberty!"
"Sounds like a plan!"
And like that, a new romance blossomed in the class.
And Heckler screamed in pain.
-Bonus-
"I'm so showing this at their wedding." Alya said as she stopped recording.
"I can't wait to see their reactions." Marinette stated with a grin, having planned this whole interaction.
That's correct! Marinette was the scheming to set this whole thing up! She was the mastermind behind the whole operation!
[Operation: Cuddle Bears]
Omake - An Artist and His Best(Friend) Muse
-Set during the Stormy Weather battle-
Nathaniel hummed as he drew.
He was currently sitting on a bench in the park, drawing his long-time best friend, Alix Kubdel.
Their friendship was a weird one, but they made it work.
A shy, introverted artist and a rough-n-tough skater girl? Who would expect them to be best friends?
Anyway, the weather just changed, and, surprisingly, it was helping with his current drawing!
Alix was standing in front of him, wearing a barrette and fake moustache and holding a baguette like a mother would a baby.
She was also wearing her normal attire aside from that, creating an amusing disconnect.
They occasionally did silly things like this whenever he got Artist's Block(The bane of his existence).
And so, he drew his ridiculous-looking best friend as the new hero of Paris swung by with that villainised weather girl flying after her.
Although the chaotic wind blew some of his hair into his face and knocked Alix's hat off, which was annoying.
But, well, that was life.
Sometimes, it just didn't go your way.
Omake - Scarlett's First Interview
-Time: Few hours after school-
Alya jerked at the knock on her window.
Looking over, she saw the latest heroine of Paris herself!
Rushing over, Alya practically threw open the window to let the scarlet crusader in.
"Hello Mlle. Cesaire." The hero greeted her best friend(Not that Alya knew that).
"Hey Scarlett! Not that I mind but.. Why are you here?"
"Well, I promised you an interview, right?"
She could practically see the light shining in Alya's eyes as she said that.
"Awesome! Just let me get my phone real quick!"
"But of course."
It didn't take Alya long to get everything set up, and once she did, the interview began.
"Hey everyone! Alya Cesaire here with an exclusive interview with the new heroine of Paris herself, Scarlett!" The aspiring reporter started them off.
"Hello everybody, I hope you're enjoying your day." Scarlett said with a small smile and a little wave.
"So Scarlett, the last couple of days have been crazy and everyone is wondering just what is going on in the city of love?"
"I assumed as much. But before I can fully explain the situation, some background context needs to be added."
"Ooo, looks like it's time for some juicy exposition!"
Scarlett proceeded to explain the basics of the Miraculous.
They were ancient magical jewels with small entities called "Kwamis" attached to them. Kwamis were essentially condensed aspects of abstract reality and, through the Miraculous, could grant their Miraculous Holder special abilities. Normally, these abilities would be used by heroes to help and protect people, but unfortunately the Miraculous had no safeguards against being used for more malicious purposes.
"And thus, leads to the current situation." Scarlett capped off her small explanation.
"So... The whole people turning into villains thing is the result of a Miraculous being misused?" Alya asked.
"Unfortunately, yes. As I said, there are no safeguards preventing someone from doing it." The hero replied with a solemn expression.
"That... Seems like a massive oversight on the creator's part." The reporter concluded.
"Indeed. If it were me I'd at least put in some failsafe just in case the Miraculous were used for evil, like letting the Kwamis just refuse a transformation."
"Well, what's done is done. So, what's the specs on the Miraculous causing this?" Alya questioned.
"Well, the Butterfly Miraculous, the one being misused, is linked to Nooroo, Kwami of Transmission. The specific Power being misused is called "Metamorphosis", it normally allows the Butterfly Holder to empower others into heroic Champions through their emotions, but in the case of an evil Holder..."
"It makes villains."
"Well, they're called Akumas, but same-difference I guess. But the one thing you should note is that the people who are transformed into Akumas are not to be blamed. When Metamorphosis is being used for evil purposes it's essentially mind control. It may be their bodies committing the act, but the person underneath doesn't even remember what happened during their time as an Akuma."
"So, they're nothing more than victims?"
"Exactly, victims that were simply unlucky enough to be brainwashed into fighting for a madman." Scarlett stated, making sure to use a firm tone.
"Dang... Well, is there a way to prevent... Akumatisation?" Alya asked while also testing the new word.
"There is actually two methods, with the second being funnier than the first." She replied with a cheeky smirk.
"Well then, mind explaining for the audience?"
"The first is the logical conclusion on how to counter it. You see, Metamorphosis utilises strong emotions to transform others, with Akuma Butterflies specifically targeting negative ones. So the best way to avoid them is to simply take a breath and calm down. No emotions, nothing to use for Akumatisation."
"That makes sense, but what about the second way?"
At this, Scarlett strait up laughed.
"Well you see, Mlle. Cesaire- the Akuma Butterflies need to possess an inanimate object in order to transform a person, so if you're not wearing any gloves or bracelets, it's quite safe to simply catch the Akuma Butterflies with your bare hands!" She explained, amused by such a simple and exploitable weakness.
"Well then I guess it's a good thing I don't accessorise then!" Alya joked, waving her bare hand in front of her phone for emphasis.
"Indeed."
From there, Scarlett continued to answer some of Alya's questions.
Would she be right in guessing Scarlett held the Ladybug Miraculous? Yes she would.
What were her Powers? Miracle Cure and Lucky Charm.
What did they do? Miracle Cure was her restoration wave Power while Lucky Charm created an item that could help her achieve her goal.
If she had two Powers, did the Butterfly also have two? Yes, but she won't state what the second is in case the evil Holder didn't know what it was.
How many more Miraculous were there? She didn't know.
Would she be getting teammates in the future? She hoped so.
Was it possible for her to gain more Powers? Maybe?
On and on it went, but eventually it came to an end.
"Phew, glad that's over with." Scarlett said as she stood up and stretched.
"Well my apologies if my interview was boring!" Alya responded with a smile and a lighthearted tone, not really taking offence.
"Sorry, it's just I'm not used to much attention outside of friends and family."
"It's cool, just tell me if you're uncomfortable and we can take a break." She knew how to edit multiple videos together, so doing the whole thing in a single sitting wasn't needed.
"Will do. But anyway, I better get going." Scarlet stated, walking to the window.
"Alright, feel free to drop in whenever you're ready for Interview 2: Electric Boogaloo!" Alya replied cheekily.
This got a laugh out of the scarlet heroine.
"I'll hold you to that, Mlle. Cesaire." Was her final words as she grappled a chimney with her yoyo and swung off.
"Au Revoir!" The reporter called out as the hero left.
This had to be the best day of her life!

Holy shit, I'm finally done!
I would say I'm sorry, but I've been very distracted with various things in my life(Like playing games, kissing and loving my girlfriend, RPing with my best friend, and being an overall dingus).
Also I got addicted to Hollow Knight, so yeah.
All other Hollow Knight fans will understand where I'm coming from!
But anyways... TV Tropes, I like 'em, and since I don't know how to make my own page on the site, I'ma put my own Tropes at the buttom here.
Don't like it? Tough.
TV Tropes
Adaptional Badass: Marinette is noticeably stronger here than canon, being able to solo both Stoneheart and Stormy Weather and come out victorious.
-In the "Scarlett's First Interview" Omake, the Butterfly is said to have a second Power, when most canon Miraculous only have one.
Adaptional Personality Change: Marinette here is much more calm and level-headed than her canon self
Adaptional Superpower Change: As mentioned above, the Butterfly has a second Power, this implies that the other Miraculous also have extra Powers.
Named By The Adaption: In canon, Hawkmoth never says the Butterfly's Power Name, but here it's referred to as "Metamorphosis".

If you guys would like to add to this, please do as I wonder what Tropes apply to my fanfic.
And this isn't just a way for me to encourage you to give me the Reviews that grant me life.
Nope.
Nada.
Edit - 05/03/2023 - 22:10/10:10PM: Fuck, I forgot about the Review Responses!
Oh my Kwami.
Fortunately, this is easily fixable.
bigvic150: Thank you, and I'll most certainly try to keep it up(Though it's unlikely)!
But anyway, much like Alya said in the last Omake, Au Revoir Amigos.
