Is this Halloween fic 18 days late? Yes. Is it a sequel to a crossover fic no one has read? Yes.

Just a fun little holiday fic set within the world of "Lance Hunter and Deke Shaw's Haven for Extraordinary Teens." Enjoy!

"This place is insane," Deke said, unable to see the end of the store from here, though he thought he remembered it being a lot smaller when it was a Burlington.

"I think it's cool," Gar said.

Kurt had already disappeared into the decked-out aisles.

"Well, go nuts. You and your brother get whatever you want."

"We're going to have the greatest Halloween ever," Gar said, pumping up his fists before darting into the store.

Deke idly walked the perimeter, picking up plastic bats and placing them back down. Some of the stuff was a little gory but he wasn't spooked until Kurt suddenly appeared next to him. He was still getting used to having a son who could teleport.

"Are you going to dress up?" Kurt asked, holding a Doctor Strange costume.

"Nah, I've spent enough of my life pretending to be someone else, I don't need to do it on Halloween too."

"Fair point," Kurt said. "But sometimes it's fun to be someone else. Being me… Not always great."

"What? Bud, you're awesome."

"Yeah, I know. But sometimes I like to pretend I'm someone who didn't have to go through all those terrible things me and Gar went through."

Drive nodded, putting a hand on Kurt's shoulder.

"I'm so sorry you went through all that. But I'm going to make sure things don't ever get that bad ever again."

Kurt smiled. "Thanks, dad."

"Tell me about your costume," Deke requested.

"I'm gonna go as Doctor Strange. I think it's cool, how he figured out how to bend the universe to his will."

"Yeah, I guess that is pretty cool." It was also terrifying, but Deke didn't say that.

"Have you ever met him?"

"The only superhero I've met is your Aunt Daisy."

"Oh! Is she gonna trick-or-treat with us?" Gar asked, reappearing with an armful of decorations, candy, and a Hulk costume.

"No, but Nana and Bobo will be there."

"Awesome," Gar grinned, putting his loot in the cart.

"Is that everything?" Deke asked, taking stock.

"Are you sure you don't want a costume?" Kurt asked.

"Well, what do you think I should be?"

And that was how Deke ended up going as Iron Man for Halloween flanked by Doctor Strange and a very short Hulk.
