Riding Horseback

Post_Script_13

Summary:

Summary: Shortly after Kit decides to leave the others behind at the Nelwyn Village (ep. 2), her trusted horse demands a break from their ride and forces Kit to continue guiding them on foot. Once the others catch up to her on the road, Kit is forced to ride with Jade on horseback for the rest of the day's journey. However, being so physically close to Jade for the first time since the night of Airk's abduction ignites sensual feelings within her that she has never experienced before, but can't help getting completely lost in.

But just do what you want, you always do.

Those last words that Jade had spoken to her right before departing from the Nelwyn Village stung Kit harder than she would have liked to admit. However, given the fact that her brother was currently being held captive by the Gales ,as they had just learned from Willow, Kit knew her reactions demanded a more proud response from the royal family of Tir Asleen, and she quickly took matters into her own hands.

Still, the words rang back to her periodically with a vengeance as Kit made her way farther down the dirt road. During her desperate attempt to put as much distance between herself and the others behind her, Kit started to realize her ride had become noticeably bumpier and slower, given their already slack pace.

Recognizing the long dramatic steps, Kit took a deep sigh and took in her surroundings, contemplating her options. She had ridden her horse a bit farther than her horse, Eclipse was normally accustomed to, and in a very short amount of time.

Eclipse therefore was beginning to become noticeably disgruntled with the rocky path- not that she had trouble showing it, as Kit received a harsher bump from the beast beneath her, both of them grunting in response.

Kit wasn't surprised with the horse's sudden distaste for the open road, given the abundance of rocks, sticks, and muck, that currently littered the natural path beneath them. Not even the best blacksmith could produce horseshoes that would be of any match to the cobbled muck that welcomed them on the road onward.

Not wanting to be caught in the openness of the valley, but also not wanting to further test the limitations and patience of her ride, Kit figured she could encourage Eclipse far enough to the crest of the hill, where she could continue walking her on foot and out of sight.

She encouraged her onward "Come on, just a little bit over that edge, posh girl," Kit persuaded. Once at the top, she could be out of sight from the open valley. Finally reaching the mount, Kit took a final look behind her to make sure she was still alone. Seeing no one, Kit dismounted and grabbed the reigns with a bit of a grimace on her face; damning the fact that the manipulative beast she had trained with her entire life was so quick to throw in the towel this early into their first quest.

Eclipse seemed happy enough to be relieved of the weight because when Kit started walking them forward on foot, Eclipse skipped lightly ahead into a trot that made Kit smile for the first time since she had left Jade and the others behind. Though she was happy that her horse was at least partially satisfied for the moment, Kit quickly dropped the smile and redeemed her composure – feeling almost ashamed and embarrassed to have a smile on her face.

After a long stretch on the dry road, Kit was still fixated on how she left things with Jade, and for some reason couldn't shake the feeling of guilt. Surely, the others had come to the realization by now that they had to leave the Nelwyn Village behind and carry on with the quest that her mother – their queen – had entrusted to them.

Nevertheless, Airk was her brother, and she was going to save him with or without their help.

In the quiet of the countryside, Kit heard a slaughtry trot from come from behind her, purposefully becoming louder and decidedly more noticeable with each step. Kit knew who would be owning to that sultry strut, but was still disappointed to find Boorman's lengthy figure dismount and walk absentmindedly in her direction and turned her face into a sideways grimace.

Kit looked off momentarily and allowed herself a moment to prepare for the long, dramatic lecture that no doubt was about to follow. For some reason, she had this weird feeling that she had just been caught doing something wrong.

Rolling her eyes (but relieved to be no longer alone), Kit stopped and waited for the man she wasn't too sure if she trusted yet, to approach and deliver his well-planned lecture that she was all too ready to get out of the way.

As Boorman made his advance, Kit stole a moment to gaze beyond his limber figure to see who else had accompanied him on his journey: hoping he didn't come alone. Kit felt immediately ashamed and vulnerable when she met eyes with Jade, but was also happy to be near her again. In fact, the butterflies in her stomach were almost too overwhelming that she became slightly nauseous during the exchange and took a pause and a deep breath in to regain herself and refocus on Boorman.

Wow, you really covered some distance.
Yeah, I'm really not in the mood for banter.

So, you're telling me you know what happened to him?
Oh yea. He found it.

Kit had never wanted something that Boorman said to be more true than what he had just revealed to her. Learning that he might have some insight as to what happened to her father caused Kit's legs to involuntarily stop moving. But there was no time to think about the Kymerian Cuirass, or why her father had left so many years ago to find it. She pushed herself forward, remembering that she had to save her brother. Then, maybe one day, the two of them could find their father and save him from whatever was keeping him from returning home. Together.

"Kit?" Boorman interrupted her thoughts as she suddenly realized that he was still talking to her. Or had just asked her a question, one or the other.

"What?"

"Throw a shoe?" Boorman repeated. The question confused her at first, so she offered the large man a blank, open-mouthed stare in return that begged elaboration.

"What's wrong with the horse?" he said from the side of his mouth motioning his head back in the direction of the burly beast.

"Oh, she's fine." Kit answered easily. Boorman looked as if he didn't believe her, so she took a deep breath and continued: "Well, let's just say she's spent her entire life so far being catered-to and spoon-fed within the safe, comfortable gates of Tir Asleen." Kit explained, "Sleeping in clean stalls, fresh water every morning and all through the night, never having to walk farther than the circumference of the castle grounds in a single day, let alone halfway across the continent and to the ends of our world."

Boorman chuckled and Kit breathlessly carried on. "So let's just say she's a little tired of her first cross-country adventure." Kit concluded, secretly wondering if Jade had caught the little compliment, she had thrown in regarding the clean horse stalls.

Boorman laughed confidently and gave the horse a solid pat on the neck just behind Kit's head. "Ah, she's a good girl!" he smiled, stroking the horse. "Just always had good people taking care of her, eh?" Boorman offered. Kit half-turned her head back towards Jade at the comment, but felt her eyes were already upon her and quickly abandoned her attempt.

"Welp!" Boorman interjected "We're going to set up camp on the other side of this wood up ahead." He paused, "And once we pass through, there will be a nice clearing with enough cover to let us, and the horses, get a chance to eat and rest for the night," Boorman continued, now speaking low so only just the two of them could hear. "And if we ride there, we will get their before dark and be able to set up camp properly, safely."

Boorman slowed their walking pace to a stop and Kit followed suit, beginning to catch his meaning. "Well, how much farther is it?"

"Far 'enuff" Silas answered for Boorman from the carriage that had stopped behind them. She was suddenly very aware of how many eyes were upon her.

More silence followed, and Kit knew there was no point in further testing the limits of her spoiled horse, but also didn't want to be the reason for slowing down the group's progress. Besides, she had been walking a good portion of the distance so far and the blisters on her feet had started to swell against the fabric of her shoes.

Finally, she gave a submissive look towards Boorman and let out a heavy sigh.

"Excellent! Here you first!" Boorman threw his large hand up, motioning to his steed. The comment was met with eye rolls from everyone except Graydon, who was more intrigued with Boorman's confidence rather than offended.

"Kidding." Boorman smiled. Behind them, Jade rolled her eyes again as she dismounted.

"No wait, she's my fiancé… I should…" Graydon started to say.

"You're right, you should." Boorman interjected, "But let's be honest mate, you're not going to though, are ya?" he said, clearly pleased with his anecdote. "You should give the horse a break and ride in the wagon with Willow and Elora then," he motioned to the covered wagon, but both Kit and Boorman knew that wasn't really an option.

"Okay, thank you everyone!" Jades' voice came jolting in from behind and was immediately awarded with everyone's attention.

Jade continued effortlessly, "But my horse, Duncan has had to carry the both of us home many times when hers would fill up on field grass or wander off back to the stables on its own, so" she paused and shot a glance around to the others, "So he can manage the two of us until we make it to camp." Jade stated firmly, yet kindly, in her soft accent, only making eye contact with Kit for a brief moment during her entire speech.

Hearing no immediate objections, Jade made her way over to Kit and gently took the reigns from her Princess's hands in order to tie Eclipse to her own saddle, so she would know to follow her own steed.

Seeing no other option and not wanting to cause any further delay, Kit quickly climbed upon Jade's stallion and placed herself toward the front of the saddle, finding herself much higher off the ground on Jade's horse than she was on her own. Once they both were seated comfortably, they instinctively situated themselves against one another as they had done a thousand times before. Gripping the edge of the saddle in front of her, Kit sat upright and tried to ignore the warm body she felt pulsing from behind her.

"Ready!?" She announced to everyone hoping to ease some of the tension as Jade continued to position herself behind her.

"All right, let's bang on then!" Boorman announced as he began forward, starting to hum to himself out loud, while Graydon followed behind the others in the horse-drawn cart. Kit and Jade followed in the rear.

Jade thrusted her hips forward in response to Boorman's suggestion, encouraging Duncan to begin his walking pace, but the sudden hip thrust directly into her backside surprised Kit, causing the butterflies to return to the pit of her stomach and her cheeks to turn a deep shade of red. Instinctively, Kit leaned back into Jade to help balance the change in weight distribution, but also to keep herself from keeling over altogether.

Graydon had momentarily struggled with his mare who was obviously agitated with anything the young Prince requested. Graydon secretly wished he could crawl into the safe enclosure of the covered wagon, but didn't want to appear feeble, so he let the mare have her moment before sprinting forward to the head of the group just behind Boorman.

The horse's rocking back and forth caused more friction as Jade's hips moved against Kit's in unison with each step from Jade's horse, affectionately named Duncan. Kit wondered if their bodies were always this close to each other when they rode together in the past, or if she was just noticing Jade's body more now than ever. It was the first time they had been this physically close to one another since the night Airk was taken and suddenly, this once-favorite pastime for them of sharing a horse ride together, had now become dangerous territory.

Jade's chest brushed against the base of Kit's shoulder blades with each bounce and she tried to ignore the peaks of her companions' nipples grazing her taught back, but couldn't help but focus on them the entire time. She desperately wanted to retain her defiant state but was afraid her proud posture was beginning to come across as anger with her riding partner. So Kit kept her gaze straight ahead, and acted as if she was more preoccupied with the task of the ride rather than how the warm body behind her was making her lips quiver and her body ache with desire.

Kit wondered if the ride was causing Jade to endure the same turmoil and angst that she was currently having to withstand, but instead what Kit felt behind her was a tactful and experienced rider, guiding her horse in both direction and pace with the strength of her thighs and the thrusts of her hips. Kit had learned as a child how to ride, tame, and care for a horse, but she was nowhere near the rider Jade was, and no where near as confident. Feeling her posture begin to fall into a slouch, Kit quickly straightened her back and fixated her gaze ahead, as if she had been focused on the road the entire time. Still fully meshed to the front of Jade's body, Kit realized all the muscles in her torso were rigid as stone. She wanted to relax, but that was easier said than done. She could, however, feel Jade's softs breathes hit the back of her ear, warmly - and she could feel her body move in harmony with the horse's tempo.

Jade's forged arms tickled the edges of Kit's shoulders while she adjusted her grip on the reigns when suddenly the lead rope in Jade's right hand nearly slipped altogether before she was able to catch it again with her pinky and ring finger in one swift motion, beginning with the twist of her shoulder. Kit jerked her head in the direction of Jade's quick save and Duncan grunted in response to his master's adjustment.

Jade sniffled and readjusted her grip, shaking off the near loss and Kit turned her head back straight ahead. Then slowly, curiously, turned her head to the left farther over her shoulder. Kit didn't realize how close Jade's mouth was, until it was practically touching hers.

They both let out a long, slow, hot breath against each other's lips before Kit weakly turned her head back around to the front, all the wetness in her mouth had dried completely.

The group continued until they could see the entrance of the wood up ahead and noticed the sun shining through the trees that welcomed them had already become a warm, orange glare - signaling the sun was preparing to set very soon. This probably (hopefully), meant they were getting close to where Boorman had intended to set up camp for the night.

Jade loosened her arms currently wrapped around the Princess and let her forearms rest against Kit's hipbones as her elbows peaked instinctively outwards. Her hands - meanwhile - bounced, brushed, grazed, and tormented the skin on Kit's upper thighs.

Boorman's humming had continued all the while, but now had turned into a tune that was obviously recognized by Silas and Willow, both catching each other's eye the minute Boorman started to hum the melody. Then... Boorman started to sing.

"I'll tell you all, of my life's rebirth,
I danced all night, and drank my worth"

"The barman warned as towards me, he crept,
"'When you leave tonight, my lad, don't go left.'"

Graydon seemed to recognize the tune right away but caught the confused look on Elora's face as she peered out of the horse-drawn cart and decided not to partake in the sing-along. At least, not at first. So, he decided to quietly hum along to himself... At least for the moment.

.

Elora met Kit's gaze with a confused look briefly before turning her attention back to Boorman, but was glad to have caught the same glimpse of confusion on the Princess's face and was glad to know that she may not be the only one unfamiliar with the epic tale.

Kit turned her head back to the left side where she had just been to seek recognition from the woman behind her, but was met with a face of confusion as well.

It had become clear to Jade, Kit, and Elora that everyone else was familiar with the sultry jaunt, except for them.

"Down the long road, soon I pondered.
Which path did he warn not to wander?"

Kit probably would have enjoyed the distraction any other day, had she not currently been nursing a proud disposition.

"You know we probably shouldn't be alerting anyone we're here or bring any attention to ourselves!" Kit suggested a little too loudly so the others could hear, but it was clearly not loud enough for the voices to stop singing.

Kit could tell that Jade, meanwhile, was enjoying the story immensely, and hopefully the ride, if she was being honest.

But by now, Silas and Willow had not only joined in, but were singing at the same obnoxious level as Boorman.

Kit started to say something again but felt Jade's chest press harder into her back and her arms tighten around her torso. The move brought chills to Kit's body and she froze in place. "No, do let them go on,". Jade whispered sweetly and softly. Jade's grip pulled her back in towards her as she made her soft request behind Kit's left ear. She felt Jade's arms more securely around her now. Tighter, yes. But more… secure, than restraining.

"In the wood, two lasses stood, so lovely,
One soft as milk, and the other more burly."

"To the young sister I promis'd my heart,
Below deck, my son, the stirrings did start"

Kit wasn't taken back by Jade's request to allow the singing to continue, but instead, it was the level of closeness that gave Kit's equilibrium a jolt.

Sensing Kit's submission, Jade loosened her grip around the Princess and let her hands hold the saddle loosely on top of Kit's thighs. The touch sent lightning bolts to her chest and Kit gave an involuntary sharp inhale that seemed to travel right through her diaphragm, into her lungs, and straight to her center.

The sensation was new. Something Kit experienced only once before but did not investigate to full "completion" and never thoughtfully contemplated.

"The next nigh' I was drunk as a sailor,
Sought out my lovely doe, hoping to see her"

"'Follow me'" came a siren's soft whisper,
Gripping my lap, was the older sister"

The rocking of the horse forced Jade's hands into a sliding motion against the top of Kit's thighs. Jades wrists were situated at the point of her hip bone, pulling her backwards further into her front. Now, Kit could only feel one thing: Jade behind her – ALL of her. Feeling the woman she truly loved with every part of her being flushed fully against her led Kit into a sense of submission that she was not used to; but was definitely intrigued by.

Kit's mouth went dry again, and she realized she was taking longer, slower blinks; savoring the feeling of Jade's hips rubbing into her backside and Jade's hands brushing the top of her thighs, in the most sensitive spots, throwing Kit closer into euphoria. Jade's thighs no longer felt like they were seated on either side of her, but rather holding her backside in place against her warm center. Kit's lips suddenly felt heavy as they hung open below her ducked head, knocking in rhythm of the horse.

Kit gripped the front of the saddle tighter but was afraid to move the rest of her body. She still wasn't sure if Jade was aware of the effect her actions were currently having over her, and she was afraid Jade wasn't ready for her "friend" to have such feelings for her in return.

Regardless, Kit felt so warm and frightened at the same. She felt her pulse quicken, aggressively. First, in her stomach, then in her chest, pounding through the front of her breasts. Then, the pulsating in her throat grew so severe she had to begin breathing again through her mouth. Her grip tightened harder, and she closed her eyes, only for a moment.

She imagined - fantasized - a moment, a break in the universe that would grant them both the opportunity to escape into their own world together, just for a moment, or to freeze everyone else around them so Kit could have her fill of Jade and take what she desperately needed from her. If the world could stop, only for a few seconds, Kit could grab the reigns out of Jade's soft, yet well-trained hands and throw them up against her own chest, so she could arch her back into her, then Jade could feel how much her friend's body begged for her touch. Then, Kit would move them to palm her own breasts momentarily, before driving them down between her legs and through the front of her waistband. She didn't even feel ashamed for having the lustful thoughts. In fact, she wanted to give herself even more to the waves of desire. She felt ready to dive into euphoria and bask in the rush of pleasure, and she waited to experience those things with no one other than Jade.

"Now my friend, life has plenty of pleasures,
But a lass's temple, is the highest treasure."

Kit spread her legs farther apart and pressed herself into the saddle involuntarily at the thought of having a moment alone with Jade in their current scenario. She could no longer hear the song or anything else around her for that matter. Her back arched and her hips pushed harder down, causing her thighs to tighten their grip and squeeze together. Kit was afraid her movement was too obvious, so she tried to save face by acting as if she was re-adjusting her stance on the horse.

She felt Jade adjust in response, but Jade's only adjustment was to pull Kit closer and more fully flushed against her lap, locking her into place. Kit felt her eyelids get heavy and her body turn to liquid.

"But come mornin', my sins I confessed.
To my young Doe with the milky white breasts."

"My love, I am filled with sorrow and remorse,
On my shaft, herself did she wild'ly force."

Kit's chest felt tight. Her hands were moist. Her once desert-dry mouth was now so wet she thought she would start drooling if her head absentmindedly tilted downward. She began to agonize and she started to feel so much pain and pleasure that it caused her body to start reacting against her will. Her breathing became so labored and hot with each breath as she witnessed the song's conclusion.

"I begged for mercy; her trust, I misused!
In return, my doe gave me a look, most confused."

"My love, I forgive you for bedding another,
This may cause you great woe,
but by now you should know,
That I only ever had a brother!"

The others had concluded their song in laughter, even eliciting a giggle from Elora in the covered horse-drawn cart. Jade had let out a brief and nearly silent exhale through her nostrils, laughing in response to the ending of the song's story. Kit emptied her lungs with such ferocity, as if she had been holding her breath for the entire duration of the ride. Assuming she was laughing at the song, Jade let out another snicker and turned her attention to the back of Kit's head to check-in on her Majesty's needs.

Kit finally managed to regain herself and was now very aware of how weak she had become during those last few minutes of the bumpy ride. She tried to control her breathing but the waves of trembling she felt wash over her body made her breathing even more labored than before.

Thankfully, as the chuckles from the group had started to simmer and they began to realize they had just arrived to a perfect place to camp for the night. Boorman dismounted and began to stretch. Meanwhile Graydon quickly rode his horse to Boorman's side and threw himself off his own steed, happy to be on his own two feet again.

Kit and Jade were the last to arrive, as the others had started to unpack. Jade squeezed the reigns into Kit's hands as she leaned her body forward into Kit's back harder than she had during the entire ride, to dismount. When her feet finally hit the ground, she turned to offer her assistance to Kit, knowing there was always a slight chance the Princess would reject her chivalrous offer.

Kit threw her leg over the backside of the horse and quickly dismounted to the opposite side, trying to hide herself from Jade. She didn't want her to see how visibly shaken the freckled beauty had made her during their ride together and she still needed a moment to fully regain her composure.

Kit took a deep breath in through her nose and exhaled slowly through her mouth, quietly so the others wouldn't hear.

She took her riding gloves off and took a quick glance around to make sure no one was looking before adjusting the front of her trousers. Kit wasn't sure how to feel about the events that had just taken place, but she was sure of its effects. Eventually, she was going to have to face the others again. Her plan was to grab her belongings securely tied to the back of Eclipse and begin setting up camp with the others, while secretly hiding her freshly flushed face from the others.

Thinking everyone else had already begun their routine camp work, Kit grabbed her canteen and took a long, indulging gulp, feeling the cool water wet her mouth completely before traveling the full length of her chest to her belly. It felt as if her entire body was being dipped in coolness to help subdue the sexual feelings that were warming her body so fiercely.

Kit felt a drop of water dangle from the crest of her bottom lip when she took a step forward around the front of Jade's horse and was suddenly met with warm, swollen chestnut eyes peering around the horse's nose to face her full-on.

Jade's face looked not only incredibly soft, but also looked as if she was so preoccupied with concern for the Princess's wellbeing and sought to offer her assistance. Kit wanted nothing more than to reach out to her beautiful Jade and pull her face into hers with both hands, taking anything (everything) she needed from the redhead, but instead, they shared a quiet moment of pause with one another, holding each other's eyes, exhaling at the same time, before Boorman's booming voice interrupted.

"Yea, here's fine if you want to start practicing that magic of yours, Willow!"
