Something felt different to Meggie. She had just woken up but she could feel it. There was a draft hitting her and it wasn't from the ventilation in the wall that she had grown used to over the years.

She opened her pale grey eyes and they widened when she saw the door. She sat up slowly, afraid it was a dream that she was about to wake up from. The door was open. Not fully open but maybe about 5 inches. Enough for her to see that it was most definitely open. That door had never been open before.

She stood up and felt the cold floor under her bare feet. She had slippers in the room but she couldn't focus on the cold right now. She slowly moved towards the door. She had no idea what was on the other side. She knew someone had to be but she had never seen the person. She looked out through the opening but all she could see was another room. That room was dark while the light was on in her own room.

She held her breath and opened the door more. The light from her room gave enough light for her to see through the darkness in the next room. There was no one in there. The room was almost empty except for a table and chair with a laptop and microphone on it. In the other end of the room was a door that was fully open, and that was where the draft came from. That door was leading to the outside.

She walked out in the dark room and moved past the desk. She took a look at the screen and saw it was showing her room. She always knew she had a camera on her. She had been alone for so long but someone had always been watching her.

She continued over to the open door and looked outside. There were 10 steps leading up. She took a deep breath and then ran up the stairs as fast as she could. She had no idea where she was or where she was going but she needed to get away before whoever had been holding her captive decided to change their mind. She ran through trees and bushes and quickly came across a dirt trail. She followed it out through the thick forest and continued running on the road until a car came towards her. She had no idea if it was a trap and whoever was driving towards her was the one who had captured her to begin with but she had to give it a try. She jumped in front of the car and waved her arms like crazy.

"Stop!" She screamed.

The car braked and she ran to the passenger door and tore it open. A young woman looked at her worried. She was well aware how she looked running around in the cold night in nothing but an off white, worn out, dirty nightgown, and with her light caramel brown hair having grown out like crazy and being a matted mess full of grey stripes from the stress she had been under.

"Are you okay?" The woman asked.
"I need help. Can you take me to the police station?" Meggie asked.
"Of course," the woman answered. "Get in."

Meggie kept quiet on the ride to the police station. She had no idea if she could trust the woman next to her or not. When they finally arrived, the woman escorted Meggie inside. The man behind the counter raised his eyebrows at the two women that entered that late.

"My name is Meggie Rania Chizu. I've been missing in 2016," Meggie said.
"Oh my god!" The man said. "I remember you. We were looking all over for you."

He turned his eyes to the other woman who held up her hands.

"I found her on the road," she said.
"We're gonna need your statement. Stay here. I'll send someone to talk to you," he turned his eyes to Meggie again. "Come with me, Meggie."

Meggie followed the cop into a room where she was offered water. She accepted the bottle and sat down on a chair.

"We have a lot of questions but first I need to know if there's someone we should call for you," he said.
"My boyfriend," she said. "Seth Rollins."
