She wondered if he was intentionally trying to wind her up when he started dating a literal model. This girl was next-level stunning. Another brunette, with perfect porcelain skin and pale blue eyes that resembled a clear sky.
The model had posted at least six couple photos of them together on the slap and each one had hundreds of likes. Jade scrolled through the pictures - more times than could ever be considered healthy until Tori eventually snatched her phone off her and blocked the pair of them.
The gang arranged to meet for dinner at Nozu that Friday night. It was one of the first times they had done something together all six of them since the breakup. She knew she was partly responsible for the change in the dynamics of their friendship group - Beck being responsible for the other fifty percent. And honestly, s he wasn't sure if things could ever go back to the way they used to be, but she was trying.
They had already found a table at the back of the restaurant when Beck arrived. She turned away in disgust when he kissed the model goodbye at the door.
"Do you think Beck has a type?" Robbie wondered out loud.
"Jade dupes?" Andre sniggered. Tori choked on her Miso Soup as Jade glared at him.
"I'm just saying," he put his hands up in defense. "She could be your clone."
She threw a chopstick at his head. But being compared to a model wasn't the worst insult she'd ever had.
"Sup' guys?" Beck finally joined them at the table. Immediately, the group went quiet. Not a single one of them passed the vibe check.
"Why aren't you inviting your model girlfriend to join us for sush?" Rex asked the question on everyone's mind.
"Because she's not my girlfriend," Beck responded with a shrug. He grabbed a menu and started skimming through it nonchalantly while the others sat in awkward silence.
"Okay then.." Tori replied. Jade met her eyes and they shared a rare moment of solidarity. They were both in agreement - Beck was acting like a complete asshole.
