Chapter six:

Donnie is in his lab just working on his computer, wanting something to do while his stomach settles. He is about to get ready to go talk to his family when he turns as he hears someone approach. He spots Mikey who is looking a little shy and embarrassed. "What's going on?" He inquires rather curious as Mikey comes to stand next to him.

Mikey takes a breath before he speaks. His hands playing with themselves nervously. "Donnie. I need your advice. You've been in two relationships. One that is still going. So I thought that you could help." He slightly glances away with a slightly embarrassed blush.

Donnie blinks not actually having expected Mikey to come to him for help with this. He does suppose that he is the only brother Mikey has alive, not counting Casey that is. "Come." He gets up leading Mikey to a resting spot with some beanbags to sit in.

The two settle in a beanbag each getting comfy.

"So. Tell me what's going on." Donnie encourages and Mikey takes a breath as if readying himself.

"You see I've had someone I've liked for a really long time now. I've been trying to make our friendship really nice. And it has been great." Mikey admits still looking nervous about this. "But now I want to try to take the next step... I just find myself hesitating because what if they don't feel the same way as I do?"

Donnie blinks as he understands what is going on here. He smiles softly at his younger brother. "It'll be okay Mikey." He meets the others eyes when those eyes look to him. "You won't really know until you tell them. I do understand though. I was scared of admitting to Casey I liked him. I even talked to Leo about it." He slightly glances away. "I was kind of cryptic, and I worry that I may have made him think I was hoping he was interested in Casey to leave Raph." He shakes his head. "Well anyways Leo didn't say anything so I'm sure it's fine." He looks to Mikey trying to get back on track. "I say tell this... Person? Mutant?" He now realizes he doesn't know who Mikey actually likes.

"Mutant." Mikey admits now seeing Donnies curiosity spark more. He slightly glances down with a smile. "Do you remember Leatherhead?" He gets a blink from Donnie who does remember that mutant. "Yeah I actually like him."

Now that was really something Donnie didn't expect. "I see." He tries to think if he saw it Leatherhead liked Mikey back. He isn't sure he's been around the other enough to really say. "Well even if things don't work out then we'll be here for you. But have faith. From what I remember you two are pretty close. So I think that it'll go alright."

"How did you admit your feelings to Casey?" Mikey blinks at Donnie. "I don't even know how to approach the subject with him."

Donnie lets out a silent breath deciding to tell Mikey. "Well our relationship started when he came into my lab. After Leo died and while Raph was still locked away in Leo's room. Casey agreed that I could tell him something without judgement or anger basically. I explained that I had a talk with Leo before he died. Then admitted that I had lost my love for April. Falling in love with someone else. Casey pushed me a little to find out who and I admitted it was him. Turns out he felt the same way about me."

Mikey blinks before glancing side to side as he tries to think of what he could do.

"If you talked to Leatherhead friend to friend about your feelings I'm sure he'll understand." Donnie points out. "In fact he'll probably be glad you can be open about your feelings. You can even admit you're nervous to tell him about these feelings you've been having."

"Should it be done in some special way? I mean like do I need to take him somewhere nice?" Mikey is clearly remembering movies and probably stuff from online.

"Only if you want to. Though honestly the conversation should be done alone. You don't want eyes on you during it." Donnie admits to which Mikey nods his head. "You just want to be able to talk to him. Nothing special is really needed."

"Okay. I think I have some ideas to go off of then." Mikey nods his head. "Thank you Donnie."

"No problem Mikey. Let me know how it goes." Donnie assures the other watching him head out. He closes his eyes letting out a breath. "Well he might be told a little later. One thing at a time for him." He gets up and goes to find Splinter. He finds the other in the kitchen with April who he hasn't seen in a long while.

April glances to Donnie and her look still has some coldness to it. She doesn't look at Donnie long enough to notice his bump. She turns away. "Anyways thanks Splinter. I'll see you when I get back." She heads off going past Donnie at this.

Donnie glances to Splinter who turns to him as he wonders what that was about.

"April was just informing me that she is doing some studying out of town for a few months. So she will be absent from things for a bit." Splinter assures Donnie who nods.

Donnie slightly wonders if their breakup had anything to do with this decision. He pushes that thought away, he's no longer dating April so it shouldn't matter anymore. He keeps his focus on Splinter who can clearly tell that he came to tell him something. "Casey said he got the house we were looking at. So we'll be moving in there."

Splinter smiles at this. "I am happy for the two of you." He admits to which Donnie nods his head. "If you need any help in packing or carrying things just let me or Mikey know. You don't want to push yourself too much."

"I'll be careful. But I'll remember to ask for help if needed." Donnie assures Splinter who nods then heads off to his room. He heads to work on finishing packing. He packs for awhile when he feels his phone buzz. He checks it finding it's a text from Mikey.

Hey dude! I won't be home in time for dinner! I'll fill you in on everything tomorrow!

Donnie hopes that the talk went alright. He sends a confirmation text back also wishing Mikey good luck. He finishes packing the box he was working on. He then heads to the kitchen curious about what to do for supper.

"I brought pizza!" Casey's call makes Donnie jump before heading to meet with his boyfriend. He smiles widely at his boyfriend approaching with the pizza box. "I know that you should probably be eating healthy or whatever. But surely a little indulgence is okay." He opens the box making Donnie gasp in delight to see extra cheese with pepperoni and ham sprinkled on top.

"It's perfect!" Donnie is pretty sure his tail is wagging at seeing his favourite pizza.

"Is Mikey joining?"

"No. He asked me for advice on talking to his crush. Now he texted that he wont be back for supper. Though he promised to tell me tomorrow how it went."

Casey blinks at that. "Okay cool. Hopefully that goes well." He grabs a plate getting Splinters preferred amount of slices. He heads to the others room giving it to him before returning to Donnie.

The two of them settle in the living room deciding to watch something while they eat.

"What should we watch?" Casey inquires as they settle into their spots on the couch together.

Donnie thinks it over a moment before getting an idea. "What about that show, I think it was called Rick and Morty? I've heard a lot about it online." He sees Casey's light up.

"Perfect! I actually brought it." Casey grabs a DVD case from his pocket. "Have been thinking about bugging you to watch it. Was going to yesterday but things got busy. Forgot that it was in my pocket until now."

"Well no time like the present." Donnie hums in agreement so the two watch the show while eating. He admittedly does like the show as it's just the right mixture to really bring him into it... Even if he thought it went a little overboard sometimes...

The two of them head to Casey's apartment after eating is done. They knew they should keep up the sleeping elsewhere habit going.

The next day...

Mikey arrives at Casey's place where he hugs Donnie after being let in.

"Mikey?" Donnie inquires worried that it went badly.

"I did it." Mikey chirps actually sounding happy. "He agreed to give us a chance!" He pulls away to grin at Donnie who smiles back at hearing this. "We met at his place and we talked it over. He was thinking of talking to me about it too. So it worked out. He said he's sure he wants me too though he only has a slight doubt. He did say that it faded more knowing that I had feelings for him."

"That's great!" Donnie pats his brother on the shoulder. He is truly happy for him.

Mikey is so happy he can't stand still.

"Oh." Donnie blinks as he almost forgot. "Before I forget I want to tell you that me and Casey got a house we wanted."

"Yay!" Mikey bounces a little. "Great news all around!" His excitement gets a slight chuckle from Donnie.

"Indeed." Donnie agrees to that.

...

Donnie walks around the house, his family insisted he not lift anything they're moving in, as he imagines what it'll be like when he and Casey settle in. He visits the room the two of them thought would make a nice bedroom for the two kids. He smiles at how spacious it feels. He knows it's half the size of the master bedroom though it has plenty of space for two kids. He places a hand on his bump. "This is going to be your room." He promises to the eggs and after a brief moment he groans at a slight stomach pain. He breathes it out until he feels better. He looks to the grey carpet and gets the urge to nest. He knows that surely that means that his eggs will be coming soon. He probably still has a bit longer though the wanting to nest tends to happen in the later stages, according to Donnies research. "We'll get you some nice comfy blankets and pillows for a nest. We just can't set one up yet." He tells his eggs trying to shake off the feeling for now. "Once we find enough supplies we'll do that." He leaves the room not wanting to encourage the feeling. He checks how his family is doing with moving the boxes in.

Mikey spots him and approaches carrying a box Donnie doesn't remember packing.

Must mean that it's Casey's right?

"I got you these." Mikey puts the box down and opens it revealing it to be a bunch of soft blankets and a bunch of soft pillows. He senses that Donnie is about to ask how Mikey knew. "Just had this feeling." He giggles. "I followed it because it makes sense. You'd probably want a soft spot to lay those eggs. Right?" He gets a nod from a still surprised Donnie. "Where do you want them?"

Donnie hurriedly shows Mikey the kids room where Mikey leaves the box.

"Have fun bro. We'll finish getting things inside." Mikey pats an excited Donnies shoulder, smiling at how excited Donnie is to build a nest, before he heads to go back to helping Splinter and Casey.

Donnie pulls out the materials and starts to construct a nest. He makes a pillow base with some blankets lining the pillows he set down. He then starts to add blankets on top of the pillows. He has the biggest pillow saved to the side to go on top. He plans to use that one as the one to catch the eggs when the time comes. He places the pillow he was saving inside once he's happy with how the blankets are. He thinks that the nest isn't too big but it's not too small. He even has some leftover stuff still in the box. He climbs in trying it out by moving a little in circles before settling down laying on his side. He churrs as he nuzzles into the soft blanket loving how the softness feels against his cheek. He finds it to be pretty comfy making him not wanting to get up for a bit. He isn't sure how long he's been laying there for when he raises his head hearing the door open.

Casey smiles warmly at Donnie. "Looks like you've made yourself comfy." He mentions taking in the pile of pillows and blankets.

"Mm." Donnie hums in agreement lowering his head to lay it on the soft blanket again.

Casey chuckles at seeing this. "Okay. I'll let you be. We're gonna be getting supper. Wanna hold down the fort here while we get food?"

Donnie gasps glancing up again. "Oh! Can you get me some ramen and get some peanut butter so I can mix it in!" He blinks hopefully at a slightly confused Casey.

Casey shakes his head with a slight chuckle. "Sure thing darling." He gives Donnie a kiss on the forehead as the other chirps happily. "See you soon." He heads off to go join the others.

Donnie churrs as he rubs his body all over the blankets. He tries to not roll around but he does shift to get his body to touch it. He is so glad Mikey thought to get him these as they're more than perfect.

By the end of the week the two are settled into their new home.

Casey knocks on the door to the kids room. He steps inside as Donnie, who is laying in the nest, glances up. "Hey sweetheart." He greets crouching beside the nest. "I think I found the perfect place for us to be able to start a business. If that's what you still want to do."

"Of course I do. Let's check this place out." Donnie agrees and starts to get up. He groans and pauses as a sharp twinge of pain shoots through him.

Casey's excitement disappears replacing with worry. "Donnie?" He places a hand on the others back. "Are you okay?"

Donnie takes a few breaths before feeling the pain again. He has a suspicion of what it might be. "I think the eggs might be coming." He admits before another groan from more pain.

Casey gasps with his eyes becoming wide. "Okay. Okay." He tries to calm himself from this news. "What do you need me to do?"

"Just stay with me? The eggs should come out on their own." Donnie groans and Casey nods his head.

"Okay. I'll stay right here with you." Casey promises and he climbs into the nest. He sits next to Donnie who gets to his hands and knees.

Donnie manages to get the pillow he saved for the eggs. He leans his upper half against Casey who hugs him. His lower half positioned above the pillow so that's where the eggs will land. He clutches onto Casey's clothes with a deep groan. He can feel one egg shift downwards. His body tensing as he tries to push the egg out. His body slightly trembling as he does so.

Casey gently shushes him running a soothing hand along his shell. "You've got this darling." He encourages which does feel nice to hear.

Donnie can't answer as he groans again being able to feel that the egg is getting close to coming out. He can feel beads of sweat drip down his face as his body is working hard to get them out.

"That's it. Keep going." Casey keeps up his encouragement. He also gently scratches the geniuses shell knowing that it can be soothing to the turtles.

Donnie lets out a strained groan as he gives one more push. He feels the egg slip from his body. He lets out a shuddering gasp as the pain lightens even if just for a few moments.

"You're doing great." Casey kisses the top of Donnies head who smiles a moment.

Donnie's expression drops as he groans again. He can feel the pain of the other egg moving. His hands have a death grip on Casey's clothes as his now sensitive nerves are squished. He swears that the second egg is so much worse than the first egg. He lets out a cry of pain as he tries to just get this egg out of himself.

Casey tries to mimic a turtle churr. He doesn't do it very well though Donnie does appreciate the attempt at using it to comfort him... Even if it doesn't help at all. He gives Donnie soft reminders to push and to breathe. He ensures that Donnie doesn't hold his breath and pass out.

Donnie lets out a bunch of pained noises as the egg travels down. He swears that it's like he was forceable stretched out by the first egg, leaving him sore which makes the second egg so much worse. He hardly even notices a hand gently massaging his shoulders. His mind drifting away from the fact that Casey is with him right now. His body is so focused on the painful egg trying to move through him. He pushes harder despite the sharp pain shooting through he.

"Is it coming out?" Casey inquires after another loud sound of pain from Donnie. His worry evident in his tone.

Donnie nods his head and lays his sweaty forehead against Casey's shoulder. He tries to breathe as Casey instructs him to. "Shit." He manages to get out through his clenched teeth as the second egg makes it out. He collapses against Casey who holds him close. His breathing left in gasping breaths.

Casey shifts to check the eggs while holding Donnie with one arm. He lets out a breath as the two white eggs look to be okay. He turns his attention to Donnie who tries to catch his breath. "Do you need anything?" He inquires and Donnie gasps out for water. He shifts away laying Donnie on the blankets. He grabs a water bottle they put in the room if needed when the eggs come. He shifts the other to sit up enough to be able to drink the water.

Donnie tries to pull away indicating he's done so Casey sets the water aside. He shifts to glance to the two wet eggs laying on the pillow.

One looks to be a little bigger than the other, however both do indeed look healthy.

"They're beautiful." Donnie sighs softly blinking lovingly at the eggs.

"They sure are." Casey responds giving a kiss to Donnies head. He chuckles seeing the other give a huge yawn. "Why don't you get some rest? I'll put the eggs into the incubator that you showed me how to use."

Donnie nods his head letting himself be laid down. He watches Casey take the pillow carefully carrying the eggs. His eyes close as he's glad Casey is his mate or he might have gotten protective of his eggs. He falls asleep soon after.

Casey puts the eggs still on the pillow into the crib like clear incubator. He makes sure it's on and at the right heat. He smiles at the two eggs after he's sure everything is good. He uses his phone to snap a picture and leaves the room sending the picture to their family.

The others reply with happy excitement; though April doesn't respond not that Casey really expected her to.

...

Donnie is checking on the eggs while Casey finishes putting the crib in place where the nest was. He had cleaned up the nest and washed the stuff after taking a three day rest. He is glad to hear that Casey got the building for their bike shop while he was resting, construction has already started and it'll be maybe a month before they can open The Turtle Bike shop, as Casey really wants to call it. He gasps at seeing the slightly smaller egg wiggle. "Casey!" He calls to which the other hurries over.

The two watch as the smaller of the two eggs gains a crack before wiggling again.

"They're hatching!" Casey slightly leans closer watching with fascinated eyes as the crack slowly gets bigger.

Donnie leans closer to wanting to see their babies as soon as they're out of the eggs.

The first one is the smaller of the two eggs with the top cracking open. The top cracked shell pieces fall off as a little head pops out. The little on has Donnies green shin, a more human shaped head, turtle nose, thin tony black hair leaving the baby mostly bald, and the baby cracks open its eyes struggling a little which shows mahogany eyes.

Donnie and Casey smile as they think the little one looks like such a cute kid.

The little one tries to move forward only for the egg to fall, the baby lands alright on the soft surface but breaks more of the egg in the landing.

Donnie carefully removes some eggshells while the other egg cracks more to work on hatching. He finds the child has a shell, no tail, is a male, and four fingers unlike Donnies three; though the baby's feet are the same as Donnies. He leans close as the baby blinks bleary eyed at him. "Welcome to the world." He greets and hears a soft chirp come from the baby. He chirps back to which the baby flails its limbs, in an attempt to wiggle, giggling happily.

"Donnie." Casey breathes out bringing Donnies attention to the second egg.

The parents watch as something starts to visibly push out.

The egg finally lets something through being two arms then two legs. The feet look human, the hands have all five human fingers, and the skin is mostly human shade with a hint of a slight green hue. The baby wiggles a bit before managing to cause the rest of the shell to fall, save for some on top of its head. The baby blinks at its parents after settling once it's revealed the rest of it. This baby is definitely a little bigger than the first one and is another boy. He has a more human looking body with a human like face, black hair like his sibling with just a bit more there than his sibling, brown eyes, and only the front part of the shell. The baby lets out a chirp that almost sounds like a grumbling version.

Donnie and Casey chuckle at this before Donnie gives a chirp of his own in assurance.

The baby perks up a bit and chirps a little happier this time before falling backwards onto the pillow.

"They're amazing Donnie." Casey mentions gently touching the smaller ones cheek. His expression is so bright especially as the child leans into his touch. "You know. I think those names we discussed are gonna be perfect for them."

"Should we name the bigger one after Raph then?" Donnie inquires and Casey nods as they feel like it fits him better. "Sounds good then." He leans over, Casey helps the larger baby turn onto his stomach beside his brother, giving the two babies each a nuzzle. "Welcome to the world Lee Hamato Jones and Raphie Hamato Jones." He is glad that they agreed to let Donnies last name be the kids middle name. He feels like this way his family legacy is still a part of the kids. He remembers how his family shared their support for the names the two picked. He churrs happily and feels his mate place a hand on his shell. He pulls away from the babies to smile lovingly down at them.

"I want to marry you one of these days." Casey mentions getting Donnie to turn to him with wide surprised eyes. He smiles lovingly and gets a blushing shy but loving smile back.

"I'd like that." Donnie agrees and leans into an embrace with Casey. He can't wait to see the excitement on his family's faces as they introduce the babies to them.

Yeah. Everything is going to be just fine.

The next day...

Mikey gasps as he approaches the two babies who are playing on a play mat in the living room. "They're beautiful Donnie!" He mentions while Splinter looks at the two so the pride. He lays down on his stomach as the two babies look at him. He responds to their inquisitive chirps with his own sounds giggling as he does so.

Splinter is looking at the two children with warmth and some nostalgia, as if remembering the four turtles when they were little.

"Guess this makes you grandpa sensei now." Casey mentions to Splinter who can't help a warm chuckle at this.

"Wasn't sure that I would hear myself be called that." Splinter can't say that he doesn't like it because then he'd be lying. He sits on his knees by the two babies who turn to blink at him. "You're going to grow up into very wonderful beings. I just know it."

Donnie places a hand on his chest by his heart that warms at hearing Splinter say that.

None of them can see them though the spirits of Leo and Raph watch all of this. They glance to each other with smiles before turning away walking away, fading as they go back to the spirit realm.

...

Donnie is working on a motorbike in the back of the shop. He can kind of hear Casey talking to customers out front. He is happy to be doing this business venture with the other. He loves him so much.

April decided to move to another town only claiming it was for schooling. She hasn't really contacted them again after her move.

Donnie doesn't really think about it as he just lets himself enjoy his happy life with his family.

Plus the business is going by so well as they quickly became a trusted shop for a lot of people.

"Mommy!" A small voice makes Donnie pause to turn. Raphie skids to a stop after running towards him.

Lee is not far behind Raphie. He skids to a stop next to his brother.

Their black hair has come out more on their two year old heads, Raphie more so than Lee as Raphie's looks thicker compared to Lees thinner hair.

The two look up at Donnie with big smiles on their faces.

"Grandpa played so much!" Raphie happily exclaims to Donnie.

"Uncle too!" Lee mentions as Mikey and Splinter come over from behind the two children.

"That's great!" Donnie mentions and shares a smile with Mikey and Splinter.

"They were starting to miss you while playing in the lair." Splinter mentions to explain their visit to the shop.

"That's fine." Donnie finishes what he was doing then cleans his hands with a cloth. He picks up his two children each in one of his arms. "I can take a break."

"Yay!" Lee and Raphie both cheer making all three of them chuckle.

Donnie gives a kiss to each of his sons with both giggling at their mothers kisses. He loves his life. He wants things to stay this wonderful forever.

The end.

All of this was written on my phone so hopefully I caught the autocorrects!

I was gonna end it earlier before deciding to slightly do my original ending. Figured you all wanted to at least see the families reaction to the babies.

I hope you all enjoyed this story! Thank you for reading!
