Once they got to the station, Jayden put Cleo in the health room with Trixie, Kari and Ben. Skye was with the others. Chase, Aaliyah and Andrew had some police training to do and Jayden was helping them. Chase and Aaliyah didn't pay each other any attention. Andrew and Skye noticed. Jayden walked into the room and felt the tension. He shook his head and got his gear on.
"Come on, hotheads. Show me what you can do." Jayden said with a smile. They would smile at each other but this time they got angry. Aaliyah growled while Chase looked down. Andrew knows that she gets upset and she gets rough but not this time. "Chase and Aaliyah! Show me what you got." So Aaliyah charged first and it was scary. Jayden got knocked down a few times. From all the noise that was happening, Aaliyah's parents ran in.
"Aaliyah, relax." Said her father as he stepped in front of her but Aaliyah jumped over him. "What the? What did you two do this time?" He looked at Andrew and Skye. Then behind her came Chase. They were both aiming for Jayden. Now Aaliyah's parents are trying to get them. Andrew stood there and watched while Aaliyah and Chase were training. This time Jayden was getting attacked.
"Can you two calm down?" He said as he dodged them. To Jayden it didn't look like training, it was more letting anger out. "What have gotten into you two? This is not normal." He slammed against the wall then moved before Aaliyah got him. Chase came from the other side. "Andrew, what did you do? This girl is trying to kill me."
"Why are you asking me?" He asked.
"Because you are her boyfriend. Sadly I don't know why. You and Skye are capable of making these two angry. You two are in a relationship causing problems. Like I don't know, judging them about their relationship in the past. No lie these two should have stayed together if you and Skye treated them like this." Skye looked at Jayden. "You know I'm right so why not. Skye, come and get Chase please. You two need to stop causing problems. Now come and help." Andrew jumped in to stop them. Chase stood in front of him and Aaliyah was next to Chase. "Man, I thought that I…"
"SHUT IT JAYDEN!" They both yelled. Both growled again but Andrew pinned down Chase which didn't make Aaliyah happy.
"Get off of me Andrew." Chase said. Skye jumped in. Aaliyah had Skye. All four were fighting now. Jayden got back up but was hit by Andrew since Chase and Aaliyah threw him. Skye got bit by Aaliyah. Skye and Andrew crashed into Jayden. For some reason, Chase didn't stop and that was because Andrew attacked him. Jayden's father, Officer Kyle ran in and grabbed them. They were both breathing heavily and looked at each other but turned away. Then Cleo ran in and hugged Aaliyah since she knew more. Aaliyah calmed down and put her head on Cleo's shoulder.
"Chase?" Cleo said but then looked at Andrew. "Got it. Go relax over there and I will be there soon." He nodded and walked away. Aaliyah didn't pay attention to him and closed her eyes as he walked past her. Cleo and Jayden looked at Andrew. "Who are you guys?"
"Names Jayden. Nice to meet you. I went to get Andrew and Aaliyah but I caught you before you hit the ground. So I took you here. Did you enjoy the strawberries I left?" Cleo turned her head and Jayden just looked at her.
"Yes." Cleo went back to look at Aaliyah. Then went to check on Chase. So after training Jayden got Cleo some food. Cleo told him to bring the health box so she can look at the bruises from training. The suit he had on was perfect but Chase and Aaliyah took all their anger out during that training. Jayden had small bruises on his arms and a little bit on his legs and back. By then Chase went home, Aaliyah started to talk to Andrew. He understood why she was acting like that but he didn't change his attitude against Chase. Jayden walked in the room. "Hi, how can I help you?"
"I come in peace and with food. I got you some fish." Cleo looked at him. "I'm only being nice. No harm. Also you told me to bring the bandage wraps." Jayden sat across from Cleo. "If you don't like fish I can make you something else." Cleo looked at him as she took Jayden's shirt off. For a teen his age have a body like his. It was weird.
"You can cook?" As Cleo ran her hand down his back with some cream.
"Yes. My mom taught me. Do you know how to cook?"
"No, I never learned how to." She lied.
"My mom can teach you." Cleo looked at him. "What's wrong?"
"I don't feel good."
"Well you didn't eat anything. Come on, I will take you to a room. I need you to relax." Jayden got up but saw Cleo looking at him scared. "I see. Just give me your hand." So she did and he took her to a room. "Here this should be good. Get some rest." He let go but Cleo grabbed his hand. "What's up?" Cleo just looked at him so he got closer. "Let me get changed and I will be back." So he took a shower and so did Cleo. Jayden met Cleo by the door close to her room. Just one look at her, Jayden had to hide his face but saw that she was small.
"What's wrong?" Cleo asked.
"I might have to give you one of my old pajamas. Just go to the room and I'll be back."
"Okay." After ten minutes Jayden returned and Cleo was still up.
"Here. This should fit you. I will be in the hallway while you get changed." Cleo grabbed his hand. "You don't want me to leave. Do you?"
"No. Just close your eyes." Jayden had a smile and did what he was told." Cleo changed but threw his shirt at him.
"Hey?! Seriously?"
"Okay I'm done." Jayden notices that his old pajamas were still big on her. It fits as a dress. Katie got some clothes for her. Jayden saw her shoulder since it was sliding off. A small corner of her chest was showing. So Jayden moved it and the pants were big as well but he didn't realize that Cleo didn't have it on. So he just saw her legs and it felt like bones.
"So Cleo, where did you come from? He asked.
"The state of Washington. Born and raised. How about you?"
"Born and raised in Adventure Bay. I see that you like animals."
"Yep. It's like I can understand them more than most."
"I agree with that part. Just by one look you know what's wrong. That's amazing." Cleo just looked at him and saw his smile. "I would ask about your parents because I know you would feel uncomfortable about it."
"How can you tell?"
"Your face shows it. Let me get Aaliyah and Andrew in here. That might calm you down." So he got them and they slept in the same room. Jayden looked at her. "She sleeps like an angel. She's beautiful." Then he fell asleep next to her. In the morning, Jayden's parents were looking for them. Aaliyah's parents found them. Cleo had her head on Aaliyah's back. Jayden had his arm around her while Andrew was sleeping by his knees. When Cleo woke up Jayden was still asleep but Aaliyah was awake. Andrew was trying to talk to her but she just sat there and listened.
"Andrew, as long as this doesn't continue throughout life then I'm fine. If it does, I'm done with you. We both know that before you transferred to Adventure Bay, I only had Chase. My one friend that I have in this town. I don't want to mess up my friendship with him because you and Skye hate us. Yes, I know that she does and you hate Chase. Why did we think of remaining away from each other because we don't want to upset the ones we love." Andrew looked at her.
"So you knew?" Andrew asked. Aaliyah nodded. "I will not bring this up again."
"Sadly, I will take your word for it but I don't believe you." Andrew looked at her and knew that he had to show it instead of saying it. "One more time with this stupidity and I will have Police Chief Franklin send you back to your old station. Make my word on that. We both know that I have the power to do so. Child play and jealousy can cause pain to the other one. Get your act together, Andrew."
"Jayden, wake up." Said Cleo. He turned to face the other way. "Wake up."
"Cleo, it's hard to wake that boy up. Just like his father." Said Jayden's mother. Cleo looked at Jayden and put her hand on his face. That's when he moved and put his hand on hers.
"Morning Cleo." He said. Cleo saw his hair. Morning hair is what they call it but Jayden's hair was worse than that. So Cleo got up and went to look for something and came back. "What are you doing?"
"Don't move." She said as she started to do his hair. Jayden moved her arms. "Yes?"
"Nothing." So Cleo continued and backed up when she was done. "Wow! Thanks Cleo. I didn't know you knew how to do a haircut."
"I do my own hair. I'm trying to let it grow more."
"How long would you want it to be?" He only touched the bottom of her hair. Cleo hurt his hand. "Hey, what was that for?" Then he looked at her and saw that she was nervous. "Sorry about that. You don't want anyone touching your hair. Understandable." Cleo looked at him. "But honestly your hair looks beautiful regardless of how long it will be." Cleo just looked at him and from the look of his eyes Jayden wasn't joking. "I know that you're scared but its okay to be. You have some good friends that care about you. I mean Trixie. She didn't tell me anything. It's the way you acted once you got here. Scared of other humans?"
"Yes. It's from where I came and how I lived for three years. It was hard and too much for me to handle." Jayden put his hand on Cleo's cheek.
"You are safe now Cleo. We will protect you. I will protect you." Jayden pulled her in for a hug and a small kiss on the cheek before he got up. "I'm going to make breakfast and take you back to the Lookout. Okay?"
"Sure." Cleo got up, walked to the bathroom and shower. While in the shower, Cleo started thinking about what Jayden said to her. "Was he actually going to protect me?" So he took her home and noticed that a car was coming. Jayden and Cleo saw and without thinking Jayden got her by the waist. They landed on the ground with Cleo on top of him.
"Are you two okay? I'm sorry that I was trying to read the map." said the stranger. Jayden got up with Cleo in his arms and walked closer to the car. The driver was on his phone and not paying attention.
"You were on your phone. I'll let my father know."
"And who are you to report this? Little boy."
"You almost hit me and my friend. Also I'm the grandson of the Police Chief." Jayden looked at him and called in. So he continued to take Cleo home. Katie and Ryder were helping the pups wash their trucks. Liberty, Ella and Tuck stayed with them. Trixie saw Cleo walking to the Lookout with Jayden but she was helping him. Duke ran over.
"Jayden what happened?" he asked.
"It's nothing. I just hurt my back." Jayden said as he looked at Cleo. Then she ran off and came back with some back cream. "Cleo what are you doing?" She pulled his shirt up and off. "Cleo?!" She started to put the ointment on his back and massaged it. Jayden had to hide his face. Trixie and Kari noticed that Jayden was blushing while she was doing so. "Ummm…Thanks Cleo. Feels weird but thanks."
"Well you saved me from getting hit by a car." Cleo said with a small smile. "So I'm helping you so don't argue with me. Got it?"
"I see you have a small attitude with me. I like that."
"Shut it you."
"And hiding feelings. A girl of surprises." Jayden smiled. Cleo finished and gave Jayden back his shirt.
"Just be careful with your back please."
"You get better and sit right when you have a skirt on." Jayden laughed. So Cleo slowly started to open up with other humans. Mainly because of Jayden since he was the one that showed interest in her. Also kindness and love is something that she never had for years. She only talked to Trixie and Kari about her nightmares but hung out with Jayden at the police station when there were no missions. Since now she's part of the Ninja Pups it got busy but she still made time for him.
