Who is She?
While on patrol, Molten Man realized that he had competition from the other side of the law. Do not Own Spectacular Spider-man…
At night in New York…
Mark felt proud of himself.
He's doing good at school, he's got a steady job to provide for Petey and for college, a pretty boyfriend who was both kind and smart, superpowers… seriously what else did he need? Peter, who was also the famed Spider-man, whom only Mark knows. Well… there was also Brock, but he was the crazy, evil jerk who hurt his own best friend. Still, Pete was a pretty great guy, and it was thanks to him that Molten Man was able to turn his life around. Who knew where he would be if he never met Peter Parker? Maybe back to his old ways until he was forced into prison, rotting away somewhere with no hope for the future.
But now, now he was actually a prison guard and a good one, too. Three days ago, he stopped the Rhino from escaping.
How?
Simple.
He turned up the heat and the bulky buffoon went down like a sack of potatoes. He didn't even use any fireballs or anything, just turned up his body heat. He guzzled down a whole thing of water afterward. Nonetheless, he got kudos from his co-workers who didn't need to waste their weaponry.
"You should start carrying a water bottle when you are on the job or patrol. You lose a lot of water when using your powers and I don't want you to get sick." Peter advised in his spider suit as he handed his boyfriend a bottle with the healthy measurements for how much a person needs per day.
Very popular for health nuts.
"Sounds like a good idea. These powers are awesome for the winter, not so much in the summer." Mark admitted then kissed Spider-man.
As they were flying through the city, they would soon spot a robbery in progress. Peter knew who it was and wondered…
How would Mark take meeting her?
He hoped his boyfriend wouldn't barbecue her.
At a wealthy corrupted industry….
Black Cat got a big score as she made off with some nice jewelry and cash, knowing that her little spider would come calling.
Ah… that spider, Spider-man, the rival, and sweetheart after her own, or maybe she wanted to steal his… Such a man, always giving, wanting to help others, and would take down the baddest of bad, and yet… he never saw her as a crook but more as a wayward kitty. She could see it in his covered eyes, he wanted to help her become a better person, hoping she would use her talents for more… progressive use. Yet, why did he use his own powers to get what he wanted? Why couldn't that little spider be selfish… when the entire city was?
Why help others who are so cruel to him?
She looked from the roof of the building to see her knight in red spandex was heading her way in that flamboyant and ever-so-elegant form of swinging he did. Man, she loved watching him move like that, makes her wonder what else he can do. He was more graceful than a ballerina and more talented than an acrobat. Black Cat could watch him all day if she could. But as she watched her favorite vigilante swing for her, the sneaky thief spotted someone else coming from the rear of her spider.
Huh.
Looks like a comet with a mind of its own…
Must be her partner's new partner.
Black Cat had heard the rumors of the newest Superhero, a guy named Molten Man. A boiling hot man that suited his boiling hot name. He is invincible with a temperature as hot as a volcano and the ability to blast fireballs like he throws baseballs. He made his debut when he fought off the Icy Blow Hard, Iceberg, wanting to get even for freezing his boyfriend. He became the city's hero who got a job at the Vault… where her father was being kept, a prisoner being accused of doing the unthinkable.
She had better get to know this one before getting ready for her biggest heist yet. She had a feeling this guy would not be as cool as her Spider-man.
Know thy enemy…
Near the building…
"I see the crook." Molten Man informed his love, who seemed a little nervous.
"Yep, it's her." Peter sighed as he hoped Mark would keep her temper.
"Her? Oh, her…" Mark groaned as he'd been told about… her.
Spider-man has told him about the little thief like a cat who has a big crush on him. Stealing, flirting, kissing him… ugh. Now, he knew Peter would never cheat on him, but this woman… it seemed that she didn't understand boundaries.
Well, Peter wanted to rehabilitate her. But he wanted to lock her in the slammer.
"Muy pequeño, I don't know if I keep my cool."
"Don't worry about it, My Eternal Candle. You know I only have eyes for you." Peter assured him, though Mark didn't worry about him, but her.
They reached the roof, where Black Cat was waiting.
"Heya handsome."
Grrr….
Her eyes then looked over to his new playmate.
"Who's this work of art you brought with you?" Black Cat flirted but Molten Man was not a happy matchstick.
"Molten Man." Mark bluntly answered with his arms crossed.
"Well, not much of a charmer…"
"Not to a criminal."
"Molten Man." Spider-man advised then looked to the woman, "Cat, listen. You need to give back that money you stole."
"You mean the money stolen that I stole. The people below us stole from the poor while no one does anything about it. I thought it would be put… to better use." Black Cat countered, "But if you want it back, you are going to have to catch me."
Soon the chase began as Black Cat could tell that Molten Man would not let her off the hook like Spider-man, as he was more brutish in his attacks, almost jealously attacking her. It seems he is not the type to share the spider.
She was the same.
After the chase…
Spider-man was able to get the stolen goods back, but Cat got away, to Mark's dismay who wanted to book her. Not because he was jealous, nor because she was a crook, no better than the others.
Petey could sense his distress and gave him a kiss on the cheek before they could leave for the building that had been robbed.
Next time, Molten Man will arrest her.
