When trust is questioned
In this chapter, I'll come back to Tony's and Angela's situation a little bit to establish the context between Angela, Tony, and Kathleen. Because not only the trust in the new colleague Roger is questioned, but also that in tony, because of the situation with Kathleen.
Chapter 5
Wednesday
Tony, Mona and Angela sitting in the kitchen.
"So, Mother, please remember to fax the letter I put on your desk!"
"yes Angela….It's good, I'll do it" says Mona and scrapes her coffee, then gets up and goes to the door.
"then, see you two later".
"Bye, Mona," Tony replies.
"Good, then I'll get to work." Angela says.
"Hey Angela, then we'll have dinner together today when you're already working from home, when I'm back from university".
Angela smiles at him in a friendly way. "shure ".
Less than two hours later at the agency.
"Mona, excuse me, I have a question..."
Mona is filing her fingernails. "…sorry, what did you say?"
"I have a question, look the numbers here do not match this accounting, I have not found any more documents about it..."
Roger was about to finish then Mona interrupts him..." Oh numbers, not my cup of tea, please contact Angela... here's the number from her office at home."
In the meantime, the phone rings at Angela's home office.
"Angela Bower, Bower Agency, yes please?"
"Hi Angela, good morning and sorry for the disturbance. It's a pity that I don't meet you directly in the office here today. But unfortunately Mona can't help me. I have a question about a billing..."
Angela replies "yes ok..."
(dialogue only from Angela's point of view)
.."oh this accounting, yes the letter is missing, that still has to be submitted later.. yes. Ok... No, I'll take care of it. No, I won't come tomorrow either. Hehe, no I'm fine, I still have another appointment, otherwise I wouldn't be able to do that. Yes... It's all right, see you on Friday then, yes, bye Roger!"
In the Agency
Roger looks over at Mona, "Mona, tell me, what kind of woman is Angela? What does she like?"
Mona laughs, "HA, Angela?!" ..."Why do you want to know that so precisely?"
Roger: "I'm interested, I think we can speak openly when I tell you that Angela is a very interesting woman!"
Mona looks at him, "yes... Yes, she kind of is... if you're into that kind of woman."
Roger smiles.
Mona says: "If you're interested, just ask her out."
Roger: "I don't know if she goes out with an employee... she's my boss, after all!"
Mona quickly replies "oh yes, I think she would..." while she grins cheekily with half a mouth.
She mumbles softly..."she needs a man by her side again... Something new, especially when it looks so good..."
Roger's eyes get bigger ..
"Oops, I just said that out loud.." she giggles.
Roger puts on a charming smile.

Late afternoon
Angela has had a busy day. She sits in the kitchen, Tony cooks in time.
"So Angela, I'll be done in a minute."
Angela gets up, walks over to him, he holds out the wooden spoon to her. "Here, cost, do you think there's something missing?"
Angela opens her mouth and tastes the chilli..."hmmm delicious, fiery, but very good!"
They look at each other. They share very deep views with each other. Tony smiles and puts the wooden spoon aside.
He swallows...
How I would love to hold her and kiss her now.
He looks at the pot "Well, the food would probably be ready then, let's begin!"
"Gladly," Angela replies, her cheeks flushing.
They have lunch together.
"Maybe a movie and popcorn tonight?" asks Tony
"With pleasure, Tony!" She is very happy that she can finally spend the evening with him again.
Both smile at each other again, familiar and friendly, with sparkle in their eyes.
At the time, Mona is also back from the office.
She comes into the living room, "So, I'll go again, I have an appointment, we'll see us tomorrow..."
Prancing lightly in her long black and gold dress, she goes out the door and shouts "Have fun you two..."
"You too, Mona!" replies Tony.
"Have fun Mother," says Angela.
Tony turns on the TV, the popcorn is already ready. He switches to a scary movie.
"I hope it's ok, Casablanca is also running but we saw it last time and today is Zombie night". Tony grins...
"Oh yes, of course, I like horror movies".
A good half an hour later...
Angela snuggled up to Tony and was suddenly startled by a scene. She takes Tony's arm and snuggles up to him even more. Tony turns his head to her, she turns her head to him, their eyes meet. "I wouldn't have thought that you would be so scared, the movie is an old ham!"
"I know... but.." ... Angela looks at him wide-eyed.
"It's good that I'm here hmm..." he whispered to her.
"Yes..." it comes out of her quietly.
Both are still looking at each other.
They get closer, no one takes their eyes off.
Tony moves even closer until their lips touch. He also turns closer to Angela.
They get warm.
The kisses become more intimate, tender, lustful...
His hand slides down her arm to her waist.
Angela gets hot, she feels the desire, now it's finally her Tony again, all alone!
But then the thought of Kathleen slowly comes back to her... how close Kathleen was to Tony, how quickly the two became intimate and she had to wait so badly...
The kisses become fewer, Angela slowly retreats, she notices how hurt she still is.
They look at each other again, Angela's eyes look slightly sad..."Tony I... I..."
"It's ok Angela" Tony can feel what's going on.
"We should keep watching the movie," he says.
... How I would love to give her more now... hold and fell Angela, but she still needs time…
Tony has to pull himself together, he is very excited, but he remains steadfast.
He puts his arm around her and Angela leans her head against his shoulder.
So they watch the movie to the end and let the evening come to an end...
Nothing happens anymore... But both feel this incredible desire and a little sadness.
