More than meets the Eye

Ch. 5: "Coffee, Tea, or Carmine part 4"

With Paulie and Christopher out searching for Carmine, everyone else back at the Bing were either shaking their heads at the 'idiotic move' those two pulled or doing their best to hide their nerves, especially Tony who never ever once showed nervousness. Given that he now knows some of Carmine's brutal nature, it'd be understandable to be nervous. Meanwhile, Carmine was still toying with Santino before finally speaking up after what felt like an eternity, only to stop when he heard Paulie and Christopher arrive to the World Trade Center. Now, the million dollar question was: What has Carmine FINALLY decided for Santino and how will he react to Paulie and Christopher coming out to find him? Will he FINALLY get to the Bing and meet the one and only Anthony "Tony" Soprano? How will Tony react to meeting him let alone seeing him? Find out!

Author's Note: For the fourth and hopefully last time, the World Trade Center (1973-2001) is in this chapter and before anyone gets their panties in a bunch, this story takes place BEFORE the September 11 attacks. I CANNOT STRESS THAT ENOUGH! Also, I do NOT own anything Sopranos related (characters, etc). The only things I own are the characters: Carmine, Michaela a.k.a. "Mata", Santino, Matteo, and Lorenzo. Rated 'T' for language. If you don't like it, DON'T READ IT.

(Flashback to chapter 4)

"Look Carm, this is no fun. You know I hate the silent treatment." Santino spoke after a few minutes of silence.

Carmine still remained silent and just nodded.

"Whatever you plan to do to me, why don't ya just get it done, huh?" Santino inquired, while trying to hide his nervousness.

Carmine ignored Santino and stared out into the night, still battling his inner conflict on whether he should do away with Santino for good or spare him.

*Back with Paulie and Christopher*

Paulie and Christopher were still driving around looking for Carmine and not finding him anywhere. Paulie was clearly ready to blow his top. Then again, when wasn't he?

"Where the fuck can this guy be? We've been driving everywhere and no fuckin' sight of him." Paulie huffed.

"Who knows, Paulie? Sil didn't show us a picture of him, so as far as we're concerned, he could be anywhere." Christopher shook his head.

"Where? Where? Where?! We've been searching up fucking high and down fucking low and nothing!" Paulie raised his voice.

"The fuck should I know? Let's keep searching." Christopher sighed.

"Did I ever say we were gonna stop searching for this prick?" Paulie asked, very angrily.

"Let's just go, Paulie." Christopher ran a hand through his hair.

"Where?" Paulie asked.

"Anywhere. We're not gonna solve anything by sitting here at a stop sign." Christopher told him.

"I-" Paulie stopped when he saw a sign and read it to himself.

"What're you doin'?" Christopher asked.

"There's a sign for the George Washington Bridge." Paulie pointed at said sign.

"The George Washington Bridge? That's in New York." Christopher pointed out.

"So? Maybe fuckface Carmine went to New York by traveling the bridge as the bridge does connect the Empire State to Jersey." Paulie sounded a bit enthusiastic.

"What makes you think Carmine crossed the George Washington Bridge?" Christopher seemed perplexed.

"Sil said he had friends to meet up with, right? Well, maybe he had some in the big apple which would mean that he crossed the bridge to get there." Paulie put two and two together.

"I suppose. Well, let's give it a try." Christopher shrugged.

With that, Paulie started the car back up and drove across the George Washington Bridge.

"Let's make this quick. I hate New York." Paulie was in a hurry to get out of New York as fast as he and Christopher got in.

*Back at the North Tower of the World Trade Center*

11:25pm

After what seemed like an eternity of silence and seeing that it was going to be 12 O'Clock midnight before either of them knew it, Carmine finally decided to speak.

"Santino..." Carmine started.

"Finally, you speak! I was getting tired of the whole silent treatment thing!" Santino breathed a sigh of relief while being irritated at the same time.

"I just wanted you to know that I've appreciated your loyalty all these years. You never steered me wrong. You always encouraged me. You were one of the ones who accepted me as family no matter what. You've been like a mentor to me and I...I've been your protege, so to speak. You're one of a few who has been kind to me and has done wonderful things for me. You never gave up on me, even if you felt like it at times and I know that you've felt it at times. You've been extremely loyal to me and I am forever grateful. You see, I-" Carmine paused when he thought he heard something.

"Carm? What is it?" Santino was a bit thrown off by Carmine pausing like he did.

*Down on the ground*

Paulie and Christopher had parked near the towers and were out looking. However, they stopped when Christopher looked up at how magnificent the towers looked.

"What're you doin'?" Paulie asked.

"What does it look like? I'm looking at how neat the towers look." Christopher was clearly in awe of the twin towers.

"What's so great about them? They're just fuckin' towers. You see 'em everywhere." Paulie was unimpressed.

"To you, they're fuckin' towers. To me, they're amazing pieces of architecture." Christopher shot back.

"Sometimes, I really don't know about you, Chrissy." Paulie shook his head, before turning his flashlight on and shining it around.

"Do you really think Carmine is here?" Christopher asked, while still staring at the towers.

"I don't know, but at this point, you never know. Plus, I saw a car parked here, so who knows?" Paulie continued shining his flashlight around.

"Paulie, you did hear what Sil said, right?" Christopher scratched the back of his head.

"For the one millionth time, yes and I don't give a fuck! He says Carmine is dangerous when pissed, well I got news for him, so am I when I'm angered." Paulie rolled his eyes.

"We're gonna piss him off." Christopher looked around.

"Do I give a fuck if I piss Sil off?" Paulie asked.

"I'm not talking about Sil. I'm talking about Carmine." Christopher replied.

"Fuck him! He's disrespecting T!" Paulie shot back.

*Back on top of the North Tower*

Carmine pulled Santino back into a dark spot, trying to keep both Santino and himself hidden.

"Carm, what is it?" Santino whispered.

"I heard voices from down below. I think it is that fuckin' lady cop who arrested me. She's so damned hellbent on keeping me behind bars and said that she would make sure I remained there, even after I served my sentence." Carmine whispered back.

"She must be on a power trip." Santino shook his head.

"What do you think?" Carmine said with a lot of sarcasm in his voice.

*Back down on the ground*

"Should we call out for him?" Christopher asked.

"That's the dumbest question you could ever ask. Of course, we start calling out for him." Paulie fired back.

Christopher shook his head and rolled his eyes.

"CARMINE!" Paulie called out.

"CARMINE!" Christopher also called out.

"CARMINE DANTE!" Paulie yelled out.

"Should we honk our horn? Flash the headlights?" Christopher looked behind himself then back at Paulie.

"Not yet. Let's wait and see if he crawls out of one of these towers." Paulie said, while staring at the door of the north tower.

"What if he comes out and tries to kill us?" Christopher sounded scared, despite trying hard to hide it.

"He wouldn't dare!" Paulie scoffed.

*Back on top of the North Tower*

"Carm, all of that stuff you said about me, is that-is that true?" Santino asked.

(Now)

*Back at the Bing*

12:05am

It was now 12:05 a.m. and Carmine still hadn't shown up. Tony, Silvio, and everyone else had gone from growing impatient and nervous to a little exhausted. After all, it was midnight and they had been waiting for hours on the end.

"Sil, we've been waiting for Carmine. If he was coming, he would've been here by now." Bobby yawned, as he looked out of a window.

"What have I said before? Be patient. My brother takes his time on things." Silvio traced the top of his glass with his finger.

"Sil, people don't make others wait for hours and hours and hours and hours." Bobby continued to stare out the window.

"Look, like I said before, he just got out of prison after serving 15 years. 15 years of never seeing the outside. Never seeing the city or anything. To him, all of this is brand new." Silvio reminded him.

"Yeah, that's true. I guess we all have to give him that." Bobby nodded.

"Still, it's rude to keep someone waiting." Tony chimed in.

"I know, Tone but this world is kinda brand new to Carmine, so we gotta cut him some slack." Silvio nodded in agreement.

"Okay, I'll give him one more hour to show up, but that's all!" Tony sighed, before slapping the table out of annoyance.

'The longer he stays away, the better.' Carlo thought.

*Silvio's POV*

'I'm sure Carmine has a good reason on being late. He just has to.'

I nod.

'Yeah. He wouldn't ordinarily do this. He wouldn't make people wait and wait and wait and wait.'

I shake my head.

'However, I do pity Paulie and Chrissy. I mean I warned them not go out looking for Carmine. If it was one thing he hated, it was people looking for him instead of him coming to them.'

I cringe.

'Did I just cringe?'

I shake my head.

'Nah, I didn't cringe. That was somebody else. However, knowing the brutality my brother is capable of, cringing wouldn't be a problem.'

*Outside of Silvio's mind*

Silvio took another sip of his beverage and stared at the clock on the wall.

'C'mon, Carmine. C'mon.' Silvio thought.

*Bobby's POV*

'I hope this Carmine character has a reasonable explanation for making Tony and the rest of us wait. It is rude.'

I nod and rub my eyes.

'I can't lie. I am getting exhausted. My eyelids are starting to droop. I hate it when that happens. I really do. However, when a man's tired, the eyelids do start to droop. In fact, I could fall asleep...right n-'

I start to doze off, only for my leg to jerk, causing me to snap awake immediately.

'What's the matter with you, Bobby? Stay awake. There's no falling asleep. No matter how..tired..you may..b-'

I start to doze off again, only to pinch myself awake.

'C'mon, stay awake! Nobody falls asleep at the Bing. Not even , Tony.'

*Outside of Bobby's mind

Bobby kept looking out the window in order to stay awake. After all, there was a part of him wanting to meet the infamous Carmine Dante and there was no way in hell he was gonna let himself fall asleep, even if he felt extremely tired, which he did. However, who could blame Bobby? It was late and when you're tired, you're tired.

*Carlo's POV*

'I don't know why everyone is going on and on about how unfair it is that Carmine is late. The longer that guy stays away, the better.'

I nod my head, only to get a perplexed look on my face.

'Why do I keep saying it one may ask? Well, knowing of his brutal nature and his temper, he just gives me the creeps.'

I shake my head.

'C'mon, Carlo. What's the matter with you? You're surrounded by mobsters and are one yourself to a degree, what're you afraid of?'

I shrug.

*Outside of Carlo's mind*

Unlike everyone else, Carlo was not looking forward to the moment Carmine walked through the front door of the Bing. Nobody could blame him as Carmine was known to be vicious and have a foul temper. Then again, so did just about everyone there, except Bobby, of course.

Carlo kept an eye on his watch and was hoping that Carmine would never show up.

*Tony's POV*

'I'm really getting more and more pissed with Carmine. Cocksucker should've been here by now. You don't keep anybody waiting on your ass!'

I then think back to what Sil said regarding Carmine getting out of prison after 15 years.

'Then again, Sil does have a point. Carmine has been behind bars all this time and when one gets released after being in one of those cages for so long, the whole world is brand new to them.'

I nod and think about the fact that it is rude to keep people waiting.

'Then again, on the same fuckin' token, you don't keep someone waiting. Especially, the boss of the fuckin' family. Last I checked, I am the boss and nobody keeps me waiting! I don't fuckin' care who you are!'

I inhale deeply.

'Patience Anthony. Patience. Don't get too riled up. We're not trying to have another one of your panic attack spells, are we?'

I shake my head, before thinking about what Sil said regarding Carmine's brutal nature.

'Then again, am I really in a hurry to meet Carmine Dante? Am I?'

I nod.

'Of course, I am. C'mon, I don't get all jittery and nervous. That's a sign of weakness. However, the way Sil described everything who w-No, no, I'm not nervous or jittery!'

I look up at the clock.

'12:10. Okay, any day would be nice.'

I sigh.

'Patience. Fucking patience, Anthony!'

*Outside of Tony's mind*

Tony kept on trying to keep his cool, but it was very hard, especially since he was the type who lost his temper over anything. Given what he knew about Carmine, Tony knew deep down inside that if he lost his cool, it would be nothing compared to the older Dante, so keeping his cool would be in his best interests.

Tony folded his arms and stared at the front door of the Bing, waiting to finally meet Carmine once and for all.

*Back at the World Trade Center*

12:25am

It was nearing 12:30 a.m. and both Paulie & Christopher kept on calling Carmine's name, but to no avail. Understandably, Paulie was ready to blow his top, if he hadn't already while Christopher was trying to remain calm and patient which was annoying the crap out of Paulie.

"This is horse shit!" Paulie raised his voice.

Christopher just looked at him, not saying a word.

"Silvio's fuckin' brother should be around here some place. He couldn't have disappeared that fast! However, in his case, he better hope he disappeared. Otherwise, once we find him, we'll bring him back, gagged and hog tied if we have to!" Paulie ranted.

"Paulie, did you miss what Silvio said about Carmine?" Christopher sighed.

"Chrissy, you have asked that question 100 billion times and the answer is still: no, I didn't. I heard what that cocksucker said. Carmine gets very pissed off. Well, I got news for him, so do I. I'm so fuckin' pissed off at the disrespect!" Paulie pounded his fist.

"I wasn't gonna ask about that. I was gonna ask if you heard Sil mention that Carmine got out of prison after 15 years of never seeing the daylight. Let alone the outdoors. Did you miss any of that?" Christopher asked.

"Why the fuck are you asking me now?" Paulie nearly got nose-to-nose with Christopher.

"Because it suddenly dawned on me." Christopher nonchalantly replied.

"Oh, it dawned on you? Nice!" Paulie shot back with a lot of sarcasm.

"Would you shut the fuck up and let me finish?" Christopher sounded genuinely annoyed.

"I'm sorry. Go ahead." Paulie put his hands up in the 'take it easy' gesture, before taking a step back.

"Anyways, like I said, did you miss what Silvio said regarding what I just said? I mean think about it, Paulie. You're in prison for say 15 or 20 years or so. You never see the outside or daylight until the day your sentence is finished. What would you do?" Christopher sounded like a voice of reason.

"You know, now that you mention it, I hadn't really thought about it." Paulie let all of what Christopher said sink in.

"You never think of anything!" Christopher shook his head.

"Watch it!" Paulie shot back.

*Back on top of the North Tower*

"If it wasn't, would I have said it?" Carmine rolled his eyes, while cocking his gun.

Santino's eyes bulged out of his head when he heard the sound of a gun being cocked.

'I guess this is it. This is TRULY it for me. Well, goodbye world.' Santino thought as he was slowly preparing himself to accept his fate.

"Keep your voice down, ya hear?" Carmine whispered to Santino before getting back into the shadows.

Santino tightly shut his eyes and just nodded, still preparing to accept his fate.

Carmine looked down below and saw the figures of Paulie and Christopher. Believing them to be law enforcement or possibly friends of his lady cop nemesis, he was prepared to take them out, not knowing who they were and that they had connections to Tony.

*Carmine's POV*

'I cannot honestly believe she sent her friends after me! I'm a free man!'

I shake my head.

'What are you saying Carmine? Of course, you can. It's her! She's on a fucking power trip! She's bound and fucking determined to keep me behind bars!'

I roll my eyes.

'Lady cops, am I right?'

I chuckle a little, only to shake my head.

'Get serious, Carmine. You gotta be prepared to take these cocksuckers out. I ain't going back to prison! However, I gotta wait until they strike me first. That way, it would be self defense.'

I look over at Santino and get a weird look on my face.

'The hell is with Santino?!'

*Outside of Carmine's mind*

Carmine kept on looking at Santino in a weird way, wondering why he had his eyes shut tightly. However, he quickly focused his attention back to the ground down below and back onto Paulie and Christopher.

"Come on, you bastards!" Carmine quietly said to himself, as he was preparing to possibly battle the two men.

"Carm, I'm ready." Santino whispered, his eyes still shut.

Carmine ignored Santino and kept his attention laser focused on Paulie and Christopher.

"Didn't you hear me, Carm? I said, I'm ready." Santino whispered, again.

"Ready for what, Santino? Can't you see I'm busy?!" Carmine whispered back.

*Back down at the ground*

Paulie came back to the entrance of the north tower after looking all around for Carmine.

"Well?" Christopher asked, while looking around.

"He's nowhere to be found down here." Paulie had an annoyed look on his face.

"Maybe he went inside?" Christopher suggested.

"Probably. Let's go inside." Paulie motioned for Christopher to follow him, before going inside.

*Back at the Bing*

12:45am

More time had slipped by and to say Tony was growing more and more annoyed would be sugarcoating it. Infuriated and impatient were the perfect words for it. Tony was definitely impatient and he was most definitely infuriated, but not only at Carmine's tardiness, but now with Paulie and Christopher not coming back with Carmine.

*Tony's POV*

'The hell is taking Paulie and my nephew so long?! Finding a cocksucker can't be that hard!'

I shake my head and let out a breathy sigh.

'This is getting to be horse shit! I'm almost tempted to go out and find the fuckin' jagoff myself!'

I start to get a little dizzy and try to prevent myself from falling down.

'Easy, Tony, easy. Remember your panic attacks that render you unconscious. Steady now. Steady. You don't wanna be all passed out, do you?'

I shake my head.

'Of course not. Just keep your cool and remember both that and what Sil said about Carmine being set free after spending 15 years inside a cage practically.'

I nod.

'Discipline, Anthony. Discipline.'

*Outside of of Tony's mind*

Despite the fact that his patience had already thinned, Tony tried to keep his composure, so that he wouldn't suffer another one of his infamous panic attacks and pass out. However, he did have the uncontrollable urge to totally lose it and nobody could blame him.

*Bobby's POV*

I snap awake after drifting off again.

'C'mon, Bobby. Stay awake. There's no falling asleep..even though...you...'

I start to drift off again, only to pinch myself, once again.

'Stay awake! There's no sleeping at the Bing. No sleeping whatsoever.'

I fight to keep my eyes open.

'C'mon, Baccalieri. Stay with it.'

*Outside of Bobby's mind*

Bobby continued to struggle to stay awake while looking out the window. Despite being exhausted, he knew this was no time to just drift off to dream land. Silvio's older brother could walk through the door at any given moment and it would be rude to be asleep and snoring one's head off.

*Back at the World Trade Center; inside the North Tower*

12:58am

It was almost one O'Clock in the morning. Paulie and Christopher had searched nearly all of the floors of the north tower, but to no avail. Carmine was nowhere to be found. Little did they know, he was on the roof near the spire/antenna thing. They were on the 40th floor and had many more to go.

"Okay, he ain't on the 40th floor." Paulie sighed.

"Let's go up to the 50th." Christopher lightly suggested, before stepping into the elevator.

"Oh! Why skip the other floors before the 50th?!" Paulie was thrown off a bit.

"He won't be on floors 41-49, Paulie." Christopher told him.

"How do you know?" Paulie asked, as he stepped into the elevator.

"I just have a feeling." Christopher scratched his head.

"Fuck your feelings. We're searching each floor. One at a time, my friend." Paulie pushed the button for floor 41.

*Back on the roof*

"Busy, but-" Santino was cut off.

"What the fuck?!" Carmine saw that Paulie and Christopher were no longer below them.

"What?" Santino asked.

"Those people I saw. They're no longer standing down below us. Whaddya bet they're on their way to the roof?!" Carmine shifted his focus from the ground to the door that led people to the roof of the north tower.

"I-I guess, but-" Santino was cut off, yet again.

"No, ifs, ands, or buts. I gotta be prepared!" Carmine crept back into the shadows, getting himself prepared.

"But what about me?" Santino was nervous and curious at the same time as to what Carmine had in store for him.

"Can't you stop thinking about yourself for a change, Santino?!" Carmine shot back.

"But...I wanna know what you plan on doing with me?" Santino finally said the quiet part out loud.

"You wanna kn-Santino, you already know what's gonna happen!" Carmine sounded annoyed.

"I-I do?" Santino stuttered and nervously gulped.

"Yes. Now, get behind me." Carmine motioned for him to get behind him.

"Um...okay?" Santino was confused, but did so anyways.

"C'mon, you fuckin' cocksuckers! I'm ready for you. Anytime, any day, any fucking moment." Carmine stared at the door, his finger itching towards the trigger of his gun.

*In Santino's mind*

'Why did Carmine make me get behind him? Just why? I mean he's gonna take me out, so why not get it done and over with?'

I gulp hard.

'I mean it's not like he's going to spare me or anything. Why would he?'

I get an idea in my head, but quickly doubt it.

'Nah, he wouldn't spare me. I betrayed him and where we come from, traitors are never spared, so it wouldn't make any logical sense as to why Carmine would want to spare me.'

I shake my head.

'That's a stupid idea. Why the hell did I come up with it?'

I shrug.

'Then again, Carmine is a bit unpredictable, so with him, you never truly know.'

I nod.

*Outside of Santino's mind*

Santino, though very nervous, stood directly behind Carmine as he was told to do and stayed in the shadows. He desperately wanted Carmine to get whatever he had planned to do to him over with, so that way he wouldn't have to suffer any further than he had to and had been for the past many hours. However, Carmine had other things on his mind at the moment that there was a slight hope that he may change his mind about Santino. Then again, Carmine was said to be very unpredictable, so Santino's fate at this point continued to remain uncertain.

*Back at the Bing*

1:10am

It was already one o'clock in the morning and Carmine still hadn't shown up to the Bing. Tony went from being simply infuriated and impatient to being on the brink of losing it and ranting & raving for an hour, which for him was a daily routine, especially if things weren't going right whether it was in his mob life or his home life. Who could blame Mr. Soprano? One could try and try and try to keep things balanced in their lives and still wind up with one shit storm after another. Then again, as such is life. Anyways, Tony was eyeing the car keys hanging out of his pants pocket, clearly tempted to go out and search for Paulie, Christopher, and Carmine himself.

*Tony's POV*

'The fuck is taking so long? It's one in the fuckin' morning! It shouldn't take two people this long to find a prick in Newark! It just shouldn't!'

I slap the table.

'Dammit! Always one damn thing after another! I can never have any peace in my life!'

I close my eyes and take some deep breaths.

'Easy, Anthony, easy. Discipline. Remember, you don't wanna get so pissed off that you pass out. I mean what good are you being passed out.'

I take some more deep breaths.

'That's it. Just be patient, even though, it is so fuckin' hard to do.'

I ball up my fist due to being pissed off.

'If you want something done right, you gotta do it yourself and I'm about ready to go and find this Carmine prick myself!'

I start to get dizzy, again.

'Alright, take it easy. Take it easy. Just be patient.'

*Outside of Tony's mind*

Tony kept on trying to be patient and calm in order to avoid another one of his notorious panic attacks that usually render him unconscious. After all, he didn't want to be unconscious when Carmine would eventually walk into the Bing. What good would the mob boss of the DiMeo crime family be, if he was knocked out? No good at all. While Tony's patience kept on thinning and thinning, Silvio kept on eyeing his watch.

*Silvio's POV*

'Oh c'mon, Carmine! What could be so important and so impressive that you're making us wait?!'

I shake my head, only to remember what I said earlier.

'Silvio, remember, he just got out of prison and hasn't seen the light of day in years, so everything is brand new and he has catching up to do. Ya gotta remember that.'

I nod.

'After all, this is a good lesson in patience. Then again, who in our world has patience?'

I shake my head, again and roll my eyes.

'Scratch that! Just scratch that! Why the fuck did I even ask that?!'

*Outside of Silvio's mind*

Silvio took another sip of his beverage and continued to eye his watch. He was hoping his brother would finally show up, because after all, it was the next day, albeit very early in the morning.

*Back at the World Trade Center; inside the North Tower*

1:25am

It was now one-twenty five in the morning. Paulie and Christopher were on the 46th floor and had many many more to go. While Christopher was still trying to keep his cool, so to speak, the same could not be said for one Paulie Gualtieri. The older man was losing his patience more and more just like Tony.

"This is bullshit!" Paulie pounded his fist on a nearby table.

"Paulie..." Christopher was quickly cut off.

"No! We have been searching these fuckin' cocksucking towers and that Carmine Dante prick is nowhere to be found! Clearly, he ain't here!" Paulie said with a lot of aggression in his voice.

"Paulie, we still have floors 47 to 110 to search. I say we keep going. I mean for all we know, he could be on the roof." Christopher suggested. Little did he know that he made a lucky guess.

"Look, Chrissy, I-Wait a minute. Did you say he might be on the roof?" Paulie got a quizzical look on his face.

"He might be. I can't confirm or deny it, Paulie." Christopher told him.

"Well, the only way to find out is to head straight for the roof." Paulie walked over to the nearest elevator.

"Paulie, I also said I can neither confirm nor deny it." Christopher sounded very unsure.

"Chrissy, let's head to the roof!" Paulie pressed the button for the elevator and stepped in once it opened.

Christopher sighed, before reluctantly stepping into the elevator.

"Straight to the roof." Paulie said, as he pressed the button for the roof.

The elevator doors then shut very loudly.

*Back on the roof*

As if on cue, the elevator's noise reverberated to the roof and kind of swayed the tower a bit. Carmine jolted when he heard the sound and when the tower swayed. Determined to take out whoever was coming, he focused his attention to the door.

"Get ready, Carmine. This could be it!" Carmine said to himself.

Pretty soon, the elevator arrived to the roof and the doors started the process of opening. While this was going on, the sound of a heartbeat could heard going through the ears of Carmine and Santino.

*Inside the elevator*

The sound of the same heartbeat also rang into both Paulie and Christopher's ears as well.

"This is it, Chrissy." Paulie whispered to Christopher, as the elevator continued its opening process.

"This...is...it." Christopher sounded nervous and was shaking a little all over.

To Be Continued...

Tony: I hope this Carmine prick shows up!

Silvio: Tone, you gotta be patient. He'll show.

Paulie: Don't worry. We'll get him and bring him back kicking and screaming, if we have to.

Carmine: Who's gonna hogtie and gag me?!

Christopher: Uh oh! Paulie, he-he-

Silvio: Chrissy, don't spoil anything!

Carmine: Please, R&R!
