Roman clapped his hands when Meggie stopped playing another song on her violin.
"You sure got some talent, baby girl," he said.
"Thank you," she said.
"Play another one," he said.
She nodded and lifted her violin again. Banging on his front door made them both look up.
"Damn it, I forgot to close the gate when I ran back. My car is still out on the street. It's probably a neighbor asking me to move it. Wait here," he said.
She nodded and watched him leave the room. Seeing how many hours had passed since breakfast, she could only hope it would be Seth and Dean waiting on the other side of the door. She didn't know how much longer she could keep up this game pretending to want to give it a try with Roman.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Roman asked angrily.
A smile spread on Meggie's face when she heard Seth and Dean argue back with Roman.
"Get the fuck out of my house!" Roman yelled.
"Meggie?" Seth yelled.
"I'm in the living room!" Meggie yelled back.
All three men came tumbling into the living room. Roman grabbed Meggie and pushed her behind him before pulling out a gun and aiming it at Seth. Both Seth and Dean stood still and held their hands in front of them.
"Roman, this is not you," Dean said.
"Shut up!" Roman growled. "Why are you even here? You're supposed to be my friend!"
"I'm friends with both of you," Dean said.
"You made your choice. One step closer and you can die with him," Roman said.
"No one needs to die," Dean said.
"You shouldn't have come here, Dean," Roman said. "I don't want to hurt you."
"Then don't hurt me," Dean said.
Roman kept moving his eyes between the two men. He wanted to shoot Seth on the spot but if he did that, he would have to shoot Dean too. He couldn't leave one witness alive but he didn't want to kill Dean.
"Why couldn't you have stayed home with Becky?" Roman asked.
"You know why," Seth answered.
"I sent you a text saying to stay away," Roman said.
"I knew that text was from you. I love her, Roman. I will always love her," Seth said.
"You can't have her back!" Roman growled.
"Roman, look at me," Dean said. "Stay with me, big fellow. It's me. It's Dean. Your friend through the last decade."
"You left us to become Tony Khan's favorite monkey," Roman said. "You're no friend of mine. My friend would have stayed."
"You told me to go if I was unhappy," Dean said.
"So it's my fault now?" Roman asked. "You weren't supposed to leave, Dean! But in the end it was better because I knew you would figure it out somehow. I needed you all isolated and away from each other so I could have her."
Roman looked over his shoulder at Meggie. She hadn't moved one bit. He smiled at that. She knew her place already. He turned his head to look at Seth and Dean again.
"I did everything to make her see I was the better choice. I had them split us up and turn Seth heel so she could see how cruel he could be," Roman said.
"She knows it's all fake," Seth said.
"But she was supposed to see beyond that. She was supposed to see how easy you could pull out that side," Roman said.
"So can you. You're the tribal chief these days. You're the biggest heel in the entire company," Seth said.
"Shut up!" Roman shouted. "This isn't about that!"
Seth looked over at Dean who quickly shrugged. There was no point in continuing down this path. Roman was delusional.
"Dean, you need to leave," Roman said.
"I can't do that," Dean said.
"You either leave or you die with Seth," Roman said.
"Put the gun down, Roman. No one has to get hurt," Dean said.
Roman looked at Dean and lowered the gun a little, then shook his head while baring his teeth, and looked over at Seth.
"He does!" Roman said.
Roman raised the gun again and then a sharp pain went through his head. He fell to his knees, and Dean and Seth ran in to keep him down. Meggie dropped the broken violin on the floor. She had knocked Roman down with it. Seth got his phone out of his pocket and dropped it on the floor.
"Call the cops, Meggie," Seth said.
"No!" Roman screamed. "Don't fucking call them! I demand you tell Seth you're in love with me!"
"Fuck you!" Meggie said coldly.
Meggie picked up Seth's phone and called the cops. It didn't take long before police officers came flying through the door and handcuffed Roman. Seth moved up and wrapped his arms around Meggie. She broke down in his arms and held on tight to him.
"I got you, my beautiful pearl," he said.
"Don't let go," she begged.
"I'm never letting go," he said.
They watched as police officers dragged Roman kicking and screaming out of the house. Dean looked over at them and scratched his head.
"I don't know what to say right now," Dean said.
"Me neither," Seth said.
"We should probably leave," Dean said.
"That might be a good idea," Seth said.
"I need to quickly pack my things," Meggie said.
"We'll help," Seth said.
It was late when Seth and Meggie finally made it back home to Iowa. The house was empty when they stepped inside. Becky and all her belongings were gone. Seth sighed and pulled Meggie in for a kiss.
"Welcome home," he said.
"It's good to be home," she said.
"Let's get a good night's sleep. Tomorrow is a new day and a new beginning for us. First order of the day is buying you a new violin," he said.
"I love you," she said.
"I love you too," he said.
He pulled her in for another kiss and then yawned.
"Yup, I need some sleep," he chuckled. "It's going to be the best night's sleep in a long time when I get to have you in my arms all night."
