Over the weekend, Claudia was able to find Janine alone. She decided to bring up Mimi's Bible she and their parents recently found.
"Janine?"
"What?"
"Did you ever know anything about Mimi being a religious person?" Claudia asked.
Janine shook her head.
"What gives you that crazy idea?"
"Well, Mom, Dad and I found something in the attic that belonged to Mimi."
"What is it?"
"A Bible."
"That can't be right. I remember nothing about seeing a Bible with her. You must be finding a joke."
"No. I'm surprised myself. Even Mom and Dad can tell you it's the truth one hundred percent," Claudia told her sister.
"I'm not going to believe either of you unless I see it for myself that isn't a joke."
"It's falling apart too."
"That's because it was several years ago when she was alive. She must've done that when none of us were around the house with school and work."
"You're probably right," Claudia agreed.
"Where is that thing so I can see it?"
"Dawn took it home with her to flip through. She was curious when I told her at the meeting the other day."
"Is she starting to act like you with all of these questions?" Janine asked.
"She found Jesus first," Claudia answered.
"Then why are you doing the same thing?"
Claudia shook her head.
"Even I don't know the answer. I'm hearing from God Himself."
"This must be a dream, Claudia. I don't believe any of this."
"Mom and Dad will say the same thing. Ask them yourself," Claudia repeated.
"All right. I'll go ask them. Where are they?"
"In the living room downstairs, I think."
Claudia followed her sister down the stairs and their parents were both sitting on the couch.
"Mom, Dad?"
"Yes, Janine?" he asked.
"Claudia was just telling me about Mimi hiding a Bible after all of these years. Tell me it's a joke," Janine told them.
"Claudia, did you show your sister the Bible?" their mother asked.
"It's not here right now."
"Where is it?" he asked.
"Dawn took it home after the meeting the other day," Claudia answered.
"Just as long as she returns it."
"She will, Mom. I don't like the change around here about God."
"Things change all the time, Claudia. We never got around to this subject when your grandmother was still alive. It was a topic Mimi knew that wouldn't interest any of us. Maybe she kept that secret to herself."
"I'm happy we found out. I thought I felt her spirit when we did that," Claudia replied.
"I'm sure you did, dear. Once Dawn brings it back you can show Janine."
"I will, Mom."
Once the girls headed back upstairs to Janine's bedroom, Claudia said, "I told you the truth now. Don't you believe me yet?"
"Not until I see the Bible for myself. Then I will see if I would believe this joke or not."
"Mimi even left a note in there. The note did sound like her."
Janine just stared at her.
"What sort of note is it?"
Claudia told her.
Now Janine got interested in that note.
"I guess you found out what she was hiding from us."
Claudia didn't know what to think.
"I wish she would've said something to us before she passed away."
"She knew we wouldn't understand anyway."
The two girls kept talking about Mimi until Claudia left Janine's room.
"I wish I could believe what Janine just said about this whole thing about you, Jesus, Mimi a joke. I don't even know what to think."
Then God's voice came.
"Claudia, just listen to Me. I am only here to help you start believing in Me or starting to. I chose you because of your gift of creativity I chose out for you. And then you found it."
"I still don't understand what this has to do with me."
"I wish You could help change Janine. Do you think my parents are changing?"
"Not yet. I'm working on all of you at the same time."
"Is that how Dawn chose to change her life around?"
"Yes."
Claudia didn't say anything after that short conversation with Jesus.
What would Jesus do to continue working in her life?
