Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail
AN: I wrote a Laxus version and a Lucy version to make it more fun. I did have some struggle with the second part. I got some inspiration from kayzeee. She has some great fics as well, so check her out. I actually recently did a presentation for one of my classes about hoarding, hence part of the inspiration for the second part. Sorry for the grammar mistakes and enjoy.
Version 1
"Babe, where are my spare sound pods?" Laxus called out from their bedroom as he searched the room for his soundpods. The one Laxus used to use broke, which is why he kept a spare around. He couldn't remember where he last placed them, which is why he asked Lucy. She's also reminding him where he puts his stuff like his wallet, keys and now sound pods were added to the list.
"Check the closet," Lucy yelled back from downstairs, poking her head out from the kitchen as she stirred the batter in her arms with a spoon. "If it's not on your side of the closet, check the attic! You took a lot of stuff upstairs to make room for mine!" When she moved in with Laxus, his closet was a slight mess. Filled with too much stuff. Laxus and Lucy put the belongings they didn't need for immediate use upstairs in the attic. It was stuff they still needed or were childhood memories that they wanted to keep as mementos. Laxus might have possibly taken it upstairs when he organized his closet.
Laxus searched his closet and still didn't find the sound pods, so he decided to take Lucy's suggestion to go search the attic. When Lucy moved in with him, he did a lot of rearranging to make her more comfortable and make it feel like it was her home as well. He didn't mind the changes. Laxus actually liked them. Laxus especially liked Lucy's expensive skincare and hair dryer, although he might not admit it. He felt pampered and luxurious.
Laxus headed upstairs and turned on the light in the attic. There were multiple boxes scattered around the room. He let out a sigh. Laxus hoped he labeled it or something.
Spotting a box in Lucy's handwriting in the corner that said Laxus stuff, he assumed something of his was inside. However, to his surprise, when he opened the box, there were journals inside.
Huh. Laxus thought to himself when he picked up one of the journals. What the hell is this? Laxus knew it they weren't his, since they were pink and decorated with hearts and stickers. He picked up another that said meeting log. Curious as to what this may be, especially since the owner's name wasn't on it, but Laxus's was on the box, he opened the book. Laxus's eyes went wide at the words on the page.
Day 1. Today is officially the first meeting of the Laxus Dreyar fan club! Only people who admire Laxus Dreyar and think he's totally hot and cool can join! Today's designated note taker is me, Lucy Heartfillia, President of the Laxus Dreyar fan club! Attending this meeting other than myself is Violet Lovecraft and Julie Hayborne!
Laxus abruptly shut the book and looked around the room to make sure no one else was around. Holy shit. Laxus thought to himself. He couldn't believe this. Laxus had to read more because he didn't know anyone by the name of Violet or Julie. This must have been written during the time Lucy lived as part of the nobility. Judging from the way it was written, and the date on the corner, Lucy must have 15 or 16. They got together when she was 18 (25 if you include the time ship) and Lucy joined the guild at 17.
Laxus made sure to keep his ears open, so that Lucy doesn't sneak up on him. This was too good to pass on and ignore. He heard stories of Lucy dreaming of being a part of Fairy Tail since she was young and was a fan; knowing a lot of information about the members. He just didn't realize she was his fan.
Laxus, with some enthusiasm, opened the journal once more and continued to read.
As an initiation and introduction to one another, each member will say one thing they like about Laxus Dreyar, which will be noted in another book as well. During meetings (when we are able to schedule), members will say one thing they like about Laxus Dreyar, expanding the list! This is to insure equality and fairness for those who admire such an amazing mage.
Laxus's pride swelled when read Lucy's statement of calling him an amazing mage. He did have a bit of an ego, so he liked compliments. He skipped the statements from the other members and mostly focused on Lucy's.
I think Laxus is an inspiration to those who want to be a mage in Fairy Tail. He was able to accomplish amazing feats and help people at such a young age! Being able to achieve S-Class status as a teenager. Who wouldn't want to be like him? He makes me want to push myself so I can become a better and stronger person!
Laxus couldn't help but get a little emotional at the paragraph Lucy wrote. He was going through so much internal turmoil from the surrounding people, who caused him to act out and isolate himself. His father abused him and abandoned him. Mages constantly compare him with his grandfather and great grandfather. If Laxus was able to read genuine comments such as this, maybe he wouldn't have so much distrust of the people who genuinely cared about him.
Laxus took a second to compose himself and continued reading. Lucy's comments were making his heart grow warmer and warmer. He went through two books of meeting logs. One book was a list of admirations that Laxus couldn't help but chuckle at some of them and a book filled with his interviews and pictures from magazines. Laxus finally got to the final book and noticed the date. This was around the time Lucy joined the guild so he was curious to read what she thought of him. A part of him dreaded reading it.
Laxus knew he did not make a good first impression. Or second or third. His exile made him realize a lot of things and he proved himself over and over again. Maybe this entry won't be too harsh. However, a part of him still felt guilty about what transpired between them, and Laxus knows Lucy is too good for him.
The first few were mostly about her excitement about joining Fairy Tail and her initial impressions of the people she met so far. It wasn't until Laxus got to the middle that his heart dropped.
Now I understand why people say don't meet your heroes. Well, I didn't physically meet him face to face, but I was able to see him up close on the communication lacrima. How can anyone be so selfish and full of themselves? I was already feeling guilty about the situation with Phantom and he just had to rub it in. I know that I was weak and useless, but having someone I once admired say it to my face hurt even more.
Thinking about it, it did hurt. I was disappointed because Laxus wasn't who I thought he was. A person of integrity and justice. But I won't let his words get to me and ruin what I've been able to accomplish so far as a person. For once in my life, I felt loved and supported by my guildmates.
I feel bad for him. Being angry and having a constant negative perspective on life. It's only going to get worse and those feelings, if not addressed, will continue to grow into something horrible. I wish no ill will on him and hope for the best for him. One day, he will realize that the people around him love him and support him. He just needs time to become a vessel capable of accepting love. I wish you the best, Laxus Dreyar, and hope you are able to make peace with the chaos in your heart.
Laxus felt a tear stream down his face at the last sentence and hastily wiped it away. Despite what he said to her, Lucy harbored no hard feelings towards him. How can such a kind soul be with a broken person like him? He did end up apologizing to Lucy, and she forgave him, but the guilt was still there.
Laxus, absorbed in his reading, did not realize the footsteps approaching him. Lucy didn't hear from Laxus for a while, so she wondered if he was able to find his sound pods. Despite calling out his names a few times, Laxus did not answer, so she went up the stairs to the attic. Whatever Laxus was doing, he looked really absorbed in it. "What are you reading," asked Lucy, putting her hand on one shoulder and peering over it.
Laxus abruptly closed the book and almost jumped in place when he felt Lucy's hand on his shoulder. "Nothing," he said quickly, trying to put all the books back in the box without Lucy realizing what it was. However, it was too late because Lucy was able to catch the title of one of the meeting logs and let out a huge eep. She dashed for the book, trying to grab it from Laxus's grasp as she sprawled against his lap. After wrestling for a few minutes with Lucy losing by a milestone, she buried her face deep into Laxus's chest to hide her embarrassment.
"How much did you read," Lucy squeaked as she felt the blush on her face get deeper. She never felt so embarrassed in her life. Now Laxus probably thought she was a crazy fan girl and purposely approached him.
"Most of it," confessed Laxus, rubbing the back of his head sheepishly. It was better to come clean about the situation. "I didn't know you followed me and my work as a mage," he muttered softly as he wrapped his arms around Lucy in an embrace and buried his face into her hair.
"Oh, my god. You must think I'm a stalker and a creep. I swear I didn't approach you with hidden intentions!"
"Actually, I found it quite endearing and flattering," admitted Laxus, squeezing her a little tighter in his arms. "Till I read the last one."
Laxus leaned back to gaze down at Lucy and cupped her cheek, gently brushing her cheek with his thumb. "I know I've said this constantly, but I am so sorry. For being a selfish jerk. For what I did to you and everyone. For disappointing you. The list can go on." He let out a self deprecating snort. "You should probably start a new book and list all of my faults."
"Laxus, you know I forgave you a long time ago." Lucy cupped Laxus's face with her hands, brushing the tear that streamed down his face. "Everyone forgave you. You are a changed man. A good person," she emphasized. "I love that man that you are now. Faults and everything."
"I know babe, but I can't help it but think of it sometimes," admitted Laxus. It was one of his deepest fears. That Lucy will realize all of his faults. Realize that she's too good for him and can do better than the guild's delinquent. Leaving him to be alone. A punishment that he rightfully deserves.
"Wait here for a second." Lucy left the room for a couple minutes and came back with a familiar wooden box. Laxus's eyes widened for a second. It was the box Lucy stored her letters to her mother in.
Lucy sat on the floor next to Laxus. She opened the box, shuffling the envelopes until she found the ones she was looking for. Lucy pulled out 3 envelopes and handed them to Laxus. "Open it," she encouraged with a smile, closing the lid.
Laxus gently grabbed the envelopes from Lucy and put him on his lap. He opened the one with the earliest date. He was about to read it out loud when Lucy interrupted him.
"I'd appreciate it if you could read them to yourself." Lucy shyly looked away from Laxus when started to open the envelope to read it. "There's only so much embarrassment I can take today," she murmured, fanning her face with her hand to cool her down.
Lucy twiddled her fingers while she wanted for Laxus to finish reading her letters.
Dear Mama,
I-I think I like someone. Like not admire but like. His name is Laxus Dreyar. You remember him right, from my previous letters? Things were kind of rough between us in the beginning when I joined the build. He was able to find peace within himself and we made amends. We've started talking at the guild. Little by little. Step by step. I didn't realize we had a lot in common; things that weren't mentioned in his interviews. I can't help but look at him in a new light. He's been looking very handsome lately and my heart feels strange around him. I feel embarrassed about writing this, but I think I'm developing a crush. What should I do Mama?
P.S.
I think I've become delusional. Seriously. In what mind was working in close vicinity with the guy I'm having a crush on a good idea?!
Dear Mama,
It finally happened. Laxus asked me out on a date. I thought he never would! The amount of tension and dancing around in the room. If he took any longer, I was going to grab him into his office and have my way with him. And the date was amazing! We had dinner at a nice restaurant and went to the observatory. It was nice to feel appreciated and respected for once on a date. You know I haven't had such luck or experience in the dating field, so this was a nice change of pace. Laxus really knows how to treat a girl well. I had butterflies in my stomach the whole time as he escorted me like a gentleman! And he wanted to go on another one which I said yes, of course. Continue to watch over me, Mama. I know it's too early to tell, but I think this is the one. This is something that can turn into a meaningful relationship.
Dear Mama,
Sorry I haven't written to you in a while. A lot of things happened and with the move, things got busy. Laxus asked me to move in with me! If someone told me in the past that I was going to date Laxus Dreyar in the future, I would have thought they were joking! It's strange how life can turn out. I wish you could meet him. You and Papa would really like him. I never thought I would end up with someone amazing, like Laxus. I love him so much. He's the man I would love to spend my life with.
I will continue to keep you in my thoughts, Mama. Hopefully, the letters will come more often after today. I have to keep you updated on your future grandchild, after all. Can't wait to see Laxus's reaction. Until next time.
Love Lucy.
"Wait, a minute." Laxus scanned the final paragraph of the 3rd letter once more to see if he misread, dropping the letter when he was done. This was a recent letter. He looked at Lucy with emotion in his eyes. "Are you…?" Laxus got a nod in response and scooped Lucy in his arms for a hug.
"Thank you. Thank you," he whispered, tears streaming down his face, kissing an equally tearful Lucy. This was what he always wanted. A family to call his own. Once he calmed down, Laxus gave Lucy a loving kiss and rubbed her stomach. "How long?"
"Almost 12 weeks." Lucy tearfully giggled in response as she sniffled. "I was going to tell you today with a cake." It was what she was working on in the kitchen. She was feeling under the weather lately, going to Porly for a checkup and was surprised to find out she was expecting.
"I'm so happy, Lucy!" Laxus had a huge grin on his face and shifted the two of them so he was able to place his ear near Lucy's abdomen. His face changed to a look of amazement as he detected a faint heartbeat with his ears. "Thank you for being with me, Lucy. Thank you for being a part of my family. I promise and swear with my life that I will protect both of you with my life." Laxus was nothing like his father and he would do right by his children by being a better father than Ivan was.
Laxus sat up, with Lucy staring right back as they gazed lovingly at each other, when a beeping sound from downstairs broke the magic.
Lucy shot up from the ground and stood up frantically. "My cake!" She forgot she put it in the oven and now the fire alarm was ringing. The mess she had to clean up caused her to let out a groan.
"Hold up babe, no running around in your condition. I'll go down with you. Besides, you can't reach the fire alarm, anyway." Laxus smirked and raised his arm in defense when Lucy smacked his shoulder. He gathered her into his arms bridal carry as they headed downstairs.
"Lucy."
"Yeah."
"I love you."
"I love you, too."
Version 2
"Do you have it?" A man wearing a black cloak that covered his face asked the man in front of him as they met in a dark alleyway. He was also wearing a black cloak to conceal his identity.
The man in front, who was also wearing a cloak, nodded his head, pulling a box out of his satchel to give to the man in front of him. "I had a hard time getting this one. This was the only one left. You can check to see if the contents of the box are safe and legit."
The man nodded and took the box, tossing a pouch of money into the seller's hands. "I trust you. This transaction will be private and off the books as usual, correct?" He put the box under his arm, hidden from view.
"Of course. Anything for my best customer. I'll even leave you with another tip. It hasn't been announced yet. Next shipment is coming next month and there's only going to be 7!"
"Save one for me, as always. Keep me posted and I'll contact you for the next meeting spot and date."
Both men went their separate ways. One headed towards the city, the other headed towards the outskirts of town, to a house. He entered his home, shaking off the cloak, revealing blonde hair and blue eyes. After removing his boots, the man headed upstairs to a study.
Laxus Dreyar took a deep breath and pulled a book from the study, a clicking sound echoing throughout the room, the two bookshelves moving apart to reveal a hidden door. Punching the numbers on a keypad, the green button lit up, opening the door.
Now people were probably wondering. What was inside this room? Why did Laxus go to all these lengths to safeguard these treasures? What was in the box?
The room was originally used to store the lightning lacrimas during the Fantasia incident. Now that room was put to good use for storing objects. What were the objects in question?
Laxus sat at a desk located in the middle of the room. Using a box-cutter, he carefully opened the box. Removing the bubble wrap and tissue paper revealed a figurine.
"Finally," Laxus murmured, admiring the figurine in his hand. "I finally got the Lucy Heartfilia Limited Edition Star Dress Leo Form figurine." If his girlfriend saw him now in this room, Laxus wasn't sure how Lucy would react.
Originally, the purchases of Lucy merch were a show of support because a percentage of the profits went to the person themselves. Lucy was not aware he was buying her merch or else she would have declined. Somehow, one purchase turned into two and now Laxus has accumulated a plethora of merch placed in his secret room. Ranging from posters, magazine articles, to figurines. He couldn't understand this need to hoard things of his girlfriend. After some extensive research on dragons and dragon slayers, he came to a conclusion that his dragon characteristics were responsible. Just like how Natsu hoarded objects filled with memories of missions completed with his comrades, and Gajeel with his metals. He wasn't sure what Wendy had hoarded and wasn't about to ask. In Laxus's case, it was things related to his girlfriend. He even kept souvenirs of places they went on dates like ticket stubs, restaurant menus, and even the books she published.
Laxus had it bad, and he knew it. He felt like Juvia. What would he do if they came out with Lucy pillows? Yeah, it was better if he kept this to himself. The other person who was aware of his obsession was Max, his supplier of the merch. Everything that came to the store went through Max first. The factory that produces the merch has a partnership with the merch store Max runs, which is why he knows so much. Shipment dates, release dates, and even limited edition items that are released at random and in limited quantities as well.
The current figurine that Laxus obtained only produced 10 in existence, so he believed Max when he said he had a hard time obtaining it. Sometimes clients would pre-order ahead of time, so Laxus got really lucky to get one. His collection of limited edition star dresses was almost complete. It seemed like the factory would produce in correspondence to the zodiac time period. He only needed Virgo and Scorpio since Lucy did not have Pisces or Libra. Laxus was especially looking forward to the Virgo Star Dress because it was basically a maid costume.
Laxus placed the figurine on an empty spot on the shelf he made room for, next to the other figurines. He had 2 empty spots for the two future figurines as well. Now Laxus just had to obtain them. He trusted Max to come through and continue to keep his secret. So far, no one had any suspicions, and he intended to keep it that way. This was a secret he was going to take to his grave.
The Next Day at the guild
"Huh! It sold again?! Awwww. I really wanted to get my hands on that one." Lucy was flattered and grateful her merch was popular among people, but she liked to have one thing for herself.
"Sorry, Lucy. It's called a limited edition for a reason." Max gave Lucy a sheepish smile as he continued to stock the shelves of the shop. "First come, first serve."
"Then I want to pre-order the Virgo design!"
"All pre-orders have already been filled, Lucy. You have to be quicker than that."
"It hasn't even been released yet, Max." Lucy looked at him with wide eyes.
"I'm running a business here, Lucy. I have to give my clients what they want and they really like the limited edition star dress figurines." Max put a figurine in its place and turned around to face Lucy. "Why would you even want a figurine of yourself, anyway?"
"Come on, Max. I just want 1 to call my own. I would like to look back upon this moment with fondness, you know," said Lucy in a matter-of-fact tone. "Can't you contact the factory who's making the figurines? Maybe they'll make an exception for the person modeled after the figurines." Lucy batted her eyelashes innocently.
"I don't know. It might be tough. I heard a lot of work goes into the making of the figurines," explained Max, with a contemplative look on his face. "Unless you have something to offer in return. Something that would make a lot of money for them."
"What about a never before seen design? Not even the public knows about this specific star dress transformation." Lucy internally smirked when she saw she had Max's attention. Max might be a good salesperson, but he still wasn't up to Lucy's level when it came to conducting business.
"Go on." Hook. Line. Sinker.
Lucy leaned forward to whisper into Max's ear, his eyes growing wider with each sentence. "I think that would make a good limited edition item, won't you think? And it fits within the time frame because the months would align." The company was dedicated to making the figurines as accurate as possible.
"Yes! We can present it as a limited edition summer merch! 5 in production to make up for timing and still keep the intricate designs!" Max replied in a passionate tone, dollar signs appearing in his eyes. He could make a fortune out of this from his VIP list! "I'll ask the production manager to let you keep the prototype. We have to start designing asap!"
A few days later
"Laxus! I need your opinion on something," Lucy called out from the bedroom they shared. She had two figurines in her hand, both of her Stardress mix Leo and Virgo form. She was trying to figure out which pose to choose as the final product. One of the poses was a regular fighting pose with her hands on her hips. The other one was of her performing her lion maiden spell. She was leaning more towards the lion maiden spell, but the company said she could keep the one that wasn't going to be produced. This left her in a tough position.
When Laxus entered the room a few seconds later, Lucy raised the figurines in the air, going on a rant and oblivious to the strange look on Laxus's face. "I do not know which one to choose! I like both poses but the company said I can keep one for myself. The prototype that's not going into production. It's a limited edition, so it'll make good money and I'll get a piece of the profits, anyway. But what about my fans?! I should think of them, right? Which they would want more, not what I want to keep. Laxus, are you listening?" Lucy blinked owlishly when she noticed Laxus just staring at her.
Laxus cleared his throat and gave her a small smile. "I'm listening. Just not making sense of the situation." Did Lucy find out about his hobby? It couldn't be because these were figurines that he didn't have in the collection. Laxus could only assume they were unreleased merch. He was going to have a 'nice' chat with Max after this conversation. How dare he gatekeep information on the new Lucy merch from him?! Laxus expected a discount after this.
"Oh." Lucy let out a voice of realization and her skin flushed red in embarrassment. "Sorry." She stood from her spot to walk closer to Laxus and raised the figurines in the air to give Laxus a better view. "I tried to get my hands on one of the limited edition Star Dress merch, but they always sell out before I can get my hands on it. I made a deal with a company who helps produce Fairy Tail merch. We are creating a new limited figurine based on a never before seen Star Dress which should release at the end of the month." Lucy waved the figurine for emphasis. "I get to keep one for myself while the other one goes into production. I'm torn between the two poses. I really like the one where I'm performing my spell. However, do I really want to deny my fans the Lucy experience?"
Laxus chuckled at Lucy's statement, who gave him an angry pout in return. He patted her softly on the head and gave her his answer. Personally, he also liked the one where she was performing the spell. However, Laxus did not want Lucy to know that he also wanted to keep this design for himself and no one else. Only he would have the satisfaction of having a Lucy merch no one else had. "It's a limited edition item anyway, right? I think you are doing your fans a favor by going with the regular fighting pose since not everyone who likes you will be able to get your merch. We don't want your fans to fight over the Lucy experience, after all," teased Laus with a grin.
"Okay," Lucy nodded with a smile. She went on her tippy toes to give Laxus a kiss. "Thanks for your help, Laxus." She gave him another beaming smile, placing the figurine they were going to keep on her writing desk. Lucy skipped out of the room to call Max about her final decision on the design.
When Lucy walked out of the room, Laxus scrambled towards the figurine, admiring it from all angles before Lucy caught him. Of course, he was still going to pick up the one with the fighting pose to add to the collection. This was a bonus.
Now Laxus had to figure out a way to take it from Lucy to put it in his room of Lucy merchandise without sounding suspicious.
The Next Day At The Guild: With Lucy and Levy
"Hey, Lisanna. Did Natsu do something again?" Levy waved Lisanna over to join her and Lucy at the bar.
"Ugh. Don't get me started. I tripped over Natsu's stuff again. I don't get why he hoards everything." Lisana slumped over the bar counter and slammed her head against it. His house was always a mess.
"Gajeel does the same thing but with his metal. I swear I still find pieces of metal in random spots. What about you, Lu-chan?"
Lucy stopped sipping her shake at her name being called. "What about me?"
"Does Laxus hoard anything?"
"Not that I know of. He usually keeps everything neat and tidy at home." Lucy tried to think of something that screamed the strange accumulation of items. "I mean, he has his rock memorabilia, but I think it's just a normal collection of a rock enthusiast."
"There has to be something. I talked to Wendy about this. You know about dragon slayer hoarding tendencies? Wendy likes collecting medical texts and anything medicine related," pointed out Levy. "All the generations do it." Levy leaned in closer to the girls and whispered. "I heard Rogue collects stuffed animals, specifically frogs."
"That's actually kind of sweet." Lucy let out a smile at that. "I wonder if Yukino is aware of that. What about the others?"
"Cobra likes collecting poisonous items. You'll be surprised at the list and what constitutes as poison. It even includes cleaning items." Erza joined in the conversation, finding this topic to be fascinating. "Not too sure about Sting, though."
"Probably something vain, like collecting posters of himself," joked Lucy and all the girls laughed at that statement.
"Good one, Lu. But in all seriousness, you should do a little investigating. Laxus must have something he hoards. He probably has a secret stash somewhere!"
"Oh, Natsu definitely has a secret stash on top of his regular stash." Lisanna shook her head at the absurdity of the situation. "The box is marked Natsu's secret stash. Don't touch."
"It's probably just autographed rock merch." Lucy shrugged her shoulders and looked at the clock. "It's getting late and Laxus should be home soon from his mission. I'll see you girls tomorrow." Lucy waved the girls goodbye and headed home.
Actually, Laxus wouldn't be home for another 2 hours, but what Levy and Lisanna said got her thinking. What DID Laxus like to collect? Because from the sounds of it, it seemed like the other dragon slayers couldn't help but collect those specific items that were unique to their nature. Laxus could control himself if he didn't get a CD or poster from a band he liked. Maybe it was time for her to play detective. Knowing Laxus, it would be in a place she would last expect.
Lucy started exploring the different rooms in the house where she believed had enough room to hide a secret pile of items. As expected, Lucy didn't find anything. Maybe it was all in her head.
Lucy let out a tired sigh and went to rest in the study. Laxus did the guild paperwork in. She noticed a small stack of books on the desk and decided to put them back in their respective spots. Some of the books he liked to reference just in case the Council tried to do something shady. Laxus liked covering all of his bases and if there was a particular law or purchase he didn't understand, he would consult with her to get another opinion. Guess all those classes came in handy.
As Lucy was putting away the final book in its spot, she noticed a book that looked out of place. Curious as to what it was, she pulled it from its slot to read the title when the shelves pulled apart in the middle, revealing a hidden door.
Lucy blinked in disbelief at the hidden door. I can't believe Laxus didn't tell me he had a secret room! Oh wait. If he told me, it wouldn't have been a secret. She gave herself a face palm as she approached the keypad. She went deep in thought for a few seconds and punched in a few numbers. Lucy gave the keypad a look of disbelief once more when it turned green and the door opened. As flattered as she was that the passcode was her date of birth, Laxus should have come up with something a bit more difficult to figure out.
Lucy walked inside the room and her eyes went wide at the contents in the room. It was filled with Lucy merch from Max's store; posters, figurines, newspaper articles. Almost everything Max carried in the store and they were all in pristine condition and well-organized.
"So that's where you went," Lucy whispered when her eyes fell upon the Lucy figurines. She continued to gaze at the room when a glass case caught her eye. It didn't look like something Max sold in his store, and it looked out of place compared to everything else.
"Oh." Lucy let out a soft gasp when she opened the case. She picked up the first item that caught her eye. It was the ticket stub from when they first started dating. Laxus took her to the Magnolia Observatory, where they saw a special exhibit on the stars and ate dinner on the top deck, surrounded by the night sky. It was one of the most romantic dates Laxus has taken her on that was dear to her heart.
Lucy put the ticket stub back in its place and picked up the next item. It was an article from a magazine. It looked like Laxus took a specific page and framed it with glass. Lucy won a writing award for an editorial she wrote for a prestigious magazine. The piece talked about Fiore's current political system and some of the reforms the council could make for the sake of not only mages but regular citizens as well. She was so proud of it. Lucy knew Laxus supported her work, but she never thought like this.
Lucy put the frame back in its respective spot, closing the case and continued to look around the room. She giggled at a stuffed penguin standing on a shelf. They went to a local carnival and Lucy won an archery game, giving Laxus the prized penguin.
Another shelf caught Lucy's eye, and she walked up to it to get a better look. "So this is where you guys went?" In front of her were the limited edition Star Dress figurines. "I think my boyfriend is a better fan of me than I am," murmured Lucy, with a giggle. "To think I've been living with my biggest fan all this time."
If Lucy was any other rational person, she might have gotten slightly freaked out by the situation and ran. However, Lucy was hopelessly in love and this wasn't upsetting to her at all. This was so endearing and flattering to her. Laxus cared about her this much. He wasn't good with words, so Laxus would physically show her how he felt. But this was just as good. Laxus supported her career, her thoughts, and appreciated her existence.
"Oh! He kept this as well!" Lucy felt herself get emotional once more when she saw the heart-shaped box that held his Valentine's Day chocolate they spent the first year as a couple. "My silly little dragon." She read the card she wrote for him. Lucy felt shy, so she wrote her feelings on a card. Flashbacks of fond memories popped into her head as she gazed at different items in the room.
Laxus deserves a reward. Lucy thought to herself as she closed the door behind her. She made sure to put everything back in its place. What should I get him, though? Maybe me? All wrapped up and served as a delicious pattern. Yes! That sounds great.
Laxus comes home
"Welcome home, Master."
Thump!
Laxus's bag fell to the floor at that statement, and his eyes went wide at Lucy's appearance. She donned the maid costume from Virgo's Star Dress. This was the first thing he saw when he opened the door to their shared home. This was a sight he could get used to.
Lucy ignored the gobsmacked look on Laxus's face and pulled him closer inside the house, closing the front door. She proceeded to take off his coat and put it on the hanger. "You must be exhausted from your mission, Master. Allow me to ease your burden," continued Lucy, speaking in a formal tone, internally smirking at the sight of Laxus's red ears. She stood on her tippy toes and blew it, causing him to flinch. "Would you like to have dinner, a bath, or me?"
Laxus wondered what he did to deserve this lovely surprise. However, that was something that could wait until after he enjoyed his reward. Laxus was going to take full advantage of this in case Lucy made a mistake. He grabbed Lucy, carrying her in his arms bridal style as he gave her a perverted grin. "How about all 3?"
A few hours later
The two blondes were lying naked, with only a blanket covering up their nether regions. Laxus ran his fingers through Lucy's silky golden locks with one hand and stroked her lower back with the other, placing his chin over the top of her head.
Lucy was tucked against Laxus's side, putting her head on his chest with her ear pressed against his heart as she listened to the soothing sounds of his heartbeat. She drew circles on his chest with her finger and decided to pose a question to Laxus.
"Are you still going to buy the Virgo Star Dress after seeing the outfit in the flesh?" Lucy hid her smirk when she felt Laxus pause in his ministrations. She lifted her head to look at Laxus, whose cheeks were flushed red.
"S-So you saw?"
Lucy gave him a hum of approval and smiled.
"You didn't think it was weird or creepy?"
Lucy shook her no. "It was honestly kind of flattering, especially for the case of mementos." She shifted her position, so she was laying over his chest, chin on top and added, "Although, I would suggest putting a password that's not easy to guess." She teased with a grin, stealing a quick kiss.
Laxus let a low growl, flipping their positions so he was hovering over Lucy. "I'll fuck up anyone who tries to break into that room. It's my treasure! Just like you are," whispered Laxus, tracing his lips along Lucy's neck, adding more marks alongside the ones that were already there. "Sometimes, I still can't believe you're with me. I'm the luckiest man in the world," confessed Laxus, burying his face against her chest and hugging her waist. Lucy meant so much to him. If anything happened to her, Laxus would not know what to do with himself.
Lucy cupped Laxus's cheeks and brought it close to her face, giving him a deep and loving kiss. "And I'm the luckiest girl in the world to have someone as loving and supportive as you."
They resumed their cuddling, and as Lucy was about to fall asleep due to the warmth of Laxus's body, Laxus asked her something. "So I can continue adding to my collection, right, babe?"
"You can continue adding to OUR collection," replied Lucy, snuggling further into his arms. "I want to add some things of my own to the memory case. You are my treasure as well, Laxus so it's non-negotiable," she added before closing her eyes once more.
Laxus hugged her tighter and closed his eyes with a tiny smile on his face.
