To Ben, the sword and the writing were very suspicious.
"What would compel someone to leave a sword on this peak for anyone who will find in the future? There must be something bad inside this sword. Maybe a curse or something else." Ben said as he inspected the hilt of the sword and the stone.
Ben commanded A.I Chip to scan the sword, stone and the surrounding area. He needed to be very careful because it might be dangerous. But this was also a chance to obtain a sword for free.
This sword might be of good quality, so it would be a waste to leave it there. But even if it wasn't a good sword, he didn't have a issue with it as long as it wasn't dangerous. It's free, after all, so he wouldn't lose anything.
A.I Chip's scan of the sword had been completed and there was a problem with the sword. A demon wasn't sealed inside it and it wasn't cursed either like Ben assumed. Rather, there was magic attached to it that turned out to be the reason why not everyone was able to pull it out.
'Enchantment?' Ben asked in his mind.
[Yes, this sword has been enchanted by an unknown spell. I don't have any data on this spell, so I don't know it's name. But I can predict it's function which was to embed it in the ground.]
'Maybe it's a gravity spell that made the sword very heavy?' Ben asked.
[No, I would be able to tell if it was gravity.]
'Hmm, such a mysterious spell, but it's not dangerous, right?' Ben asked.
[No danger is detected. But maybe there's a danger I can't currently detect. This was a very old sword forged centuries ago, so we will need more data from that time period to be for certain.]
"This sucks. Knowledge of the past isn't easy to obtain in this age. Let's just pull the sword out. A man needs to have big guts and nuts." Ben said with a grin and cracked his neck.
Ben told Bella to get a far distance away and get ready to protect herself. This might be very dangerous or perhaps nothing will happen. But they need to keep their guard up.
After Bella was a safe distance away, Ben got ready to pull the sword out. He took a deep breath before placing his right hand on the red hilt. When Ben pulled on the sword, he can feel that the sword was fighting back.
"What the-? A.I Chip's right, this isn't a Gravity Spell making the sword heavy. It's like the sword is alive and resisting. It refused to leave it's spot, interesting." Ben said excitedly.
Ben exerted more strength to pull the sword out of the ground. But the sword fought back just as strong. It's like the sword was programmed to match the strength he used.
"Wait! Why did I become this stupid? There is a much easier way to do this." Ben stated in realization.
He released his grip and took a step back. Then he took his revolvers out and chose gravity bullets. He aimed his revolvers at the ground and fired at the ground around the sword.
"He he, let's see if you can stay there if the ground is destroyed." Ben smirked.
Ben kept firing as the ground was destroyed. After that, he put his revolvers away and used Gravity Magic to lift the rubble. As the rubble floated in the air, the sword also floated in the air.
Ben grinned because his plan worked perfectly. He grabbed the sword and released the Gravity Magic. The sword no longer fought back and was just a ordinary sword.
"Hah, easy." Ben said smugly while he played with the sword.
Ben played with the sword as he inspected it. It was a red long sword that was 1 meter long and the width was 5 cm while the hilt's length was 30 cm without an ornament.
The sword's design would've been plain if not for the red color. But even though it was plain, Ben knew it was a high quality sword. At the very least, he knew it was made from high-quality materials.
"I don't know what the materials are, but they must be high quality. Magic power can flow into the sword well and it even kept the enchantment for centuries without being weakened. It also isn't covered in rust." Ben said as he looked over the sword in great detail.
The sword also had good weight and balance. It wasn't too heavy or light for Ben. He wasn't a swordsman, but he could use them to an extent. So he was going to keep the sword for his use instead of selling it.
Ben then tested the sword out. He can handle it well despite having limited experience with swords. He then tried to cut the stone with writing on it and there was a clean cut.
"Damn, such a clean cut. This sword is incredible. Hmm, maybe it's time to change my primary weapon. They're no longer suitable for my current state." Ben said.
He was still curious about the sword's power, so he had his fire magic flow into it. The sword now has fire on it and Ben can control the fire a lot better than when he used the daggers even though they were made of mithril.
That means this sword's materials are better than mithril. That, or maybe the blacksmith's skill far exceeds Ben's, which was obvious. He isn't a professional blacksmith, so being able to make a pair of daggers and two guns is good enough for him.
"Let's see if you can do it because my daggers can't." Ben said as he pulled the sword to his back.
Ben got ready and then he swung the sword horizontally to the front. From his swing, a wide arc of fire appeared and flew in the air. He can generate his magic with the sword, something that his daggers couldn't replicate.
Ben was excited and he laughed happily. This means that he will have more options in a fight when he uses the sword. He can use the sword for short, medium or long-range battles, which is very flexible.
Ben decided that the sword would be his main weapon from now on. He rarely uses a weapon, but if it was necessary, this sword would be the best weapon to use. His backup weapons would be the revolvers and daggers.
He resumed the journey with Bella while still playing with his sword. Bella wanted one of the daggers because he wasn't going to use that often anymore, so he gave it to her. The dagger changed into a sword when Bella held it because it was rather long for her body size.
"Want me to teach you how to use it." Ben offered.
"No. Train alone." Bella replied.
"Alright, alright, you can train on your own. But you can always ask for advice once and a while." Ben said.
Bella nodded while looked at her new sword (dagger) happily. She decided to walk beside Ben now while swinging her sword like him. Then she suddenly took a pink ribbon out of her pocket and tied it on her new sword's hilt and scabbard.
Ben's face became dark and his mouth twitched after seeing it. But Bella is very happy right now, so he let it be and kept the pain in his heart. The dagger he made to look dangerous has become cute now.
'I'm glad that she didn't ask for both daggers otherwise my heart will really bleed.' Ben thought while holding his pained heart.
They resume their journey with Ben holding his tears back seeing his cool-looking dagger become a cute sword in Bella's cute hand.
