[Kenny]

Another day, his eyes crack open, vision slowly coming into focus. His room is dark, thanks to his blackout curtains. He fumbles for his phone, blinking at the bright screen. Notifications fill his screen, group chat messages, direct messages. He groans quietly and sets his phone back down. He puts his face back into the pillow and groans longer this time before rolling towards his phone and the floor. He scrubs his face with his hand as he sits up. He grabs his phone again and opens the top message.

Stan had sent an epic poem, most of the group told him it was good, there were a few other messages regarding the pages.
Bebe asked if he was OK and asked if he had spoken to Stan lately, Butters sent an invite for coffee at Tweek Bros, and Kyle of all people, sent a message saying he was just checking on his old friends.
He ignored the group chat, since he had nothing to add, replied to Bebe saying he'd been better and that no, he hadn't directly messaged Stan in a bit. He went for a piss before replying to Butters, asking when he wanted to. He wandered into the kitchen and made some cereal for breakfast, debating how to respond to Kyle. He finished his cereal and finally figured a response to his friend.

"I'm really meh dude. I mean you know, enough anyway, what it's like. I just dunno. How are you? How's college?"

He wanders around his place after washing the bowl and spoon from his breakfast. Waiting for responses. He wanders back to his room, and finds some clean light blue jeans and an old red Terrance and Philip t shirt.

By the time he's dressed for the day, complete with shoes and his usual orange hoodie, Butters has replied saying any afternoon, he's usually at Tweek Bros for work anyway. He shoots a quick text saying he'll pop by after work, a short-ish shift today.

He goes to Tweek Bros as usual, getting a frappe, offering Tweek a small smile but not trying to talk much to him. He doesn't feel very conversational, which means work is going to be a real chore today. He wonders if they'll let him do something easier than usual, probably not, he's rather good at his job, he gets requested and when that happens, he gets a decent bonus. He wonders if he can muster the energy necessary, he sips his frappe as he walks, deep in thought. His phone buzzes insistently, but he doesn't bother checking it, it's almost time for work. A short four hour shift, but still. Likely more effort than he can put forth.

Surprisingly, work flies, since it's a short day, he spends the four hours on mostly requested calls, the most draining day honestly, but the thought of the extra pay propels him through it.
He sends Butters a text, asking if he's still at Tweek Bros.

He digs a cigarette out of his jacket pocket and lights it, taking a few drags before starting the walk to the coffee shop. Regardless of whether Butters is there, he needs another frappe. While on break, he saw a video of a fancy flavor he's excited to try. He sent it to Tweek, asking if he could make him one, and it was a while before he answered, but he did so affirmatively.

He exhales smoke through his nose as he scrolls through his phone while he walks.
A quick enough walk, and the coffee shop is pretty dead, so much so that Tweek has his drink ready when he walks in. Kenny pays for his drink and takes it to the booth Butters is sitting in. He takes a long drink before saying anything to Butters, since he only glances up at the blond before returning his attention to the laptop screen.

Kenny is content to sit in silence and enjoy his frappe, he's mentally exhausted, he texts Kyle and Stan, learning that Stan is out in Denver, getting a new tattoo. Kyle replies that he's in class, but he does get it, he had to get his meds adjusted. He's slowly typing to Bebe when Butters closes his laptop and goes to get something to drink from Tweek.

He tells Bebe he's exhausted after work but he's going to chill with Butters at Tweek Bros for a little bit at least, they haven't actually spoken to each other despite sitting across from each other for a little while. She replies with a smiley face and he slides his phone back into his pocket as Butters slides back into the booth.

He takes a drink before starting a conversation.
"How are you?"

"Exhausted, you?" Kenny replies with a laugh.

"Same. Work is being ridicoulous. For no reason."

Butters sighs before elaborating, "We've been tasked with a focus on Bebe's new stuff, which is great, you know. New content that matters, but there's only so much I'm allowed to say, I have to be unbiased. And it's like they think since she and I are friends, she doesn't charge for interviews. Honestly, it's idiotic."

"Really? Dude, you've literally worked there how long and even done stuff regarding her work before?"

"I know," he sighs again, taking another drink.

"That's life though, isn't it?" Kenny laughs humorlessly, staring at the table, tapping his fingers.

A bitter smile graces Butters' lips as he offers his drink in a 'cheers' gesture, before he takes another drink.

They sit in a comfortable silence after that, the shop fills again, as it does, and they turn their attention to their phones. Kenny returns texts, looking at Stan's new tattoo which he sent to the group chat. Speaking of, he wonders if body mods will stay after he dies. Addictions don't... Well, a new question for Damien.

Kenny says his farewell to Butters and waves to Tweek, returning to his apartment. He takes a quick shower before making an easy dinner of frozen chimichangas. He sits on the couch and turns on his game console, turning it to reruns of a show.
He finishes his food and stretches out on the couch, contemplating what body mods he would get if they'll stay, as otherwise, they would just be wastes.
