…that is, until it was hit by a beam of neon-colored light, throwing it back.
"What?! How-?" Fujin exclaimed as he turned to the source of the beam, which was…Mr. Neon!
"Neon glow sticks." Mr. Neon smirked, holding a glow stick in his left hand, while his right sparked with light. "I never go to a meeting without them."
Nate Peterson, aka, Mr. Neon
Quirk: Neon (Accumulation Type)
He can absorb the energy from neon lights and use it to create energy blasts or all shapes and sizes!
"Hold on, Neon, your Quirk…my god, I think you actually hurt that thing!" Banker marveled.
"Not for long." Mr. Neon said. "Hey, Slenderman. Can you get that prison thing up to the surface with that teleporting trick of yours? Along with the rest of these guys?"
"Uh-huh, uh-huh, I think so." Ender nodded.
"Neat. Then…do it." Neon said. "Get these guys outta here."
"Wait, Neon…what about you?" Shia-Kazing asked.
"What do you think? I'm gonna buy you some time." Neon said, looking to where the Darkness Devil was getting up. "If this freak wants to kill me, it's gonna have to work for it."
"Neon, you-" Banker started.
"Don't get sentimental, Banker. I'm not doing this so you can win." Neon said. "I'm doing it so Malcolm will lose. Get up there, and get that sonova bitch."
"Right! Everybody, grab onto the prison!" Ender said, as the group put their hands on the fleshy octahedron.
"Boss…give that Devil a fight it'll remember." Maximum said.
And so, Ender teleported the prison away, as Neon faced the Primal Devil.
"Okay, freak…just you and me now." Neon said as he put his hands out to his sides. "See…this whole town is my turf. This ain't your house! It's mine! And you know what they say!"
The neon lights around the room flickered as the energy from them flowed into Mr. Neon.
"The house. Always. Wins."
And so, Mr. Neon charged the Darkness Devil as it manifested a sword of darkness.
"God damn it…those idiots didn't help me at all." Zoro groaned as he continued to walk through the streets of Vegas. "All these buildings look the freaking same." he said before seeing a car speeding towards him, the one driving it being Midas. The crime boss noticed the swordsman and slowed down.
"Oh, 'scuse me, swordsman." Midas said. "Say…you're one of those tournament competitors, aren't you? Don't suppose you could tell me where they're showing it to the audience?"
Zoro was quiet for a moment. "Sure. Just answer me one thing…why does it smell like you just fired off a gun at someone?" Zoro asked. "And don't bother lying. I can smell gunpowder from your car."
"Oh, that? Well, there's a really dangerous Devil in this city. Calls itself the Darkness Devil. Ran into it, and I shot at it. Don't think it did anything to hurt it, though." Midas said. "If I were you, I'd try and stay in the light."
"That so? Fine, get out of the car. This devil thing sounds fun. Take me to it." Zoro said.
Midas was silent for a moment, before he smiled. "Sure thing, buddy. It's not too far from here." he said, stepping out of the car. "Follow me."
As Zoro followed Midas, he quietly smirked to himself.
A car with a trailer hooked on the back pulled up to the front of the Neon Museum, with two members of The Neo-Neons in the back. Out from the building, several Gold Finger members walked out and approached the car.
"Hey, we'll take it from here." One of the gold-suited grunts said.
"Huh? Where's Banker?" the NN member in the driver's seat asked.
"He's busy. Get out of the car." the Gold Finger repeated.
"No, we gotta wait for the boss." the driver insisted.
The Gold Fingers then pulled out golden guns and pointed them at the NN members. "I said-" the lead GF said, before an anvil landed on his head, knocking him out.
"What the-?!" another Gold Finger turned, only to be run through by Maera, while the rest were blown away by Fujin.
"What the hell is…?" the driver started to ask.
"Drive!" The Banker yelled as he and the other gang members raced into the car, Admiral Bill lifting the Flesh Prison and putting it on the trailer.
"Wait, where's our boss? And Laissez Faire?" the NN riding shotgun asked.
"They ain't…they ain't coming." Maximum said.
"We'll explain on the way! We have to get into the desert!" Shia-Kazing said.
And so, with everyone in the car, the driver slammed on the gas and drove, heading towards the desert.
In the middle of the desert, a certain trio had followed a set of hidden directions as they found themselves sneaking into a large underground lab.
"Whoa! This place is awesome!" Theo said.
"Why am I reminded of that Ruin Guard factory back in Liyue?" Aether pondered.
"Let's focus. We need to save Esmeralda and Glacius." Ethox said as the three were dressed in black. "Hope those guys don't mind us borrowing their outfits for a bit."
"Yeah…makes sneaking easier." Theo said as he approached a man. "Excuse me. We've been asked by the boss to see the two beast girls."
"Huh? Oh…you must be the team that'll bring them back. Yeah. Their memory wipe should be almost finished." he said.
"Uh…memory wipe?" Ethox asked.
"Standard protocol. Everything from now to up til they met the boss will be wiped forever. Whether it involved him or not." the guy said.
"The boss… you mean Thomas? Why would he want to wipe their memories?" Ethox said.
"To make sure he and his research stays secret, duh." the man said.
"(He's that paranoid? Wait…if everything gets deleted then…)" Theo thought, thinking back to the Olympics and the times they spent. "(They won't…remember any of us!)" he realized.
"Where is the room again?" Ethox asked.
"Oh, it's right down the hall. You all make yourselves comfortable, and we'll bring 'em out for you." the guy assured them as he walked away.
"Thanks for the tip." Theo said as the three hurried down the hall to an unmarked room.
However, upon opening, they were greeted to a cold steel room where the two were strapped to tables as strange devices were on their heads.
"Es! Glac!" Theo said as he ran to the console. "Damn…looks like it's almost done. We need to stop this."
"No you will not!" a voice said as the three turned around. They looked on to see a small child standing there. "You cannot stop this."
"A child?" Aether blinked before shaking his head. "Give us one reason why."
"Because…I do not need them remembering our dealings or the fact they believed that Theodore was their true employer." he said.
"But if you erase all of that, you'll also be making them forget everything they did with us!" Ethox said.
"So what?" he asked plainly. "That does not affect my work in the least."
"They're our friends! If you wipe all their memories, they won't remember us! C'mon, haven't you ever wanted friends in your life!?" Ethox asked.
"Friends…that serves no purpose to my research or anything. Your words…will not change my mind." he said.
"...Okay then." Ethox nodded as, in the span of a second, he dashed behind the child and grabbed them in a necklock, pointing his Keyblade at his chest. "Let them go, and I let you go. Don't, and this goes into your chest. Simple as that."
"Ah…I see. Well…let me make it simple for you as well." he said as he went and thrusted his chest into the blade as he coughed up blood.
"What the-?! Are you insane?!" Ethox said. "I-I-I didn't-!"
Ethox in the haste dropped the boy as he bled on the floor.
"Wait…something doesn't feel right? If his research is important…why go and end it like…" Theo pondered as he saw the blood was pulling back into the boy as the wound healed. "Ethox!" he called out as the child scientist went and landed a strike to Ethox's stomach.
"What? But…how did…." Ethox said.
"Cause that is his research. Or one of them anyway. One of your projects is…in immortality, isn't it?" Theo asked.
The boy simply smirked. "You're the first one to figure that out. Yes. I'm the first human in history to achieve immortality through scientific means. Although a side effect is that my body has stopped aging, I can live with that as I cannot be killed."
"Well, I-I'm glad I didn't kill you, but…" Ethox said. "Please, tell us you'll just be erasing Esmerelda and Glacius' memories of anything related to you. It can't be anything else."
"I must be thorough. I can't risk them leaking anything about me or what I've had them do while posing as Theodore." Thomas explained.
"No… we can't let them forget us! Bro, Aether, we gotta do something!" Ethox said.
"I don't know what we can do. This guy literally can't die and he'll probably call security if we try and force this all to stop." Theo said.
"So we just… let them both forget all about us? We can't!" Ethox said. "They're our friends! We've made so many memories together! We can't just let them all be wiped away!"
"You don't have a choice. It's only a matter of minutes before the process is complete. And once it's done…my research will remain safe once more." Thomas said.
"Why…Why do you have to be such a jerk?!" Ethox shouted. "I mean, why do you have to erase everything?! I mean, it's not like they'd…"
"Oh…that reminds me…I'll need to deal with you three too since you also know what my work is." Thomas said as he pulled out a weapon.
"Look…we won't tell anyone about your secret lab." Theo said.
"I don't believe that. Two or three of your friends are the biggest blabbermouths in the entire multiverse." Thomas said.
"Then…what if we didn't tell them?" Ethox asked.
"Yeah. We won't tell a single soul we were ever here." Theo said.
"I'm not from the Color-Verse, so there's no point for me remembering all of this. After all, I have my own mission to complete back in the Xross-Verse." Aether added.
"Hmm…I suppose I can accept that. But…I want a sample of his blood." Thomas said, pointing to Aether. "It's not everyday you examine samples from alternate realities and so forth."
"Huh? Why?" Aether questioned.
"Don't question it. Just do it." Theo whispered.
Aether looked at Theo and Ethox for an answer. "Well?"
"Just give him the damn sample!" both brothers said.
Aether sighed, summoning his sword. "Guess I have no choice." He reluctantly cut a small wound on his finger.
"Uh… I was just going to use a syringe but your way works too I suppose." Thomas said as he went and extracted the blood. "Honestly, not sure why you three bothered to infiltrate. We were planning to dump them off near the audience before the tournament even ended."
"We were worried about our teammates. Esmerelda and Glacius are really important to us… and they share a really strong connection to a friend of ours." Ethox said.
"But if you're not going to kill them, then I guess we can let it slide." Aether added.
"I'm a scientist and researcher…not a senseless murderer." Thomas said.
"So… once the process is done, they won't remember anything about us?" Theo asked.
"Yes. Anything from before I made first contact with them will be gone." Thomas said.
"Then is it okay if we make new memories for them from scratch?" Aether asked.
"You can do whatever you wish with them after I'm done. I'm already getting what I want out of this." Thomas said as the machines dinged. "All done. Please leave with them. Their sedatives will wear off after a couple of hours."
Once Esmerelda and Glacius were out of the machines, Theo and Ethox carried them away as they left the lab, promising that they wouldn't reveal Thomas to the world.
"Thank god he was reasonable." Theo said.
"Still, an immortal born from science and not magic… mind blown." Ethox said.
"I can understand why he'd keep it secret. I don't think any world out there is ready for something like this." Theo said.
"So, once these two wake up, they'll have no memories of us. He said everything up till before he made first contact with them will be gone. Which means… they won't remember competing in Tokyo, the mission to kill David, or…even Reformed Society." Ethox said.
"While the memories are gone…the experiences can't be as easily forgotten." Theo said. "They may not know anyone but…doesn't mean they'll hate us. Rest and return to us anew, brave beasts."
The underground room was in shambles, the numerous neon lights flickering as Mr. Neon stood in the center of the room, out of breath and bleeding profusely, as he stood against the Darkness Devil.
"Well? You gonna come over here and kill me, or what?" Neon challenged the Devil. "C'mon, I'm running on fumes here, freak! I ain't got much left. C'mon, do it!"
The Darkness Devil didn't move forward, didn't approach. Instead, it conjured another sword and pointed it at the crime boss.
"What, is that it? C'mon, are you…" Mr. Neon started before he stopped. "...Heh. Hehehehe…hahahaha! That's it, isn't it? You're scared of me, aren't ya? Aren't ya?!"
The Primal Devil said nothing as the bells on the sword's hilt began to ring.
"Well…if you're scared now…then just you watch." Mr. Neon grinned as the lights around the room began to dim as the energy flowed into his body, his eyes and mouth beginning to glow. "I can't kill you, freak…but I sure as hell can make you hurt!"
The Devil then threw the sword into Mr. Neon's chest, causing him to cough up glowing blood, and hemorrhage violently. Even still, his body did not give out, glowing bright enough to light up the whole room.
"You scared, you demon?! Huh?! You effing scared?!" Neon yelled.
…YES.
"...Good." Neon smiled as his body reached its critical point. "Midas! I'll see you in Hell, you mother-!"
Mr. Neon's body then exploded in a flash of light so powerful, it breached the layers of Earth to create a pillar of light that shot up from the roof of the Neon Museum's lobby.
"Whoa! What's that?!" Eddy asked, as one of the tournament cameras managed to catch the beam.
"I don't know, but it's cool!" ZS said. "Maybe one of our guard duty guys is having some fun."
Theo, Ethox, and Aether's group…
"...That can't be good." Ethox said, the three of them noticed the beam.
"What in the name of the Archons?" Aether asked in surprise.
"I got a bad feeling. We should pick up the pace." Theo said as they hurried.
As Ender and his group were driving away, they saw the pillar of light shoot out into the late night sky.
"Oooohhhh…" Ender said, looking at the beam.
Banker poked his head out of the window, seeing the beam as he sighed. "You were an asshole, Neon…but damn, you had yourself a hell of an exit." he said. "...We'll take it from here."
However, it was also around this same time, a new battle was blooming in the Bellagio Conservatory as Teams Capricorn, Pisces and Sagittarius were about to meet in a large clash.
"So, we're really gonna be fighting here to see who takes on Ace, Zoro and that Umbra Guy?" Gobta asked, noting the natural surroundings of the Conservatory and botanical gardens.
"That's the idea, but honestly we could've picked a better place." Legolia sighed. "It's gonna suck seeing this place get destroyed."
"Yeah, especially with what happened at the Luxor. Guess who ended up getting stuck with the bill." David said before raising his hand.
"Ouch…" Gobta said. "That's gonna end up being a huge dent in your wallet."
"That's putting it mildly. As a gamer… It only made it hurt even more." David said.
"Well it can't be helped." Gunvolt shrugged. "Though I blew up buildings too, the ones from Sumeragi."
"Yeah, well, you never had to pay for damages." Mark said. "And I'd look on the bright side if I were you, David. It's only one building for you; me and Simon's fight caused…quite a bit of damage in Fremont Street."
"You think that's bad?" a voice asked as Catra and the rest of Team Capricorn appeared in the conservatory. "Natsu melted the entire Excalibur hotel. We would've been dead if we hadn't gotten out of there before the whole thing came down on top of us."
"If you're planning to go after Cure Starlight, you're too late. She's eliminated." Joule said from Gunvolt's pendant.
"Which means that whoever's left after this has to contend with Zoro, Ace and Umbra to win." Kendo said. "We figured Zoro would be safe from elimination because of his sense of direction."
"So depending on the outcome of this match, he'll either surrender because he doesn't want to fight Luffy, or fight who's left here single handedly." Legolia surmised.
"Guess it can go either way." Gunvolt said. "I also realized that I'm the only Rebellion member left standing. But…" His body began to generate azure electro. "I'm not going down that easily. That, and I still have another ace in the hole."
"Gonna enjoy seeing that." Mark said, cracking his knuckles. "Hope you'll all enjoy the ace I'm bringing too."
"Make that three." Catra smirked. "We've got one too."
"So are we gonna stand here and chat all day?" Legolia asked as everyone got into fighting position. "Or are we going to fight?"
"I don't need an invitation." David said, getting Ebony and Ivory ready. "Let's get this party started!"
Without wasting a second, Gunvolt bolted towards Catra and began his attack with an electro punch followed by launching a Dragonsphere.
Catra immediately avoided it using her speed as she evaded Gunvolt's barrage, staying on the move.
"Any reason why you're gunning for me first?!" Catra asked.
"Call it a luck of the draw. No hard feelings!" Gunvolt replied while unleashing a storm of Crashbolts.
"None taken, but I'd rather not get shocked into next week!" Catra said as she took the high ground and leaped to avoid a Crashbolt and tackled GV to the ground.
"...Big mistake." Gunvolt smirked, unleashing his Flashfield that electrocuted Catra. She was sent flying back and thankfully landed in a field of flowers in the garden, shocked, but otherwise still conscious enough to fight. "Feeling paralyzed yet?"
"Ugh… that's nothing. You should've seen how many times Adora and I got shocked by a stun baton when we were punished growing up in the Fright zone." Catra groaned, getting up.
"Funny, I also got tortured by a Sumeragi officer before. His biggest mistake is using an electric whip on me." Gunvolt said. "Guess how that went?"
"You ended up getting your electrical skills from that?" Catra guessed.
"Actually, I was born in a lab." Gunvolt replied. "He just gave me a recharge."
"Huh. You and Dark Water have something in common." Catra said.
"He was also born in a lab, huh?" Gunvolt guessed.
"Yeah, but he honestly was never that torn up about it!" Mark chimed in as he was punching Kendo in the face. "If it wasn't for ol' Theodore Flux getting the whole lab arrested and taken over, he'd probably be real close with everyone involved!"
"I see." Gunvolt noted. "I was a lab rat used by Sumeragi, until Asimov busted me out and took me in as an agent of QUILL. He taught me how to use my powers as an Azure Striker. I remember that one conversation I shouted back in Bayonetta's world when we were trying to convince Spade to come back to us."
"Cool story, you might wanna share it later." Catra said as she recovered enough to get back in the fight.
"Let's see how long you can last without me using my ace." Gunvolt said, summoning an azure electro sphere and launching it above the area, causing an electro field with the sphere shooting out lightning arcs. "Lisa Mincci taught me this, so try not to let your fur stand too much."
"Thanks for the warning." Catra said.
"Your move." Gunvolt taunted with a hand gesture, asking her to come at him.
Catra smirked, and with no fear, rushed in for Round 2 against Gunvolt.
Meanwhile, Kendo was on the defensive against Mark, trying to avoid his devastating attacks.
"I'm not really the best match for Mark because he's so strong…" Kendo said. "Hey, is anyone capable of switching opponents with me? I could use a hand!"
Kendo kept jumping back as Mimikyu waited above her as it pounced down on both her and Mark as its disguise bulged.
"Great. Now what…" Kendo said as a shining pair of eyes looked at both her and Mark.
"Heh…you aren't that scary." Mark smiled.
Mimikyu's disguise bulged and twisted as fighting could be heard inside it. However, the one that was beat up was Mimikyu as it collapsed right on the ground and released the two, Mark now in his Six-Armed Form.
"Gotta say, the fact that it took going into Six-Armed Form to win…that's pretty cool." Mark smiled with a two finger salute.
"Oooh, Mimikyu got too greedy! Whatevers under its disguise was no match for pure angelic guts!" Magenta said.
"You doing okay, Kendo? I know a lot of people get scared out of their minds once Mimikyu lets others see whatvers under it…" Mark said.
"Yeah, I think so…" Kendo said, shivering. "So frightening. Thought I was gonna die."
"Yeah, there are some things that just cannot be unseen…" David said.
"Hahaha! Now you guys are going down!" a voice laughed as Natsu stood on top. "Now…let's make this…an awesomer fighting place!" he said as he set the garden right on fire.
"Natsu, you idiot!" Catra said.
"This is twice now!" Dan said.
"Oh man, Perfuma, Bernie, and Fluttershy are gonna kill him." Mark said.
"If Shiozaki and Poison Ivy don't first. Geez, why did the selection have to choose him?" David asked.
"Well, it was completely random, and we all decided the more people we had in the tournament, the better our odds." Kendo said.
"Not the point, Kendo. We gotta stop this before this whole place turns into a bomb!" David said.
"You're right David. Natsu probably doesn't know, but suffocating in a burning garden due to a lack of oxygen will definitely kill us. Let's take him down, and then put out the fires." Kendo recommended.
"I guess I can now add firefighter to my resume." David said as he tightened his gloves.
Kendo and David rushed Natsu together as they took him on two on one.
"Nothing personal Natsu, but you're becoming a dangerous threat to us and your own teammates! That's why you have to go, right now!" Kendo said as she and Natsu exchanged blows.
"Fire Dragon King's….Demolition Fist!" Natsu said, landing a punch on Kendo and sending her flying out of the arena.
"And there goes Kendo! Team Pisces has lost their first member since the tournament started!" Magenta said.
"Honestly, we should have seen that coming." Bakugo said.
"It was going to happen sooner or later." David said.
"And where is Luffy in all this?" Dan said as they all felt the arena shake as the top was pulled off as a giant hand grabbed Natsu and Mark.
"I got you!" Luffy said now in Gear 5.
"Holy-!" Catra said as her eyes bugged out.
"Surprised? We would've been." David said.
"Well Dragneel, are you fired up now?" Mark asked flatly.
"Yeah…we're gonna take you out, you big ol…" Natsu said as he and Mark were tossed into the air.
"Ahahahahaa!" Luffy laughed as he started pummeling Natsu. His fists making parts of the Dragon Slayer stretch as they made contact.
"Man, cartoon physics is a crazy power…" Mark shook his head, having started flying. "Well, now's a good a time as any!" he said, powering up for a few seconds before he entered his Mantra Form. "Hey, Luffy! You wanna show us how powerful that Gear really is?"
The half-angel charged the Straw Hat just as he landed a heavy blow on Natsu, the pirate laughing as he sent the Dragon Slayer flying. "And…muscle!" he said, making himself more muscular as he matched the angel blow for blow.
"Yeaaaaah… we can just let those two go at it." Catra said.
"Yeah…cause we're gonna blow you Capricorn lackeys outta here." Bakugo said.
Dan smiled as he went to his bracelet just as Gobta and Legolia were about to ambush him.
"Emblem…Engage!" he called out as he became a dragon and sent the two flying away.
"Incredible! Dan just turned into a dragon and wiped out the rest of Team Sagittarius!" Magenta said.
"Heh…so he's finally showing his hand." Bakugo said.
"I was wondering when you and Tiki would finally link up." Catra said.
"Hahahaha!" Bakugo laughed as he went and starting fighting against the draconic Dan. "We're gonna…take you down, dragon boy!" he said as David was behind him.
"I hope you're ready for a showdown with some bite! Freeze Lancer!" David said as he fired crystals at Dan.
"Rar!" Dan roared as he swatted the crystals away with his claws.
"Well, didn't expect that to do much anyway." David said as he noticed something as the fires started dissipating. "Wait a second… They're putting out Natsu's flames. Okay, maybe I can work with this."
"Yeah but we gotta take out this dumb dragon!" Bakugo said as he was hit by the dragons' tail. "Little bastard…"
"Oh, I hope I know what I am doing with this." David said as he entered Sapphire God's Second State.
"Let's go." Bakugo said as Dan roared at the two fighters.
Catra watched as Mark and Luffy continued their godly clash, and Dan fought in dragon form against Bakugo and David. She was still fighting Gunvolt herself, as she was avoiding his electric attacks. Even though she was the outlier in the fight with no other special abilities to speak of, she still had to do her part in keeping Gunvolt busy for as long as possible.
"GV, I think this is taking a bit too long. You need to end this now." Joule advised.
"Yeah, time to send her packing." Gunvolt agreed before summoning numerous chains from below as they home in on Catra.
"If I get caught up in that, it's all over…" Catra said as she got moving and ran away from the chains, each one chasing her. However, she failed to notice a few chains in the front and was eventually caught by the legs. "Ah, great. Well, I got this far at least."
"You know…" Gunvolt stopped summoning the chains and approached Catra. "I was going to use another technique to send you flying, but if you chose to surrender, I won't do that to you. So, I guess that's it?"
"Yeah, I'd rather not get shocked out of my fur, if that's alright. You got me, and that's enough, right?" Catra said.
"Mm." Gunvolt smiled and nodded, offering a hand after releasing the chains that bound Catra, allowing her to accept the handshake with a smile.
"And Catra has surrendered! " Magenta said.
"So… are you gonna jump into all of that?" Catra asked, referring to the clashes between Dan, David and Bakugo, as well as the massive battle between Mantra Mark and Gear 5 Luffy.
"Wait, where's Natsu?" Gunvolt asked while looking around.
"Last I saw him, Luffy pummeled him into the ground senseless. Don't think he's getting up from that." Catra said.
"I guess that counts as an elimination. At least we won't have to worry about any fires in the garden." Joule noted. "Also… Natsu's going to be in deep trouble after the tournament considering the damages he's done."
"Well, at least I know who I'm going after next." Gunvolt decided as he turned his attention on Dan. "Time to give those two a hand." He walked towards his target and gave a two-finger salute to Catra. "Wish me luck."
"And have a safe trip back!" Joule added.
Catra smiled as she made her way back to the stands, having some sense of accomplishment.
"So it looks like you're about to fight a Divine Dragon, though if I remember something about those Emblem Bracelets, it has a time limit when in Engage form." Joule said.
"Meaning Dan can't take too long in that form." Gunvolt deduced. "If that's the case, let's make sure he doesn't get the chance to fight back!" Afterwards, he bolted towards his next target; Dan Kuso.
"Dang it…will you go down already!" Bakugo called out as he peppered the dragon with explosions.
"Rar!" Dan roared as he blocked them with his wings.
"Damn it…how long?" Bakugo asked.
"The Engage lasts up to 15 minutes. It's only been about 5 since he turned." David said.
"We're not gonna last another 10 if he keeps this up!" Bakugo said.
"Then we'll just have to make use of the time we do have left. He can't keep this up forever." David said.
And just from out of nowhere, chains started to appear around Dan and ensnared him before being electrocuted. "Mind if I cut in?!" Gunvolt shouted.
"Finally, the robot's done playing with the cat." Bakugo said.
"Hey, I'm an adept, not a robot!" Gunvolt corrected.
"Not the time, you two." David chided.
Dan roared as he struggled against the chains as he was slowly breaking his way to freedom.
"GV, those chains won't be able to hold him for long!" Joule warned.
"Then I'll have to go with another tactic." Gunvolt replied, raising his electro hand and summoned a blue electro sphere as the broken chains began to fly into the sphere. Not just the chains, anything metal also came flying into the sphere. "David, Bakugo, hold him down for a while longer!"
"Don't worry, we can't do much else right now." David said.
"Yeah…let's slay this damn dragon already." Bakugo said.
Both of them rushed the draconic Dan as they continued to battle him until managing to pin him down to the ground.
"He's safely pinned!" David called out.
"Take him out! Now!" Bakugo called out.
"With pleasure." Gunvolt complied as the electro sphere generated enough energy, basically turning it into an electro Spirit Bomb. "Oversurge, Azure Striker! VOLTAIC CHAIN METEOR!" And with one thrust of his hand, he launched the massive electro meteor onto Dan, forcefully sending him flying out of the Garden and into the night sky before it detonated into a large electro explosion. The attack however, also caused Gunvolt to feel tired as he tried to catch his breath. "I really… need to get used… to using that…" He panted.
"And this isn't the first time you used it either." Joule said.
They all watched as Dan flew down to them as he rose high. However, his form reverted to normal as he fell to his knees and fell unconscious.
"And Dan Kuso is down! Meaning Team Capricorn…is defeated!" Magenta announced.
"Whew… That took some doing." David said as he reverted to normal.
"Now all we gotta do…is wait for that half angel to go falling." Bakugo said, looking up to the fight going on above them.
"So this is Luffy's true power, huh?" Gunvolt observed. "Gear 5…"
Back up above, Luffy and Mark continued to fight it out with Luffy laughing all the way as they continued. Even a short exchange where Luffy punched Mark a few times in the head as stars and birds could be seen flying around him.
The half-angel shook his head to recover from the dizziness, before grabbing Luffy by the stomach, spinning around, and throwing him to the street below, before diving after him and slamming feet first into the pirate, making a crater where they landed and throwing up a cloud of dust that blocked Mark's vision.
When the dust cleared however, to his surprise, the pirate was gone in a hole shaped like him.
"Son of a…alright, where'd he…?" Mark said, attempting to get a read on Luffy's energy…only for the worst possible result to be confirmed. "Oh crud-!"
Luffy's head soon emerged as the size of a giant's as Mark jumped back to avoid being bitten down on. "Hahahahaha! Now…Gum Gum…" he said, plunging his fist right through the ground before coming out the side and striking Mark. "Mole Pistol!"
Mark did his best to block the strike, but the force was enough to send him sliding straight back into the Mirage. "Damn…second tournament I get close to winning, but ultimately fall short of…this better not be my thing." he remarked as he, steeling himself, blasted back out towards Luffy, prepared to give all he had in a final attack.
"Wrath of Jehovah: Sodom & Gomorrah!" he yelled as, from the halo on his back, six arms sprouted, all of them charging Ki Blasts.
"Gum Gum…" Luffy said as he jumped up to an archway as it stretched. He fashioned his hair into a pair of goggles before swinging back with an arm stretched out behind him.
Mark launched the blasts from every single arm he had, the beams resembling a rain of fire as they all converged on Luffy's position.
However, as Luffy launched himself, he smiled as his arm went and rocketed right towards Mark's stomach, making a hit as it stretched out with the hit. "Dawn Rocket!"
Once Gum Gum Dawn Rocket hit its target, Mark felt like he got hit by Beerus, or at the very least, Goku with Super Saiyan Blue and Kaioken x10 mixed together. Unfortunately, it was just too much for him as he felt his consciousness slipping.
Luffy just laughed as he was pelted by all of the ki blasts, coming out all blackened and charred before he shook himself and came out normal.
"Wow." Mermista said.
"Wow…that was so fun. It was…super…good…" Luffy said as it looked like he was looking ragged as the white color faded. "Oh…guess…I…overdid…it." he said looking very exhausted.
"Yes…me too." Mark heaved. "Still…guess a double KO…isn't anything to sneeze at. Glad I…got to give…my best shot against you…" he said before passing out completely.
"And Luffy has knocked out Mark Anarchy! Team Sagittarius is eliminated!" Magenta said. "But Luffy might be close to passing out himself! Team Pisces could be down to 3!"
"No…I…refuse!" Luffy said as he propped himself against a street lamp. "I…can still keep going!"
"You..are way too stubborn sometimes." David said as the rest of the team arrived. "Here. I had a feeling something like this might happen." he said, tossing the pirate some meat.
"Meat!" Luffy said as he went and bit right into it.
"...I'm not even going to question where you got that." Gunvolt sweatdropped. "Still, glad we made it this far."
"We lost Kendo. But based on who is left, it won't be much longer now." David said.
"Then we might have a shot at winning this tournament after all." Joule commented.
"You know, Bakugo… For a walking firecracker, you're alright in my book." David said.
"And you're fine for being a useless popsicle." Bakugo said.
"Eh, best I'm gonna get." David said as the group shared a laugh..
"Heh." Gunvolt chuckled. "C'mon, guys. Let's get out of here." Afterwards, the team left the garden.
4 members of team Pisces remain. Ace and Umbra remain for Team Cancer. And Zoro is the Sole Survivor for Team Libra. Only time will tell how the Warzone Tournament will end.
Soon, the Prime Soul group managed to reach the desert, the city a soft glow behind them.
"What do we hope to accomplish by being here?" Fujin asked.
"Well, we've put some distance between us and Midas. For all he knows, we're dead." Slick said. "That gives us an advantage, at least. He'll call his 'friend' to deal with the alliance."
"We have to hurry and break the Prime Soul out!" Ender said. "If we don't, the Hero Alliance will be captured and sold to those…big jerks in Eostia!"
"I'm…not sure we can, Ender." Maera admitted. "If your reality warping abilities couldn't do it, then what could any of us do? You're the best chance we have to open this."
"But I already tried! I couldn't open it, that's why I sent it up here in the first place!" The Enderman said. "I can't…"
He stopped in his tracks.
"Ender?" the robot asked.
"I can't…but maybe he can." The Color Fighter said as he leaned against the Flesh Prison. "I know…I know you can hear me in there. I know it's hard to get out, but…my friends are in trouble. They're going to be trapped by a Primal Devil. If the guy working with it wins, they'll be…" he said, starting to choke up. "...They'll be sold off to…really bad guys. I don't want my friends to be hurt. I don't want those bad guys to win. So please…help us!" he pleaded to the prison.
For a moment, all was still, save for the ambience of the Nevada desert nighttime.
"...Wow, did you actually think that would-?" Fujin started to say.
He was interrupted by a pounding sound, one that caused the group to jump.
"Was that…?" The Banker asked.
"Look! The prison!" Shia-Kazing pointed to the octadecahedron.
There was a large crack in it. Another pounding sound caused the crack to grow bigger.
A third. A fourth.
Then, with one last pound, the prisoner…was freed.
The group was blasted back by the force, Ender rolling on the ground a bit before stopping. Picking himself up, he looked towards the prison to see a man kneeling in the desert sand.
They were a tall, luminescent humanoid, his translucent body giving a clear view of his circulatory system, which seemed to be the only organs present. There was a hole where his face should have been, and he wore a large crown. Around both of his arms, twin serpents were coiled around. The man radiated power, but also…a warm, reassuring, almost fatherly air.
"Ahh…free, at last." the man said, standing up, taking a look around. "I see…I have been returned to the mortal world. It is just as beautiful as the day I left."
The man turned to look at Ender, who stared at the Prime Soul. "H-Hi." he said softly.
The man approached Ender, before putting an arm to his chest and bowing. "Child of The End…my gratitude upon thee for my freedom. Though thine body is not human…thy heart and will to save have allowed me to break free of my own chains."
"Y-Yeah. You're welcome." Ender said. "So…does that mean…?"
"If thou art in need of my aid…then you shall have it." the man said. "I swear this upon my name. The name of Minos."
"...Thank you!" Ender cheered, hugging the Prime Soul. "Everyone, get up! We have to get back to the city, and to where the audience is!"
"That would be the MGM Grand Arena." Fujin said. "If we hurry, we can still make it before JP's closing speech. That will more than likely be when Midas will strike."
"Then there's no time to waste!" Ender said, teleporting on top of the car and pointing towards the city. "Full steam ahead!"
With that, the group, now including Minos Prime, put the pedal to the metal and headed back towards Vegas, and their final confrontation.
