Loki's story the 1st: The Frost Giant Child
In this story once I add the symbols we will switch to Loki's POV. This is the story of his interaction with a frost giant child who thought she was a human. She is young and was recently told by her parents that she's adopted, like loki was.
I decided to go on a walk through the multicultural area. This area is one of protection for all races. Any and all discrimination is punished with being forced to leave and be banned from the place of such beauty. Because of this you see many mixed race couples, and parents with different species. There are also people who will enchant you to look different but there is an age requirement, unless you are making an adopted child look more like the birth parents. It is a beautiful place, and wonderful to be around and walk in. I love it and it has areas for all races. It truly is the perfect place for all people, provided you aren't a racist dick.
As I'm walking I thought I heard crying, but I thought I must be mistaken, because I was taking on of the private trails, and plus why and how could you be upset here? This place is funded by lots of people in the hopes of equality, so everything and everyone is polite and food and houses are cheaper than anywhere else. Thats another reason to want to live here.
I decided to go closer to the sound, because I was so interested in finding out the origin of the crying, because the only real reason to cry here is if you hurt yourself. I wanted to find the being that was crying and help it through the pain it was feeling.
As I was about to give up my search, I saw a little blue lump. I thought it was a large mushroom at first. As I got closer however I heard sniffling coming from it. I went and asked "Hello? Who are you?"
The lump raised what I now knew as its head, and it was a little frost giant girl! I know Frost Giants are supposed to be big, but this girl looked to be around 6 years of age, and poor thing was so small she must have been kicked out! She responded "I'm Zullier" in the saddest tone I thought was imaginable.
"Its nice to meet you Zullier, would you like any fun magic tricks to cheer you up?" I wanted to have her trust me before I asked her about why she was crying. "Ooh yes please! The only magic I get to see is when mommy or daddy cover my eyes and there's presents everywhere!" She replied excited to see more magic. "What kind of magic do you do?" She asked curious. "I specialize in illusions. What do you want to see?" She thought for a moment before replying
"Can I see me with my family?" It seemed as though she really loved her family. "Ok dear, I have to touch your head to see what they look like ok?" I asked, because some people have very strict rules about touching them or their belongings. "Ok!" She responded. At least she seemed happier now. I went and touched her forehead, but all the memories I had with her had her with a tan-ish brownish skin tone. I decoded to go off the memories, in case her skin was a sensitive point for her.
I took my hand off her forehead, and before me I recreated a scene where she was walking hand in hand with two men. It seemed these were her parents. She seemed really pleased with the illusion.
I decided to try and ask what was wrong "Ok Zullier, did something happen? Are you hurt?" I wanted to know of any injuries as soon as possible to help. "No, but I'm blue!" She responded. "Why is being blue a bad thing?" I asked because I wanted to report anyone who had bullied a small frost giant girl for her skin color! "Because papa and daddy are tan and brown, and I'm blue!" She responded. I realized she must have been adopted and her appearance altered for the parents.
"Oh dear. It looks like your stuck in a pickle. Is there anything else wrong with being blue other than your parents not being blue?" I asked still wanting to know if this was the only thing if so then to get to comforting her. "No. Its just I don't like being blue! It makes me feel all warm everywhere! Its just so hot and I can't fix it! And being blue is horrible. The only blue person I know, tries to hit me and my friends. I hate being blue!'
I saw what the problem was. She just didn't like the color of her skin, because it made her different from the people she knew to be nice, and her only experience with Frost Giants was her seemingly rude classmate or however she knew the Frost Giant. I decided to see what I could do to improve her opinion of the Frost Giants.
" Well what do you think of me?" I asked to see what she thought about me. "Your really nice mister!" She responded. I was glad she thought I was nice. "Well then watch this" I said as I closed my eyes and my skin started turning blue. I opened my eyes and I was a lot hotter, so she was right about that, but other then that the colors were dulled quite a bit.
"Now what do you think dear?" I asked, trying to see the full extent of the bullying. "Woah can you teach me that!! I want to be like my dads again. They are also nice and I want to still look like them. But will you still be nice now that your blue?" she asked, a little worried that I would change now my skin was a different color. "No dear. Your skin doesn't define you, your choices do. You may be put into the body of a monster, but unless you act like a monster you won't be a monster. Now I think its high time we go back to your dads. Shall we?" I said finishing my speech. "Yeah, but I still want to seem not blue for now. All my favorite colors are all dark now. They weren't like that before." I can teach you in front of your dads so they know if you ever forget. Now are you ready to go?" "Yes mister! I can't wait to see my dads again!" She seemed a lot happier with that, and it was clear she loved her dads dearly. They were probably looking for her everywhere.
I brought her to the town square and asked the helper if I could make an announcement. The helper replied yes so I took the microphone and said "If your looking for your adopted daughter around 6 years of age. I have her by the town square. Thank you!" I gave the helper back the microphone and we walked into the middle of the square. Those speakers go everywhere around here. They were probably asking passerbys if they had seen their daughter.
"My sweet girl!" I heard a male voice call out, and judging by her yelling "PAPA!" and running into the mans arms, this was one of her dads. I soon saw another man follow him and Zullier ran to give him a hug as well. I decided to go and introduce myself to them. "Hello sirs, I'm Loki, I found little Zullier when I was on my walk. Poor dear was distressed. I decided to say what would have helped when I was in her situation." I said as I changed my skin to flash blue and look the man in the eyes. I changed back once I knew he had processed it. "I see, thank you for helping out our daughter." The other man replied.
"Mister Loki, Can you teach me how to change back to my old self now? I want to see the colors again!" She responded. She must have heard when I said my name. Smart girl, She'll do well in life when she gets older. "Ok dear, I know the Frost Giant vision is more suited for telling the difference between snow colors, and not much else." I said to clear any confusion about why she asked to be able to see colors again.
"So its actually fairly easy. You just need to imagine yourself exactly as you are, except with the skin tone you want. It will be easier with a mirror and being proficient in illusions will help as well. That's why I can change so well. Your emotions play a part as well. Strong negative emotions will make your blue skin show itself. But your eyes are the hardest part. It took me ages to change my eyes, so I will do your eyes ok?" I explained making sure her dads were paying attention, so they could explain it again if need be.
"Ok mister, I'm gonna try." She said and closed her eyes. Soon her body started growing more and more like a mixture of her fathers skin tones. She was really pretty like that. I'm glad she got it. As expected, when she opened her eyes they were still blue. "Mister loki, the colors are still really dark." She told me. "Ok dear I'm going to change your eyes now ok?" I asked and looked at her dads for permission. They looked at one another and nodded to me.
I waved my hand in front of her eyes and when she next opened them she said "Yay all the colors are back!" She explained happily. "That meant that everything is back to normal. If you want to change back to being blue just stop thinking of yourself having this skin tone and replace it with a blue akin tone."
"Good job however, with being able to do most of the illusion at such a young age. You may want to have her checked for an illusion aptitude." I said, the last bit aimed at her parents.
"I think I will be taking my leave now" I said not wanting to overstay my welcome. "Alright bye bye Mister Loki!" She said, happy to be back with her family.
As I went back to the Asgardian branch in Ygdrasil, I considered what I had said to her. I was happy I could get her back with her family. Now all that was left was to go back to mine
