All right, fellow readers. This is the 47th chapter of this story!
Now, in this chapter, Andrew and his five friends explore the jungles of Keelhaul Key, find some items and a couple of Shine Sprites, and deal with some jungle creatures along the way.
Additionally, the six travelers end up finding Admiral Bobbery along with Four Eyes, and George T. Bobbery also decides to fend off the Embers that were surrounding him, Four Eyes and George T. At the same time, Andrew and his friends get Four Eyes and George T to head back to camp, and the six travelers decide to go help Bobbery.
And then Bobbery gives Andrew and his five friends one last request before he may perish. And some other stuff will be included too. How will this go for them? Read and find out, now!
IN THE JUNGLE - ON KEELHAUL KEY:
It didn't take long for the six travelers to start venturing their way into the deep jungle on Keelhaul Key. There were a couple of Green Fuzzies that were there to ambush them, but Andrew and his five pals dispatched both of them quickly.
There was also a pond of some kind that harbored some Nibbles that would bite them if any of them tried to take a dip in it. Naturally, the travelers decided to steer clear of it.
Andrew managed to find a Star Piece in the first clump of grass, which he pocketed as he took a look at his surroundings.
"Huh. Some dense jungles that we're dealing with, right guys?" Andrew had to ask them.
"You're telling me," Goombella agreed with him. "This is a 'totally' thick jungle. The flora in this area is unique to tropical regions."
"I don't think we could find any of these flowers anywhere else," Andrew rubbed his chin.
He then managed to find a Courage Shell that was in a yellow ?-block on the south side. He then saw a red ?-block nearby, in which he jumped up and hit it. A badge came out shortly afterwards.
Specifically, it was a Head Runner badge, which showed a violet-colored bat-shaped badge. Andrew picked it up and looked at it in amusement.
"Hmmm, I've never seen this badge before," Andrew had to observe it. "I wonder how long that's been here..."
"Gee. Didn't think a badge could be found here," Koops had to admit. "Think maybe more special goods are lying around here?"
"It's possible," Andrew took out his badge kit and placed that badge into it. "Considering that many pirates have met their end here, I wouldn't be surprised if some items or badges were lying around that were left behind by those pirates."
"I do believe you're right, Andrew," Flurrie agreed. "Believe me, there was a movie that I starred in once that involved being stranded on a remote island such as this. If I'm not mistaken, I must've played the Lady known as Fairchild."
"Hey! I happen to remember that one," Andrew snapped his fingers. "It was called Mystifying Isle, and it was about these prisoners who have escaped in a balloon and then found themselves stranded on that deserted island, similar to this one."
"Why, yes! That would happen to be the one," Flurrie admitted proudly. "I shan't ever doubt how much you know about the movies I've starred in. And I am certain that there will be a certain happy end for us to get off this island as well."
"No kidding there," Andrew nodded. "Let's see what else we can find in the jungle. There may be some Shine Sprites here."
"Yeah! There might be some fruits that we can take too, right Presto?" Yoshiam had to wonder. "That would be pretty awesome!"
"We'll see if we find any, Yoshiam," Andrew informed him. "But for now, we better keep going."
And that's what they did. They then entered another part of the jungle that required some climbing to reach the next area of the island. There were two Putrid Piranhas nearby, which were yellow-colored Piranha Plants with red spots and purple teeth.
Naturally, they tried to make a meal out of the travelers, as well as attempting to poison them, but Andrew was one step ahead of them as he dispatched them quickly with his five traveling friends aiding him with it. A Flower Fuzzy was also present, but the six travelers were able to take care of that too.
"Gee whiz, Andrew," Vivian had to sigh. "Those jungle creatures sure know how to put up a fight with us."
"Yeah. No kidding there," Andrew agreed. "Great work with scorching them with your Fiery Jinx though, Vivian."
"Uh, it was nothing. Really," Vivian uttered shyly as she rubbed her right arm with her left hand.
"I gotta tell you, those Putrid Piranhas 'totally' had it out for us," Goombella said in her usual sassy tone. "Their poison breath is enough to make you sick. And I'm like 'Breath mint, table four!'"
"Ha ha ha! No kidding there," Andrew couldn't help but chuckle at this. "Come to think of it, the Putrid Piranhas and those Green and Flower Fuzzies have been rampant in this jungle."
"Yeah. I 'totally' hate dealing with sickos like them," Goombella cringed. "And do you know why?"
"I do," Andrew nodded as this.
"They're just so gnarly," Andrew and Goombella chimed in unison before they started laughing.
There was no doubt about it. It would appear that the muscular man was taking a few pages from his Goomba friend and was supposedly becoming less cynical than he was in the beginning of this quest that he was on. And Goombella was quick to take notice of this.
"Wow, Andrew. Seems like I'm rubbing off on ya, hmm?" Goombella blinked before she gave him a playful smirk.
"Sure seems like it," Andrew gave her a smirk in return. "And I couldn't have had it better."
"Me either," Goombella agreed before adding. "Though now that I think of it, you 'really' have been changing since we started our journey in Petal Meadows."
"Yeah. This adventure has been changing me," Andrew nodded before confessing to his five friends. "It just goes to show that reuniting a Koopa with his long-lost father who he thought was dead, getting to meet my favorite actress who's a Wind Spirit, liberating a Yoshi Egg which also hatched, and becoming friends with a lonely Shadow Siren would do that to just about anybody."
"I have to agree with you there," Goombella commented in a preppy manner. "Our team has recruited some amazing people. And all of us have become friends as a result."
"Ummm... Yeah. She's right," Koops agreed. "We've come a long way since I left Petalburg to go to Hooktail Castle... Sure has seemed very interesting."
"Oh, my, my! I shan't disagree with you there," Flurre said. "This adventure so far has brought nothing short of thrills, drama, and such wonders! Not to mention some romance sprinkled into the mix, if I do say so myself."
"Can't argue with that Presto! We have fought plenty of monsters," Yoshiam proclaimed. "And we're gonna meet more creeps that try to stop us from here on! And we'll be ready for it!"
"Yeah, Andrew. I'm glad that I decided to travel with you," Vivian commented. "I've never felt safer than I did when I first decided to remain by your side. I'm sure that whatever happens next, we'll be together."
"No doubt, guys," Andrew said as he continued walking with his five friends.
"Y'know? There's a lot of ground to cover here," Goombella felt like commenting about the path that they have to follow. "It's complex... Switchback paths and stuff..."
"Can't argue with that," Andrew found a Mini Mr. Mini item in one of the bushes on the south side. "Why do I get the feeling that we'll have to backtrack this exact area several times?"
"Can't say for sure," Koops had to wonder. "Could it be maybe worse than the woods we trekked through in Twilight Trail?"
"I don't know," Andrew sighed. "But I bet it's going to be just as annoying..."
"Hey Andrew? Here's some advice that could help us proceed through this area," Goombella then shared with him. "I think there's an invisible block here somewhere, so why don't you look for it?"
"I guess we'll have to," Andrew then saw a square shadow right above another ?-block in the center between two ledges. "And I think I know where to look for it."
Taking out his bat, he then slammed it into the ?-block, which rewarded him with a single coin.
From there, he jumped on top of that block and jumped and hit the hidden wooden block, which rewarded him with 10 more coins that he put with the rest of his money.
With Yoshiam's assistance, they were able to navigate across the gap and make it to a higher level in the jungle. After doing some more climbing, Andrew saw something right above a brick block to the left of the left side of the cliff of the high mountain.
It was a Shine Sprite, in that typical clear yellow block. And was determined to claim it.
"Well guys, there's a Shine Sprite right there," Andrew pointed out. "Yoshiam, if you wouldn't mind helping me to get to it?"
"You got it, Presto," Yoshiam got situated for Andrew to get on his back.
He then flutter-jumped over to the brick block that had that Shine Sprite Block right above it. Once he was underneath it, Andrew got off of Yoshiam, jumped and punched the block, and then claimed the Shine Sprite that fell out of it. With some more help from Yoshiam, Andrew made it back to where his other friends were waiting for him.
"My, my, what a rather odd place for that Shine Sprite to have been found," Flurrie had to admit. "I daresay we have our work cut out for the likes of us. What with all the items, badges, and Shine Sprites we've been collecting."
"Yeah. But we've been doing this for a while," Andrew put the Shine Sprite into his backpack with the three other Shine Sprites he found a while ago. "Now, let's continue climbing and see what's beyond this point of the jungle."
And so the six of them climbed up the mountain a little more, where Andrew found a Thunder Rage item in the ?-block on the high mountain. He was also able to claim a Jammin' Jelly item from a hidden block that he hit with his Super Bat swing.
He decided to use it sometime later. There were probably some recipes in the Cookbook that he had that involved combining Jammin' Jellies with Ultra Shrooms together, which would make the rare to find Jelly Ultra.
With that in mind, Andrew, Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian trekked through the mountaintop, where they jumped down the ledge that led to another pathway. Andrew was certain that it would lead them to another part of the island.
"Ummm...Andrew? Do we have to continue traveling?" Koops huffed from the heat hitting his head. "Climbing's becoming a little tiring. Dunno if I can continue going on..."
"I know the feeling, Koops," Andrew assured him. "But we have to find the three missing crew members. They shouldn't be far from here. Plus we also have to figure out where the Sapphire Star is located."
"Oh...You're right, Andrew," Koops sighed. "Golly... If only I wasn't getting so tired from all this heat..."
"Here," Andrew took out a Super Shroom that he had and gave it to his Koopa friend. "Maybe this might help with giving you more energy."
"Oh, ummm... Thanks for this," Koops then started eating the Super Shroom. "Gee whiz, I'm feeling a little better."
"That's good," Andrew nodded. "Let's go. I think there's something important up ahead."
"You betcha, Andrew," Goombella beamed. "Let's check it out!"
"I hope we can find those missing crew members soon," Vivian had to express in worry. "Gosh. This heat could 'really' affect them..."
"I hope we find them too, Vivian," Andrew nodded. "Let's see if we can find them."
All five of them nodded as they headed down the path, and ended up in the next area that had a bridge connecting two parts of the area, which they assumed that they'd need to cross, along with a couple of fruit trees that were lurking around.
"Whoa! Plenty of trees bearing fruits here, from what I can see," Yoshiam pointed out. "Looks like we've hit the jackpot here, Presto!"
"Sure seems like it to me," Andrew had to nod in agreement.
Before he could do anything else, he heard a familiar voice yelling nearby, which caught his attention, along with that of his five friends.
"These cursed ghosts... Blast it all!" That voice sounded like it was coming from the admiral.
"Dearie me, Andrew!" Flurrie had to gasp. "I do believe that voice belongs to Admiral Bobbery!"
"Hey! That's not all," Andrew then saw a couple of people on the bridge. "Look over there! On the bridge!"
In the center of the bridge was Admiral Bobbery, and with him were Four Eyes and George T. Unfortunately, the three of them were surrounded by two Embers on both sides. Andrew figured that they needed some help, especially given that they were still alive. He approached them on the bridge along with his five friends.
"Hey! Admiral Bobbery!" Andrew yelled, getting his attention. "Over here! You're alive and well along with Four Eyes and George T!"
"By Blubbery's blotches!" Bobbery noticed that it was Andrew and his friends. "Is that Andrew over there? You're alive, old boy! And you're no longer suffering from a bad illness either, eh!?"
"That's right!" Andrew nodded. "I'm back on my feet and I'm no longer sick! And I'm still alive!"
"Right! You came just in the nick of time!" Bobbery then gave him a request to Andrew involving George T and Four Eyes. "Get these two out of here this instant!"
It was then George T looked a little apprehensive, feeling that leaving the admiral alone to deal with the Embers would prove to be a rather fatal mistake on their part.
"Huh? But what about you, Admiral?" George T had to ask. "You've gotta get out of here, too!"
"Just leave it to me, eh? I'll keep these ghouls busy while you get out of here!" Bobbery ordered, willing to sacrifice himself while the others got away, and went back to the camp where the others were residing. "Flee! That's an order! Let me do what I must do! NOW, AWAY WITH YOU!"
With that, Bobbery then managed to toss Four Eyes and George T over to where Andrew and his friends were.
"Aaaaaaaah!" George T yelled as Andrew was nearly knocked over.
"Well, Bobbery here thinks it's the right thing to do!" Four Eyes decided to go along with this scheme. "So what are we waiting for?"
Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian just shrugged as they watched Bobbery try to duke it out with both Embers on the bridge. They decided to head back along with George T. Andrew was about to follow them, but before he could, Four Eyes ended up scooping him up with both hands and carried him away, much to Andrew's annoyance.
"Uh, I'm not sick anymore." Andrew deadpanned in annoyance. "I happen to have legs too, you know? It's not like they're broken or anything."
Four Eyes looked like he was about to react towards Andrew's smart mouth comment, and how he didn't have to put up with it. But he kept it together, seeing that he'd blow his cover if he did. Instead, he decided to humor him.
"Buh huh huh! You know? You're a real funny guy with your smart-mouth comments," Four Eyes told him. "Seriously. It's comedy gold."
"Yeah. I can't imagine why," Andrew deadpanned sarcastically at this.
"You should try being a stand-up comedian with your dry sense of humor," Four Eyes suggested suspiciously. "I think you'd knock the crowd dead with your smart-mouth remarks."
"Wow. You don't say. That never crossed my mind," Andrew retorted in a snarky manner as he rolled his eyes. "I haven't thought of it that way. I'll have to think about it once we're not stranded on this island..."
Four Eyes said nothing else as he continued to carry Andrew until they were back at the previous area of the jungle, near the top of the mountain.
Putting Andrew down, the muscular man dusted himself off before he walked over to where his Goomba, Koopa, Wind Spirit, Yoshi, and Shadow Siren friends were waiting for him.
By the looks of it, George T felt very guilty for leaving Bobbery all alone to deal with those two Embers with no one there to help him. Just having to do this made him look like a coward in nature.
"...Oh, Bobbery, please forgive our cowardice! We up and left you and..." George T begged in a cry. "Everything was happening so quickly... Forgive us!"
With that, George T climbed up the mountain without looking back as he scurried back to the camp where the others were located. It was then Four Eyes noticed this, and he decided to head back as well.
"Gone, eh?" Four Eyes cleared his throat before saying without giving himself away. "Excuse me, but I'd better be going also..."
It was then Four Eyes then climbed up the mountain and was preparing to head back to camp. Before he could, however, he turned around and jumped down to the middle step leading to the mountain. With that, he turned to face the readers who were reading this chapter and decided to give them a warning.
"And hey! You! Out there in front of the computer! Yeah, I'm talking to YOU!" Four Eyes then gave the readers a warning. "It may be pretty obvious to you who I 'really' am, but no telling Andrew! Or else!"
And with that, POW! Four Eyes then took his leave and headed back to the camp. Andrew and his five friends were completely confused by what Four Eyes was talking about, though Andrew was less confused by this compared to his friends.
"You out there in front of the computer?" All six of them had to query in confusion before each one of Andrew's friends had to comment on his bizarre warning.
"Does that guy have a mental problem?" Goombella retorted while rolling his eyes, as she almost referred to him as Lord Crump, but she bit her tongue before she could utter it out loud.
"Um... Is that guy OK, you think?" Koops had to scratch his head. "Even though we know who that guy 'really' is..."
"I think perhaps that fellow has sunstroke," Flurrie admitted with a huff. "Which may be fitting, considering the identity of that Four Eyes fellow."
"Did this guy go nuts, or what?" Yoshiam snorted. "I never met him before, but is he usually this off-the-wall with how he behaves?!"
"Uh, does that make sense to anyone here?" Vivian could only shrug as she had no idea as to what she could add to this discussion.
"I don't think it matters anyway," Andrew sighed. "We already know that Four Eyes is Crump. We just have to humor him and play along with it until we get the Sapphire Star. And as soon as we claim the Sapphire Star, we can drop the charade altogether."
"You're 'totally' right," Goombella agreed. "And we'll worry about that creep later. But for now, what should we do?"
"I don't know about you guys, but I'm going back to the bridge," Andrew declared.
"You are? What for?" Koops asked in confusion.
"We can't leave Admiral Bobbery to deal with those Embers alone," Andrew declared. "From the looks of it, he looked like he was barely able to fend them off. He needs our help, and I suggest that we give it to him."
"Oh, my! Mercy me! That happens to be a rather noble and thoughtful idea that you came up with, dearie," Flurrie had to admit. "We shan't leave that Bobbery fellow alone to deal with those flaming scoundrels. We must provide our assistance to him!"
"You're right, Presto," Yoshiam agreed. "That Bobbery gramps looks like he's about to be knocked out! So let's pummel those hotheads and teach 'em a lesson!"
"I couldn't agree more, Andrew," Vivian nodded. "The admiral needs our help. And we're not gonna leave him like this."
"Y'know, that's a great idea," Goombella beamed. "You and I are like, so 'TOTALLY' on the same page right now! Let's go help Admiral Bobbery!"
"Yeah. I have to agree," Koops nodded. "Let's go save the admiral!"
"That's the spirit!" Andrew pointed off to the bridge up ahead. "Let's go save him!"
And that's what they did when they headed back to where the bridge was located. Andrew managed to find another Inn Coupon in a nearby bush, which he decided to save for an important occasion.
They then decided to cross over the bridge to get to the other side. As they were doing that, Andrew found something below the right end of the bridge. It was yet another badge.
This badge, however, was an Ice Power badge. And it looked like it could be useful when dealing with flaming monsters such as the Embers.
"Huh? It's another badge," Andrew then used Paper Mode to slip through the bridge slat and landed on the ledge where the Ice Power badge was resting. "This is interesting."
"Whatcha think that badge could be for?" Goombella asked while raising an eyebrow as Andrew grabbed the badge and regrouped with his five friends.
"Hmmm...I think this badge could be important for something," Andrew admired it. "And it might help against those Embers. I'm gonna put it on."
"Gotcha," Goombella then noticed something as she looked through the slats underneath the bridge. "Whoa! Being able to see the water through the slats makes my belly go bleeeeeeeeah!"
It was then that Goombella was feeling nauseous as her eyes were spinning, looking green around the gills. "Whoa. Hang on. I'm a little woozy. I might faint..."
"Goombella?" Andrew asked as soon as he put the badge on with the rest of the badges that he was wearing. "Would you like me to carry you again until you're all better?"
"Omigosh! Aren'tcha quite the romantic guy, Andrew," Goombella had to tease him while shaking her head as Andrew gave her a blank stare. "Aw c'mon! I'm just teasing ya! Y'know what I think of that? Of 'course' I'll let you carry me. At least until I 'totally' feel better, that is..."
Andrew sighed as he picked Goombella up again and allowed her to sit on his right shoulder once again. Once she was comfortable, he then gazed at her.
"Shall we get going?" Andrew suggested to his Goomba friend.
"Only when you are," Goombella smirked while still feeling a little light-headed.
"Yo! Presto!" Yoshiam decided to get his attention. "Take a look at that!"
Andrew saw what Yoshiam was pointing at. It was another Shine Sprite in that clear yellow block. And it was covered by the leaves of the tree near the right exit.
"By the stars! I do believe that is yet another precious Shine Sprite right there!" Flurrie had to gasp upon seeing it.
"Man... We 'really' have been finding these things since we first started..." Koops had to comment. "Haven't we?"
"There's no doubt about that," Andrew said as he went over, jumped up, and punched the block to claim the Shine Sprite. "We've been collecting plenty of these things, which is good."
"Yeah, Andrew. That has been good," Vivian nodded as he put the Shine Sprite with the others that he had on hand. "We better go see if the Admiral is just up ahead."
"Good idea," Andrew nodded as he walked down the pathway on the other side of the bridge.
Goombella remained perched on Andrew's right shoulder while Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian followed right behind them.
They then ended up in the farthest part of the right side of the island, where the entrance to a strange cave was supposed to be. And it was likely where the Sapphire Star was located. Before Andrew could make a further comment about this area, he heard the voice of the admiral moaning from nearby.
"Urggh... Ugghh... Yuuurghh..." Bobbery was heard moaning from out of nowhere. "So this is how a legend of the sea meets his end, eh?"
"That's Bobbery!" Andrew declared when he saw the palm tree in the center of the area.
Bobbery was at the top of the palm tree, which was surrounded by those two Embers that he tried dealing with earlier.
Andrew knew exactly what they had to do. They had to dispose of those Embers right away.
"Bobbery's in that tree! And those Embers have him cornered!" Andrew proclaimed. "We have to get them away from that tree and dispatch them, pronto!"
"No worries, Presto! I've got this," Yoshiam then went and called out to the Embers. "Hey! You two fiery hotheaded freaks! Over here!"
Yoshiam then started making faces and taunting them to get them to go after them instead of Bobbery. It managed to work as the two Embers floated away from the tree and went over to the six travelers instead.
"All right," Andrew readied his left fist. "Let's hope that this Ice Power badge does the trick."
Andrew got in front of Yoshiam, with Goombella still on his right shoulder as he pulled his left fist back before plowing it forward.
In a matter of seconds, the fist collided with one of the Embers. Not only did it do significant damage, but Andrew's hand wasn't suffering from a burn. And that meant one thing.
"Well, what do you know," Andrew felt his left hand being perfectly fine with no scorch marks. "Guess that's what the Ice Power badge can do."
"Yeah. That's real good Andrew," Goombella had to remind him. "But that badge doesn't do anything for the rest of us."
"Right," Andrew nodded as Goombella jumped off of his shoulder to let the muscular man do his job. "Let's get this over with."
With that, Andrew made a leaping jump into the air where he spun around and aimed his left foot towards the other Ember that he hadn't punched yet. He then performed a rather strong Power Jump on the Ember. Andrew also noticed that it did a little more damage than he did before getting that badge.
Well, that badge is 'definitely' useful against these guys... Andrew thought in pleasure.
Yoshiam then went ahead and approached one of the Embers, which he then grabbed with his tongue and put into his mouth. Seconds later, he performed his Gulp move, by spitting out the Ember into the other Ember, causing some more significant damage.
Koops then stepped up and used his Power Shell to plow through both of them. He was successful as he creamed right over the two Embers, knocking them to the ground he then did a breakdance routine to dodge the incoming Fireballs that they were shooting at him.
"All right. Let's see how they like this," Andrew took out his bat and then performed a Super Bat swing into one of them, careening it into the other.
Andrew followed that with a Multibounce attack, in which he jumped onto one Ember, jumped off, and landed on top of the other one. From there, he leaped off and did a backflip through the air before he landed right in front of his five friends.
Yoshiam decided that now was the time for these two to get a little taste of his Mini-Egg attack, as he then laid three Mini-Eggs. From there, he threw all of them at the two Embers, shrinking them down to size as a result.
"Excellent, Yoshiam," Andrew held his Super Bat out. "Now, what do you say we try the Gulp-Bat Swing combo attack?"
"I'm more than ready for it, Presto!" Yoshiam then went ahead and grabbed one of the Embers with his tongue.
Moments later, Yoshiam spat out that one particular Ember towards Andrew, who then swung his bat once it was close enough to make contact. The Ember that was struck like a baseball went soaring and plowed right into the other Ember. Both of them were sustaining a significant amount of damage thanks to Andrew and his friends.
Andrew then stomped on one of them with his Power Jump, before plowing the other one with his Power Swing. It looked like they were almost finished. All they needed to do was deliver the final blow and their flames will end up fizzing out and they'll disappear.
"All right, Andrew!" Goombella beamed. "You're 'totally' killing it with how you're dealing with those flaming ghouls!"
"Yeah, Andrew," Vivian agreed. "They seem to be worn out. Looks like we've got their number."
"You said it, Vivian," Andrew nodded with a smirk. "All that's needed is one final blow and we'll finish it off. Flurrie, would you mind doing the honor for us?"
"Why, I shall gladly handle this, darling," Flurrie nodded and floated forward. "I'll be delighted to blow these flaming cads away with my act!"
As soon as she took a deep breath, Flurrie unleashed a powerful Gale Force move, which caused the two Embers to start fizzing out. In a matter of seconds, both of them went out like two flames on a candle being blown out. They were no longer there. They have been defeated.
"Ummm... Wow..." Koops rubbed the back of his neck. "Looks like we did it... Again..."
"We sure did Koops," Andrew nodded. "Now we need to get Bobbery out of this tree since it's safe for him to come down."
Taking out his Super Bat, Andrew approached the palm tree and swung it real hard into the trunk. The tree shook roughly, which caused Admiral Bobbery to react as a result of this action.
"Ooh! The pain of it all!" Bobbery yelled before he fell back down onto the ground, all worn out and whatnot.
Andrew could see it in his exhausted expression that dealing with those Embers 'really' took a toll on him. He was willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for the rest of his crew, and this is what happened to him as a result.
"Admiral Bobbery?" Andrew had to ask in a worried tone. "Are you OK, sir?"
"Omigosh!" Goombella yelped as she approached the Bob-omb along with Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian. "Admiral? You aren't hurting too much, aren'tcha?"
"Ugh... HACK!" Bobbery uttered with a cough before he then admitted. "Urfffff... I guess those blokes got me a bit better than I thought..."
"Yeah. It was a brave and thoughtful thing to do," Andrew had to admit. "But I guess you weren't able to deal with them by yourself. Not without our help, that is."
"Andrew... Please hear my last request..." Bobbery didn't know how much longer he'd be able to make it. "I must thank you for taking me out to sea one last time..."
Andrew had a shocked expression on his face. Surely Bobbery wasn't referring to what he feared that he was referring to, was he? Even though he was an old Bob-omb, that didn't mean that his time in the world had finally come to an end, had it?
"Wait, Admiral? You...You don't mean that you're about to...?" Andrew trailed off as he was unable to finish.
"Alas... I'm afraid so..." Bobbery moaned in agony as he nodded to confirm it to be true.
"Man...That doesn't sound good..." Koops had to frown at this. "Wish there was something we can do for you, sir..."
"'As a matter of fact', there is something you fine folks can do..." Bobbery then had to tell them. "There is one thing I need before I go to my rest..."
"What do you need?" Andrew had to ask in concern.
"Chuckola Cola..." Bobbery answered, simply getting to the point. "I was saving that one bottle, my last memory of Scarlette...to celebrate reaching here..."
"Oh my!" Flurrie gasped in shock before asking. "'Pray' tell', wasn't it the bottle that had your name imprinted on the label of it, hmmm?"
"Aye... That's correct..." Bobbery confirmed. "It would happen to be my only bottle...of Chuckola Cola..."
"I see," Andrew had to rub his chin. "Do you remember what happened to it?"
"I saw it among the flotsam drifting toward the island, so it must be somewhere..." Bobbery told him hoarsely.
"Hey Presto," Yoshiam had to tug on Andrew's shirt. "Do you think that Flavio might have possession of Admiral Bobbery's Chuckola Cola?"
"Hmmm, I'm pretty sure he does," Andrew admitted. "Guess we'll have to check with him."
"If I might just have one sip before my final voyage..." Bobbery had to admit sadly before coughing some more. "HAAAAACK! PBBBTTHH!"
"Oh no..." Vivian seemed 'really' concerned as she floated over to him. "Please tell me you'll be all right Admiral... Please tell me that you'll make it... Please..."
Just seeing the admiral in this state was enough to make all six of them frown in sympathy. They didn't want to see him go like this.
But unfortunately, they couldn't be able to control life itself. Therefore, there was nothing that they could do about it. The least they could do for Bobbery was to fulfill his last and final request.
"Uuurrrrgh..." Bobbery then begged. "Get me that Chuckola Cola, old boy..."
"We'll be sure to get it for you, right away," Andrew promised with a determined nod. "Don't worry about anything."
"Wait," Goombella had to ask Bobbery something. "Aren'tcha gonna be OK here by yourself? Don'tcha want one of us here to keep watch on you?"
"There shall be no need to worry about what happens to the likes of me... I should be fine for the time being..." Bobbery insisted. "Just don't dilly-dally, eh? I have doubts that you young folks are a couple of scallywags... But please, get me that Chuckola Cola... OK, dear boy?"
"We'll get that Chuckola Cola, right away," Andrew promised before facing his five other friends. "Ready to get that Chuckola Cola, guys?"
"Totally," Goombella beamed. "Let's oblige to Bobbery's final request!"
"Yeah...I'm ready too," Koops agreed. "The sooner we get back with the Chuckola Cola, the better..."
"I shall be ready too, sweetums," Flurrie admitted. "We shan't waste any time with getting it and letting this poor Bobbery fellow perish without it. We shall return with the Chuckola Cola, regardless of what tries to stop us!"
"Yeah! I'm ready too, Presto!" Yoshiam nodded. "Let's get the Chuckola Cola before Bobbery here finally kicks the bucket."
"I'm with you too, Andrew," Vivian added shyly. "We should get going right away..."
"Exactly," Andrew then walked back towards the direction that the camp was in. "Let's head back to camp and ask Flavio if he's seen the Chuckola Cola."
They all nodded as the six travelers headed back towards the campsite. They could only hope that they could get the Chuckola Cola and deliver it to Bobbery before it was too late, as the group of six friends were heard talking about it as they headed back into the jungle.
"Hey, Andrew?" Goombella got his attention. "You sure it was all right for us to leave Bobbery there all alone while we, well, y'know? Get him his Chuckola Cola?"
"I'll admit, I wasn't too keen on it either, Goombella. But I'm afraid we don't have much of a choice," Andrew admitted. "He wants to drink his final wishes before he departs, and we will make sure that it happens. And if he insists that he'll be fine by himself, then we aren't ones to deny it."
"Yeah... I guess you're right, Andrew," Koops agreed. "Sure feel bad for him... He lost his wife, and now he feels like his time is just about up... Kinda reminds me of how I was when I lost my father to Hooktail... Before you and Goombella showed up in Petalburg to claim the Diamond Star that was located at Hooktail Castle..."
"We know, Koops," Andrew understood. "So far, I've been around to support all five of you while we're traveling on this quest to get the seven Crystal Stars. And I should do the same for Admiral Bobbery."
"Mercy me, Andrew! I have to concur with you there!" Flurrie commented. "I knew what it must've been like for the admiral, especially when I had started my career as an actress! I must say, I shan't be willing to give up my passion as an actress, and I do believe that Admiral Bobbery shouldn't give up his passion as a sailor. Provided that he doesn't croak as he says he will, that is."
"I understand Flurrie," Andrew remarked. "The least we can do is hope that it doesn't happen sooner. And that we can make his final wish the best thing to have ever happened to him."
"Sheesh! I can't argue with that, Presto," Yoshiam had to think of something as he rubbed his chin. "Hey, do you suppose that maybe he's lost his marbles and that he might be overreacting over how he's departing so soon? Cause either way, this stinks for all of us!"
"I can't say for sure, Yoshiam," Andrew told him. "Maybe it is the senility that's playing a role. After all, this is the first time in years that he's sailed on the water like this, let alone to a dangerous place such as Keelhaul Key. All I can say is that we should prepare for anything that could happen after we give him the Chuckola Cola."
"In that case, we better get that Chuckola Cola as soon as possible, right Andrew?" Vivian suggested meekly. "I mean, it wouldn't be good for us or the admiral if we don't hurry."
"That's right, Vivian," Andrew agreed. "We just need to get through this dense jungle again first. Let's get going."
Andrew trekked across the bridge and headed back to the mountain where he would climb down from afterwards. Goombella, Koops, Flurrie, Yoshiam, and Vivian followed right after him as they headed back to the shantytown where Flavio and the others were located. And where that one bottle of Chuckola Cola that had Bobbery's name written on the label was resting.
The muscular man could only hope that he could convince Flavio to fork it over, provided that he had it on hand. He also hoped that he hadn't drunk it already, because Bobbery 'really' needed it, and it was the admiral's bottle of Chuckola Cola.
The muscular man and his Goomba, Koopa, Wind Spirit, Yoshi, and Shadow Siren friends could only hope that the admiral Bob-omb will make it and that he won't perish, despite the circumstances that were surrounding the situation.
'Needless to say', the six travelers were gonna be in for quite the experience when it came to negotiating with Flavio to gain possession of the Chuckola Cola bottle that was rightfully Bobbery's, and the exchange that'll have to be made to accomplish it. That's for darn sure...
END OF CHAPTER 47...
All right. That's it for this chapter. I hope you all enjoyed this one too.
Yeah, there isn't much to discuss about in this chapter. Aside from the fact that Bobbery wants his bottle of Chuckola Cola, which is now in the custody of Flavio. And Andrew has to negotiate with him to fork it over in exchange for something else.
Those who have played the game know exactly what becomes of Bobbery and who will be Andrew's sixth partner and friend to travel with him. I won't go into further details about it.
Lastly, I've decided to include another movie that Flurrie has starred in, based on the situation that the six travelers are in currently while being stranded on Keelhaul Key. The movie Mystifying Isle is in fact, a parody of Mysterious Island, which involves some prisoners being stranded on a remote island.
I decided to come up with a parody for it since it makes sense in context. I've been doing a good job coming up with these kinds of ideas for the partners in addition to further exploring Andrew's backstory.
Anyway, the next chapter is going to be amusing. For the next chapter, Andrew will have to engage in a trade-off with Flavio to get the Chuckola Cola he seeks to give to Bobbery. He'll have to find something on the island to trade for it.
Andrew will also rely on Yoshiam's help to find and retrieve whatever island food source could easily replace the Chuckola Cola. And a few other things will take place too. How will this go for Andrew? Find out next time, readers!
For now, only if you feel up to it, you can leave a review and warn Andrew about the fact that Four Eyes is 'really' Lord Crump. OK. Just kidding about that. But seriously, you can leave a review and let me know what you thought about this chapter, but only if you want.
Otherwise, I have nothing else that I have to say here. So until next time, I do hope you all will take care of yourselves. And on that note, thanks again for reading, everyone!
