I apologize that it took so long and I'm going to tell you the truth, I suffer from Seasonal Depression and some times things get difficult to do
"You okay Katie?" Gibbs asked from the other side of the bathroom door.
Hearing a weak "Fine." Gibbs frowned, grabbing the key from the dresser he unlocked the door to find her on the floor next to the toilet.
"Hey." kneeling down next to her he pressed his hand against her forehead before checking the back of her neck "No fever, and I don't think it's an allergic reaction to anything we ate last night, that would have been immediate." Despite feeling like crap Kate chuckled and then smirked when it dawned on Gibbs what it could be. "Are you?" he glanced at her belly.
"No idea." Kate admitted "I thought I'd buy a test on the way home."
"Do you wanna skip tonight?"
"No, I'll be fine." she shook her head.
The remaining nights of Hanukkah were spent at Ziva's, Tony held up a movie when she opened the front door, "Good movie, Jewish actor." he grinned before quietly admitting "I don't know any Hanukkah movies, or if you watch movies or if it's just games."
"We will watch it after dinner." Ziva smiled taking his coat.
"Hey Boss, hey Kate." Tony nodded to them, Kate gave him a little wave.
Ziva walked them through the traditions of her family for the second night, lighting the candles, singing the songs, eating and playing games before they settled to open presents and then watch Tony's movie. She thought the movie was a nice addition to things, a new tradition with her new family, and it wasn't a new movie, Tony made sure it was from the Golden Age of Hollywood.
Hugging Ziva at night's end Kate asked her "It was a lovely dinner Ziva, are you sure you don't need any help tomorrow?"
"Actually your brother volunteered," Ziva nodded to Danny "and I decided to take him up on the offer."
"See you tomorrow." Gibbs nodded giving Ziva's shoulder a pat.
"See you in the morning." Danny hugged Ziva following Gibbs and Kate out the door, Rachel doing the same after she hugged the younger woman.
"Happy Hanukkah Ziva." Abby hugged her tightly.
"Thank you." Ziva smiled, she was happy the Goth was warming up to her.
"I have a great movie in mind for tomorrow." Tony told Ziva as he picked up his bag from Danny. "Classic, Spartacus, Kirk Douglas."
"I have heard of this movie, they all say they are this man." Ziva said to Tony as she was hugging Palmer.
"Yes." Tony nodded "See you tomorrow." he gave her a quick side hug.
Gibbs stood on the outside of the door waiting, holding up her hand Kate stopped herself from colliding with his chest, "It takes a few minutes so let's get breakfast going and check on it when we're were finished."
"Still go to the doctor."
"I will," she promised as they headed down the stairs "either to double check the results or see what's going on."
"Do you want to talk about it?" Gibbs asked.
"Is there anything to talk about until we know?" she asked as they reached the kitchen "We said if it happened it happened."
"Are you still okay with that?" they weren't looking at one another while they were talking but going about the kitchen getting breakfast ready, Kate was going to have toast again.
"You mean having a child and not being married?" Kate knew that was it "I told you, I will take you and our child at your pace, I understand you're hesitant about getting married again."
"Shouldn't just be my pace."
"Gibbs," Kate sighed, walking to him she placed a hand on his cheek "Jethro," covering her hand with his Gibbs waited. "I have you, that's what I want and I don't care about the rest, wedding, no wedding" Kate shrugged "I don't care. You are all I need, and if I am pregnant then it's a bonus who will hopefully not have your addiction to coffee." pushing up on her toes Kate lightly kissed his lips.
They both kept staring at the stick in Kate's hand, neither really believing it "I'll see if my doctor has any cancelations today." Kate murmured.
"You want me to go with you?"
"The question is do you want to go with me?" Kate looked up at him "I told you I'm not making you do something you don't want to do."
"Kate I want to do everything with you." Gibbs promised, reaching out he gently took her by the waist pulling her into a hug, kissing the top of her head he whispered "We're having a baby."
They kissed before the elevator doors opened "I'll see you at lunch." Kate said heading for the stairs.
"Coffee break." Gibbs corrected.
"Morning Kate."
"Morning Tim." she smiled.
"Good morning." Ziva held up a bag. "Latkes?" Kate waited for her stomach's reaction before joining the boys at Ziva's desk, his phone ringing Gibbs answered it staying away from the others as Ziva handed them the food. Like the others she watched Gibbs waiting to be told to grab her gear, and as soon as he hung up he didn't have to say it, Ziva handed the bag to Kate.
"I'll call you." Gibbs promised, Kate nodded.
"Ziva do you mind if I share with the boys?" Kate asked gesturing with the bag to her office.
"No go ahead." Ziva shook her head.
"Hello?" Kate answered her cell phone.
"Did you get an appointment?"
"I did, 11:30."
"I'll be there," he promised "then we'll get lunch."
"Okay." she didn't want to ask but he usually kept her up o date on his cases.
"Wife's on the run, got a minor, he was at school." Gibbs explained "His grandparents are on the way, he's on his way to the office."
"I'll talk to him, bring Abby along." Kate knew she was the best with kids.
Kate had left when Tony showed up with food for the boy, she and Gibbs were now waiting to see if the home test was correct and if she was really pregnant. "I hate the waiting." Kate admitted looking around the small room, she was stuck on the exam table, Gibbs was studying one of the anatomy posters on the full body muscles, she was occasionally looking at it as well. She was looking at the location she'd been shot, she remembered the name of the muscles and everything else that the bullet damaged.
Both their eyes shot to the door when it opened, her doctor was smiling holding her file, he already knew she was off her birth control, it was in her paperwork, so he smiled "Congratulations." Gibbs glanced at her stomach, her hands were already covering it "I have the nurse setting up your next appointment with your OB," Kate nodded they were in the same office, for that she was grateful "obviously you're out of the field and not around chemicals..."
"No worries there doc, she switched jobs, she's in office now." Gibbs said moving closer to Kate realizing she must have told her OB and not her primary doctor.
"Even better, try to keep the stress at a minimum." his eyebrow raised at Kate's un-lady like snort.
"Sorry." she apologized glancing at Gibbs "I'm not in the field but that won't stop me from worrying when my old team goes out."
"I understand, I have many law enforcement spouses." he nodded, "Just let us know if it's more than your usual stress."
"I will." she promised.
"How was holiday stress?" he asked.
"We haven't had any."
"That's good." the doctor nodded. "Alright then, you're all set, call if you need me."
"We will." Gibbs promised, once the doctor left the room Gibbs stepped in front of Kate putting his hands over hers.
Kate smiled at him as he smiled down at her belly murmuring. "We're gonna have a baby."
