This is Chapter 13 of Tales of the Decade Second Season.
Chapter 13: Invasion of Negative!
Sitting on his throne chair, Dark Tsukasa steepled his fingers together, pressuring the distal phalanx of his fingers. He's waiting; waiting for him to arrive.
Soon he feels a rush of air; an Aurora Curtain opening up in his world. His stern expression slowly turns into a small evil smirk, the Great Leader mutters to himself, almost excitedly. ''So you've come.''
Manifesting out of thin air, the Hikari Studio appears within the large towering dark city, the capital of the World of Negative. The city feels almost dead like there's no color or light to this world.
''Absol!'' Layla barks, poking from outside a window to see all civilians, even the children, wearing gray business suits. No shops or stores other than the bare important ones like food. It is an almost dull yet dreadful world where everyone must follow its rules.
''Okay, we're here.'' Dragonic announces the obvious, looking at the backdrop to see the image of a large castle with the Dai-Shocker symbol as its crown and the silhouette of Dark Decade behind it, except its glowing blue eyes.
Sougo frowns, not liking they're actually here but it can't be helped… Maybe this is for the best after all.
''So Tsukasa-kun…'' Dragonic begins to ask as Tsukasa is in the kitchen, drinking a cup of coffee. As he figured; this is the world that the other Sayo hated. No wonder she didn't want to come with them but he's grateful for her help. Dragonic said he could have found this world on his own but Sayo doing this for them showed that Tsukasa connected to her humanity and did saved her from this world's evil.
Tsukasa then pulls out a photograph, one she gave him before she left. He gazes at it with a firm glare before putting it away into his coat. Once he sees his other self again, he'll have something he wants to tell him.
''What should our approach be? Want to find maybe a resistance in this world or try to sneak in with you dressed as their Great Leader? Or?'' Dragonic begins to suggest to him, almost certain what Tsukasa will say. Washing the cup and putting it away, Tsukasa, wearing his classic black coat and magenta turtleneck shirt walks forward and towards the door.
''No.'' Tsukasa proclaims as he turns to face them and smirks, giving them his signature hand point gesture. ''I'm walking right into Dai-Shocker's front door.''
Layla and Jigglypuff both drop their jaws with Sougo sighs at such a careless-
''… Good!'' Says Dragonic with a smirk to everyone's shock. ''I didn't want to play the long game anyway with Natsumi-chan in trouble.'' He flies right next to Tsukasa. ''Let's go!''
''Absol…'' Layla mutters worried but she doesn't have a choice or Jigglypuff who cries in agreement. ''Jiggly…''
Sougo watches them walking to the door and he sighs, responding back. ''… Let's.''
The group leaves the house and travels through the empty, soulless streets of this city towards the horizon of a large castle, that being the castle of Dai-Shocker. There were people here but now it's like the city has been abandoned.
''Absol!'' Layla barks, looking around cautiously by how off this became. Tsukasa agrees as it feels off that the people are just- and then it hits him with a smirk.
''Hmph, guess we're being expected huh?'' He says as he takes a photo of the nicest view. Jigglypuff looks at him puzzled.
As they get closer to the large castle, they immediately see rows upon rows of an army of monsters, each belonging from another world, guarding the front of the castle.
Tsukasa smirks, expecting no less from his evil version as he proclaims. ''Well, look at the welcoming party!'' Just then flying robotic Dai-Shocker robots fly down, aiming their wrist arm weapons. ''And the giant mechas too.''
Dragonic snickers by this welcome as he says. ''I got them. You have a plan for the ground troopers?''
''I do.'' Tsukasa answers him, strapping on the Decadriver. ''Catch up though, Dragonic.''
The purple dragon smirks as he flies up in a hurry towards the robots, breathing intense purple flames that blasts one of the robots into the air. The others come at him but Dragonic swirls around their attempt to attack or catch him before swinging his tail and slashes a robotic arm, grabs it and jabs that arm through the mecha's chest.
Layla sweat drops as Dragonic rams another mecha into the air before flying past it, leading the others to follow him.
''Absol?'' Layla then barks, questioning if Tsukasa has a plan against the enemy army. He smirks as the flyable monsters are flying right at them.
''Of course. I always have a plan.'' He answers her as he raises his hand over his head. ''It's called IOUs.'' Flickering his hand, an Aurora Curtain manifests above him and shooting out of it is the DenLiner, ramming itself through incoming Mirror Monsters and Roidmudes.
''That's-'' Sougo begins to utter but Tsukasa isn't done, waving his arm to his side as a larger, horizontal Aurora Curtain manifests. This time, walking out of the portal, are 9 figures that shocked Sougo: The 9 first Heisei riders.
Tsukasa smirks as he's been gathering them for this purpose, figuring the Great Leader went to conquer their worlds. So he collected each one without any but Dragonic to notice and maintain their existence with his power. Hardly an issue.
''Huh? This place is…'' Yusuke is the first to speak up with a look of amazement before immediately making a worrying face and taking back his precious excitement. ''Very, very dark.''
''This is like we're in another world again.'' Ryotaro points out the obvious, eyeing Tsukasa who nods.
''Calling for our help huh, Decade.'' Tendo proclaims in a taunt. Tsukasa smirks as he reminds them. ''You all owe me one.''
''That we do.'' Wataru responds with a smile, not forgetting that. Kenzaki then says, aware of the situation with an optimistic view. ''And we would have come too. After all, this Dark Decade is giving you a bad name and trying to conquer our worlds.''
''Also it's nice to see you again, boy.'' Hibiki tells Tsukasa, doing his cool wave hand gesture. Tsukasa just smirks, admitting the same.
Just then the group sees multiple Dark Riders shooting at the DenLiner and jumping out of it is Momotaros, about to shout something cool only to scream in panic and hits the ground, face forward with a grunt.
Everyone sweat drops while Ryotaro laughs nervously.
''Wait, Dark Riders are here too?'' Shinji utters with Tsukasa telling him. ''Won't be a problem, right?''
Shinji isn't a fan of fighting fellow riders but no; this is fine for him since they're the actual bad guys.
''Not a problem for us.'' Takumi responds firmly with Shoichi adding with a small smile. ''We'll handle them all while you fight the evil you, Tsukasa-san!''
Jumping out of the ground, Momotaros cracks his neck followed with a grunting pain as he shouts. ''Now get moving, passing moving whatever rider!''
Tsukasa smirks, nodding as he tells them. ''I leave the rest to your capable hands.'' He turns to Sougo, Layla and Jigglypuff. ''Let's go!''
Layla barks determinedly as well as Jigglypuff crying heroically. Wataru notices that girl Natsumi isn't with him and realizes why he's going ahead. He smiles sadly, reminded of Mio and he encourages Tsukasa to not lose. ''Tsukasa, good luck! Save her!''
Staggered for a moment, Tsukasa just raises his right arm to the side and gives him a thumbs up before he runs off with the others.
Wataru smiles as Hibiki hums, not following until Ryotaro whispers it to him and he laughs, getting it.
''Guess we'll have to give Tsukasa all the time he'll need then.'' Takumi proclaims, strapping on the Faiz Belt.
''At least Tsukasa can trust us now.'' Shoichi declares, doing his fighting arm pose as the Agito Belt manifests around his waist.
''Knowing him, he'll probably still say we owe him.'' Kenzaki proclaims, strapping on the Blay Buckle. Wataru actually snickers as Kivat flies around and he catches him, attaching him around his chained belt.
''Can't be helped.'' Tendo proclaims as the Kabuto Zecter flies downward and he catches it, soon quoting something new. ''My grandmother said this: The true victor in battle is the one whose resolute is grander.''
''Fine quote.'' Hibiki agrees with him, pulling out his fork shaped Henshin Onsa. ''Then it's up to us to make sure the young man wins then.''
''And he's counting on us so let's all give it our best!'' Shinji expresses, pulling out the Ryuki Card Deck and aims it at a window's reflection, manifesting his belt.
Ryotaro nods as Momotaros gets excited and enters his partner's body, taking full control. M-Ryotaro cracks his knuckles, declaring serious as he puts on the Den-O Belt. ''Time to kick some ass!''
''Let's go, everyone!'' Yusuke proclaims, doing his own arm battle pose as the Arcle belt manifests around his waist as he gazes at the enemy. ''We won't let the enemy destroy any more smiles or hope!''
Everyone all agree as they soon charge forward with Yusuke in the lead
''Chou!'' Yusuke begins to shout before everyone but Hibiki declares loudly. ''Henshin!''
Soon they all glow and emerge in their Ride forms, clashing against the numerous monsters.
Ryuki, wielding his sword and hand gauntlet weapon, slashes or blasts away multiple monsters.
Hibiki pounces at multiple monsters with his agility and swinging his drum stick weapons, shooting out flames that consume multiple targets.
Agito, in his Storm Form, slashes down multiple monsters with rapid body spin.
Faiz twists his wrist before coming at a bunch of monsters with swift kicks and followed by an Exceed Charge punch with the Faiz Knuckle, blasting a bunch of monsters backwards.
''Let's go, let's go, LET'S GO!'' Ramming up his arm with the DenGasher sword form, Den-O charges at a bunch of monsters, slashing them down with no mercy before he clashes weapons against Yuuki Skull Form. Den-O snickers as he swings at the evil Rider who swings back, both parrying the other's strong swings as sparks fly out of their weapons.
Kiva clashes kicks against Dark Kiva, sparks flying from their grinding legs as they resume kicking harder and faster.
Blade swings his weapon at Glaive who counters with his, sparks fly out as they try to out slash the other.
In Clock Up speed, both Kabuto and Caucasus clash around the battlefield like blurs, clashing fists along the way.
Kuuga in his Rising Mighty form and Dark Kuuga collide fists, a burst of their power against each other so much so that multiple monsters are vaporized by their sheer power.
Jigglypuff sweat drops, watching the fights happening behind them. She snaps out as Natsumi needs them to-
''That was a clever trick you did, Decade.'' Tsukasa and group stop in their tracks as Apollogeist, already in his monster form, stands in their way from entering the castle. ''But it won't do you any good. You will die here before you get to see the Great Leader.'' He proclaims, aiming his sword at them.
Tsukasa glares, about to say something but Sougo beats it to him. ''That won't happen because Tsukasa has fought and made many connections, something your leader can ever understand!'' He eyes Tsukasa and declares confidently. ''That's why we'll best you and save our friend!''
Apollogeist scoffs at his nonsense.
''Change of heart that quickly huh?'' Tsukasa taunts Sougo who smiles and tells him. ''Natsumi means a lot to me too, Tsukasa.'' He then becomes serious, reminding him of their main mission. ''But without the full power of all the Riders, you'll die.''
''… I won't as long as we fight together.'' Tsukasa, however, protests as he walks up beside him. Sougo smiles as he pulls out his Ridewatch and presses on its button. ''ZI-O!''
''Let's go, Tsukasa!'' Sougo proclaims strongly with Tsukasa strapping on his Decadriver and holds up a Rider Card. Sougo slides his watch onto his Ziku Driver before tapping on the top.
''Henshin!'' Both shout in unity as Tsukasa thrusts his card and pushes the levers of his belt forward while Sougo twirls his driver as a clock.
''RIDER TIME!'' The Ziku Driver announces as Sougo begins to transform. ''KAMEN~RIDER! ZI-O~!''
''KAMEN RIDE! DECADE!'' The Decadriver announces as Tsukasa transforms into his rider form.
Zi-O does his L finger pose while Decade wipes his hands before the two charge at the villain. Apollogeist thrusts his blade at the two who dodge it and immediately kicks him hard across the face or chest, launching him backwards.
''Damn pest!'' Apollogeist growls as he comes swinging his sword only to get intercepted by Absol's horn, coated in Night Shade. ''Absol!''
''Jiggly!'' He turns as he's hit across the side of his body by Jiggly's Double-Edge, crashing into the wall.
Decade scoffs, giving them a thumb up for their help.
Apollogeist grunts, pulling himself up weakly from the wall. He breathes, gazing at the four. No, he cannot lose again. He's already failed his leader and he will not fail him any longer.
''I…'' Standing up straight, Apollogeist grunts angrily as he raises his sword forward. ''I refuse to lose to mere bugs! My Great Leader won't forgive me and neither will I if I lose again!'' He comes charging only for Decade to thrust a card into his belt.
''ATTACK RIDE! BARRIER!'' The Decadriver announces as a magenta colored barrier manifests and blocks Apollogeist's thrusting sword, sparks flying out before he's pushed back.
Zi-O looks at Decade, admitting he's reckless and egoistic but his heart is always in the right place, fighting for others.
''… Do you know how much I need you to become strong, Tsukasa?'' Zi-O asks Decade who looks back at him with a sad voice. ''I wasn't able to do anything when I lost those closest to me and realized one must become strong to never waver or fall. To never feel like a failure.''
This confuses Apollogeist, about to say something but then Zi-O then asks Decade honestly. ''If anyone understands that, it's you. Because you also lost people you loved and through your resolve; you protect the ones you now love the most.''
''… I do.'' Decade responds faithfully, having gone through a lot with him and even though he irritates his attitude; he can call him a friend. ''I never liked you at first but now I can call you my friend, Sougo.''
Zi-O chuckles a bit before he says with a firm voice. ''Dark Decade plans to use your power to conquer all rules.'' He clenches his right hand, declaring proudly. ''That's why we'll stop him, together! That is what us Riders are here for; to protect that future!''
Decade looks at him before facing forward and nods. Suddenly the Ride Booker glows as multiple cards shoot out and Decade catches them. All of them are blank but the Ride Form Card which Zi-O instructs. ''Use it, Tsukasa!''
He nods, already ahead of him as he thrusts the card into his belt.
''FINAL FORM RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Zi-O moves in front of him, showing his back. Decade snickers as he warns him. ''This might tickle.'' He shoves his hands in as Zi-O gasps and begins to glow. His body begins to fold and reshape until it becomes a sword that resembles the Saikyo Girade but has the clock guard and grip of the RideHeisaber; its colors matching Zi-O's. ''ZI-O!''
Apollogeist growls as he comes at him with a precise sword slash that Decade parries almost instantly, actually able to see a few seconds into the future. Apollogeist swings again only to be blocked by Decade before he even gets the chance to swing. Apollogeist panics, trying again and again but Decade reflects and parries each swing before he could even swing.
This irritates the monster, coming at him but Decade quickly twirls the clock arrow of the clock face of the weapon, spinning it counter clockwise, and presses the trigger. Time suddenly starts rewinding as Apollogeist suddenly moves backwards before he could make his swing and instead gets slash by Decade, over and over as multiple sparks fly out before he's pushed backwards.
''T-this isn't possible.'' Apollogeist utters in dismay with Decade stating the obvious. ''We both know this was coming.'' He holds up a Rider Card, tapping on it twice before he dunks it into his belt.
''FINAL ATTACK RIDE!'' The Decadriver announces as Decade holds the sword with both hands as a massively long beam of magenta colored energy ignites through the blade before Decade swings and slashes through Apollogeist, actually sending him into the air before Decade turns his back. ''ZI-O!''
''DAMN YOU, DECA-'' Apollogeist screams out before he suddenly glows and consumes in a powerful explosion that blows up the side of the large castle, leaving a hole in that corner.
''You're no Narutaki but you were fun though, Apollogeist.'' Decade comments, actually going to miss him. He tosses the sword as it converts back to Zi-O, slightly shaken up but okay.
''Happy?'' Decade asks him as Zi-O looks at him, almost observing him and lets out a sigh. ''… No. You still haven't gotten that power yet.''
This confuses Layla, looking at Decade. The magenta rider doesn't say a thing, pulling out his Ride Booker and looks through his cards and indeed all but the Form Ride Cards of the Neo Heisei Riders are all still blank.
''I don't understand. It should have worked once you obtain and use all of the Neo Heisei Rider powers.'' Zi-O expresses with grim concern. Decade doesn't say anything, looking at the cards and he soon realizes what the problem is but he doesn't say it; that can be a surprise.
''Regardless, we'll figure it out later.'' Decade just tells him as he faces back to the front of the castle. ''Natsumikan is waiting for us.''
''Absol!'' Layla barks in agreement with Jigglypuff getting determined. ''Jiggly!'' The 3 run off inside the castle.
Zi-O doesn't say anything before following right behind them.
Natsumi sighs, still sitting in her cell until the castle shakes from the battles going on outside. This startles her as she stands up from her seat and utters with concern. ''What's that noise?''
''Oh ho, seems he's come.'' She turns to Doctor Shinigami, spinning around on his chair. Natsumi startles, knowing who that could be. ''Tsukasa-kun?!''
''Decade is just full of surprises!'' The Fangire expresses eagerly, still spinning of amazement by the show of destruction he's brought to this world. Natsumi frowns as she tells him off. ''Of course he is! He's the hero who will always save the day!''
This causes the Fangire to stop spinning on his chair.
''Hero? What utter nonsense!'' He proclaims, standing up from his chair. ''Decade is a destroyer, not a hero.''
Natsumi frowns upsetly, hating to hear that from every person who ever called Tsukasa just a destroyer. She walks up to the ends of the barrier, banging on the surface as she yells at him. ''You're wrong!''
Doctor Shinigami turns to face her as she tells him off determinedly. ''Tsukasa, Decade; he's a hero! Because the Decadriver was created to be given to someone who truly can be a hero! That's what my Grandpa taught me!''
''… So I see…'' The monster utters with a calmer tone. Natsumi calms down, noticing this change of attitude. The madman scientist hums, floating in the air as he says. ''Just the mere thought that we both created our own Decadrivers and our intentions and yet…'' He stares at Natsumi. ''He and I are very alike yet different.''
Natsumi startles up a bit. He and her grandfather? What does he mean by that?
Tsukikage, partly damaged from the fight in the A.R. World of Build, is kneeling down before the Great Leader. Dark Tsukasa looks down at him coldly, sitting on his throne, as he questions him. ''Do you know why I summoned you?''
''…'' Tsukikage remains silent, too scared to reply. Smirking by his silence, the Great Leader speaks up. ''My sister has left after her scheme to betray me and takeover my kingdom failed for the last time.''
This surprises the butler, questioning him. ''You knew?''
The Great Leader smirks again, having always known about his sister's plot to overthrow him. It amused him like a game he can have fun with but sadly she's given up and ran away. Shame.
''I am her superior after all.'' He proclaims as his eyes gazes downward at him. ''I could have easily killed you but I spared you, brought you here when your world was destroyed and worked under me. And made it clear in giving you what you truly wanted: Revenge.''
Tsukikage staggers, wanting only one thing that day he saw the world before him was being erased. He thought he would die but then the Great Leader appeared before him and saved him. He told him everything about his old master and it enraged him. First was Mistress Sayo and now his world. He's never hated anyone so badly but him. The Great Leader offered him the chance to achieve his revenge by simply working under him. Even though they look alike; Tsukikage accepted his offer.
The Great Leader forms a sphere of energy in the palm of his hand.
''This will give you the edge to kill Decade.'' He begins to explain as he stares down at him. ''The question is: Will you follow my orders? Or must I kill you if you betray me again?''
''…'' Tsukikage remains silent, eyeing the sphere and wanting the power to kill Decade, even if he becomes the servant of another Decade.
''I…'' He begins to utter with hesitation but ultimately makes up his mind. ''I will not betray you.''
Cracking a smirk, the Great Leader throws the sphere through Tsukikage, gasping heavily as he feels the surge of power building across his body. It was otherworldly, so grand that he can- No, he will kill his former master and end him.
''Then go. And do not fail me again.'' He orders him, wanting to see how his upgraded powers will fare now. Tsukikage simply bows to him and stands up, turning his back and walks away.
The Great Leader watches him from afar as another figure is standing in the shadows.
''If he fails?'' That male figure questions his leader who just smirks, responding. ''Then I'll have to send you to deal with Decade…'' The figure cracks a chuckle, walking forward and reveals to be Daiki's older brother, wielding a dark colored Diendriver. ''Junichi.''
Author's Note: Time to clarify things:
1) This is now full on Fanfic territory, using elements from the Decade series from the TV Series, Movies and even Novels (which I already used so yea).
2) In the TV Series, the World of Negative was basically a world where the Riders were monsters and the monsters ruled the Earth. In this case, it's Dai-Shocker and that humanity are all loyal servants of Shocker.
3) Now I'm sure if not positive that Dragonic would have found the World of Negative without the other Sayo's help but again; that Sayo doing something kind showed that Tsukasa was able to reach out to her and became a better person.
4) I could have added a resistance group but I'm like "Would Dark Tsukasa allow such a group to exist in his utopia?". Yes, but things had to be cut. Now who could have been the leader for the resistance in the World of Negative… likely that world's version of Natsumi much like the World of Negative episodes but it would not have worked. You'll understand soon.
5) The return of the original 9 Heisei Riders. It's a nice reunion especially since they're all on Tsukasa's side now. This is done better than in the TV Show by the way, just small cameos but perfect.
6) I'll be honest; Dai-Shocker is dumb but I really liked Apollogeist. Good villain, wish he was done better in the TV Series. Shame we might NEVER see him again… yea… hmm...
7) Wonder what Tsukasa realized about unlocking his full powers? Hmm…
So we've reached the climax of the story. Just a few more chapters till the end.
Next week we will see more dreadful surprises. So see you then.
