Chapter 2

Tea Time

The first to speak was Tim the boy who delivers the jars of honey around the neighbourhood "Hello Mrs Oliver!" he nervously says, i smiled "Hello Tim and hello everyone! Thank you all for coming, please come in and please come in!". I watched as they all slowly made their way into my hallway, even more creaks from my wooden floorboards could be heard. Whispers from the teenagers were heard. I was beaming a friendly smile to all of them to hopefully make them all feel a bit for comfortable. None of them spoke a world directly to me until Dorothy-Ann politely asked how i was while i closed the front door. "Oh I am very well! How about you and everyone?" i ask. All my guests all said a variety of answers "Good thanks or thank you, Well or fine thanks (from Arnold)". I beam a warm smile to hopefully calm the nerves that i could sense from all of them before i simply ask them to follow me into my living room "Please follow me to the living room, you are all just in time for tea time! Pleas come this way!". I lead the way hoping my guests would follow "Well come along then!" i supply asked "Tea is going to get cold!".

I looked over my shoulder and thankfully they all began to follow. I then simply asked them all to take a seat on my variety of couches and lounge chairs near my fire place "So why are we really here?" I heard a voice cry. It was Carlos who was still standing. I just ignored him for…now "Please all sit down and i'll fetch some milk & homemade cookies!" I say to them as begin to make my way towards the kitchen "We will address that when i return in a minute!". Phoebe and Dorothy-Ann very kindly offered to help but i told them that i will be fine and to just chatter amongst themselves until i return. As i was in my kitchen, i could hear them whispering to one another as i was placing a plate of cookies and a jug of milk on a tray to take into them. "Ok Beatrice let's do this!" I simply say to myself as i made my way to let's just say face the music!

As i returned to the living room with the tray of milk and cookies, i begin to notice all my guests were in a huddle "Everything all right everyone?" I ask in concern while having a sneaky feeling knowing why. It wasn't long until they all turned to face me with very concerned and shaken looking faces. I look towards my mantle piece to find that the picture was missing. I gulped as i then looked towards the kids noticing that in the hands of Keesha was the picture. The room was silent and still. I slowly placed the tray on the coffee table with the pot of tea and untouched tea cups "Care for some tea?" I asked them nervously. "Not before you tell us who you really are!" I hear a serious sounding voice say. It came from Arnold. As i sit myself down, everyone had their eyes on me like they were now watching my every move. I begin to speak but only this time in a formal tone "Ok everyone there is a lot you need to know".
