Chapter 35

As we emerged from the cave, we were met by Adaman and Irida eagerly awaiting our arrival. Adaman urged us, "You'd better take that Red Chain up to the top of the mountain. That Pokemon threatening to descend on the peak any moment now...I think...it may be almighty Sinnoh. But all this has to be stopped, and you're the only one who can do it!"

Irida adds, "Almighty Sinnoh seems to be nearly here, but still the commander obstructs us..."

We all gaze toward the sanctuary, as we stroll toward the top to find Kamado wearing a suit of dark protection. Kamado sees our appearance and he says, "You again...I've heard that this Red Chain of yours will "bind the world." I assume that to bind the world means to hold the world together, keeping it as it's meant to be. A welcome idea...but can I truly put my faith in such tales?"

"You need to trust us, Commander Kamado," I say.

"Indeed, Commander, please! Be reasonable!" Irida adds. "I understand that you're bound to protect your people as commander of the Galaxy Expedition Team - I have the same duty toward my clan. But doubting Ash, Alice, and Rei like this...You're not just wrong - you're a fool!"

"Irida?" Alice gasps.

Kamado brings down his head and says, "Perhaps you are right. But if I were to simply place my faith in these three, and that faith was to be betrayed, then how could I possibly face my people?"

"You may think you're the only one desperate to protect the people of Jubilife, but you're not!" Irida says. "Ash, Alice, and Rei are putting their lives on the line as well!"

Kamado suddenly outbursts, "Fine! Enough! Let fate decide what happens next! Whichever of us is stronger will prevail! Face me with your Pokemon, Ash, Alice, and Rei! Today we battle in earnest!"

I decide to battle since Alice just battled Beni, and Kamado conveys his Braviary while I go with Avalugg. Avalugg goes for the Ice Fang, yet Braviary figures out how to evade the assault and goes with Air Slash, causing a great deal of harm to Avalugg.

"Avalugg! Agile-style Ice Shard, then use Crunch!" I shout, and Avalugg uses both moves to get a great deal of harm to the Braviary.

"Esper Wing!" Kamado orders and it gets a basic hit on Avalugg, then it attempts to rehash it, just for Avalugg to evade the attack. Eventually, Avalugg takes Braviary out with a Mountain Gale.

Basculegion is my chosen Pokemon to battle against Kamado's Golem, which happens to be his second Pokemon.

The Stealth Rock attack by Golem results in sharp stones being scattered around Basculegion.I express my confidence, "Basculegion, I trust you and use Wave Crash!"

Basculegion lands a powerful hit on the Golem, dealing super-effective damage. However, Basculegion also suffers from a significant amount of recoil damage. Luckily, its increased speed allows it to dodge the Rock Slide attack. Taking advantage of the opportunity, Basculegion finishes off the Golem with a Shadow Ball.

Clefable is the third Pokemon, so I decide to switch to Sneasler for the battle. Unfortunately, Sneasler ends up taking a hefty amount of damage from Clefable's Calm Mind and Psychic attack.

"Sneasler, I understand that you're not very strong against it, but use Dire Claw!" I command. Surprisingly, Sneasler successfully poisons Clefable. Unfortunately, Sneasler gets knocked out in the process. As a result, I opt to switch to Pikachu for the battle.

With a swift Iron Tail, Pikachu takes down Clefable. The next opponent is Snorlax, who tries to use High Horsepower, but Pikachu evades the attack with ease.

Ash shouts, "Pikachu, use Rock Smash!" Pikachu follows the command and delivers a powerful attack that hits the mark. Snorlax retaliates with a devastating Giga Impact, dealing significant damage to Pikachu. However, Pikachu remains resilient and counters with a Thunderbolt, ultimately defeating the last Pokemon in the battle.

Kamado's eyes widen in astonishment as he accepts his defeat, and he lets out a sigh, "You truly are a force to be reckoned with..."

To the surprise of all, Kamado humbly kneels and utters, "Ash, Alice, and Rei...The fates have decided. I concede...And I apologize sincerely for doubting you."

"Commander Kamado, please don't do this to us..." Rei says as we're still in shock.

"I know I have no right to ask it of you any longer, but please use that strength of yours for the sake of the Galaxy Expedition Team - No! For the sake of the Celestica people and all the Pokemon living in Hisui." Kamado expresses.

"Don't you worry, Commander. We've got the Red Chain!" Adaman assures, lending a hand to help him stand.

I turn to my brother and one of my girlfriends, "Are you two ready?"

"More than ever," Alice replies to me.

"Let's do it." Rei nods.

As we ascend the stairs and enter the Temple, we are accompanied by fellow members. Our attention is drawn to the ten statues of the Noble Pokemon we have formed bonds with and fought alongside.

We finally make it to the summit, and Adaman shouts, "Come on! Now's the time! Use the Red Chain!"

Irida gasps in surprise, "W-wait...What...what is this?" as Alice inquires, "Hey Irida, what's the matter?"

"There's a voice in my head - no, in my...heart? It's speaking to me!" Irida exclaims before her eyes lose their sparkle and her voice drops to a lower pitch. "You hold...the Red Chain...Try to catch me, then!"

I let out a gasp, whispering to Rei, "Wait a minute... that voice... it sounded just like Palmer's."

Rei rubs his temples and exclaims, "Bits and pieces of this place are starting to come back to me now..."

"Whoa, Irida! Do you hear what you're saying? Catch you?" Adaman gives Irida a gentle shake to snap her out of it, and she responds, "A-almighty Sinnoh? I think almighty Sinnoh may be speaking to me! It's telling me..."

After that, Palmer's voice comes from her mouth and declares, "You hold...the Red Chain...Try to catch me, then! For the fight to come!"

Kamado hands over a few Ultra Balls to us and utters, "Take these."

We accept the Ultra Balls from Kamado before climbing the stairs. Suddenly, the ground trembles and a portal begins to form. Everyone struggles to maintain their balance, and we gaze into the portal, only to see the mighty Palkia, the Space Ruler, emerge.

I whisper "Palkia..." under my breath as I lift the Red Chain high above my head.

"Palkia! I hate to ask this of you, but we really need your help!" Suddenly, the Red Chain hovers in the air and begins to shape itself into a perfect circle, enveloping Palkia. Gradually, the intense energy emanating from the legendary Pokemon starts to subside.

To our astonishment, the Red Chain breaks apart upon hitting the ground. Alice questions, "Did it do the trick?"

Rei points out, "This Red chain is not the same as the one Cyrus used... However, I believe Palkia is somewhat soothed now. We just need to weaken it and seize the opportunity to capture it."

I inquire, "Are you certain that we will capture him?"

Rei responds, "What other options do we have? With my memories restored, I am fully aware of what lies ahead..."

Our Pokemon had a tough time battling against Palkia, but eventually, we succeeded in capturing it.

"He...caught it...right? He caught almighty Sinnoh!" Irida exclaimed in amazement.

"The Red Chain's been shattered, but...we've still got the Pokemon of the lakes to thank for getting this far!" Adaman adds.

"Oh, well done, Ash, Alice, and Rei. Masterfully handed!" We turn to see Professor Laventon and Akari also here with us.

"About the time you arrived here..." Alice mutters.

"I was watching the whole time as you battled and caught your way to a simply stunning victory." Laventon remarks, "You truly are the pride of the Survey Corps!"

Akari grins and proudly states, "Looks like I taught you well."

Rei mutters, "It's not finished yet..." Alice and I look at him with concern.

Irida exclaims, "Ah! I can hear almighty Sinnoh - no! It's...it's called Palkia! Mighty Palkia is speaking to me in my mind!"

Irida appears to be under Palkia's control once more, exclaiming, "Space-time grows chaotic...The power fails...The frenzied one...It comes now to fight! That is why I am here!"

"You're telling me there's ANOTHER one?!" Kamado exclaims. "But the Red Chain's smashed to bits! No way even Ash, Alice, and Rei could tackle another Pokemon as strong as the last one now!"

We find ourselves staring as another portal materializes. Rei exclaims, "Oh no, not again..."

Suddenly, a majestic dragon emerges from the portal and gracefully touches down before us. It lets out a deafening roar, causing me to whisper, "Dialga..."

Dialga lets out a mighty roar, leaving Alice to wonder, "So, what's our plan now?"

"All of you, we must vacate this-GAH! Forget the fancy talk! Book it! C'mon! We gotta make it back to the Summit Camp while we still can! We need to leave...before this other almighty Sinnoh decides it wants to fight us!" Kamado urges us to leave the place immediately.

Adaman exclaims, "But, Commander-!"

"We can't just leave it here!" Irida interjects.

"Ya dunce! Ya won't be any use to anybody if ya die up here on this mountain!" Kamado shouts. "Whatta ya waitin' for?! I'm tellin' ya, we gotta get gone!"

We clench our jaws slightly as we trail behind the group, making our way back to the Summit Camp

When we return to Summit Camp, Laventon exclaims, "Such dreadful power...It's certainly beyond our current capabilities to survey such a creature. I'm amazed you even managed to stay on your feet before it, Ash, Alice, and Rei! And did you notice the energy pouring out of the rift? It seems likely that a buildup of this same energy was what caused the strange lightning that threw the noble Pokemon into their frenzied states..."

Irida remarks, "So the two clans truly were following different almighty Sinnoh, but both were real...What a shocking turn of events...To say nothing of the shock of hearing the commander speak so differently!"

Kamado expresses, "I must apologize, from the bottom of my heart...To the both of you, as fellow leaders...You saw the truth that I could not. You never abandoned your trust in Ash, Alice, and Rei. And to you, Ash, Alice, and Rei...I acted on ill-considered presumptions and drove you from the Galaxy Expedition Team, forcing you three to face great hardship alone...And despite all that, you still strove to save all of Hisui!"

I say, "I gotta tell you, it's not only about Hisui, but it's also about the entire world. That's why we need everyone's support to put an end to it once and for all."

"Well, it's not like we could just sit back and ignore the space-time rift," Adaman emphasizes.

"And we understood, Commander, that you had reasons to act as you did," Irida affirms.

"Commander, might I suggest we return to the matter at hand? We've left things in quite a state up at the temple," Laventon proposes.

"That's the stuff. Mr. Professor! You'd rather face what's in front of us than dwell on the past, huh?" Adaman compliments. "Just what I'd expect from a real scientist!"

"A dependable attitude indeed." Kamado agrees. "Yes, let us move on. No need to speak any further about my rash actions. Not to mention my loss of composure...It seems that having Ash, Alice, and Rei about has been a good influence on all."

"That's only natural. Ash, Alice, and Rei are strong enough to defeat even this new opponent single-handedly!" Irida mentions.

"Whoa, whoa! Slow down! Did you forget that the Red Chain broke?" Adaman asks.

"We'll be all right - armed with the knowledge mighty Palkia imparted to me!" Irida assures.

"Palkia? The Pokemon that talked to you?" Adaman inquires.

"Yes! It told me its name - but that's not all. It also told me this...The stone of creation's beginning. The Chain of Red. The vessel of humankind's invention. Unite these three, and calm the chaos now disturbing the flow of time. And then, mighty Palkia must go with us back to the temple, it said."

"Well, that "chain of red" is in pieces now, but if little bits will do, I gathered those." Adaman reveals as he displays the pieces.

"And "the vessel of humankind's invention"...I daresay that might refer to a Poke Ball." Laventon speculates.

Adaman wonders, "That's got to be it! But what about that "stone of creation's beginning" part?"

"Lian might have some idea." Irida suggests. "He's knowledgeable about stones and minerals. He even goes digging for ore sometimes."

"Is that so? Then Warden Lian will be a fine resource to consult." Kamado agrees with a nod. "And what are your thoughts, Professor Laventon? Do you have any idea what this stone could be?"

Laventon ponders for a moment until a brilliant idea strikes him. "Oh! Upon my word, perhaps I do! Ash, Alice, and Rei! Could you lend me those plates you received from Wyrdeer and the others? The ones that Volo said had messages engraved upon them?"

Out of all my plates, I randomly selected one, and it seems like I ended up with the Earth Plate. "You mean this?"

Laventon gazes at the plate and exclaims, "Aha! Just as I remembered. Here on the back of the Earth Plate, it says...When the universe was created, its shards became this Plate. I think this may be a hint to what we need!"

"How do you mean?" Irida inquires.

"Don't you see? We must search for stone - or rather ore, I suppose - that shares the same material properties as these plates!" Laventon exclaims. "In fact. I believe that young Lian might know just where to find such a thing, as he said he'd been investigating it at Volo's urging."

"Now that you mention it, that Volo fellow's come around the Diamond settlement asking about those plates before, too." Adaman mutters.

"This seems like a lead worth following!" Irida grins.

"It's decided, then! Thus begins our search for the "stone of creation's beginning." Although the name is rather a mouthful, wouldn't you say? I propose we call it..."Origin Ore"!"

"Irida. May we ask for your clan's aid once more?" Kamado inquires.

"Of course! I'll call Lian to the Summit Camp at once," Irida responds as she hurries to do so.

As we find ourselves alone, I turn to Rei, addressing him, "Rei, or should I say, Dia. That was you from the past, right? What were you doing to create such a mess like that?"

Rei frowns, "My memories are returning. I was also in a frenzy like the nobles. I could only feel pain and nothing else..."

"Then can you tell us who caused you to be in a frenzy like that?" Alice asks.

"As much as I want to tell you now, I can't. You'll understand in the end," Rei replies, much to our frustration.

As the scene unfolds, Melli strides towards them and questions, "I waited as long as anyone could reasonably expect, but my invitation just never came. So I decided to honor you all with an unsolicited visit. Be glad and rejoice! Now, Adaman. I see all these other louts have their little tasks to be getting on with...But what of the great Melli? Where's my role in all this?"

Adaman sighs, "I'm your leader, Melli. Show a shred of respect, would you?"

"Fine! Whatever! Just hurry up and give me a job, great Leader Adaman! And make it a good one!" Melli retorts.

"You want a job? Fine. Your job is to support the others!" Adaman states. "All the other wardens are busy looking after their nobles and keeping the people of our clans from panicking. Take a hint!"

"Oh, Adaman. Oh, oh, oh, you silly, foolish boy. Don't you understand anything? Everyone has work they are suited to and work they are not. And, oh! Before I forget. It seems you weren't entirely useless after all, Galaxy Team grunts. Well done, you!" Melli remarks.

"Just don't call us that again..." Alice mutters in annoyance.

"Take this as a reward for your adorable efforts. Just my way of encouraging the little people," Melli says. "And you're all so little compared to me."

We struggle to contain our frustration as we accept his three Candy Truffles. Before we can linger, Irida and Lian finally arrive. Irida announces, "I've brought Lian."

Melli notices Lian and mutters, "Yeesh...That ugly hat suits you as poorly as this important role does. I don't like this at all. I should be the one consulted for my wisdom!"

"Hisui's ores and stones are her precious resource! Since I was the first to realize that fact, it's only natural that I should be the first consulted!" Lian folds his arms. "If you have a problem with it, perhaps you'd like to take it up with Kleavor in battle? With that bumbling ball of yours?"

Trying to stifle their laughter, we witness Melli's displeasure. "Ex-CUSE me?! That "bumbling ball" is more than capable of zapping both you and that ugly bug of yours all the way back to your stupidly oversized tree! Shall we prove it to you now?"

"Melli, give it a rest and play nice with the Pearl Clan folks for once, would you? Bigger things are at stake here!" Adaman interjects with a stern glare.

"But, Adaman!" Melli attempts to argue, "Everyone back home is all worked up because the Pearl Clan got to speak to almighty Sinnoh - or Palkia or whatever. Do you want them to hog all the glory?!"

Ignoring Melli's protests, Adaman turns to Lian, "Warden Lian. If you would?"

"Certainly!" Lian nods. "Then let us set out at once...We make for the Primeval Grotto!"

We nod in agreement as we all head toward the Primeval Grotto.

Here is a new chapter, and now Ash and the others have captured Palmer, but now Dialga is in a frenzy, how are they going to stop him? I hope you like this chapter.
