Loki's dreams

In the middle of a dark expanse there is a giant tree made up of many lines. The roots are dark and shaded, the branches glow a soft blue and keep growing. In the middle is the trunk, glowing a bright green, strong and thick.

Within the tangles of the trunk is a small black stone.
On this stone is a golden throne with a lone figure. He holds the different strands around him in his hands, seeming to give them his power.

This man has black hair and green eyes, he wears a long green cloak and a horned crown. This man is Loki and he is the god of dreams and guardian of the multiverse. To protect his friends and the possibility of free will, he now sits alone on his throne.

All his life he said he was destined for a throne and now he finally had one, though he lost what he wanted most, to not be alone.

Before he made the choice to sit here and save it all he had tried many other things. He slipped through time over and over and over. Just to find a way to save his friends and the timelines, but nothing worked.

Now he sits on his own and looks at the branches. It looks like Yggdrasil, the world tree from the stories. It might even be that he is the source of those stories. The man smiles sadly at that thought.

As Loki looks at the many timelines that weave around him, he looks for his friends. Sometimes they appear on one timeline or another, but he knows that most of the times they are at the TVA. Sadly, the TVA is outside of his purview, at least for now.

As time passes for Loki, he tries to see what he can do inside the timelines. Nothing big, just a small nudge. Let some wind blow, look at the dream of a child, whisper something in an animal's ear. Although it isn't much, he learns to control his powers even further.

After centuries of experimenting, but only about a year for his friends, Loki thinks he is ready to try something. He found that as the god of stories he can go into people's dreams and talk to them, as dreams are just stories made up by the mind. He mostly just looks at the dream from the background, influencing the dream to have a happy ending if possible.

He learned he could talk to the dreamer and change the dream when he intervened in a nightmare. The lady he had been visiting normally dreamed of nice walks in the park, looking at the sunset and reading a book. This time she staid to long and got attacked by a man. In the real world she had escaped, but in the dreamworld she wasn't fast enough, and the attacker got to her. Loki knew she was safe, but he still stopped the attacker in her dream. After that he talked with her, gave her hope that everything would be okay.

Now that Loki had control over dreamwalking as he called it, it was time to see his friends.
