Bella and Helan Swan move to Forks and meet a strange family.

Chapter 1

Helen Swan looked out the window of the police cruiser. She was in the back because her sister Bella was in the front with their father Charlie who was driving.

Charlie Swan was the chief of police for the small town of Forks Washington. Bella and Helen used to visit every summer until a few years ago when Charlie began to come spend a few weeks every summer to be with them in Phoenix.

The girl's mother Renee had remarried so they decided to come live with their father until they finished high school.

Bella hated the constant rain and cloud cover of Forks. Helen didn't like the small town where there seemed to be nothing to do. Helen and Bella were identical. Bella was older than Helen by 8 minutes. They both were very smart. Bella was very shy, and Helen was more outgoing. They both were a bit clumsy. Helen was a bit more into fashion then Bella was. She liked to dress more feminine and wore makeup more than Bella. Bella was a book worm where Helen was a musician. She played violin and she was rather good at it.

The girls agreed that it was better for Renee their mother that they go live with Charlie, and it would be good for Charlie too and two years really wasn't that long until they could go away to college. Bella wanted to become a teacher like their mother only she would teach college age. Helen wanted to become a professional violinist.

When they got to the house Charlie helped the girls bring their bags up to their shared room it was barely big enough for the two twin beds. Charlie got matching bedding for the twins.

He asked "you two like purple, don't you? The sales lady picked it out."

Bella just looked at him and Helen said "purple is cool dad."

Charlie said "great I will leave you to unpack. We will go to the diner for dinner."

Bella said "great."

Charlie left and the girls unpacked their bags.

Charlie had bought the girls a truck to share it was old but Bella loved it and Helen thought it was alright.

When they went to the diner Helen again rode in the back of the cruiser Bella was self-conscious about riding in the cruiser and Helen didn't mind.

They all had berry cobbler for dessert before going home.

The next morning Helen let Bella drive them to school they went to the office first to get their schedules and their locker assignments then they went to park in the student parking lot.

When they entered the school a boy with black hair approached them said "Isabella and Helen Swan right. I'm Eric I'm the eyes and ears of this place."

Bella said shyly "it is just Bella."

Eric said "we are going to do a cover on the two of you."

Bella begged him "No please don't really you don't have to do that."

Eric could see her panic and said "no problem."

Helen asked "Eric could you point us in the right direction to our first class. We both have English first period."

Helen showed her schedule to Eric and he happily showed the two of them to their first class.

Helen usually took the lead when it came to social interactions. Bella was always grateful to her.

Helen and Bella had the first two classes together, but they had different classes after that.

They met together again at lunch. Eric waved them over to his table with his friends Eric introduced everyone.

When some amazingly attractive students came in to the cafeteria it was Jessica and Angela that told the girls who they were Jessica said "those are the Cullen's."

Angela said "they are Doctor and Mrs. Cullen's foster kids. They moved down here a couple years ago from Alaska. They kind of keep to themselves."

Jessica said "yeah because they are together. Like together, together. I don't even know if that is legal."

Angela said "Jess they aren't actually related."

Jessica said "Yeah but they live together it is weird."

Helen asked "what are their names?"

Jessica said "the blonde girl with the big guy are Rosalie Hale and Emmett Cullen. The little dark haired girl is Alice Cullen and the guy that looks like he is in pain is Jasper Hale."

A tall Bronze haired boy came in the door Bella asked "Who is that?"

Jessica said "that is Edward Cullen. Gorgeous obviously but no one is good enough for him so don't waste your time."

Bella said "I wasn't planning on it."

Helen said "they sure are pretty to look at."

Jessica said "they are weird though."

Helen said "clearly they can't have everything."

Bella asked "how was orchestra."

Helen said "I don't have it until 6th period. But I would imagine that it is small in a school this size."

Angela said "I am in orchestra too I play the flute. What do you play?"

Helen said "I play violin. So what is the orchestra like?"

Angela said "I guess we are about average for a high school orchestra. You missed our Christmas performance our next performance will be in April. We aren't very big but we try hard."

Helen was sitting so she could see the Cullen's and she was surprised to find that Edward kept looking their way he was particularly staring at Bella but he looked at her too. Helen didn't let Bella know it would just make her self conscious but clearly Edward Cullen was curious about the new girls just like everyone else was. He could pretend to be above everyone else but Helen knew otherwise. He was curious.

Helen went through her classes and met Bella at the office they had to turn in their forms.

Bella looked preoccupied Helen asked "are you alright."

Bella said "I'm fine lets get home."

Bella didn't even ask if Helen wanted to drive or not she drove them home.

Helen went right to their room and practiced her violin then did homework and Bella did her homework down stairs and then started dinner. Bella was the better cook then Helen but they normally would take turns with the household chores they planned on doing the same thing now that they were living with Charlie.

Helen came down stairs and set the table and Bella brought her books upstairs. Charlie came home just as dinner was ready. He hadn't expected the girls to be so domestically talented. But he had to admit it was nice to have dinner ready when he got home.

Bella didn't say much over dinner but she wasn't much of a talker Helen let Charlie know about their day how they had made some friends and everyone was very friendly.

Helen cleaned up the dishes after dinner.

The next morning Bella was anxious to get to school though she didn't tell Helen why. She seemed disappointed once they arrived.

As the days passed Helen and Bella got in a schedule of keeping the house clean and who would do the cooking so they would have enough time for homework.

Chapter 2

Monday evening the rain turned to ice on Tuesday morning Helen woke up with a cold she felt sick enough that she stayed home for the day. Bella went to school and Charlie went to work by late morning Bella came home. Helen was laying on the couch watching soap operas. With tissues scattered around her.

Helen asked "what are you doing home?"

Bella said "it is nothing."

Charlie said "it wasn't nothing you sister was in a car accident."

Helen asked "are you alright Bella?"

Bella went to Helen and said "I'm fine but you look flushed."

Bella felt Helen's forehead and said "You are hot I bet you are running a fever."

Helen smiled and said "It is just a cold. I just need some rest and I will be fine."

Bella said "I'll make you some chicken soup."

Charlie said "I have to get back to work you girls take care of yourselves."

Charlie left Helen asked "alright Charlie is gone you can tell me what really happened."

Bella had told Edward she wasn't going to tell anyone of course that didn't include Helen. Helen was her twin she had no secrets from her but then again the truth seemed so unbelievable. If she even were to say it out loud it would sound unbelievable."

Helen said "it can't be so bad that you can't tell me. Was it an accident?"

Bella said "Tyler's van went out of control he skidded on the ice. It was coming straight for me. It would have killed me but Edward was suddenly by myside. He pushed the van out of the way. His hand left a dent."

Helen was simply looking at her sister Bella said "you don't believe me."

Helen shook her head and said "actually I think I do. You wouldn't lie to me about this and there is no one else around that you would want to make up a story for. But Bella what you described it isn't humanly possible. That means Edward isn't human and if he isn't human then the rest of his family probably aren't either. And what ever they are does that mean they are dangerous and is it dangerous that you know they aren't human?"

Bella said "Helen you are on cold medication. You aren't thinking straight. There has to be a logical reason behind this."

Helen said "I will be happy to accept one that you can come up with. Until then I think we should keep this to ourselves. If you do find out what is going on you have to tell me."

Bella said "alright, I'm going to go make you some soup then you are going to go to bed. You can't get well by watching tv."

Bella was always motherly toward Helen when she was sick. Some of Helen's earliest memories were being in a hospital. She had been diagnosed with Leukemia when she was 18 months old and she was in and out of hospitals until she was deemed cured when she was 6 years old. Bella was the reason she lived she had a bone marrow transplant from Bella. But Helen was always more susceptible to illness what would give anyone else just the sniffles would put Helen in bed for a week. Bella did have reason to worry.

After Bella and Helen had lunch Bella took some Tylenol and Helen took some more cold medicine and they both laid down for a nap.

Helen woke up alone in her room she felt much better but she was still stuffed up and when she stood up she was a bit dizzy but she didn't want to stay in bed she went down stairs by the time she made it to the kitchen where Bella was cooking dinner she had broke out into a sweat.

Bella looked at her as she sat down and asked "What are you doing up. I was going to bring you some more soup for your dinner."

Helen said "I wanted to help get dinner ready."

Bella said "No you are in no condition to help anyone. I made enchiladas that is too rich for you."

Helen said "it is just a cold Bella."

Bella said "a cold tonight could be pneumonia in the morning. I know you don't want to stay in bed but you need your rest to get well. Now go back to bed I will bring you up some soup and some tea in a little bit."

Helen went back to her room she was exhausted by the time she made it back to her bed.

Bella brought up some chicken soup and peppermint tea then she rubbed Vicks vapo rub on Helen's chest. Then she read to her from Weathering Heights until she fell back to sleep. Bella got ready for bed and went to sleep.

The next morning Helen was doing better but Bella felt she should stay home another day just to be safe. Charlie agreed with Bella so Helen stayed home.

When Bella got home she was fuming Helen asked "are you alright you look upset. Like you are angry with someone."

Bella said "it is Edward Cullen he said what happened was because of an adrenalin hush. That I can google it."

Helen said "I take it you don't believe him."

Bella shook her head and said "you weren't there if you had been you would know it wasn't something as simple as adrenalin."

Helen said "I believe you if you say it wasn't adrenalin then it wasn't. But what was it?"

Bella said "I don't know and it is bothering me to no end. Edward refuses to tell me."

As the days turned into weeks Edward avoided Bella in their only shared class he didn't speak to her unless absolutely necessary even though they were lab partners and sat next to each other. Bella believed he regretted saving her.

Helen tried not to bring up the Cullen's so not to upset Bella. But the truth was she was fascinated with them not just Edward but all of them she watched them at lunch trying not to be obvious about it but she had noticed that they never ate or drank anything they always threw away their food untouched and they seldom looked at each other directly even when they were talking to each other.

March 2nd Helen woke up with a bad cold again. Bella came home frustrated apparently Edward Cullen was irritating her again. The cold hung on for a whole week. That weekend Helen insisted that Bella go to La Push with their friends. Helen would stay home even though she was beginning to get cabin fever from being stuck at home for so long.

That Sunday Bella did some research on their computer. Helen was feeling better on Sunday but woke up with a fever and bad cough on Monday. The cold came back with full force. Bella was tempted to stay home and look after Helen on Tuesday but Helen insisted that she go dress shopping with their friends.

When Bella came home Tuesday evening Helen was asleep she was wheezing and she didn't look well. Three days later Helen was better enough to go to school.

Helen was surprised that Edward Cullen was picking them up that morning.

As the girls went to Edward's car Bella said "Edward this is my sister Helen. Helen this is Edward Cullen."

Helen smiled and said "it is nice to meet you Edward."

Edward opened the back door for Helen and said "the pleasure is all mine."

When they were on their way to school Helen asked "don't you usually drive your siblings to school?"

Edward said "yes but today they are finding other ways to school."

Bella asked "what do you mean other ways?"

Edward said "they are taking Rosalie's car. Her car is a bit more conspicuous then mine is."

Helen asked "do you always drive so fast?"

Edward smiled and said "no I usually drive much faster."

Helen giggled and said "I don't think Charlie would approve."

Bella smiled and said "He certainly wouldn't."

Edward asked "who is Charlie?"

Bella said "our father we call him dad to his face but when we talk about him to other people we tend to use his first name."

Helen said "it is different but we do the same thing with Renee we call her mom to her face but we call her Renee when we are talking to others."

Edward said "I seldom call Carlisle Dad and Esme mom. I usually use their first names. But it doesn't change how I care for them. We are family."

Helen asked "how did they come to adopt you."

Edward said "what seems like a very long time ago my parents died I was sick Carlisle was my doctor and he made me well and adopted me it wasn't long after he adopted me that he married Esme. The others came along after that."

Helen asked "so you were the first to make the family you have now."

Edward said "yes I was."

They pulled into the school parking lot they got out of the car Edward put his arm around Bella's shoulders and he was rather surprised when Helen slipped her hand into his she didn't flinch away at how cold he was she looked up at him and smiled.

He smiled down at her and they went into the school Edward walked them to their class Helen let go of his hand and went to her seat Bella stopped at the doorway to say goodbye to Edward then she found her seat.

At lunch Bella and Edward sat together and Helen sat with their friends. Edward left with Alice.

Chapter 3

Helen was a bit surprised to see their truck waiting for them in the parking lot.

Helen got in the truck and waited for Bella to get in too she asked "are you going to tell me what you know about Edward now? No one normal could have got our truck for us like this."

Bella smiled and said "you like him I can tell."

Helen asked "is he an alien?"

Bella laughed and said "No. You will never guess."

Helen asked "was he exposed to radiation and instead of making him really sick it made him super strong."

Bella said "that only happens in comic books you know radiation kills."

Helen asked "so what is it? He has told you hasn't he? I mean you are dating now aren't you? You would think he would tell you his secret."

Bella said "he did tell me but Helen it is secret I promised I wouldn't tell anyone."

Helen said "I'm not just anyone I'm your twin, come on Bella we never have secrets from each other."

Bella sighed and said "alright I'll tell you. Edward is a vampire. His whole family are vampires."

Helen asked "drinking blood kind of vampires?"

Bella said "they only hunt animals but there are others that hunt humans. We both smell very good to Edward more then the average human. He thinks it is both of us because we are identical twins so physically we are the same. He also can't hear our thoughts where he can hear everyone else's. He isn't sure why we both share that blockage for him but again he thinks it is because we are twins that it is both of us."

Helen said "wow vampires I never would have guessed that. I don't suppose people like us are suppose to know about them."

Bella said "I don't think so we can't tell anyone."

Helen said "who would believe us anyway. Is he going to make you like him?"

Bella shrugged and said "I don't know we haven't talked about it yet. He keeps telling me he is dangerous but I know he will never hurt me."

Helen said "he is too nice to be dangerous are you really going to Seattle tomorrow. I'm not sure I am up for a long drive yet. In fact I'm pretty tired just from being at school I think I will take a nap when we get home."

Bella said "I'm going to be with Edward tomorrow. But if you want me to cancel I will."

Helen said "No, You have fun with Edward I'm just tired I'm not sick I just need some rest. I have almost two weeks worth of homework to catch up on so I will be busy this weekend."

Helen laid down for a few hours and Bella fixed dinner.

The next morning after breakfast Edward and Bella left in the truck and Helen got to work on her homework.

Helen made dinner that evening but she went to bed early. When she woke in the middle of the night Edward was holding Bella while she was sleeping. Edward could have left before Helen noticed but he didn't want to let go of Bella.

Helen smiled at him and whispered softly so not to disturb Bella "don't let Charlie see you he will be upset if he finds out you were in our room all night. I have to pee."

Helen left the bedroom and used the bathroom she went back to bed she whispered "Good night Edward."

Edward smiled and whispered "good night Helen."

Chapter 4

When Helen woke up in the morning Edward was gone Helen still had a lot of homework to do. After dinner that evening Edward came to pick up Bella, Charlie was cleaning his guns.

Edward was very polite when meeting Charlie. Bella was very happy when they left. A few hours later when Bella returned apparently they must have had a fight because Bella was in a state that she wanted to leave.

Helen embraced Bella and said "I will come with you."

Bella firmly said "No! you stay here."

Helen let go of her and when Bella ran upstairs to pack her things Helen didn't follow her she knew something was wrong and it involved Edward and Bella didn't want her coming so it had to be dangerous. Bella opened the door and without a word left.

Helen embraced Charlie they both were hurting but Charlie had no idea the danger Bella was in Helen had some idea about it. She knew it involved vampires that was more then Charlie knew.

Helen waited a few hours before calling Bella's cell phone she was in her room.

Helen asked "can you tell me what happened Bella?"

Bella said "It was human hunting kind of vampires there was three of them now they are hunting me I had to go home because if they simply followed my scent it would have led them home."

Helen said "You and I smell the same and look the same. I don't suppose they would have stopped mid attack to find out if I am the right sister. Am I still in danger Bella?"

Bella said "try not to be alone they are less likely to attack if you are with people. It would be best if you don't leave the house unless you have to. But they are following me now so the danger should be minimum."

Helen asked "are you going to come home from this Bella or is this goodbye forever?"

Bella said nothing for a minute then said "I don't know. I will be in touch for as long as I can."

Helen hung up she wasn't an overly religious person in fact she could only remember going to church once for her grandmothers funeral but that night she got on her knees and prayed for her sisters safety. That she would be able to see her again.

It was late at night three days later when they received a call from Edward letting them know that Bella was in the hospital. But at least she was alive.

Helen and Charlie caught the first flight to Phoenix that they could.

Edward was at the hospital when they arrived Bella was still unconscious Helen went to Edward and hugged him then looked up at him and asked "is Bella going to be alright."

Edward said "come sit down she was hurt badly she fell down a flight of stairs and crashed through a window she is unconscious now but the doctors say she will be alright."

Helen sat down. Edward sat down next to her. Renee arrived that afternoon. Charlie had gone to get some coffee and Helen and Edward were sitting together both apparently asleep when Bella woke up.

Renee went to get Charlie Edward carefully got up so as not to wake Helen he went to Bella. Bella looked at her sleeping sister Edward said "she hasn't slept much in the past few days she has been worried about you. She doesn't seem to have any fear of me you mustn't have told her about me. Bella I can't let this happen again I have to leave."

Bella argued "No you can't leave me what are you saying."

Bella woke Helen who went to her side took hold of her hand and said "don't get upset Bella it is alright. You are going to be ok the doctors said so. It is my turn to take care of you."

Bella looked at her sister and said "You shouldn't be here you so easily get sick and hospitals are filled with sick people. What if you catch something that is serious?"

Helen smiled and said "you always worry about me. Will you tell me what really happened?"

Edward asked "what do you mean what really happened? You don't believe what I told you."

Helen said "even Bella isn't that clumsy. Charlie and Renee will be back any minute so now isn't the right time but when we can get some time alone will you tell me what happened?"

Bella said "yes I will tell you. We have never had secrets from each other and it is important that you know the truth."

Charlie and Renee returned.

Bella had to stay in the hospital for awhile Helen and Charlie had to return home for school and work. Renee stayed with Bella. Edward had to keep up appearances so he too returned to school. When Bella returned home Alice came over practically every day to help take care of Bella even though she had Helen to help her. Helen never complained in fact she and Alice became good friends too.

Bella told Helen what had happened in Phoenix. The human hunting vampire had tricked her to get away from Jasper and Alice by making her believe that he had Renee he had hurt her before Edward showed up to destroyed him.

Edward had been there when Bella had explained Helen asked "Vampires are very strong aren't they?"

Edward said "yes even the weakest of our kind is lethal to humans."

Helen asked "are all vampires pretty. All of your family is pretty."

Edward smiled and said "most are but not all. It depends on what they looked like as a human. Immortality increases the beauty but if you were ugly as a human you will only look average as a vampire."

Helen said "you must have been very handsome as a human."

Edward said "I suppose I was better then average."

Helen asked "are all vampires rich or is that just your family?"

Edward said "most vampires have no use for money they are nomads and they take whatever they need only those of us who keep a permanent home and have jobs tend to accumulate money. The longer you live the more money you make. I have been around for 109 years 87 of them as an immortal. I mostly spend my time as a student but I do work from time to time the money builds up over time. That is just my own money. The money we make as a family is much more. Alice plays the stock market with her gift she does very well."

Helen asked "Edward do you have a single brother?"

Edward chuckled and said "I do not."

Helen said "that is too bad I would like to be your sister."

Edward said "it is better that you find a relationship with a human then try to have a relationship with an immortal it is far to complicated."

Helen said "things seem to be working out for you and Bella."

Bella said "because we make it work."

Edward said "most immortals will only be interested in you as a meal. Which would be a shame because they would be missing out on knowing a wonderful person. You are wonderful Helen who ever you end up with will be a lucky man."

Helen said "I think you are wonderful too."

Chapter 5

Bella went to Prom with Edward Helen never did get a date but Alice brought over a dress for her when she brought over Bella's dress. Bella's was blue and Helen's was red. Bella didn't know she was going to prom until Edward showed up to pick her up. Tyler showed up at the door with the intent to pick up Bella. Edward informed him that while Bella would be going with him that Helen was without a date. Tyler happily agreed to take her to prom.

Helen and Bella got dressed and met the boys down stairs.

Tyler made sure everyone knew he was at the prom with Helen. Helen danced with all of her friends she embraced Alice and thanked her for the dress. Helen never kept the fact that the Cullen's were vampires from keeping her from showing affection to them if she wanted to hug Alice or Esme or Edward she did without a second thought. The others she wasn't as close to. Though she really liked Emmett and Jasper liked Helen because she was almost always happy. It was a struggle to be around her because she was human but her happiness made it worth the struggle.

Helen went to the Cullen house almost as often as Bella beside Bella Alice was her best friend.

Tyler brought Helen home Bella and Edward had left a long time before but Helen noticed a familiar Silver Volvo parked in front of the house. When Tyler pulled up he walked her to the door he leaned in to Helen when she went to say good bye.

She quickly backed up to the door and said "Tyler I had a great time but I don't feel that way for you."

Tyler grabbed her and pulled her close to him and said "come on baby you know you want to kiss me."

Helen said "let go of me Tyler I told you I don't like you that way."

Edward was at her side and said "it looks like it is time to say good night. Why don't I get the door for you."

Tyler let go of Helen and she said "Good night Tyler."

Tyler said "night."

Tyler left Helen looked up at Edward and said "thank you."

Edward said "no one is going to take liberties with you against your will while I'm around."

Helen smiled and said "I'll let you say good night to Bella."

Helen went inside Charlie was watching tv he asked "How was prom."

Helen said "it was a lot of fun."

Bella came in Helen said "I think Bella had a good time too."

Bella said "it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be."

Helen giggled and said "that is about as good as we can get from you. I'm going to get changed and get some hot chocolate would you like some Bella."

Bella smiled and said "that sounds perfect."

The girls got changed into their PJ's and Helen made the chocolate for the two of them. Like every other night Edward held Bella as she slept.

Helen couldn't sleep she whispered "Tyler wouldn't have hurt me would he have Edward?"

Edward said "Tyler is a hormonal teenager he wanted a good night kiss I can't say how far he would have gone to get it but I would never let anyone hurt you."

Helen said "Bella is very lucky to have you."

Not for the first time nor did she doubt would be the last she wished there could be two Edward Cullen's.

Chapter 6

Summer was great Emmett and Rosalie left for a world tour it was very rainy that summer Helen and Bella went to the Cullen's nearly everyday. But the summer like everything came to an end and they had to start school again. This time Bella and Edward had every class together.

Alice planned a birthday party for Bella and Helen at the Cullen house the evening of their birthday. Charlie bought pizza for dinner so the girls wouldn't have to cook.

The girls drove their truck to the Cullen's Edward answered the door he had them wait until Alice was ready for them Helen was looking at the art in the hall and noticed a painting that had 4 men standing on a balcony they were dressed like they were from the 1700's.

Helen said "that one looks like Carlisle."

Edward smiled and said "that is Carlisle that is when he stayed with the Volturi."

Bella asked "what are the Volturi?"

Edward said "the closest thing to royalty that we have. They are the makers and enforcers of our laws."

Helen asked "you have laws? I bet us knowing about you goes against one of them."

Edward said "you are very smart it is important that no one finds out that you know about us. We don't have many laws but they all boil down to that humans never find out about us. Alice is ready for us."

They went into the living room there were candles everywhere and a beautiful cake Alice had given the girls dresses for the night. But there was still a few gifts to be given out.

Helen went down the stairs first and when she saw that Emmett and Rosalie were there she ran down the stairs and embraced Emmett then asked "How was Africa did you eat a lot of lions?"

Helen let go of Emmett and look over at Rosalie and said "Hi Rosalie did you have fun on your trip?"

Rosalie said "it was nice, Happy birthday."

Helen said "so far it has been a very happy birthday. Charlie bought us camara's and Renee sent us scrap books so we can document our senior year. This afternoon we were able to talk to Renee she is doing great with Phil."

Emmett said "good to hear."

Alice took a picture of Bella and Edward.

Then she said "Helen come here so I can get a picture of the two of you together."

Helen went to where Bella was put her arms around her and smiled Alice took a picture.

Alice handed Bella a large wrapped box but it was very light she said "this is for both of you from Emmett."

Emmett said "it is a new sound system for your truck I already installed it."

Helen smiled and said "thank you Em."

Bella said "thanks."

Alice handed two boxes to Rosalie she handed them over to the twins and said "they are watches Alice picked them out."

Bella nodded and didn't bother opening it but Helen opened hers and put it on it was gold with a mother of pearl face.

She said "thank you Rosalie it is very nice."

Alice handed Bella the last gift and said "this is from Carlisle and Esme it is for both of you."

Bella went to open it and got a papercut that produced a single drop of blood.

Jasper lost control and Edward over estimated the strength he used to push Bella and Helen behind him to protect them throwing Bella into Helen and Helen into the crystal wear cutting her arm badly Helen looked up from the floor next to Bella blood pouring down her arm as the family tried to control Jasper. Carlisle was at Helen's side as the others got Jasper outside.

Helen had tears in her eyes from fear she said "he wanted to kill me."

Carlisle said "we would never let that happen. Come on get up I will fix up your arm."

Carlisle sent Edward out to console Jasper Alice got Carlisle's bag for him he helped Helen up on the table and treated her arm Helen asked "are you ok Bella."

Bella said "yeah I'm sorry I started this it escaladed rather quickly."

Helen said "it's the disadvantage of having vampires for friends. Jasper is going to feel terrible about losing control isn't he."

Carlisle said "he will be upset with himself undoubtedly but nothing really terrible happened did it."

Helen shook her head and said "Nothing a few stitches won't fix."

Edward drove the girls home Helen went inside to give Edward and Bella time alone. Bella wasn't outside for long before coming in.

Charlie noticed Helen's bandaged arm and asked "what happened?"

Helen said "I fell and cut my arm it is fine Carlisle bandaged me up I got a few stitches. We got some good presents. Rosalie gave me this nice watch. She gave Bella one too. Emmett gave us a new sound system for the truck. Alice gave us the dresses. I'm tired I think I'll go to bed. I feel a little light headed."

Charlie asked "you aren't coming down with something again are you?"

Helen said "I hope not it seems like I am always sick."

Charlie said "if you end up with a fever you aren't going to school."

Helen said "Yes sir I will remember."

Helen went up to her room she was getting changed when Bella came in she said "Edward is upset."

Helen said "he is a worrier is all he will be fine once he has time to process what happened."

Chapter 7

The next morning Helen woke up with a fever and a head ache and feeling weak. It was a sunny day so Edward wasn't at school.

The next few days Edward stayed distant Helen stayed sick Bella was kept busy taking care of the house and Helen and working on her scrap book.

Friday Bella went missing Helen was worried when she found out that the Cullen's had left town Helen was sure Bella wouldn't have left without telling her she was leaving first.

Charlie got a tracking party together they were out side of the house.

Charlie said "Helen you should go inside you aren't going to help anyone by getting more sick."

Helen said "let me know when you find her."

Charlie said "I promise but go inside so I don't have to worry about you too."

Helen went inside she made herself some tea she was sipping on it when Charlie came in carrying Bella she was wet and in some form of shock. Charlie carried her up to the girls room and put her down on her bed. Helen helped Bella get undressed and put some clean warm PJ's on then made her some soup and tea. She spoon fed Bella.

After she was done with the soup. Bella looked her sister in the eye and said "he is gone."

Helen said "Harry Clearwater said all of the Cullen's left. I worried you had left too."

Bella said "He doesn't want me."

Helen said "I'm sure that isn't true he will come back for you. I truly believe that Bella."

Bella said "No he is gone forever."

Bella rolled over so she couldn't face her sister. Helen took the dishes down to the kitchen.

Charlie was talking with Billy in the kitchen Jacob asked "How is Bella?"

Helen put the dishes in the sink and said "she isn't sick or injured but she isn't well. She is in a bit of shock. She thought she and Edward would be together forever. She didn't expect he would leave her life so suddenly. She is in emotional pain right now. Only time will heal that kind of pain. At least that is how soap operas make it seem. I don't know how long it will take in real life. I will help Bella as much as she needs me too."

Charlie said "Renee has offered to come and help out."

Helen said "Mom coming will make mom feel better not Bella. Can I make you guys something to eat?"

Jacob said "I am kind of hungry."

Billy said "you don't have to go to any trouble for us."

Helen said "it is no trouble. We have some chicken that needs to be cooked up. You can help us eat it up."

Helen got to cooking and after not too long they all were eating. After dinner Billy and Jacob left.

Renee did come but she went back home when she found that she wasn't much help Helen kept up house and Bella functioned in a zombie like state only doing what she had to in order to get by. Helen tried to keep positive but she too missed the Cullens after all it wasn't just Edward that left it was the whole family. Helen kept Bella company when she stopped hanging out with their friends. She couldn't get rid of her sister no matter how hard she tried.

Christmas was a rather depressing time with Bella still down It was January that Charlie said "that is it I am sending you girls to your mothers."

Bella said "No I want to stay I'm getting better really I am I'm going to have a girls night with Jessica and Helen."

Charlie said "Helen is sick again remember."

Bella said "well it will just be me and Jessica then."

Bella went to call Jessica and they made plans to go out on Friday night.

Helen was sick all weekend Bella spent time with Jacob.

Bella spent nearly all of her free time with Jacob. He came over a few times to study with Bella and have dinner.

In February Bella was going to go out to the movies with a big group but flu was running rampant through school and only Bella, Mike and Jacob ended up going.

Later that night Charlie took Helen to the hospital her flu had turned into pneumonia she was so bad that they admitted her for a few days.

Jacob was sick and when Bella called she was told he couldn't come to the phone.

Bella got sick for a few days too.

The doctors were concerned when they found out how often Helen was getting sick. They felt it wasn't normal so they ran some tests. They couldn't find anything specific that was causing her to be so sick but they felt that she had an immune deficiency that was why the slightest illness made her so sick.

March 11th Jacob showed up in the girls bedroom he was only wearing cut off shorts.

Helen smiled and said "Jacob you came to visit. I'm so lonely and board."

Jacob said "I came to see Bella actually."

Helen asked "do you want privacy?"

Bella said "you are not getting out of bed I told you about Edward so I might as well tell you about Jacob."

Helen asked "What about Jacob? Are you going to tell me he is hot because I already know that."

Jacob chuckled Bella said "Jacob is a werewolf."

Helen asked "really that is amazing will you change for me Jake."

Jacob said "your room is too small I'll end up breaking something I will show you some other time. But believe me I really do change into a wolf."

Helen asked "so have you been the one killing the hikers."

Bella said "that is Victoria you remember I told you about the nomad vampires well Victoria has been in the area."

Jacob said "I'm not the only werewolf and we don't kill humans the only thing we kill is vampires."

Helen asked "what about the Cullen's they lived here for three years and you didn't kill them."

Jacob said "we have a treaty we can't touch the Cullen's. I have to get going I just wanted to make sure you are alright."

Bella said "I'm fine."

Jacob left out the window.

All week Bella spent most of her time on the res and when she was home she was taking care of Helen.

Chapter 8

The 16th Alice showed up she found Helen home in her room working on homework, every Friday Bella would bring Helen's homework home for her and every Monday she would turn it in for her so she would be able to keep up with her classes. But she was missing a lot of school.

Helen ran to Alice and embraced her Alice pulled back and Helen noticed her eyes were black.

Helen said "Sorry I'm just so excited to see you. Are you back for good, is the family with you?"

Alice said "I came because I saw Bella jump off a cliff. She killed herself."

Helen said "I don't know what you saw but Bella would never do that. She has been very depressed since you all left but she would never kill herself. I'm sure of it."

They heard the door open and Alice left the room in a flash Helen went down stairs at a human speed. Bella saw her coming down and said "get back to bed."

Helen said "I'm tired of being in bed and I'm hungry. Charlie went to the Clearwater's they had some kind of emergency."

Bella said "Harry Clearwater died. He is probably helping Sue with the funeral arrangements. I will make you something to eat while you rest on the couch."

Alice asked "you are sick again?"

Helen went to the couch and said "it turns out I have an immune deficiency the slightest cold can send me to the hospital. I'm missing a lot of school. Bella brings home my homework for me. But I might not graduate I have missed so much school."

Alice had to go hunting she left while Bella made dinner.

Bella made up the coach for Alice Charlie came home he was surprised to see Alice. He sent Helen back up to bed after dinner. Bella fell asleep on the couch.

The next day Alice and the girls caught up on the news with the Cullen family and Alice learned what the Swans had been up to.

Alice asked Bella while she was making dinner and Helen was in her room "how bad is this immune Deficiency of Helen's."

Bella said "if we aren't careful it can kill her. She tries to keep positive but this is really getting the better of her. She takes her temperature every morning if it is elevated at all she can't go to school. She has to wear a mask in public. The slightest illness tends to send her to the hospital. The fact that she most likely won't graduate has really brought her down. Helen has always been more fragile then I have been but this is the first time I have really been afraid we are going to lose her. Even the Leukemia wasn't this bad."

The next evening Charlie was at Harry's funeral and Helen was in bed when Bella came in and started packing a bag.

Helen asked "are you going somewhere?"

Bella said "I have to go to Italy to keep Edward from killing himself."

Helen said "slap him for me when you see him for being stupid. I will hold down the fort while you are gone. Charlie isn't going to take this well."

Bella said "I will leave a note."

Helen quickly got out of bed and ran to the bathroom and got sick Bella stood in the doorway Helen looked at her and said "go save Edward me being sick is nothing new I promise I will be here when you get back."

Bella said "you better be alright."

Bella left with Alice they were gone for three days. Helen was not home when Bella got back. She was in the hospital again. Bella and Edward went to the hospital Charlie was by Helen's bedside she was intubated and in a medically induced coma.

Bella asked "what is it this time?"

Charlie said "they aren't sure the cause this time but she was having trouble breathing it got so bad they had to intubate her and they put her in a coma so she won't fight the intubation. What is he doing here?"

Edward said "Bella should get home and rest."

Bella said "I can't leave Helen."

Edward said "there is nothing you can do for her if you are exhausted. Both of you don't need to be sick."

Charlie said "go home Bella come back after you have rested."

Several days passed Carlisle returned to work and he examined Helen and reviewed her resent medical history and he came up with a solution to make Helen well.

Charlie and Bella were in Helen's hospital room Carlisle said "I believe I have discovered a solution to Helen's problem. She has nearly no immune system to speak of I believe a bone marrow transplant will give her a boost to her immune system. Bella you are her identical twin there for your blood will be a perfect match. Donating bone marrow is not an easy thing but if we don't do this the likelihood of Helen recovering is slim at best. If she does recover from this illness there is nothing that says the next illness won't take her."

Bella said "of course I will donate my bone marrow to her. I wish there was more I could do to help her."

Carlisle performed the procedure two days after it was done Helen was able to breath on her own again 10 days later she was able to go home. She seemed to be getting a little better everyday. By May she was back at school but it determined that she had missed too many days and she would have to repeat her senior year.

Chapter 9

The middle of May Edward convinced Bella to use her plane ticket that Esme and Carlisle had given her for her birthday to visit Renee. Bella only agreed if he used the companion ticket seeing as it was too soon since Helen had been sick to get on a plane.

That weekend Charlie spent most of his time at Sue's Helen didn't want to be alone at home and Alice told her that the family would be busy on Saturday night so Helen went with Charlie and had dinner with the Clearwater's on Saturday.

The next Monday Jacob showed up at school Helen ran to him and embraced him.

He smiled and said "hey Helen are you feeling alright."

Helen said "I'm doing prefect."

Bella said "Hey Jake what are you doing here."

Helen said "he came to see me."

Edward said "no he came to see if Bella was still human."

Helen said "Bella left town to see Renee not to be bitten by Edward. I'm going to go to class now but it sounds like the three of you need to talk about personal stuff."

Helen ran off to the school.

At the end of the day the truck was in the parking lot with the keys in it. Helen went to the Cullen's where Alice used her as a dummy for a dress she was making Bella. The twins were the same size.

Helen asked "what if Bella doesn't like it. I think it is very pretty."

Alice smiled and said "I'm making you one in green."

Helen hugged Alice and said "you are the best."

Esme even fixed dinner for Helen.

Helen got home just as Edward showed up at the door. By the time Helen got to the door Edward was inside and in their room. Apparently a strange vampire had been in their home and had left Charlie alive.

Helen and Bella returned to the Cullen's.

Helen asked "what is the likelihood it was a friend of yours?"

Edward said "I didn't recognize it's scent. It was a stranger."

Rosalie said "and a passerby wouldn't have left your father alive."

Jasper and Emmett came in and Jasper said "the scent vanished 5 miles from the house."

Helen asked amazed "you can fly?"

Edward couldn't help but smile and said "we can drive. He probably had a car."

Carlisle said "we'll take turns watching Bella's house."

Rosalie asked "another protection detail?"

Bella said "Rosalie is right it is too much. You can't watch for the intruder and Victoria and the Volturi and protect me and feed yourselves."

Edward said "I'm not going to leave you unprotected."

Bella said "I won't be unprotected. I have the wolves."

Helen said "Jacob likes Bella he will do anything for her."

Alice said "Bella isn't the only one that needs protecting Helen. You and Bella are identical that means you smell the same as well as look the same."

Helen said "Victoria isn't going to stop and ask if I'm the right sister right."

Bella said "I hadn't thought of that. I didn't think that my decisions would put you in danger."

Helen said "I might not be dating any of the Cullen's like you are Bella but I do know the truth about them. That breaks their laws and that puts me in danger."

Bella said "I hadn't thought of that either does that mean they have to change you too?"

Edward said "no one is going to force Helen to become like us."

Esme said "we know she can keep our secret."

Helen said "it would be wonderful to have you as a mother. To have all of you as a family. But I'm not ready to give up my family to have all of you."

Carlisle said "you don't have to give up anyone. Though I would love to have you as a daughter."

Helen said "it would be nice to have a doctor as a father you would know how to make me well every time I get sick."

Emmett asked "the bone marrow transplant is still working isn't it?"

Helen smiled and said "yes I'm healthy as a horse. Or at least as healthy as Bella."

Bella said "You should become a vampire Helen while you are still healthy once I'm changed I won't be able to give you my bone marrow anymore."

Helen asked "are you sure you aren't just saying that because you don't want to lose me when you become immortal like you are going to lose Charlie and Renee. We'll still have phone calls and email and the like and at least I will know the truth."

Bella didn't say anything but Helen knew leaving her behind was the hardest part of Bella becoming a vampire. It wasn't a part she liked to think about.

Over the next few days Bella was able to get the Cullen's and wolves to at least try to get along enough that the wolves would take over so the Cullen's could hunt.

While Bella spent time with Jacob when Edward went hunting Helen would have had no one but Jacob let Helen hang out with him and Bella. Helen ended up hanging out a lot with Billy. He taught her how to play poker and Helen took him grocery shopping she even took him to his doctor appointment. That way Rachel didn't have to miss any hours at work. She worked from home on her computer.

Chapter 10

June 3rd Bella and Helen attended the Bonfire on the head lands where they heard the Quileute legends. They learned about the third wife who sacrificed herself for the tribe.

Helen and Bella became aware of the trouble in Seattle as being a newborn army.

Alice decided to throw a graduation party mostly for Bella.

Bella broke her hand while punching Jacob's face because he kissed her against her will.

Helen slapped Jacob and said "you don't kiss anyone against their will least of all my sister."

Jacob said "it won't happen again."

Charlie said "you are right it won't. I never thought I would have to teach you how to punch someone without getting hurt Bella."

Edward took Bella home where Carlisle wrapped her hand.

Helen sat with Charlie and they both cheered loudly when Bella walked across the stage to get her diploma. Charlie took the girls out for dinner then he drove them to the Cullen's for the party. The girls helped get the house ready. By the time people started arriving Alice had the place looking like a dance club. With flashing lights and lively music Esme had a refreshment table that every one was enjoying.

Bella figured out that the intruder, Victoria and the activity in Seattle was all connected Alice had a vision that the Newborn Army was coming to them.

Jacob, Quil and Embry showed up at the party and they agreed to let Sam know about the army coming and they would fight along side the Cullen's.

Bella wanted to be there when the wolves and Cullen's would train to fight the Newborns it was about 3 am when Edward came to get Bella. Bella quietly shook Helen and whispered "Come on Helen we have to go now."

Helen looked at her phone then at her sister and whispered "it is 3 in the morning. Unlike our vampire friends who don't sleep I am human it is in the middle of the night I am going back to sleep now. Have fun doing whatever you and Edward are going to do."

Helen turned over and closed her eyes.

Edward smirked and softly said "she is safe enough tonight if she doesn't want to come it is alright."

Edward and Bella left. Helen was still asleep when Edward brought Bella home.

June 12th Alice came over and let Charlie know that she Bella and Helen would be spending a few days together while the rest of the family would be going camping.

The next night Bella, Helen and Edward were alone in the house Alice gave Helen instruction that she was to sleep in her room so Bella and Edward would be alone in his room.

Thursday Bella spread her scent all over the forest.

Helen, Bella and Edward would be staying in the mountains while the rest of the Cullen's and the wolves would be fighting the newborns.

Jacob and Jared showed up to carry the girls to the campsite that Edward set up.

Jared put Helen down she turned to him and smiled and said "thank you Jared."

Jared smiled and said "your welcome I hope this works I would hate to see you get hurt after all none of this is your fault."

Helen said "go spend time with Kim while you can."

Jared ran off Bella was with Edward he reached out to Helen as she shivered he said "come into the tent it is a little warmer in there."

Helen went to him and said "it is cold for late spring."

Edward said "Alice saw a storm coming in. I got some nice warm sleeping bags for you both."

Bella said "that sounds nice."

As the storm hit it felt like the tent was made out of tissue paper and the sleeping bags did little to help. They tried to conserve heat by putting the sleeping bags together. Edward was miserable because the girls were miserable there was nothing he could do to help them. Jacob came in and after some convincing Edward allowed him to get in the sleeping bag with the girls. It wasn't long before the girls were a sleep. Edward and Jacob talked about their feelings for Bella.

The next morning Helen woke up before Bella. Seth was there as his wolf. She started a camp fire to heat up some water and cook some food that Edward brought with him. Bella woke up and went to Edward they were talking when Jacob asked "you are going to marry him?"

Jacob ran off and Bella made Edward bring him back she talked with him Helen didn't say anything she just watched her sister interact with the two guys. Bella kissed Jacob passionately before he ran off she went to Edward she looked at him but couldn't bring herself to say anything.

Helen said "Bella breakfast is ready."

Bella went to her sister who served her up some food they ate and cleaned up when Seth whimpered Edward said "it is starting."

Then a few minutes later said "Jacob just arrived. He is good."

Then he looked worried "she is close I can hear her thoughts. Seth go."

Seth ran off the girls got behind Edward just as a male vampire showed up and Victoria jumped in a tree.

Edward said "Rylie you are wasting your time Victoria doesn't love you she changed you because you are from Forks. You know the area. She needed you to control her army she made it to get revenge from her real mate James. You mean nothing to her in fact she will be glad to be rid of you."

Victoria said "I love you there is no one else I told you about their mind tricks."

Edward said "I can read your thought that is how I know what she is thinking."

Victoria said "don't let him do this to us."

Rylie looked at Edward and said "you're dead."

He went to attack Edward but Seth attacked him removing his arm.

Victoria tried to run but Edward teased her about how she wanted him to know what she felt when he had destroyed James. She attacked Edward and they began to fight.

It looked like Rylie was winning against Seth and he joined in the fight against Edward Bella went to the ground at the base of a rock out crop she picked up a sharp rock and cut her arm the fresh blood ran down her arm and the three vampires looked her way Edward and Seth took advantage of the distraction. Seth tore apart Rylie and Edward tore off Victoria's head and then burn the body pieces.

Edward went to Bella tore her shirt to bandage her injured arm. Seth whimpered again Edward said "Alice needs us to go now. Seth will take you Helen?"

Seth ran into the brush and a few moments later came out as himself he picked up Helen and ran off without a word as Edward picked up Bella and ran off in the opposite direction.

Seth brought Helen to the Black home a short time after they arrived the pack arrived with Jacob who was injured Carlisle showed up and he began to rebreak his bones to set them properly. Bella pulled up in the truck.

Carlisle came out and talked with Billy a bit then turned to Bella and said "he is asking for you don't be long he needs his rest."

Bella went in to talk with Jacob. Helen got in the truck behind the wheel she doubted Bella was going to be in a condition to drive when she was ready to leave. She had to face facts she was in love with two men and she could only have one. No matter who she decided on she would be in pain for losing the other.

Bella got in the truck and Helen pulled away the tears fell as Helen drove home. Edward held Bella as she cried herself to sleep that night.

Chapter 11

The next day Bella told Alice she could throw the wedding she would be in charge of everything the wedding would be August 13th one month before the twins 19th birthday.

Edward and Bella told Charlie they were getting married he took it better then Helen thought he would but he made Bella tell Renee. Renee took it very well.

Everything was going perfectly except Jacob had run away Renee came with Phil a week before the wedding to help with the last minute details. The girls were happy to see their mother. Helen was one of the brides maids Alice was the other. The whole family was helping getting everything ready.

Everything was perfect until after Edward left from checking on Bella the night before the wedding she smiled and said what she should while he was there but as soon as he left Bella turned to Helen and said "I can't do it. I can't marry Edward. I can't become a vampire. I can't say good bye to everyone."

Helen asked "are you sure this isn't just wedding jitters?"

Bella said "No it is so much more then that. If I do this I will never see Jacob again. I can't live with that. I love him. I love him so much."

Helen asked "if we cancel the wedding what about the Volturi? They will kill you Bella and Edward, probably the whole Cullen family too. They might send someone to the wedding to make sure you are really getting married. We can't let that happen Bella."

Bella said "I know but I can't marry Edward."

Helen looked at her sister who was crying and said "there is only one answer. We have never done it before but we switch places. I will take your place and go through the wedding you take my place and be my brides maid so publicly everyone will see that Bella and Edward got married later we will reveal what we did. We will get the wedding annulled quietly and you can be with Jacob I'm sure he will come home soon."

Bella asked "you would do that for me?"

Helen said "of course I would. The real question is can we pull it off? Vampires notice things humans don't. Hopefully no one will notice until after the reception. We should get to sleep Alice will never forgive me if I have dark circles under my eyes."

Bella asked "you are sure about this Helen?"

Helen said "as sure as I can be."

The girls went to bed Bella and Helen were nervous the next morning to pull off their subterfuge. They both were rather quiet as Alice got them both ready even Rosalie helped get Helen's hair ready believing she was Bella. Renee and Charlie gave her a silver hair comb with sapphires that had once belonged to grandma Swan, Helens name sake. Rosalie helped put it in her hair. Alice had painted such a beautiful picture that no one questioned that Bella was really who she said she was.

Bella and Helen were ready for someone to expose them at any moment the whole time. But they got through getting ready and they got through the ceremony Helen said what she needed to and most importantly I do. The kiss, Helen was certain Edward would have noticed something different about her kiss but then again he might have chalked it up to nerves. After the ceremony was the reception and the line up of everyone wanting to congratulate the happy couple.

They got through the meal and the speeches Edward lead Helen to the side of the house where there was Jacob Helen embraced him. Edward gave them some space. Jacob twirled her around.

Helen said "I know you don't want to hear this but there is someone out there for you and someday you will have what I have right now."

Jacob said "Bella there will never be another you. This is how I will remember you rosy cheeks and two left feet and a heart beat."

Helen said "Remember me however you need to Jake. You will always be special to me. Even after my heart stops beating. But I am positive there is someone out there for you so don't stop looking."

Helen stepped out of his hold and Edward was at her side again Helen said "people might start wondering where we are."

She turned back to Jacob and said "Good bye Jake."

Edward led her away and Jacob ran off Edward and Helen danced for awhile then Alice insisted they had to get changed to leave to catch their flight. Edward did not let Bella or Helen know where he was taking her for their honeymoon.

As Helen was saying goodbye to Bella she whispered "Jacobs back."

Bella smiled and said "have fun wherever he is taking you."

Helen said "I will. Try not to worry. I'm going to be alright."

Chapter 12

Helen got in the car then Edward pulled away from the house. Helen fell asleep on the plane from Seattle to Texas and again from Texas to Rio but then she was wide awake when they drove through Rio de Janeiro from the taxi they went to a speed boat. That Edward drove to an island.

Edward said "it is called Isle Esme. It was a wedding gift from Carlisle. It is our vacation home."

Edward carried her over the threshold then put her down and went to get the luggage. Helen explored the house she ended up in a room decorated in white with a large bed. It brought to mind what Edward must be thinking now that they had reached their destination.

Edward put the luggage down went to Helen and asked "are you tired?"

Helen said "not really but I could use a few human minutes."

Edward smiled and asked "How about a swim."

Helen smiled and said "that sounds great."

Edward went out to the beach.

Helen found the bag with her toiletries she brushed her hair and teeth then shaved her legs she wasn't sure how far she was going to take this but it was Edward's wedding night she didn't want to disappoint him and she knew that Bella had been planning on having a traditional wedding night though Helen wasn't sure how safe that was. The fact was she was afraid of what was to come.

Helen couldn't find a bathing suit all she could find was lingerie she decided to go out to Edward nude.

Edward said "I promised we would try."

Edward picked her up kissed her and carried her into the house where he put her down in the bed.

Helen looked into his eyes and said "I trust you Edward."

They made love Helen fell asleep in Edward's arms.

Helen woke up alone in bed and there were lose feathers all over the bed.

Helen giggled and Edward showed up in the doorway he wasn't smiling Helen smiled at him and asked "where did the feathers come from."

Edward said "I bit a pillow. How badly are you hurt?"

Helen was confused and asked "what are you talking about I'm fine."

Edward shook his head and said "don't say you are fine. Come look in the mirror."

Helen got up and asked "what is wrong Edward?"

They went to the bathroom where Edward pointed out the bruises it was while he was pointing out the bruises that he noticed her wrist and the lack of a scar.

Helen said "Edward it is nothing I just bruise easily. I can't imagine things get better than last night. I know it is different for you."

Edward asked "you are worried I didn't enjoy myself? Last night was the greatest night of my life. But You are Helen aren't you?"

Helen said "I'm surprised it took you so long to figure it out."

Edward asked "why did you do it?"

Helen said "Bella said she couldn't marry you. That she can't become a vampire. If she canceled the wedding the Volturi might find out and they would come kill her and you and maybe even all of your family. The Volturi might have even sent someone to witness the wedding so Bella and I switched places we expected anyone to reveal us at any time. But everything went through without anyone saying anything. Last night I didn't want to ruin your wedding night. It was my first time Edward and it was wonderful."

Edward said "I enjoyed myself too. But Helen we can't keep going like this. You married me under Bella's name."

Helen sighed and said "I know I can't keep you. You're not really mine. We need to get the wedding annulled quietly so only the family will know. You and Bella need to talk about this in person but that doesn't mean we can't have a nice vacation together."

Edward said "I will take you on vacation another time we need to get this all sorted out."

Helen asked "will you really?"

Edward smiled and said "yes, a vacation more suited to you. You and Bella are very different after all."

Helen asked "Can we go to Vienna? Can we visit Mozart's home?"

Edward said "we can go anywhere you want but for now we have to go home. I'll call to make plans for our flight but we can't leave until after dark. Why don't you get dressed and I will make you some breakfast."

Helen asked "you know how to cook?"

Edward said "I have had a lot of years to learn many different skills."

Chapter 13

Helen got dressed and Edward made her an omelet. After breakfast they went snorkeling in the afternoon they went hiking then after dinner they headed back to the mainland they arrived at Twilight and went to the airport and caught a private plane back home.

Helen said "we'll have to come back to Rio another time it looks like it would be a lot of fun."

Edward said "there is so much of this world that I can show you."

Helen said "but first we have to clean up this mess with Bella right."

Edward said "yes you can't go on pretending to be each other. It will only make things more complicated. Have you called her yet?"

Helen said "I texted her and told her we are coming home. I didn't go into detail as to why but I'm sure she can guess."

Helen slept most of the way she was wide awake for the drive from Seattle to Forks. She called Bella on their way home so she could meet them at the Cullen's home.

Helen was surprised to see Charlie's cruiser outside the Cullen's home.

Edward parked and Helen waited for him to open the door for her something Bella rarely did.

Helen looked up at him and said "No one said anything about telling Charlie."

Edward put his arm around her and said "Charlie and Renee both have to know what the two of you did. You never know he might find it funny."

Helen sighed and said "I doubt it. I'm surprised you are taking it so well. The girl you love change her mind about marrying you and I took her place."

Edward said "just because I can control my emotions doesn't mean I'm not upset about what happened."

They went inside Helen was surprised to see not only Charlie but Renee and Phil too.

Helen looked at Bella who was sitting next to Charlie and said "You could have warned me that everyone was going to be here."

Bella said "switching places was your idea remember."

Helen said "it seemed like the right decision at the time."

Renee asked "how long did you think switching would last."

Helen said "I expected to be found out right away when that didn't happen I thought it would happen when Edward kissed me when that didn't happen I expected it at any time. But it wasn't until yesterday that Edward figured out who I was."

Charlie asked "so what do we do now?"

Helen asked "Bella are you still sure you don't want to marry Edward?"

Bella said "I'm not ready to marry anyone. Agreeing to marry Edward was a mistake. Our relationship is over."

Edward said "we will get the marriage annulled it will be fast and easy and only the families and close friends will have to know about it."

Bella said "I think that is best for everyone involved."

Helen looked at Edward and said "for what it is worth I liked being married to you even if it only lasted one day."

Edward said "someday you will marry someone you are in love with and not just because you are trying to get your sister out of a bind."

Both girls went home with Charlie Alice brought Bella's clothes over.

Alice was helping put the clothes in the girls small closet and shared dresser Helen asked "Are you going to call Jacob now that everyone knows about us."

Bella said "I want to hear about where Edward took you."

Helen said "it was beautiful Bella. It was a tropical island off of the coast of Rio. It is called Isle Esme. We went snorkeling and hiking and if we had more time I'm sure we would have done all of the touristy things in Rio but Edward felt we should get back right away. He promised to take me on a vacation some time something more suited towards me. I told him I would like to see Vienna it is so full of music."

Alice asked "did you tell Edward that you love him."

Helen smiled and said "Edward is in love with Bella and probably always will be."

Alice said "I still see Bella or at least someone who looks like Bella immortal and not significantly older than the two of you are right now. Weather Bella and Edward are or are not married doesn't change the fact that the Volturi will require Bella to become immortal."

Bella said "I don't want to become immortal anymore that should change what you see shouldn't it."

Alice said "it should but it hasn't."

Helen said "unless of course it hasn't been Bella you have been seeing all of this time. We are identical after all. Of course that would indicated Edward and I would become romantically involved. I like Edward very much and now that you aren't with him Bella I wouldn't mind starting a relationship with him. But would he be interested in me? Us switching on him like we did really hurt him I think. He doesn't show his pain much but I think he is really hurting."

Alice said "I know Edward well and I believe you are right he is hurting but if you give him enough time he might be able to love again."

Bella said "Edward is a vampire he has all the time in the world to get over his pain but Helen is human she gets older everyday."

Helen said "I'm not obsessed with age like you are Bella it doesn't matter to me if I'm a few years older then Edward. In fact I have no interest in becoming immortal at all."

Alice said "The person I have seen doesn't look any older then you are now. So which ever one of you becomes immortal it will be sometime soon."

There was a knock on the girls bedroom door Helen opened the door to reveal Jacob.

He looked at the girls he said "Your dad told my dad what happened."

Bella said "you should hate me for hurting you like I did."

Helen said "Alice and I are going to give you some privacy so the two of you can talk."

Helen grabbed her violin then took hold of Alice's hand and said "Lets go to your house I'll play for Esme I have written a new song I think she will like it."

Alice and Helen left.

Helen did play for Esme when she was done she sat on the sofa next to Edward.

He said "it was very nice."

Helen smiled and said "I'm glad you liked it I wrote it for you. Edward what are you going to do now?"

He asked "you mean once I annule the marriage?"

Helen said "Yes. Bella and Jacob are going to get together. I don't know what that means for Bella's future currently. I have to repeat my senior year. Renee wants me to move to Jacksonville but I think I want to stay in Forks. I was wondering if you might be going away to college or something. I don't know if she has told you but Alice still has visions of one of us becoming like you and we aren't much older then we are now. I don't know what that means but if she sees it doesn't that mean it is decided."

Edward said "I think I am going to go away to college I need a change of scenery I need to get some distance."

Helen asked "will the family go away too or is it just you this time?"

Esme said "we aren't ready to move yet."

Alice said "you won't lose us this time. I'm waiting on you to go to school."

Helen smiled and said "thanks Alice you don't have to do that."

Alice said "one more year is nothing. I have to stick around to see this vision through. I'm just as curious about it as you are."

Bella got a job she was planning on waiting for Jacob to finish school then the two of them would go to Washington State.

Chapter 14

Helen was due to start school the first week of September but she got sick on august 31st. But it was more then just throwing up her period was late and she could swear she could feel something moving in her and her stomach seemed to be a little bit bigger and it was firm.

Helen bought a pregnancy test and took it she was shocked when it turned out it was positive. She didn't know it was possible. Edward had already left to Dartmouth to set up his home. She was worried what Carlisle would want to do when he found out she was pregnant but she knew she couldn't do it alone.

She thought about what she was going to do Bella caught her getting sick that evening she asked "are you alright."

Helen rinsed out her mouth then took Bella in their room closed the door went to her dresser drawer and pulled out the pregnancy test.

Bella asked "is this a pregnancy test? Is it positive?"

Helen nodded Bella asked "Helen didn't you use protection?"

Helen said "We didn't know this could happen. Edward is the father Bella. It happened on our wedding night. This could be very bad. I can't hide this."

Bella said "we need to let Carlisle know. He might know something about this."

They went to the Cullen's.

After explaining Carlisle said "I have never heard this as a possibility but then again a sexual relationship between human female and immortal male has never happened before. I have no idea what this fetus will be like. It is likely that it could be life threatening to you. There are two possibilities that I can help you with you can terminate the pregnancy this will be the safest option for you or you can attempt to carry the fetus to full term. I will help you either way."

Helen asked "is there anyway we can learn more about it before I make up my mind?"

Carlisle said "I can do some testing. I can get an ultrasound machine that might give us a better understanding of what we are dealing with."

Carlisle took Helen's vitals everything was just fine.

Bella asked "are you going to tell Edward about this. He might want to have a say in this."

Helen said "I don't want to upset him he has been through so much I don't think we should tell him until we know a little more about it."

Bella asked "what are you going to tell Charlie?"

Helen said "I don't know I can't really tell him that I'm pregnant with a half vampire baby. I'm more worried about school."

Carlisle said "before you worry about anything lets find out more about what you are carrying."

Carlisle went to get the ultrasound machine Helen couldn't hold down any food.

They soon found out that the Ultrasound couldn't penetrate the uterus and neither could needles. As the days passed it was clear her belly was growing rather quickly.

Charlie noticed Helen was getting sick and she wasn't eating She spent her days at the Cullen's instead of going to school.

Helen was determined that she was going to give birth to her baby.

Bella told Jacob about what was happening he was worried about Helen.

On the 5th of September it was Helen's idea that the baby might be craving blood seeing as she couldn't hold down any food. Carlisle was willing to try anything to help her. Helen drank the blood carefully. She could no longer hide her belly and Carlisle told Charlie that Helen was sick and that it was for the best that she stay at his house. Charlie didn't really understand why Helen was staying at the Cullen's instead of being at the hospital. Carlisle told Charlie he and Bella had to stay away because Helen was contagious.

The blood made Helen strong but it also made the baby strong too. As the days passed the baby was breaking Helen's ribs.

Alice was the one who told Edward what was happening he came home on the 10th.

Edward was very worried for Helen he went to her and asked "what are you thinking? We need to get rid of this monster inside you."

Helen said "it isn't a monster it is just a baby. I know this seems scary but it isn't really it is a miracle. Soon we will have a baby you will be a father."

Edward said "Alice can't see your future. Do you realize what that means."

Helen said "it means my future is in the air at the moment. I suppose it is possible I might die. But it isn't absolute or Alice would be able to see it. I believe Carlisle will be able to save me once the baby is born. I can become like you."

Edward asked "what about your family it can't be easy for you to leave Charlie and Renee behind."

Helen said "No that part is going to be very hard but I can't give up on my baby. I am the only one he has because I am his mother."

Edward asked "it is a boy?"

Helen said "I'm guessing we can't really know until he is born. In fact with as big as my belly is Carlisle things I might be carrying twins. Being a twin it is more likely for me. He said I will probably deliver in a few days."

That evening Carlisle went hunting to make sure he would be strong enough for Helen he also got more supplies.

Chapter 15

Carlisle felt Helen couldn't carry the baby any longer on the morning of the 13th.

Carlisle had to bite through the uterus and delivered not one but two healthy babies one boy and one girl. They both had Charlie's curls the boy had Bronze hair and brown eyes and the girl had brown hair and green eyes. Carlisle handed the boy to Helen as he delivered the girl but the boy bit Helen as his venom spread in her. Helen would be forever 19 years old. It took her three days of burning but she finally woke as a newborn.

Carlisle and Jasper were in the room when Helen woke she got off the table and looked at them and asked "where are my babies?"

Carlisle said "they are with their father."

Helen said "I want to see them."

Jasper said "first you need to get your thirst under control. Come on I will take you hunting."

Jasper took Helen hunting he lead her to a herd of deer. He showed her how it was done then let her at them. Helen filled her thirst then Jasper brought her home.

Esme embraced Helen when she came into the house and said "welcome to the family."

Helen asked "where are my babies?"

Edward said "they are right here and they are both amazing."

Edward was holding the boy and Rosalie was holding the girl.

Alice said "we are all waiting for you to tell us what their names are."

Helen said "if it is alright with Edward I would like to name them Elizabeth and Masen Cullen."

Edward said "I like them."

Rosalie let Helen hold Elizabeth.

Edward said "We are going to have to tell Charlie you didn't make it."

Helen sighed and said "I know I suspect you will know what needs to be done. Will I have to lay in a casket while people look at me?"

Carlisle said "we will insist on a closed casket due to illness. We will find a corpse about your size. You just have to stay out of sight."

Helen was able to love on both of her babies before Jacob and the pack showed up.

Jacob and Sam were as themselves everyone else was their wolves.

Helen smiled and said "Hi why is everybody here?"

Sam said "we want to make it clear that you are going to become like the Cullen's."

Edward said "you don't have anything to worry about she is one of us now. We will teach her our ways. It is my fault that this happened I will make sure I will take care of her."

Helen asked "Did you let Bella see my babies yet Jake?"

Jacob said "I couldn't risk her safety."

Edward said "I texted her some pictures. Now that we have names for them we can let her know."

Helen said "I can't believe I'm never going to see Bella again but I couldn't kill my babies."

Edward said "Bella understands why you did what you did and at least she will know the truth about you. You will be able to email and text her so you will be able to stay in touch. Just as long as no one finds out."

The pack left satisfied that Helen would never kill a human and Carlisle made the hard call to Charlie convincing him that he couldn't see Helen's body wasn't easy but Carlisle was able to convince Charlie to let him take care of the funeral arrangements.

Helen stayed home and looked after the twins the Cullen's were planning to move to make it easier on Helen it would be a long time before she could be around humans. Edward was kind and patient with her. He bought her a violin. They were able to play duets.

Edward was recovering from his loss of Bella and he was getting used to his new role as a father and he felt it was his responsibility to make sure Helen learned how to be a Cullen. Of course everyone was helping with that. It helped that Jasper knew a thing or two about newborns. Helen was generally a happy person so Jasper liked to be around her. The whole family loved the babies they were growing so fast they all worried how long they would have with them.

Irina from the Denali coven came to apologize she was shocked to learn about the twins and how Helen and Bella had switched places at the wedding. She went home feeling better about her relationship with the Cullen's.

As the months went by and Helen's control got better and her eyes changed color they made plans to go visit the Volturi. As the months went by Helen and Edward's relationship became romantic in nature. Helen was not Bella but she was in love with Edward and he was falling in love with her. They had a small wedding just the family and Denali and at the end of Helen's Newborn year she and Edward went to Italy. They visited the Volturi under Bella's name the Volturi were none the wiser and Edward and Helen had a nice vacation just like he had promised her in the city of music.

The road to their happiness had been full of bumps and dips but now they both were on a smooth road where they had only happiness and love Forever.
