"Pepper, who is Peter Parker?" Tony asked after dialing the woman who essentially ran his life.
"What are you talking about, Tony?" Pepper questioned not following the man's logic at all.
"My calendar says I'm supposed to be doing testing with a Peter Parker, but I don't know who that is. Do we have any records of a Peter Parker?"
"Give me just a moment," Pepper answered as she started looking up information on the computer. "It appears Mr. Parker is an intern you've had working for you."
"Hm...if he's my intern why do I have no memory of him? Do we have any other information on him?" Tony followed up with his curiosity heightened.
"Let's see, the day of your interview with him you wrote 'This kid is going to be something great one day'. A couple days later you commented, 'Pete shows even greater potential than I thought'. The only other comment you have in your notes says, 'This kid never fails to astonish me'. Beyond that, it appears Mr. Parker has showed up for every internship date you've set until around the time of the blip. His parents were killed when he was a child and he was raised by his aunt and uncle. His uncle died when he was a teenager. But again, around the time of the blip we stopped collecting information about him," Pepper answered.
"I thought everyone was brought back from the blip?" Tony asked.
"Yes," Pepper confirmed.
"So why hasn't he been showing up here? And I would definitely remember a kid I have such positive opinion of. Pepper, can you track Peter Parker down and arrange a meeting?" Tony asked.
Pepper just sighed. "Tony, I'm Pepper Potts. Do you really have to ask me that? I'll call you back with details when I have them."
"Thanks, Pepp," Tony offered before hanging up to do his own sleuthing.
"Jarvis, do you have any information about this Peter Parker I'm supposed to be doing testing with today?" Tony asked the AI.
"Peter Parker has been listed as an intern, but I have no further information than that provided by Ms. Potts, sir," the AI answered.
"Interesting...how about the testing? Did I leave any details about what testing I was supposed to do today?" Tony asked. He didn't normally have trouble remembering projects or tests, but he normally didn't have trouble remembering people he apparently had positive opinions of so it seemed the battle with Thanos had changed more than he'd originally thought.
"It appears you were intending to test out new features to a suit, sir," Jarvis answered.
"What suit, Jarvis? I don't think I had any plans for upgrades on my suit." Tony was getting more confused with each new detail he received. What was going on? He didn't like being confused. This was driving Tony crazy.
"The features do not seem to be intended for your suit, sir. It seems you had work planned for a suit dubbed the 'Iron Spider'."
"The Iron Spider. What the hell?" Tony mumbled under his breath before his phone rang.
"Pepper, what have you got for me?" Tony asked hopefully.
"Mr. Parker seemed...confused that you'd requested a meeting with him, Tony; but he agreed. He'll be here after his school lets out. I've already told Happy to pick him up. Happy will call you once they're on their way," Pepper answered.
"Thanks Pepp, you're the best."
"And don't you forget it."
