The moon was full on a clear night with no stars in sight. It shown down at a mass expanse of forest that dotted the plains of the land. Snowflakes gently drifted down from the sky above, dancing gracefully amongst the air currents. Said snowflakes slowly made their way to the ground, covering the earth's floor with a soft white carpet that contrasted greatly with the previous dark gray that covered the landscape. The dead trees of the forest stood out more than usual, their once bright leaves now only darkened by frost. They reflected the pale moonlight like silver mirrors. It lit up the area around them, creating an eerie atmosphere.
The snowy forest was empty; not even a single animal could be seen wandering about. Not even a bird flew through the branches as the trees stood tall and proud. All they were was silent. The trees stood perfectly still for hundreds of feet around, almost frozen in place from where they stood. A faint breeze moved through the trees, brushing against some of the branches, but other than that, it was quite still. Only the wind could be heard. It sang softly through the trees while the snow continued its quiet dance in the night sky.
Though the forest was devoid of life, it only confirmed that she was the only one.
In the snow canopy, far away from the comforts of home, a lone red-cloaked young girl walked through the forest. Glancing about every few moments before stepping off the beaten path to continue walking on. She took note of her surroundings, looking for any possible threats or problems. She scanned each tree branch before continuing along.
The young girl wore a black long-sleeved blouse with a high collar and red trim on the sleeves, over which is a black waist cincher with red lacing up the front, and a matching skirt with red lining. She also wears a pair of thick black stockings and black combat boots with red laces, red trims around the top, and red soles. Her outfit is topped by a red hooded cloak fastened to her throat and a large silver cross is pinned to her belt. Said belt was slung around her hips on an angle with a square gray-shaped pocket attached to the cross's side. Her face was hidden behind the red hoodie's shadows.
The young girl continued striding slowly through the forest until she entered a wide snow-filled field. She looked around in all directions, finding endless snow and unsurprisingly a group of Beowolves about ten feet away. The Beowolves gathered together and stared at her coldly. The young girl stood perfectly still, assessing the situation.
The Alpha Beowolf growled deeply, baring its fangs. Slowly it began moving forwards again. The other pack members began following suit, and soon they were approaching from all sides.
Slowly, the Alpha Beowolf crept closer, its mouth widening into a feral grin. Drips of saliva flecking from its maw. At that point, the other pack members formed a circle around the young girl. With a growl, the Alpha and its pack members shot forth and leaped into the air, adamant to rip her apart.
Only for the creatures to be left bewildered when they grabbed none but air.
The young girl had disappeared from where she stood instantly. All that could be found of her were fluttering rosé petals. The wolves stare dumbfoundedly, twitching their heads left and right, trying to find their prey. Then suddenly one wolf noticed the fallen petals near his foot. It looked up.
The young girl hovered high in the air with her torso twisted around facing the Beowolves below. Her arms spread wide and her red cape fluttered in the wind. The hood of her cloak fell back, exposing strands of highlighted red tips of the hair. She was fair-skinned, with a slight blush on her cheeks. Two silver eyes shone brightly and stared down at her attackers with a blank expression.
This young girl was seen by some people as small and helpless; just a weak, naive young girl with no real power to stand against these vicious creatures. And if these creatures could speak they would have agreed. But little do these creatures know, they'll be surprised to learn quickly that there's a warrior within this girl that will soon run wild. She is purity, righteousness, defiance, and strength. And her name is Ruby Rose.
Using the momentum, Ruby reached down the grip of Crescent Rose and rolled around midair. The hybrid-weapon mechanically transformed by extension before she aimed and fired. Half of the Alpha Beowolf's head exploded as its legs trembled. Its body fell lifelessly to the snow below.
Upon landing another Beowolf crawled towards her and pounced. Ruby casually jumped over said wolf and pumped a round onto the Beowolf's back then straightened herself to cock the chamber back. Another rounds shoots through the barrel of Crescent Rose, piercing through a Beowolf's hip. Ripping chunks off of said hip, the beat fell to the ground as life withered away.
Ruby landed on her back, rolled up on one knee, turned to her right and fired. The shot powerfully kicked her back, sending her flying five feet away from the Beowolves. She rolled back onto her feet and began spinning her Crescent Rose. The hybrid-weapon once again shifted and extended. Transforming into a giant war-scythe.
One of the Beowolves gathered the courage to charge at Ruby. Ruby spun the scythe around and brought it down. The curved blade hung over the wolf's back. The Beowolf slowly turns its gaze at Ruby. For a brief second Ruby smirked at the beast, before narrowing her eyes with determination, flexing her finger on the trigger and bringing the blade down hard. Slicing through half of its body in two.
At this moment Ruby spent the next few minutes displaying her skills. The Beowolves that had been so terrifying when she was a kid, now seemed like ants before an unstoppable red reaper. The booms and slice of Crescent Rose filled the air, each blast from her Caliber Sniper marking the destruction of another foe. All of it done by her display of strength, and speed, married together in a beautiful dance of annihilation.
All the Grimm were slayed by the time she was finished.
Ruby exhaled sharply, wiping sweat from her brow after she had finally exhausted the energy she gained fighting. Her eyes glazed with fatigue as she leaned against a tree trunk to catch her breath. After a ten minute break she got up and began walking out of the snowy field. As Ruby walked, she thought what she should do by the time she reached Vale.
Maybe she should rent a room and stay for the night? Or maybe go to a store and read another one of those action novels? She did read in a magazine that said action novel was gonna come out today, so she could utilize her time.
Ruby halted in her tracks upon seeing something.
It was there in a small clearing behind the trees. A dark shape. She blinked, and it was still there. That shape.
A human shape. In green.
"Huh?"
Ruby maneuvered through the dense foliage, hastening her pace until she reached the silhouette, scarcely able to fathom the sight before her. However, her initial perception proved to be accurate. A human being, reclining on their back upon the terrestrial terrain.
She assumed a crouched position, her gaze gradually ascending from the individual's feet towards their countenance. It appeared to be a young male, akin to Ruby in age or thereabouts. He donned an unfamiliar verdant ensemble, adorned with ivory stripes along its periphery. Encasing his hands were substantial gauntlets, while his lower limbs were encased in metallic greaves. A timeworn yellow scarf encircled his neck.
It was at that moment that she observed a crimson hue encircling the boy's lower extremities. As Ruby examined more closely, she discerned the numerous tears and gashes in the verdant fabric, besmirched with the sanguine fluid. Her heart constricted. He appeared so youthful, so innocent, just like her; yet his physique was so battered and bloodied. He must have endured a most harrowing battle.
But what battle? No conflict had been perceived or witnessed, and even if there had been, she would have been cognizant of it. And how did he come to be in this location? She detected no airship, nor even a trace of one.
So how could he be here?
Was he still alive?
Ruby bent over, and pressed her ear to his chest; praying to any nearby deity or spirit that his heart was still beating. It was, though only faintly.
Okay, just hang on, Ruby thought.
Ruby had to save him. Her mother would have slaughtered thousands of Grimm to save him. She had to get him to a hospital, where their doctors and nurses awaited.
She rounded behind him, sliding her arms under his armpits, and lifted him up from the ground. At least she tried to lift him up. Small leaves fall off of him. As he rose, something fell from his pocket. Laying him back down with his head on her lap, Ruby extended her arm and picked it up. It was a card of some kind.
She internally read the words on said card in her thoughts.
Midoriya Izuku. Hero name: Deku.
A/N: Welcome young readers to a new crossovering series between My Hero Academia and RWBY. Ruby meets our adorkable broccoli boy. Which part of canon did Izuku come from? How will he fare in this new world? Only time will tell. One thing is for sure, with Izuku existing in this new world, some of the events in the RWBY universe will be altered. The chapters in this story will be a balance between short and long ones. Doing the massive long-man chapters can be nice once in a while, but it can drain you; and believe me, I had been drained many times.
This story I'll be writing will be my take on an alternate universe if Izuku Midoriya, aka Deku, was transported out from his world to the new world. I'll be writing his interactions with all the characters, slow character development, and more. With all of that said, I'll be taking my leave. See you young readers in the next chapter!
