In the Peace Keepers Homeworld.
Blayz and Max,Together were leaving the Stronghold,Into the Outside World of,What the Locals called the Dry Canyon, as They set Out to begin Their Journey to the Skylands.
Blayz and Max started to Walk Away,From the Doors,Towards Their Destination as Blayz took One Look Back at Titan and the Other Peace Keepers,Before,Turning Back Away from Them,To Continue Their Journey.
However
Max and Blayz were Walking,In the Deserts of the Homeworld,For,Only a Couple of Minutes,When Blayz went Off Course,And,Stopped,At a Residential Area,To buy,Some More Stuff for the Journey.
Blayz and Max walked,Through the Residential Area,Carefully,as Blayz looked Around,For a Much Needed Market.
"Okay,Stay Close,You don't want to get Lost in Here," Blayz requested,Politely,Trying to be More Safe than Sorry.
"I think,I would be Pretty Fine with the Idea of getting Lost in Here,At Least,I'd be Away from You," Max retorted,In a Frustrated Tone.
Blayz Sighed,In Frustration,At Max's Response.
He was,Trying to be as Nice as He could,But,Max wasn't,Really making It Easy.
Blayz didn't Say Another Word,as He continued to look Around the Area,For the Local Market,Instantly,Finding It,A Minute Later.
Blayz took a Small Pouch of Coins,That,Titan had given Him,Out of his Bag,Ready to Pay for,What He needed.
Blayz tried to make a Quick,In and Out Trip as He grabbed,Only the Things,He needed.
The Minute,The Two got in the Store,Max stopped,In the Entrance,And,Leaned Against It,To wait for Him.
There was No Way,He was going to walk in There.
Blayz grabbed Sleeping Bags,Firewood,Lizard Jerky,Salmon Meat,Vegetable Soup Cans,A Cooking Pan and Pot,Plates,Bowls,Bottles of Iced Water,And,A Large Travel Bag to store Them In.
Blayz went,Over to the Register Area,To pay for,All the Supplies,He was taking.
Blayz walked Up to the Merchant Dragon as He took Out his Coins,Ready to Purchase It.
While,Blayz was making his Purchases,Max was,Sitting Down,At the Entrance to the Store,With his Arms Crossed,And,A Frown on his Face as He waited for Him,To be Done.
Blayz had,Just Finished his Purchases,For the Stuff,They needed,And,Was starting to gather Them All Up,When the Merchant Dragon began to talk to Him.
"How come You have a Human Boy with You?" She asked,Curiously.
"Oh,He got Here,By Accident,I'm,Currently,On a Mission to get Him Home," Blayz replied,Casually,Like,It wasn't,That Big of a Deal.
Blayz would have said More,About the Whole Universe in Danger Thing,But,He didn't want to cause a Panic.
"Ah,It must be Pretty Awesome to be traveling with One," The Merchant Dragon stated.
"You have No Idea," Blayz added as He continued to gather Up the Stuff,That,He had bought.
Meanwhile.
Max leaned,Against the Door of the Store,Waiting for Blayz to be finished.
Max sighed as He watched Blayz,Continue to talk to the Merchant.
"Great,Just keep Talking,It's not like,We have Somewhere to be or Anything," Max commented as He watched Him
That was When.
A Couple of Friendly Little Dragons came,Running through the Market,With Little Swords and Axes,In Hand.
"En Garde," One of Them shouted.
"To Arms," Another yelled Out.
Max,Hearing Their Shouts,Turned to the Direction,Where,They were Playing,And,As He watched Them,He Smiled,Finding,How They were playing,Very Adorable.
The Friendly Dragons,Just Happened to turn to Him,Seeing Him There.
Noticing Their Little Audience,The Little Dragons ran,Over to Him,To Greet Him.
"Wow,An Actual Human,Here? That is So Cool," One of the Dragons announced,In Surprise and Excitement,At the Same Time.
"Whoa,Cool,We've never had a Human Here,Before," Another One of the Dragons answered,Also Excited to see Him.
"Yeah,We,Mostly,Get Dragons,Around Here,You are the First Human,Ever to be in this Residential Area," The Last Dragon informed,Happily.
Max stopped,Crossing his Arms,And,His Smile got Bigger as He saw,How Excited,They were to see Him.
"Hi,I'm Emerald,This is Cadmus,And,Over There is Jack," Emerald introduced,Introducing Herself and her Two Friends.
"Well,My Name's Max,And,To be Honest,I've never met such Cute and Friendly Creatures,Before," Max responded,as He complemented Them,And,Knelt Down,In Front of Them.
"Hey,Maybe,You could play with Us," Emerald suggested.
"Yeah,Could You,Please?" Jack and Cadmus pleaded,Also,Wanting Him to Play.
"Well,What are You Guys Playing?" Max questioned.
"We're playing Dungeons and Dragons,And,Just like,Emerald was Saying,You are Welcome to join Us,In Our Game" Cadmus answered as Him and the Other Two showed Off Their Swords and Axes,Before,Offering Him,Again,A Chance for Him to play with Them.
Max Smiled,Slightly,as He listened to the Dragons's Offer.
"Sure," Max accepted,Forgetting All,About the Mission,And,Wanting to Go,Over,And,Play with Them.
Blayz,Having,Just Finished,And,Just Happening to hear Max Accept the Offer,Decided to Interrupt,To keep Them,On the Task,That,They were,Supposed to be doing.
"Um,Actually,I'm Afraid,He can't,We have to leave for Our Mission," Blayz informed,Politely.
Max Sighed,In Disappointment,Realizing,That,He was Right.
Max felt Angry with Blayz,On the Inside, When He heard Him,Prevent Him from Playing,But,He didn't want the Baby Dragons to see That Side of Him,So,He held It in.
"Sorry,Guys,I have to Go," Max apologized,Humbly,as He looked Down at Them,With Sadness on his Face.
"It's Alright,We Understand," Emerald reassured,Happily.
"Yeah,We Understand,And,If You come Again,Some Time,You are Welcome to Come play with Us," Cadmus offered,Nicely,as He looked Up at Max,And,Smiled.
Max opened his Arms,In Response,the Three Dragons came,Running into his Arms, as He put his Arms,Around Them,Hugging Them,Tightly,Before,Getting Back Up,And,Departing with Blayz,Leaving the Three Dragons to play Their Game.
The Three Dragons watched Him and Blayz,Walk Out of the Residential Area,Before, Going Back to continue Their Game.
Blayz and Max continued Their Walk,Through the Dry Canyon,Towards the Skylands,For What seemed,Like Hours.
The Two had Walked,And,Walked,And,Walked,Having Not So Much as a Break,They,Just Continued On and On.
Thankfully,The Heat wasn't as Bad,As the Sun began to Set.
Now,That, The Sun was Setting,Max and Blayz were beginning to pick Up the Pace,Knowing,The Fact,That,It was going to be Dark,Soon,And,They would need to find Camp.
Max Panted as He,Slowly,Continued to Follow Blayz,Through the Dry Canyon.
Max Groaned,In Anger,as He continued to follow Him.
"How Long is It gonna take Us to find This Skylands Place,Anyway?" Max asked,Wanting to Know,How Long,It was going to take,To Get There.
Blayz Sighed,In Frustration,While,He walked.
"You've been Asking,That Same Question,Four Times,Already,And,I keep telling You,We'll get There,When We get There," Blayz elucidated as He continued,Leading the Two,Through the Canyon,To Their Destination.
Max,Hitting his Breaking Point,Stopped Walking,as He,Then,Sat Down,On the Sand,And,Didn't Move.
"Blayz,I'm Tired,I'm Hungry and I want to Rest," Max informed,In a Firm Tone,Refusing to go an Inch Further.
"Uh,We can't stay,Where We are,We're in Roc Territory,And,We will become Prey,If We don't keep Moving," Blayz warned,Trying to make Sure,That,They didn't become Food.
"Pfft," Max whispered,Brushing It Off,as He,Just,Turned Away,From Blayz,And,Stayed sitting There,In the Sand,Thinking Blayz was,Just being Ridiculous.
Blayz Growled,In Frustration,as He watched Max,Just Continue to sit There.
"What the Heck is Wrong with You? Why have You been such a Jerk?" Blayz shouted,Finally,Done,With Max being a Jerk,Now,Starting to Speak his Mind.
"B-Being a Jerk to You?" Max guessed,In a Ridiculed Tone.
"Oh,No,Not,Just towards Me,But,Towards Everyone around You,When They've Done,Nothing to You," Blayz pointed Out,In Agitation.
"Ha,So What? Since,When is This Any of Your Business,Huh?" Max retorted.
"When I started taking You Back,When Titan tried to help You,When the Others tried to help You," Blayz shot Back.
"Oh,Please,You would never Understand,What I've been Through,Never,You cannot begin to Comprehend,The Things,I've gone Through," Max lashed Out,Angrily.
"Well,You care to Enlighten Me,On What This Reason is," Blayz suggested,Firmly.
"I don't need to Explain Anything to You," Max yelled,In a Snotty Tone,as He crossed his Arms,Refusing to give Blayz a Reason for Not saying Anything.
"And,Why's That?" Blayz questioned.
"Cause,I don't feel the Need to Explain the Reason to You," Max stated.
"You-You don't Feel,The Need to-,Seriously,What does This Sound like a Freaking Therapy Session to You?" Blayz responded,Frustratedly,as the Two continued to Fight,And,Shout at Each Other.
As the Two continued to Argue with One Another,A Flock of Roc Birds appeared,Out of Nowhere,Having heard Their Arguing,And,Flying Down towards Them.
"Don't be Ridiculous,Of Course,I have a Reason," Max retorted,Not seeing the Birds coming Down for Them.
Blayz was,About to Say Something Else,When the Flock of Rocs Shrieked Out,To Each Other,as They landed,On the Ground,And,Pooled the Two of Them,Into a Circle.
Blayz and Max stopped Arguing,And,Turned to the Flock of Rocs,That,Were Surrounding Them,Both realizing,What They had,Just gotten Themselves Into.
The Rocs Shrieked at Them as They prepared to kill Their Prey.
Blayz put Down his Travel Bag,And,Quickly,Drew his Sword,Preparing to fight the Coming Birds.
"Run!" Blayz ordered,Stepping,In Front of Max to protect Him,as He got Ready to Attack.
"Don't tell Me,What to Do," Max demanded,Not Listening to Him,as He,Just stood There,Behind Blayz,While,Glaring at Him.
That was When.
One of the Rocs swooped In,To Attempt to kill Them,Only for Blayz,To Strike It with the Sword,Instantly,Killing It,Already having It Handled.
But.
However.
Now,All the Other Rocs began to attack Them,All at Once,With Only Blayz to fend Them Off,While,Max was,Standing on the Sidelines,With his Eyes Closed,Ncrot wanting to see,What Happened Next.
Using a Combination of Claw,Fire and Sword Attacks, Blayz was able to kill All of the Rocs,Except One.
Max,Now,Only Hearing Silence,Opened his Eyes,To see,Blayz,Still Standing,And,A Bunch of Roc Bodies,Lying On the Ground,With Blood Protruding Out of Them.
In That Same Second,That,He opened his Eyes,The Last Roc,Swooped In,And,Grabbed Max,In It's Talons,Before,Immediately,Flying Off with Him,Towards It's Nest.
Max opened his Eyes,Feeling Something grabbed Him,as He saw Himself,Way Up in the Sky,In the Roc's Talons.
Max Screamed Out,In Surprise,as He tried to Squirm Out of It's Talons.
"HELP!!! HELP!!!" Max cried Out,as Blayz,Seeing Him,Get Captured,Began to give Chase,To Go and Save Him.
The Roc made It All the Way,Back to It's Nest,That,Sat on the Edge of a Cliff,Above a Large River,Where It's Chicks were,Waiting for a Meal.
The Roc dropped Max,Right,Into the Nest,To feed It's Chicks,Before,Flying Off.
The Chicks turned to Max,Hearing Him drop,Into the Nest,as They,Then,Began to Attack Him.
Max tried to fend Them Off,By,Just pushing Them Off,But,They were Too Strong,To push Off.
The Chicks Pecked and Scratched at Max,Trying Everything They could to eat Him,With Max being Completely Defenseless,In,Trying to fend Himself.
Max,Still Trying to defend Himself,Swatted at the Chicks,To Swat Them Away,But,Still,The Chicks continued to Peck,Bite and Scratch at Him.
That was When.
Blayz showed Up to the Scene.
Blayz flew Up to the Roc's Nest,And,Landed on the Edge of It as He,Then,Blew Fire,Onto the Chicks,Instantly,Burning All of the Chicks's Feathers Off.
The Chicks looked Down at Themselves,In Surprise,Seeing,That,They were Naked as They Shrieked and Flew Off,In Embarrassment.
"Are You Okay?" Blayz asked,Softly,Out of Concern for Max's Well Being as He walked,Into the Nest,Over to Max.
"Y-Yes. Uh,Th-Thanks,I Guess," Max thanked,Reluctantly,as He Answered Blayz,And,Thanked Him,While,Rubbing the Back of his Neck,Nervously,Being not Used to Apologizing.
"Here,Let me Help You Out of Here," Blayz offered as He reached Out his Hand,To Max,For Max to grab On,So,He could help Him get Out of the Nest.
Max took his Hand as He,Then,Waited for Blayz to get Them,Out of There.
Just,When Blayz was about to help Him get Out of the Nest,The Roc came returning Back to It's Nest,To find All of Its Babies Gone as It,Cawed,Angrily,And,Swooped in,To kill Blayz.
"LOOK OUT!!!" Max Screamed Out,In Alarm, as He looked,Behind Blayz,To see the Coming Roc.
Blayz pushed Max,Out of the Way,Before the Roc could get Him,as the Roc,Then,Capture Blayz,In Its Talons.
The Roc hovered,Over the River as It attempted to kill Blayz,With It's Snapping Beak.
Blayz,In Retaliation,Grabbed Its Neck,And,Tried to hold It Back,With All his Strength.
Blayz,Seeing a Way Out of his Current Situation,Balled Up his Fist,Before,Punching the Roc,In the Throat,Causing It to Choke.
Blayz,Then,Pulled Out his Sword,Stabbed It's Left Wing,Crippling the Roc's Flight,And,Causing the Two of Them to plummet,Out of the Air,Into the River.
The Roc,Not being able to Swim,Very Well,Instantly,Drowned as It sunk to the Bottom of the River.
Blayz,Having Survived the Fall,Into the River,Took a Deep Breath Out,as His Head emerged,From Under the Water.
Blayz,Trying his Best to get Out,Lifted his Arms,To Try,And,Swim,But,Once He did,He sunk,Below the River,Once Again.
Struggling to keep Himself,Above the Water,Blayz bobbed Up and Down,In the Water,Constantly,Sinking,Before,Rising,as He,Unable to fight the Strong Current,Continued down the River,Towards a Coming Waterfall.
"BLAYZ!!!" Max called Out,In Concern,as He watched Him struggle to Stay Alive,From,In the Nest.
Knowing,That,Blayz needed his Help,Max gathered All the Bravery,That,He had,Before,Dived,Into the River,To save Him.
As Blayz continued down the River,He got caught Up,In the Rapids,And,Began to bang into Multiple Rocks.
Blayz Grunted and Screamed as He hit Rock after Rock,On his Way to the Waterfall.
Going way Too Fast Down the River,Blayz ended Up,Banging,Hard Enough into One of the Rocks,That,It knocked Him Unconscious.
Max caught Up to Blayz,By flowing with the River's Powerful Current,Over to Him.
Max,Then,Noticed the Huge Waterfall,At the End of the Current,That was Coming,Pretty Quickly.
"Oh,You've gotta to be kidding Me," Max complained,Frustratedly,as He grabbed Blayz,By his Arm,To Make Sure,He didn't go any Further,Without Him.
Max looked Around Him and Blayz,Looking for Anything,That would be Sturdy Enough to hold Them Both,as Max,Suddenly,Saw a Nearby Branch,Gasping,In Excitement,Cause of,The Fact,That,He had found Something,In the Nick of Time.
Still Holding Blayz by the Arm,Max,Then,Grabbed onto the Nearby Ranch,Preventing Them,Both,From Falling over the Edge.
Max Struggled to keep his Grip on the Branch,But,However,The Force was,Too Much for Max,Too Handle as the Branch,Suddenly,Snapped,And,The Two went,Over the Edge,Beginning to Freefall,Towards the Waters,Below.
Regaining Consciousness,And,Acting Really Quickly, Blayz grabbed Max,And,held Him,Tightly,as He spreaded his Wings and Flew,Gliding above the Lake,Saving Them Both from Their Almost Watery End.
But,Knowing,That,They weren't Out of Trouble,Yet,Blayz prepared for,What He would have to do Next.
Coming,Into the Dry Land,Too Fast,Blayz rolled,On his Back,Folded in his Wings to shield Max,From the Impact,as He,Then,Slid,Across the Sand,Firmly,Before,Coming to a Complete Halt.
"And,This is Why,I hate Sand," Blayz remarked to Himself,In Between Heavy Pants,as He laid There,In the Sand,On his Back,With his Wings folded,.
Blayz unfolded his Wings,From,Around Max as He looked at Him,To see,If He was Okay.
"Y-You saved Me,Again," Max mentioned as He looked at Blayz,With a Surprised Look,While,Panting,Heavily.
After a Moment of,Finally,Catching Breath,Max got Off of Blayz,as They Both,Just laid There,In the Sand.
"Hm,You Know What,Maybe,We should camp Here for Tonight," Blayz suggested as He continued to lay There,In the Sand.
"Yeah,That's a Good Idea," Max agreed,as He,Also,Continued to lay There,In the Sand,Ready to do Some Serious Sleeping.
