I slid down the hill with Fiona and I saw that she is very happy. I think she is happy that she is out of that tower after so long. Well I can't say that I don't blame her. I really don't. How can I not? She hasn't been outside of the tower in a long time. I think so, it's like she hasn't seen the sun since she was put in the tower.
I'll be happy if I was in her shoes. She then said while Donkey rolled down and Shrek slid down and bumped right into Donkey, "You did it! You rescued me. You're amazing You're-you're wonderful. You're…A little unorthodox I'll admit. But...thy deed is great, and thine heart is pure. I am eternally in your debt."
Donkey cleared his throat for some attention and Fiona then added, "And where would a brave knight be without his noble steed?" I rolled my eyes at this. Donkey then said to me and Shrek, "I hope you heard that. She called me a noble steed. She thinks I'm a steed." I shook my head at this.
Fiona then said, "And of course with the help of my knight's brave companion, Lady Dora." I blushed. This is not too much for me. Fiona then turned her attention to Shrek and said, "The battle is won. You may remove your helmet, good Sir Knight." I got my eyes wide. She wants to see Shrek's face?! Oh no, not a good time for that. Shrek said to him, "Uh, no." Fiona asked him, "Why not?"
Shrek tried to make up an excuse saying, "I…I have helmet hair." Helmet hair? Never heard of it. Fiona then said, "Please. I would'st look upon the face of my rescuer." Shrek said, "Oh, no, you wouldn't - st."
I added saying, "I think it's best that you wouldn't Princess." Fiona looked at me and asked, "But how will he kiss me?" I got surprised and Shrek got shocked. Shrek asked before he bumped right into a wall, "What?" Then he said to me and Donkey, "That wasn't in the job description."
I then said, "Maybe it's something else that I'm not familiar with or something." Donkey then said, "Maybe it's a perk!" Fiona said, "No, it's destiny. Oh, you must know how it goes: A princess locked in a tower and beset by a dragon is rescued by a brave knight, and then they share true love's first kiss."
Shrek and Donkey got confused, I on the other hand was unsure. Donkey asked Fiona, "Hmm? With Shrek? You think -who, whoa, wait a sec. You think that Shrek is your true love?"
Fiona answered, "Well... yes." Shrek and Donkey looked at each other and they began to laugh. I didn't think it was that funny, I was still unsure. It would be a possibility that Shrek and Fiona would be in love, but I don't know if that is the case.
I could wait. This would be a matter of time though. Fiona asked what was funny. Shrek said, "Let's just say I'm not your type, okay?" I added with a unsure look, "Yeah, it's possible and Shrek is not who you think he is." Fiona looked at me and then said to Shrek, "Of course, you are. You're my rescuer. Now-now remove your helmet." I stay out of the fight and Shrek told her, "Look, I don't think this is a good idea." Fiona argued with him saying, "Just take off the helmet." Shrek said, "I'm not going to." Fiona said, "Take it off." Shrek said angrily, "No!" Fiona shouted, "NOW!" I almost jumped at her shout.
Shrek then said, "Okay! Easy! As you command, Your Highness." I had a feeling that Fiona won't be happy. Shrek took off the helmet and Fiona was indeed not happy. I nervously smiled. Fiona was kind of shocked. Shrek waited for Fiona to respond and she said, "You…You're a… an ogre?" Shrek then asked her, "Oh, you were expecting Prince Charming?" Fiona then said, "Well -yes, actually! Oh, no. This is all wrong. You're not supposed to be an ogre!" I sighed and shook my head, I knew it. I knew that she isn't happy.
I tried to explain to her, "With all due respect Princess, none of this happened and Shrek didn't come to rescue you by choice. A man named Lord Farquaad sent us to rescue you from the dragon because he's the reason and he wants to marry you."
Fiona looked at me surprised and Shrek sighed and said, "She's right, Princess, I was sent to rescue you by Lord Farquaad, okay? He's the one who wants to marry you."
Fiona then asked Shrek, "Well why didn't he come rescue me?" Shrek and I looked at each other and he answered her, " Good question. You should ask him that when we get there." Fiona protested and said, "But I have to be rescued by my true love! Not by some ogre and hi...hi...his pet and some peasant girl." I scoffed at what she said about me.
So much for helping a princess. Shrek noticed the look on my face and he said to the princess, " Look, princess, you're not making my job any easier." I added, "Including with that attitude of yours." Fiona then said to us, "Well, I'm sorry, but your job is not my problem. You can tell Lord "Farquaad" that if he wants to rescue me properly, I'll be waiting for him right here."
Shrek then said while he advancing towards her before he turned to me, "Hey! I'm no one's messenger boy, all right? I'm a delivery boy. Right Dora?" I nodded my head telling him yes.
Fiona then said to him with a glare on her face, "You wouldn't dare." I smirked and said, "Oh he would dare." Then Fiona screamed while Shrek grabbed hold of her and put her over his shoulders as if she was a bag of some type. She demands to be put down and Shrek asked, "You coming Donkey?" Donkey answered him, " Oh, yep! I'm right behind ya."
Shrek then asked me, "What about you Dora? Are you coming?' I nodded my head and said, "Yes I am Shrek, I'm just a few inches behind you." I heard Fiona saying, "Put me down or you will suffer the consequences! This is not dignified! Put me down!" I then saw her smacking Shrek on the back of the head and she screamed in frustration. I hope that she can calm down.
Hours passed and Fiona was calm. Donkey asked her, "Okay, so here's another question. Say there's a woman that digs you, right, but you don't really like her that way. How do you let her down real easy so her feelings aren't hurt, but you don't get burned to a crisp and eaten? How do you do that?"
Fiona said to him, "You just tell her she's not your true love." I asked her, "Would it be the same for a female for a man's case by saying he's not your true love?" Fiona looked at me with a smile and she said, "Yes Dora, that's about right. Everyone knows what happens when you find your…" She stopped when Shrek did a bounce adjustment on her and she said, "Hey! The sooner we get to Duloc the better." Donkey then said to her, "Oh you're gonna love it there, Princess. It's beautiful!"
I added, "You can also say that Duloc is also…um famous! Yeah it is like famous." Fiona got curious after I said that. Fiona then asked, "And what of my groom-to-be? Lord Farquaad? What's he like?" Shrek answered her as he dumped her to the ground before he washed up, "Well, let me put it this way, princess. Men of Farquaad's stature are in..."short" supply."
He then chuckled and Donkey said, "I don't know, Shrek. There are those who think..."little" of him." The two then had a laugh, but I didn't laugh. I didn't think it's funny at all. Fiona said, "Stop it. Stop it, both of you. You're just jealous that you can never measure up to a great ruler like Lord Farquaad."
Shrek then said, "Yeah, well, maybe you're right, princess. But I'll let you do the..."measuring"...when you see him tomorrow." This made Fiona surprised and asked, "Tomorrow?"
I noticed the look on her face, she seems worried. She looked at the sunset and asked, "It'll take that long? Shouldn't we stop to make camp?" Shrek answered her, "No, that'll take longer. We can keep going." I started to suggest Fiona's idea and said, "Shrek, maybe it would be best if we camp, the princess and I are getting tired." Shrek protested by saying, "No we are not camping. You would rest and maybe tomorrow you can find us."
I glared at him and Fiona said, " But there's...robbers in the woods." That caught Donkey's attention and he said, "Whoa! Time out, Shrek! Camp is definitely starting to sound good." I concluded by saying, "Besides, traveling at night can be dangerous." Shrek who didn't want to stop said, "Hey, come on. I'm scarier than anything we're going to see in this forest." Fiona came up in front of Shrek and she shouted, " I NEED TO FIND SOMEWHERE TO CAMP NOW!"
I nervously smiled and said, "Better do what the princess says." Time passed and we found a cave. Shrek opened it for her and got her attention. I had a good look at it and said, "It may be suitable for her." Donkey on the other hand didn't think so. He said to us, "Shrek, Dora, we can do better than that. I don't think this is fit for a princess." Fiona then said after she looked at the sun set, "No no, it's perfect. It just needs a few homey touches." Shrek was confused.
He asked, "Homey touches? Like what?" We then heard a loud crunchy sound and turned around and saw Fiona holding a covering of a tree and she said, "A door." I guess it would be considered a homey touch. Then she said to us, "Well gentlemen and miss, I bid thee good night." Donkey offered to read her a bedtime story, but Fiona said good night.
Shrek was about to push the boulder a bit, but he chuckled and said he was kidding. Just as I was about to join them, I heard Fiona from the cave, "Wait, uh Lady Dora." I looked back at the cave and asked her, "Yes your highness, what is it?"
Fiona asked me, "Will it be alright if you stay by the cave with me please?" I answered her, "Of course I'll stay." The princess thanked me and then there was silence after that.
