Okay my readers, here's a new chapter for ya! This chapter takes place two weeks after Rita was shot during the staged break in that resulted in a miscarriage. I hope you enjoy!

Clay gathered Gogo and Greg the Peg at dawn for an emergency "meeting."

"We have a problem," Clay stated, taking a generous sip from the half empty bottle of Jack Daniels he held in his muscle deteriorated hands.

"Besides the obvious, what's goin' on, "Greg asked, taking a seat at the table with Samcro's former president.

"Jax spooked Frankie. He made it known that he's getting closer to finding out who is behind the break ins," Clay answered, slamming the glass bottle down onto the table, causing a faint split to run up the side of the bottle.

"Jesus Christ," Gogo replied, running his hands through his growing greasy locks.

"We need to finish what we put in motion.. today. With Frankie in the god damn wind, that only leaves you two. Gogo, you said Evie works late Wednesdays?"

Gogo nodded, pulling out a fresh pack of cigarettes from inside his kutte's worn pocket.

"Yeah. Late enough that the security guard is long gone before she is."

"Good."

"But, what about Phil? Jax has had him attached to her since she was gunned down at the clubhouse."

"Get creative. Say Jax needs him for some club shit, and he sent you to keep a close eye on her. Knowing Phil, he won't ask any questions."

"Okay, you got it," Gogo answered, taking an extended pull from his now lit cigarette.

Clay shifted his attention between the both of them before proceeding.

"Evie is not the only one we need to take care of."

"Wait, what?", Greg asked, readjusting himself in his wooden chair, moving closer to Clay.

"Did I stutter? It's Unser. Unser was the one who shifted Jax in our direction in the first place. He needs to go. Greg, you and I are gonna take care of Unser, and Gogo will eliminate that black gash once and for all."

Evie rotated the stove's knobs until the two audibly clicked, deactivating the stove's power.

She quickly grabbed a hold of the pans' lid covers that were lying face down next to her on the kitchen counter, gently placing them on top of the hot appliances.

She picked up her purse that was temporarily residing at the end of the kitchen's island, her hands sliding the straps up her right arm.

Evie did a brief once over of the set kitchen table to ensure all three of her boys would have what they need in order to enjoy their first meal of the day.

She opened the door that leads to the garage where Andre and Abel were helping Jax give his glide an overdue tune up.

"Hey, my early birds."

"Hi mommy," Andre and Abel greeted, uncontrollably saying those two words in perfect unison, bringing a large smile to their parents' faces.

Evie strolled over to the three of them to give each of them a kiss.

"Hey darlin'," Jax grinned, completing the small line of pecks with one on his woman's lips.

"How's the tune up that quickly turned into a beginner's automotive class goin'?", she asked, glancing over at their two small boys.

Jax tossed the tool that he had in his hand into the nearby toolbox.

"Good. We are almost done. You're heading out already?"

"Yup. This is gonna be my routine for a while. Before work, drop by Eli and Rita's to see how she's holding up."

"Any change from when she first came home," he asked, wiping his hands with a filthy blue microfiber cloth.

Evie sighed aloud, shaking her head.

"Just more of the same."

Evie had been by her brother's home every day since Rita was released from the hospital. In fact, today marks two weeks since that horrible day occurred to her family.

"I'm actually gonna drop by the station first and pay my big brother a visit. He hasn't been home since Rita has been released."

"Really?"

"Yeah, my mom is still in town looking after Rita and keeping up with their home, so if anybody would have any type of tidbits about what's been going down on the home front, it's her. "

"Mommy, how can we help Aunt Rita and Uncle Eli," Andre asked, slowly sliding off the shared stool with assistance from Jax, making his way in front of his mother.

Evie bent down to create direct eye contact with her son.

"I'm not sure, Dre. But, once I have an idea in mind, you will be the first to know."

"What about me," Abel yelled, receiving a kiss on the top of his head from his father.

"Okay, you both will be first to know."

Evie took Andre's face in both of her hands, giving him a kiss on his left cheek.

Her hands fell from his sweet face, her eyes peeping the time on her watch before it moved out of her view.

"Okay, I gotta get going. Breakfast is on the stove. Please eat something the moment you three are done in the garage," Evie pleaded, giving her boys another round of kisses.

"Yes ma'am, " Jax replied, pulling her close to him once it was his turn for some love and affection.

"I love you," Evie stated as the tip of her nose brushed against his own.

"I love you more," he smiled, pressing his lips against Evie's.

Evie pulled into the police station's parking lot, shifting her vehicle into park.

The moment her mother announced Eli has not been home with Rita, she knew she had to at least try to get through to her brother, regardless of all the shit that is going on between the both of them.

She unbuckled herself, reaching over the middle console to grab the container of food she has prepared for her bother.

Her brown eyes glanced at her watch, confirming she was making good time and would not be late for work.

She took a much-needed deep breath and headed into the station with her head held high.

"Hey Evie, " Eglee greeted as she rounded the corner to the family of desks.

"Hey Candy. Is he in the office?"

"Yeah," she smiled weakly.

"Okay, thanks."

Evie found her hand fall back as she was prepared to enter his office unannounced.

She shook her head and put her hand on the door's handle, pressing down and opening the door.

Eli's eyes fell on his little sister as she let herself in, closing the door behind her.

"Hi," she greeted in a mere whisper, walking over to his desk, taking a seat across from him.

"Hey," he responded before redirecting his attention back to his computer.

"I made you your favorite. The ultimate turkey club melt," she reached into her purse, placing the sealed food container on her brother's desk.

"Mom's recipe?", he asked, glancing at the food container.

"Who else's?," she smiled, crossing her right leg over her left.

Silence fell over the room as his sister zipped her purse closed.

"So, what brings you here, Eve?"

"You haven't been home since what happened."

"Mom tell you that?"

"She sure did."

"She send you to talk to me?"

"No, that was my decision. Eli, you need to be home with your wife. I know the higher ups can hold shit down here while you are home."

"I can't do that."

"Why?"

"She.. she won't talk to me."

"She may talk to you if you come home today. You won't know until you try. Mom and I will continue to be here for both you and Rita because we love you both. But Eli.. mom and I are not you. Exchanging words or not, what will matter to her is that you're there."

Eli felt like it was his duty to be at work.

Granted, he had no new leads of who was behind the attacks.

Jax has been keeping touch, saying he has no new leads.

He could be bullshitting him, but if he is as serious as he says he is about his sister, he will hold up his end of the deal.

"You hear me?", Evie asked with a tilt of her head.

He nodded, finally making eye contact with her.

"I could attempt to force your ass home, but I'm not trying to get locked up for assault on the lieutenant."

Eli actually chuckled, clearing his throat to conceal a sound she hasn't heard from her brother since she and Jax began seeing each other.

Evie stood upright, smoothing out her outfit.

"Whether you decide to stay here or go home, just make sure you eat something."

Eli's eyes were no longer on his sister.

She made her way behind the desk, leaning down to give Eli a kiss on the cheek.

Without him pulling away, she successfully planted a kiss on his cheek.

"I love you," she stated as she headed out of the office, closing the door behind her.

Next Stop: Eli and Rita's Home

Evie took a moment and sat in her car once she reached her next destination of the day.

She internally prayed and pleaded that Eli heard her.

Regardless of their current tension, she wanted what was best for her family.

The living room curtain was pulled back by Evie's mother Cheryl who gave her a friendly wave.

Evie smiled and waved back, getting out of her vehicle.

Cheryl exited the house, meeting Evie halfway up the stone path, taking yet another food container from her daughter's possession.

"Any improvement?", Evie asked, receiving a kiss on the right cheek from her mother.

"Yeah. She ate something this morning without me having to remind her."

"Small victories, right?", Evie answered, heading into the quiet home.

"Honey, you don't have to keep making all these meals. I can do it."

"Mom, you said yourself your arthritis is getting worse. It's the least I can do while you keep an eye on Rita."

Cheryl gently closed and locked the door while Evie strolled down the hallway to see Rita.

There she was, sitting in a dark blue rocking chair in the room that would have been the baby's room.

Evie raised her right hand, forming it into a fist, lightly knocking on the door frame.

"Hey."

"Hi," Evie smiled, entering the room, crouching down next to the rocking chair.

She took her sister in law's hand in her own.

"Ya know, I have some time to kill before work. You wanna take a walk around the block? It's a beautiful day outside and I need to break in these new heels."

Rita shook her head.

"I'm okay here."

"Okay honey. You need anything from me?"

Evie may have sounded like a god damn broken record, but she was willing to do anything to help her heal.

"There is something."

"Of course. What is it?"

"You can feel free to say no."

"I doubt I will but go ahead."

"You think you could bring Andre and Abel tomorrow?", she asked with watery eyes.

"I can definitely do that."

10:45PM:

Eli pulled up to his home, parking his vehicle behind his mother's.

Like clockwork, Cheryl peeled back the living room curtains, shockingly seeing Eli's car.

She opened the front door, meeting her son at the entrance.

"Hi mom."

"Hi honey."

Cheryl removed his car keys from his hand, setting them down on the table nearest to them both.

She immediately brought her oldest child into an embrace, hearing him lightly sob in her ear.

"It's okay, baby."

Eli pulled away from her, looking at Cheryl with a worrisome expression.

"Where is she?"

"The spare bedroom."

Out of view of any cameras that may not have been deactivated, Gogo slid the replica of Jax's gun, a Springfield Armory Professional 1911 into his kutte.

He reached the top floor where he saw Phil sitting outside Evie's office, doing some sort of scrolling on his cellphone.

"Hey man, Jax needs you at the clubhouse. He sent me to escort Evie home."

Phil looked up, putting his phone away.

"Oh.. he say why?"

"Standard gun run man, you know how it is."

"Yeah, I do. Alright," Phil grabbed Gogo's outreached hand, pulling him into a side hug.

Once Phil was out of sight, Gogo entered Evie's office, causing her to look up from her open file on her desk.

"Hey, Jax needed Phil for club business. He sent me to make sure you get home okay," he smiled, standing in front of her desk.

Without making it obvious on her face, Evie immediately grew suspicious.

Jax would have let her know if he was switching out one of his guys.

"Oh okay," Evie smiled as her hand reached into her purse to retrieve her cellphone.

Seeing what she was trying to do, Gogo lunged at Evie, causing her to let out a scream that fell on deaf ears.

He grabbed her by throat, lifting her out of her office chair, slamming her against the closest wall.

"You know, when I sent to take care of you, I couldn't be happier. I finally get to see what all the hype is about," he growled, undoing his belt with his opposite hand.

Evie thrusted her leg upward into his groin, making him double over for a brief moment.

She saw this as the perfect opportunity to escape.

She quickly moved out of his reach only for him to ignore the harsh blow to his stomach, grabbing her by the hair, throwing her across her desk.

All items there were on her desk were now scattered all over the office floor.

Just out of reach of her purse, Gogo roughly flipped Evie onto her back, his hands tearing her top almost in half.

Evie's eyes fell onto his bandage on his neck and dug her fingers into the wounds, causing them to bleed through the white bandage.

She immediately put two and two together.

He was there. He contributed to what happened to Rita.

Gogo shouted out in pain, backhanding Evie, causing her bottom lip to be split open.

Before he could position himself in between her legs, with all her might, she kicked him away from her, sending him onto his back.

With this brief window of opportunity, Evie reached into her purse, pulling out the gun Jax gave her, switching off the safety.

He charged at her once more only for Evie to shoot him directly in the head, causing him to fall backwards onto his back.

She slowly stood up with shaky hands still on the gun, bringing herself closer to Gogo.

Evie pulled the trigger again, the bullet lodging into his stomach.

She didn't need to say it aloud.

That second bullet was for Rita.

Evie sat in the ambulance, mechanically giving her statement to Eglee.

"Hey, we have to get her to the hospital to get her checked out," the male EMT states as he was taking Evie's vitals.

His eyes widened as he saw blood form from underneath her.

Evie's eyes fell from Eglee, her hand touching the inside of her legs.

"No,no,no," Evie cried, her blood staining her cold hands.

Eglee saw what the two were seeing and instantly let them go.

As the ambulance sped off, the loud roar of motorcycles soon followed behind the emergency vehicle.

"I can't lose my baby, I can't, I can't," Evie cried out, desperately holding her stomach.

"Evie, can you tell her how far along you are?", The EMT asked, hooking her up to an IV.

"I'm not even two months."

Seeing how utterly hysterical she was, he took hold of her right hand.

"Hey, hey, I know you're scared. You have every right to be. But, you are not doing yourself or your baby any favors by falling apart. Just follow my lead and breathe with me."

As soon as the ambulance pulled up the emergency room's dock, Jax and the club pulled up alongside it.

The EMT who was keeping Evie as calm as possible opened the doors, coming face to face with a group of leather wearing men.

"Evie, Evie, I'm right here," Jax stated as the EMT lowered the gurney to the hospital's ground.

"Jax..", Evie breathed, trying to control her breathing like she was told.

He immediately took hold of her hand, following the gurney.

"Hey man, you're not allowed back there with her. You're gonna have to go in the wai.."

"No, no, I want him with me," Evie cut him off.

"It's not standard operating procedure."

"He's the father of my child, and I want him with me. If you get shit for it, send your boss my way. Just.. please."

He sighed out of pure frustration before giving a nod at Evie.

"Alright fine."

Not long after, Evie was dressed in a hospital gown with Jax sitting right by her side, tightly holding her hand.

Her assigned doctor was currently running tests to confirm if she in fact suffered a miscarriage.

The wait time seemed to feel like a fucking eternity.

A nurse entered the hospital room, causing Jax to stand to his feet with his hand still entangled with Evie's.

"Is the baby okay?," Evie asked.

"They are still running tests, hun. I'm actually here to do a rape kit."

Evie felt Jax's sorrowful eyes burn a hole in the side of her head.

His free hand gently caressed her dark tresses.

"I.. I stopped him before he did anything."

She nodded at Evie, continuing to open the bag.

"We need to be sure. Victims can black out and not remember the incident."

Evie also nodded and laid down on the hospital bed.

"Sir, do you mind stepping out for a moment?"

"I'm not leaving her."

She silently sighed as she moved Evie's feet into stirrups.

"Ms. Roosevelt, you okay with him staying in the room?"

"Yes."

"Okay."

Evie's eyes looked up into the fluorescent lights above her, tears falling out of the sides of each eye.

Evie's eyes remained on the lights above her until the doctor came in.

With the help of Jax, she sat up straight, eagerly waiting for the results.

"Ms. Roosevelt, I'm Dr. Turner."

"Hi," she greeted weakly, swallowing the large lump that has formed in her throat as they waited.

Dr. Turner flipped the top page upward on his clipboard in hand before dropping it back down, rereading her results.

"Considering the unfortunate events that have occurred, the baby is okay."

Evie immediately began to cry with an equally emotional Jax holding her close in his strong protective arms.

"What caused the bleeding?," Evie asked, wiping her tears.

"A high amount of stress can trigger bleeding which does make sense considering what happened to you less than an hour ago."

Jax's jaw clenched while Evie hung onto every word that came from the doctor's mouth.

"I am putting you on mandatory bed rest until your next doctor's appointment. Your levels are not where I would like them to be."

Oh lord.

Mandatory bed rest?

They have two boys.

She has work.

"Mandatory?", Evie asked, getting a nod from the doctor.

"Yes. I trust your boyfriend here will see that will happen."

"Absolutely," he replied, kissing the side of Evie's head.
