Chapter 30: The Devil's Last Test

At the arena, Hwoarang was happy that he and Jin are about to face off in the sparring match for the second time.

"Okay, Kazama... no more interruptions like last time. I'm going to end your draw on me today."

"Come at me, Hwoarang." Jin calmly smirks on his rival and both go on their fighting stance and both are equally lands a powerful kick to start a fight.

Back at Rhima's assigned room, Lee eventually sits down after learning of Hunyo and his family from their world became another casualities caused by Kazuya and G Corporation according to Keiya.

"After you told me about Zafina, Mr. Lee... How come you became upset?"

"It breaks my heart of losing a friend, Rhima-san. Something I really felt in my whole heart." Lee answered in a sad tone.

"..."

"Sorry about this, Rhima-san... The truth is, me and your father Hunyo. We had a massive argument six months ago. It's because of Kazuya's request of making that time machine so that all of us would be back to our world. But according to Hunyo, he says that we can get through the real world anytime because we're still partners." Lee reveals his massive fall out with Hunyo and he tells her. "You know what, if Hunyo was killed in the real world, since his other self and his family's dimensional counterparts are also dead. I would be breaking down emotionally over his loss."

"Mr. Lee..."

"Ever since I was a kid and just like Kazuya we hated our father Heihachi's harsh treatment despite he and I were rivals." Lee said reminiscing of how Heihachi harshly raised them until Rhima gets one of his new productive gadgets, much to his horrible surprise. "Rhima-san... give me that!"

"But why, Mr. Lee... It's only a miniature version of Combot's head." Rhima wondered about his gadgets which makes him retort in a grunt look.

"It may looked like Combot's head, it was an improvised explosive device made up by me. I can throw this on my opponent filled with elegance and roses to make deadly damage on them."

"Ohhh..."

"So where's Hunyo now, Rhima-chan... I was expecting to meet you again and your other uncle from the Interpol." Lee asked Rhima where Hunyo is which she answers his question.

"My dad was on the way to the volcanic island within Taal Volcano. He's going to stop the last and final bomb to be detonated by that bomb terrorist who destroyed Silveria Corporation from his deadly explosives."

"So that's why I can't get through the real world because of this. Especially in Jin's case of wanting to see you for a long time." Lee said realizing their real problems and soon reveals to Rhima about Jin's deadly fight with his father Kazuya. "Also, Rhima-san... did Jin told you about how he had fought Kazuya in a chaotic battle in New York."

"He actually said it himself from me. But he couldn't tell me the rest. He actually shows his frustration after his father had hold back on his fight with him."

"Since he didn't tell you the rest. I might even tell you a few. The two continued to clash each other within their respective devil powers and Jin has the upper hand. But Kazuya overpowers him. You saw his subconscious, right."

"Yes... in a vision and he was desperate to call me while living a normal life in the real world." Rhima said answering his question and Lee finally tells her more.

"That distress call he gave you. Because he needs you. That is when his devil side is about to take control of him in which they both join forces. Jin's devil form had emerge to face Kazuya in his devil form but in a different clothing."

Rhima was saddened after learning of Jin's current loss and how he and his devil form joining sides to battle Devil Kazuya as she thought.

I was very angry at him for ruining my life at the real world despite he almost killed me from his Rage Art. I also made him so sorry for his recent actions of trying to bother me throughout my life. All this time, it was his last distress call on me before his devil within him takes over. I'm so selfish...

Back at the arena, Hwoarang executes his Hunting Hawk towards Jin to get damage following by a multiple of kicks and Jin retaliates by using his Twin Lancer and knocking him with a Demon's Paw.

"Not too shabby, Kazama... it's going to be messy if we keep this up."

"Your kicks are getting improved than the last time we had spar, Hwoarang. Bring it on...!"

Hwoarang smirks until the chorus song of "Bonamana" has been played, much to his annoyance and to Jin's curiosity.

"Hey! Who's playing K-Pop music, it's annoying!?"

It reveals that Roderick is dancing the chorus song and was watched by Asuka, Lili, Lee and Rhima and Victor arrives to see what they are doing.

"That dance was amazing... but J-Pop and J-Rock are more popular than that." Asuka commented nicely in a Osakan dialect and Rhima replies.

"K-Pop music was popular at my place in the Philippines. A lot of fans sometimes are crazy on any K-Pop Girl or Boy group. Both J-Pop and J-Rock sometimes are popular when they played both opening and endings of any anime series."

"This song is quite familiar, Ms. Rhima..."

"Oh, it's you, Mr. Chevalier..."

"I think some French people are so crazy over these Asian groups." Victor said noticing the recent trend within Rhima's world and finally apologizes to her. "About earlier for telling the truth about the Panganiban family here in this world, I'm formerly apologizes for making you cry emotionally. This is how I did for breaking someone's hearts and I never expect you got affected by my words."

"I accept your apology." Rhima eventually accepts his apology and both Dr. Bosconovitch and Alisa arrive to see them.

"Is it okay if I let my daughter can do that dance steps. She is able to copy if some of you can dance like that."

"Rhima-san... please... may I do the honors too. I need a little warm up before I spar with Lars." Lee pleaded for Rhima to play some K-Pop songs which she reluctantly accepts.

"I know Hwoarang didn't like K-Pop music, Mr. Lee... and I think this song might do."

Both Jin and Hwoarang continued their match equally as he goes in his Heat state while Jin does the same. Hwoarang executes his Heat Smash on Jin using Trinity Claymore but Jin blocks the move and continues to make a combo on him that ends with his Heat Smash move, Hellfire Darkside Slayer.

"I want to break that draw now!"

"I'm pretty clueless who's playing that strange music." Jin said curiously about the K-Pop music while putting his right hand on his hip and Hwoarang retorts over his curiosity.

"That was K-Pop music, Jin... and I really hate that music genre at my place."

Suddenly, the song "Sorry, Sorry" has been played and Hwoarang was even more annoyed than before as he angrily yells.

"Grrr! Can't you at least cut that music!"

Without warning, he ended up getting defeated by Jin by beating up with his Keito and Black Wing Rondo followed by a Low Chop - Karmic Epic Center and going Zenshin to execute his Halberd Heel, knocking him out. Lee, Roderick and Alisa had danced the song by following the beat. Rhima, Asuka and Lili are amazed to see their performance and she stops the music.

"I wish if I had these popular music trends like that, Ms. Rhima." Lili smiled as Asuka eagerly wants her to see her dance.

"Rhima-san... I heard you can dance like your uncle. Can you do it for us?"

"Really? She can do that?" Lee said wanting to know which Rhima shrugs on both of them.

"All right... I always do this by myself. I heard the Peruvian girl that me and Jin had met is also known to do choreography dance like that."

Rhima instead playing "Party Rock Anthem" where she dances in a shuffle dance, much to their delight. Surprisingly, Jin arrives to play along with her while they danced after he defeated Hwoarang in a sparring match. Alisa and the others are laughing at him when Rhima was horribly surprised over his presence. After this, they clapped over their dance performance.

"Next time, Jin... you don't have to show up by surprise if I was dancing." Rhima said in disappointment over his presence which he reveals to her about the K-Pop music she had played.

"I think it was you who played that strange music and Hwoarang gets annoyed after hearing of it."

"Forgive me, Jin... a lot of fighters including Mr. Lee are requesting me to play the song because Uncle Roddy knows the dance moves." Rhima said apologizing for what happened as Hwoarang arrives and seeing it was Rhima who played the K-Pop songs and scolds her.

"And next time, Rhima. Don't play those K-Pop songs again. Why don't you play that song elsewhere. I prefer rock music than that."

As Hwoarang left, they were disappointed to ruin the hype and Lee pacifies Rhima.

"It's okay, Rhima-san... just let Hwoarang's steam to go to waste."

After the sparring match, Rhima decided to lurk outside of the main headquarters, alone after learning from Lee about Jin's loss to his father Kazuya in their climatic battle. It was later revealed that she had a discussion with Victor about how to lure their enemy from their trap. For her self-decisions causing both Jin and Lee to search for her whereabouts. Meanwhile at the Yakushima Island, Jun's meditation was disrupted due to the moving trees and the wind takes on another direction, sensing it's evil presence.

Rhima arrives at the forest hill and tries to remember about Lee's word. She had never expect Jin would lose to his own father as she thought.

Hybrid people are more stronger than a Pure breed. Mr. Mishima knows what his son had previously done but their fight is not over yet. I made myself a live bait to the enemy by luring them into our trap. I guess both Jin and Mr. Lee didn't know what I was doing right now.

Therefore, she noticed Jin was there who is tired and exhausted from searching for her whereabouts and she had mumbled.

"I can't believe it, he can still follow me wherever I go. He's really desperate."

Back at the UN main headquarters, Lars receives a call from an anonymous caller.

"Are you completely lost your mind!? How can you get through their main headquarters?"

"Take it easy, I'm not getting overboard and I might go there by riding a chopper." The anonymous caller said and her voice became cheerful. "I'm sure Jin-senpai was with you."

"Look, if you're looking for Jin, he was with Lee looking for Rhima and her whereabouts. We just don't want her to get captured by Kazuya and G Corporation like they did previously." Lars replied plainly to the anonymous caller as she normally speaks.

"Hmmm, all right... I might go follow them in their search."

As she hung up her phone, the anonymous caller was revealed to be Reina who sits at the throne within the secluded training ground as she thought.

So Jin-senpai was searching for that woman named Rhima, huh? I have my chance to fight him. But for that Rhima person, I want to know who she is.

As soon as she decided to leave, Jin stops her on time after seeing her presence.

"Rhima-san... wait."

"..."

"You look so sad... is it because of Hwoarang scolding you by playing that music?" Jin wanted to know why she was sad as she replies sadly.

"I'm sad because of you... Now I know everything of what happened to you."

"!"

"Despite you overpowered Mr. Mishima twice, but you still lost. Because he easily knows of how capable you became in a brutal fight in your devil state." Rhima said knowing of his loss and Jin responds to her.

"It is true... I lost to Mishima Kazuya when we clashed each other in our devil forms. He wants me to face him in that state."

"In my subconscious since I was defeated by my own father, my devil side had told me to join forces by giving his demonic hand to me, telling me that I must live with my own sins that I wanted to atone and to find my atonement by living in solitude." Jin explained clearly to Rhima of how he and his devil form are joining forces and Rhima tells him.

"You're not alone, Jin. You have friends including me and your family like both Lars and Lee. Even Hwoarang did his best to coop up with you just for fighting and both Xiaoyu and your mother Mrs. Kazama. It's because of them, this strengthens your human side to fight your devil within you."

Jin realizes that Rhima was right, it was the reason why he remains in human form because of his friends and family who is very close to him and he calmly replies.

"You were right, Rhima-san..."

Rhima nods knowing that she trusts Jin and he soon faces her.

"I have one last test to you, Rhima-san and I know you wouldn't like it."

"What is the last test?" Rhima asked him and Jin answers in a smirk.

"Face your fears... I know that you were afraid of my devil side and I will brought it out."

"Are you serious about this, Jin. I know how horrible he was by attempting to kill me or trying to eat me. Which is why Rei saves me from you until you restrained yourself." Rhima reacted angrily as Jin raises his brow on her.

"The more you speak and more mistakes. I know my devil side is carnivorous on humans like us and like my old self, who wants power."

"..."

"I know my father Kazuya would try this to you. So I decided to give you one final test if you overcome your fear." Jin said as he crosses both of his hands and his devil markings are finally showing on his forehead including its third eye and he angrily roars to transform with shades of red lightning are engulfing throughout the forest hill.

His transformation was found by both Lee and Alisa by air as Alisa carries Lee while flying with her jet-packed wings.

"That red lightning...?"

"It's coming from Jin's. Seems like he wants to test Rhima again. Sparring with her was okay but something like this, it's highly dangerous for her." Lee said became concern over Jin's plan and tells Alisa. "Alisa, we have to get there, quickly."

"Yes..." Alisa said as flies straight while she carries him.

Rhima finally looked to see the entire smoke and it clears to show Jin's devil form, Devil Jin but in a different outfit and she remembers how she was afraid of him upon meeting each other for the first time. But since, Jin wants her to overcame her fear of his devil form and she had no choice but to fight him.

"We meet again, my dear. Seems like we're going to have a blood fest with me."

Rhima became sigh when he spoke to her as she thought of his devil form.

I shouldn't pretend to be an average person being so scared of him. But now I showed what I'm really am and having energy ki powers like his mom. If Jin wants me to overcome his devil self, then he got it...

With this, Devil Jin happily enjoys to fight Rhima which she looks on and go on her fighting stance, ready to battle the devil within Jin.

*Rhima references people in real-life who were fans in a K-Pop girl or boy group by playing their popular K-Pop songs.

*Victor finally shows his real personality for showing his like of romance when he formally apologizes to Rhima for making her cry after seeing her family's dimensional counterparts became casualties in the global war.

*Hwoarang displays his annoyance while showing his dislike of K-Pop music.

*Reina who is one of the new characters in Tekken 8, made her debut in today's chapter while speaking to Lars within their cellphones. Since she has no special interaction with Lars during her gameplay and reveal trailer.

*Devil Jin finally made his appearance since The Strangest Things 2: Time and Again who is now wearing his new main outfit in Tekken 8 when he is about to fight Rhima at the end of the chapter.
