Chp 5: Obsidian Fog part 3
"This isn't good, what're we going to do?" Asked Juvia.
"Our option is to find Mostaza and take him out, that's the only way we can get out of here alive." Carla said.
"But how the hell are we supposed to find the bastard? I mean with all this gas in the air me and the kid here can't track his scent." Gajeel said.
"He's right we can't breathe in the air here and even if the gas isn't harmful it would block his scent." Wendy added.
"Well we need to do something or we're gonna die!" Abner freaked out.
Zodie then noticed April walk down the hall a bit and she discovered something. "Hey guys come over here."
"What's up April?"
"Notice anything different about the gas then from where we were standing it's more dense over where i'm at."
"What're you gettin at here kid?" Asked Gajeel.
"I'm saying that the more we get closer to the source we'll be able to find this Mostaza guy, but the thicker the poison gas will be, there's already a limit to how much the mask will filter."
"Geehee, so all we gotta do is run head first into the storm and take this guy out." Gajeel then ran into the direction of denser parts of the gas. "Good I was getting tired of standing around with Juvia running after him.
"You five stay here where the gas is less dense and look for Juno." Juvia ordered.
The kids nodded and did as told.
Back inside the kids and Carla were moving throughout the school where the gas was less thick.
"She said she went to the bathroom so at least we know she's safe but still, we'd better check on her." Said Wendy. The group made it to the door of the girls bathroom and Wendy knocked; they couldn't open the door because they worried the gas would spread inside. "Juno are you okay some weird stuff has happened and Putrid Carnage is here, there's poison gas all around the building we need to know if your ok''
"Maybe she got out when the gas appeared or something." April suggested.
"Without telling us." Carla said. "I can't put my paw on it but there's something about that girl I don't trust. She shows up out of nowhere and right before the gas rolls in she vanishes, I just have a bad hunch about these things."
"Maybe your hunch is wrong, right Zodie back me up here." But the said boy was nowhere to be seen. "Where'd he go?"
Outside with Abner he was currently hiding behind a tree clutching it freaking out and sweating bullets. "Oh man this crazy I…I gotta do something or my friends are gonna die in there." He peeked out from the tree and saw there were only three wizards. "Ok just three guys they don't look like they're made for combat but only for magic involving putting up barriers, and it looks like they need to keep up that position to keep the barrier up, so all I need to do is take them out." Abner drew his violin and pick. "Ok Ab it's your turn to kick some ass."
Inside Mostaza was currently sitting in a chair surrounded by a large stream of gas. "Huh, it looks like there's three or two people heading towards me, it seems they figured out how to track me down, good just as I expected like flies falling right into the spider's web."
The two former phantom lord members raced through the thick wafting gas getting thicker with each step they took. "It's getting thicker here somewhere."
As Mostaza heard them coming he reached into his shirt and pulled out a magic revolver. Gajeel shot up out of the smoke. "Iron dragon cl-." But the iron dragon's attack was stopped when Mostaza fired his gun at Gajeel's face; the bullets bounced off him due to turning his skin into iron but unfortunately the impact broke his mask.
"Gajeel, if you think you can defeat us with that little gun of yours you're wrong, my body as you saw is impervious to physical attacks like bullets."
"Good things, these aren't normal bullet chica." Suddenly Gajeel felt a strong surge of electricity course through his body causing immense pain. "This gun fires lightning bullets, something you two are susceptible to." Gajeel concealed himself in the gas and tried to attack from behind but Mastoza merely ducked and rolled and fired another round at the iron dragon then at Juvia shocking them greatly. "I should also tell you that I can also detect movement in the gas by reading its fluctuation, there's no sneaking up on me." Juvia fires a stream of water at Mostaza but he quickly dodges resulting in Gajeel taking the hit.
"Gajeel no!" Mostaza fires another bullet only missing Juvia by a hair but the bullet explodes and electricity grazes the water mage greatly.
"I was hoping two former s-class mages would put up more of a fight but I was wrong." The gas mask man made his way towards Gajeel and stomped on his back with the gun pointed at him. "Say good night." Right as Mostaza was gonna finish him off he felt a powerful force hit him in the chest pushing him back making him stagger. "What the hell!" The gas wizard saw that it was none other than Zodie who delivered the kick. "You cheeky brat you'll pay!" Right as Mostaza was about to fire Zodie then disappeared from sight. "Where are you!" 'Dammit I didn't know he could turn invisible. I can read his movements in the fluctuations in the gas but that does me no good when I can't see him.' He thought.
Zodie was helping Juvia out of the room and took her to safety. "Juvia, are you okay?"
"Yes I'm fine thank you, but Gajeel isn't looking too good he can read our movements in the gas so it's impossible to sneak up on him."
"I think I've got an idea for that wait here."
"No Zodie wait!"
Back with Mostaza he kept up his assault on Gajeel by stomping on him. "Damn my vision is getting blurry!"
"I think it's time we put an end to this." Suddenly a strong wind current kicked in causing the gas to spiral and making Mostaza stagger. "What the hell is going on." He looked to see that Zodie was using his sprouted wings to generate wind currents by flapping them.
"You're pretty strategic with the way you used your magic by trapping us in here, but that's probably the only thing you know how to do, you're not really much of a fighter are you."
"Why you?" Right as Mostaza was about to fire his weapon he was intercepted by a long iron club sending him into a wall knocking him out. The gas then began to disperse quickly making it possible for the air to be breathable. Gajeel was a bit wobbly as he was catching his breath. Wendy, April, and Abner all raced in with their masks off.
"Guys you're okay thank goodness." Said Wendy.
"Wh…where Mostaza?" Asked Abner.
"Gajeel took care of him with my help, by the way Wendy he and Juvia are a little banged up so they'll need you to heal him."
"Right, I'm on it."
Back outside with Abner while the dark wizards were still focusing on the barrier one of them was hit by a massive shockwave knocking them to the ground. "Time to face the music mother flunkers!" Abner strummed his violin making it glow and having miniature storm clouds appear above them delivering powerful jolts of lightning to the remaining two. Now with all three taken out Abner stood triumphant. "Oh yeah that's right I came I crashed and I kicked so-." He was then struck from behind by a massive fist to the back, he looked up and saw a massive man; also a member of Putrid carnage. He was a brawler. Abner tried to reach for his viola but the man titan crushed it with his foot. The titan stomped closer and closer, ready to finish the boy off till he was struck from behind by a long iron mace sending him flying into a tree.
"You alright kid?" Abner saw that it was Gajeel along with everyone else.
"Guy's you're okay, you made it."
"All thanks to you man, way to go." April suddenly noticed that Abners viola was crushed.
"Oh Ab im sorry about your violin."
"Ah don't worry I keep an extra one in the band room." Abner then noticed someone was missing. "Hey where'd Juno go?"
"We thought she ran outside here with you, we haven't been able to find her." Wendy answered.
"We can't worry about her right now, we need to focus on our mission and getting this elixir into the atmosphere." Said Carla.
"How're we supposed to do that exactly?" Asked Gajeel.
"Perhaps Cassidy will now, Abner is he still here?" Juvia asked.
"Yeah he's right ove-." The said wizard was nowhere to be seen. Till Zodie spotted him running away with his arms restrained.
"Oh hell no!" Gajeel charged like a raging bull and tackled Cassiy putting him in a headlock.
"Oh come on!" Cassidy complained.
"How do we get this antidote in the air to cure everyone!?"
"Gee, maybe throw it in the air."
Gajeel turned his arm into a saw, scarring Cassidy.
"Okay okay, the guild has a device that can create a massive cloud, load it with anything and it'll make rain so much that everyone in earthland infected will be turned back to normal."
"And where's your guild located!?
Right as Cassidy was about to answer he was hit by a magical projectile from behind sending pain throughout his body before he went limp. The group looked up to see a member of putrid carnage in ninja like attire, he then tossed a kunai with a message on it towards Gajeel who caught it no problem. Juvia threw a stream of water at them but they disappeared.
"Oh man, that person and Cassidy are in the same guild and he just attacked him without remorse." April said.
"That's how it works in a dark guild kid." Said Gajeel inspecting the kunai and noticing the sheet of paper on it. "Look at this, it looks like a map."
"Looks like there's even a note." Juvia said. The water mage opened it up and read it. "We have your friend, you want her back to come to our guild, there's a map to provide you with the location."
"Anyone else smell a trap here?" Gajeel asked.
"We may not have a choice if what Cassidy said was true; it's our only chance to stop this madness." Said Carla.
Somewhere else at the putrid carnage's guild stood their master Mo'o and Wallace came up to him informing him of the news. "Master, we regret to inform you that Mostaza has been taken down and it seems the fairies along with their allies are on their way."
"You sound as though you're disappointed Wallace, see i'm tired of hunting them down myself so them coming here makes it all the more easier. I suppose I have you to thank for this my dear." They spoke to a silhouetted figure in the dark; a female.
And that's it for this story sorry it was short but now since you guys have good ideas for the stories i'd love to hear your ideas for the next and final part of the Obsidian Fog, and yogaratw607 any ideas for what I can do for the rainbow sakura story I can have them go to akane resort for another adventure.
