Under the Eiffel Tower...

Monarch had gotten his hands on Midoriya. Ladybug was utterly dumbfounded. She couldn't even understand how Volpina even fit into this plan. Why would she even do this? Well, she did know obviously but... to someone she'd never met before. Midoriya and her had never even met, let alone talked to one another.

She looked around at Class 1-A. They all looked just as hurt, maybe even more so. Especially Uraraka.

She was right there. Almost got her hands on him.

But... she slipped.

Ladybug then noticed something in her hands. She almost let out a gasp.

It was the Fox Miraculous.

"Uraraka... How'd you?" Ladybug asked, still shocked by what had just happened, "I-It's the Fox Miraculous. You have it."

Everyone turned to Uraraka and spotted it in her hands. Cat Noir couldn't believe it.

"We have another Miraculous?" Cat Noir said a little too excited.

Uraraka shot a sudden glare at him and threw it at the heroes.

"That's all you have to say?! We just lost Deku, and all you care about is a stupid Miraculous?!" Uraraka cried, feeling tears coming out.

"This is just a piece of jewelry!" Iida yelled at them, "And now we just lost our friend to it!"

"Poor Midoriya..." Aoyama whimpered, "I almost got through to him..."

Ashido rubbed his back for support, knowing how much he cared about him.

"I'm sure Midoriya will be okay," Ashido told him, "He's strong enough to fight against Monarch."

"Are you kidding me, Ashido? Did you not see him?" Jirou asked her, "He was clearly exhausted. He needs our help."

"How?" Kirishima yelled, "We don't even know where Monarch's hiding!"

Cat Noir started to back away real slowly, getting a really guilty and terrible feeling from all of this. Then, he bumped into someone he wished he didn't.

"Cat Noir?" Mr. Aizawa said very intensely. Everyone turned around to see Cat Noir almost bolting out of there.

"You were just gonna leave us?!" Sato cried, "Our friend just got captured by the enemy!"

"Everyone needs to settle down!" Mr. Aizawa demanded with his quirk activated.

After everything quieted down for a brief moment, he soon faced Cat Noir yet again. Ladybug stood behind him, too nervous to find out what he might tell them.

"Cat Noir?" Ladybug said, getting his attention, "Wh-Why were you about to leave? Marinette's fine. I checked on her earlier before I got here..."

That's at least what she hoped he was doing. Going to check on a fellow civilian.

But something told her that wasn't the case this time around as his cat ears lowered in shame.

"Can we talk about this away from them? Please?" Cat Noir begged quietly so no one else would hear.

She looked at everyone around her. The distraught Class 1-A that just helped them with not only another Akumatized villain, but just got back another Miraculous. They've even gotten closer to finding out who Monarch is. She felt really bad for them since they're now stuck here because of something she brought up about a week ago.

And now she had lost one of them.

She was in love with him, sure. But this was more important.

"I'm sorry, Cat Noir," Ladybug said with a stern face, "But this is urgent. We just got a friend captured by Monarch. This has never happened before. Please, tell me why you were about to leave. Now."

Cat Noir was actually more scared of letting down Ladybug than anyone else here. So, to see her this stern with him. He had no choice but to tell her what he knew.

"Monarch is... Gabriel Agreste..."

In Monarch's Lair...

Lila carried Midoriya as she looked around Monarch's fancy lair. She had never seen his lair or stepped foot in it before.

She was actually impressed.

It was huge like a dome. The ceiling must've been almost twenty feet tall. There was a window that opened up to see the great city of Paris.

"That must be where he finds his next akumatized villains," Lila thought as she admired the view a little too much.

She flinched when she bumped into someone tall. It was him. Only, he still looked like HawkMoth.

"Thank you, Lila," HawkMoth said to his former ally, "I knew you'd follow through with the plan."

"Tsk, it wasn't that hard," Lila said as she adjusted her grip, "Where can I put Izuku? He's weighs a ton."

Monarch gave her the tour as they headed to the opposite side of the window. There were chains, and they looked brand new. He had set it up just for him.

"You set this all up just for this plain looking kid? Why can't you just use all of the Miraculous to get the Ladybug and Black Cat Miraculous?" Lila asked him as she put Midoriya down next to the chains.

"I tried that a couple times, and it was too much on my body. Apparently, using too many Miraculous at once wears out the holder. So, I decided to distribute them to anyone who I knew would help me out. Like you," HawkMoth explained to her as she attached the chains around his wrists, torso and ankles.

Lila noticed that the chains were really heavy. But there was something else about them that were strange.

"Are these chains made of led or something? This kid doesn't look that strong."

"These chains are made of the same material as the Miraculous. Very heavy and dense. I also added a little something to them, but I don't want to ruin the surprise," HawkMoth explained while pushing a button. A weird, greenish energy subtly surged out of Midoriya's body and into the chains. "You see that energy, Lila. That's his... quirk."

"Quirk?" Lila said letting out a chuckle, "What's a quirk? Never heard of it."

HawkMoth was intrigued to tell her what he'd found out through his mind alone. There was so much to tell her.

"Oh, Lila. You should stay for awhile. We have much to discuss about his Japan."

Under the Eiffel Tower...

Ladybug didn't want to think that Cat Noir, her long time partner, would ever keep a secret like this. It just didn't make any sense to her. They've been through so much together. She thought they were close enough to tell each other these sorts of things right away.

He... He loved her so much and now...

"How could you not tell me?" Ladybug asked him with everyone beside her, "We've been partners since the very beginning. I trusted you. I even fell for..."

Ladybug stopped herself. This wasn't the time for that. Not when Midoriya was captured by Gabriel Agreste, of all people.

Then, it hit her like a ton of bricks. She almost felt like she was about to collapse.

"Ladybug?" Mr. Aizawa asked her as he held her up, "You okay?"

"No, I'm not. I... just... Deku. He knew something about a certain someone and was following him to school. That's why he was there. He didn't trust them, but I've known him longer than you guys. But, I told him that he's a good person, and he wouldn't do anything to hurt the people he cared about," Ladybug said as she turned back to Cat Noir with tears in her eyes.

It started to rain, not too hard or too soft. There was no thunder in sight. But no one batted an eye.

Ladybug just stared at her partner, afraid of what might happen next.

"Cat Noir, do you remember when I gave Adrien the Dog Miraculous?" Ladybug asked him.

"No, you gave it to Felix. You told me yourself. You thought Felix was Adrien because they look so much alike," Cat Noir explained, really nervous.

Ladybug looked really upset, like she really didn't want to do this right now. But she is still the guardian of the Miraculous, and she had no other choice in the matter.

"But, some things have come up, and now I know why I couldn't find him..."

Cat Noir felt her blue eyes piercing right through his mask. The lady he use to love so much was starting to see right through him. He actually felt like a small cat right then and there. Soon enough, both of their Miraculous started beeping. Cat Noir started to panic, but not Ladybug. She stood tall.

"Cat Noir... I need to know as Guardian of the Miraculous... You're Adrien Agreste, aren't you?"

His green eyes widened as he felt everything crashing down on him. He didn't want her to find out this way. He had to get out.

Unfortunately, he didn't have to answer her. His ring stopped beeping, and he detransformed right in front of Class 1-A. Everyone couldn't believe it, except Mr. Aizawa.

"The fashion model?!" Ashido cried, but quickly covered her own mouth.

Even though Ladybug knew, it still hurt her. A lot. Probably a lot more than he even realized. She... loved him.

Both sides of him.

"La-Ladybug..." Adrien said very distraught.

She put her hand up, silencing him.

"Don't. You've said enough, partner," Ladybug said harshly, "You're lucky I don't take your Miraculous. We still need you to help us defeat your father."

Adrien never expected Ladybug to let him keep the Miraculous, let alone help them on the mission.

"Come on, Class 1-A. We need to save Deku and defeat Monarch," Ladybug told them as her earrings began to beep once again, "You can come if you want, Cat Noir... Adrien... but you probably won't like what you see under the mask."

Adrien froze in place, not daring to take another step forward. Ladybug left with Class 1-A, leaving Adrien behind in the rain.

Another crazy chapter! Honestly, I think this is one of my favorite chapters I've written so far. I really like the fact that it's raining in the last part. I think it fits very well. Now that Ladybug knows Adrien is Cat Noir, what's going to happen next??
