A/N: This will be my first original chapter. It is something that diverges from Transformers Prime, and Power Rangers Time Force. This chapter will feature a mutant, that has never before, been seen in Power Rangers Time Force. The reason for this, is that I wanted to broaden Jack's horizon; when it comes down to his training. I also wanted to explore more of the relationship, that would be developing between Jack and Miko.
Now that we got all that squared away.
"LET'S ZOOM THE COSMOS!"
Jack was currently in a park, in Silver Hills; with the rest of The Rangers. He was wearing a dark red tank top, a pair of black track pants; and his usual sneakers. The Rangers were also wearing workout clothes. As leader, Jen had made a unilateral, and non-negotiable decision. She decided, that if Jack was going to keep The Quantum Morpher; and join them, in their battles. Then he would have to know how to fight. So, whenever he got any free time; Jack would be put through training. Since he was the new guy, and a kid; the other Rangers made sure to go easy on him.
But not Jen. She never showed Jack any special treatment. Jack swung a punch at her. Only for Jen to catch his fist, punch Jack, in the ribs; and sweep his feet, out from under him. She then got Jack into an arm bar. "You need to take this more seriously! With a little more pressure, I could break your arm. Ransik, and his mutants, won't show you any mercy. When you're on the battlefield; you'll be fighting for your life."
"Take it easy, Jen!" Lucas said.
"Don't you think you're being a little hard on him?" Trip asked.
"Yeah. Don't forget! He's still, just a kid." Katie added.
"That's no excuse." Jen lectured. She released her hold on Jack's arm; and then they both got to their feet. "Kid, or not; he needs to understand what's at stake." She then turned towards Jack. "If you want to be a Ranger; that means risking your life. And your enemies, they aren't going to fight fair. One mistake. That's all it takes. Make one mistake, and you could die."
"I know what I sighed up for. Yet, I'm still here. Growing up, I would never have even dreamed, that I would have this kind of life. But, the reason I'm doing all of this; is because I keep telling myself, that it's right. I know the odds I'll be facing. I'm not afraid." Jack proclaimed.
"That's very brave of you, Jack. But maybe you should be. This isn't a game. There are no do overs. So, that's why; until I know that you can handle yourself, I'm going to put you through an intense training regiment. It will be long; and it will be tough. Whenever you're not at work, or school; you will be training, with me. You will learn how to fight. And how to function, as part of a team. But most importantly, you'll learn to take cues, from your leader." Jen instructed. Jack knew that she was referring to herself.
"Great! I can't wait!" Jack murmured, sarcastically.
"What was that?" Jen asked, with a stern expression, on her face.
Her response, made Jack snap back to reality. "Uh, nothing." He commented.
"Good. Then, let's get to it!" Jen said, as she struck a fighting pose. Jack let out a sigh of annoyance; before he too, got into a fighting stance.
Ransik held, in his hands, a capsule that contained the latest mutant; that he would unleash upon the city. He then went on to explain why he chose that mutant, specifically. "This mutant, trained to be one of the greatest swordsman, the future has ever seen.
He completely immersed himself, in the Japanese culture. So much so, that he took to calling himself "Samurai". The only thing he obsesses over more; is having a fight, with a powerful opponent. This caused him to carve a path of destruction, through the year 3000. I know how strong he is. The Rangers, are in for, quite the challenge." Ransik said, followed by an evil chuckle.
He placed the mutant, in the reanimation chamber. Within moments, Samurai was unfrozen, and back to full size. He stepped out of the chamber. He wore the traditional armor, of a samurai warrior. The main color of the armor, was black, with a silver trim. He had a red sash, tied around his waist. Underneath the armor, his body was that of metallic silver. He had bright green glowing eyes. "Free, at last!" Samurai declared.
"Yes. I freed you from your cryogenic state." Ransik said.
"Ransik, I am in your debt." Samurai claimed, before bowing.
"Good. And I know, just how you can repay me."
"Apologies! But, I have been imprisoned, for a long time. I feel as though, I must attend to my own business; before paying what I owe. I yearn to face a worthy foe, in battle."
"Why settle for just one strong opponent; when you could have six?" Ransik inquired.
"You know of such warriors?" Asked Samurai.
"Oh yes. They are called "Time Force Power Rangers" . "
"Where might I find them? Tell me, please! I must know!" Samurai implored. Ransik smiled at this. Samurai was so eager. Getting him to destroy The Rangers, would be easier than he thought.
Jack and The Rangers, were now, walking down the street. Jack was clutching his sides, in pain. Jen kicked his butt, in training. He got lucky; and managed to land one or two hits on her. But more often than not; most of Jack's time, was spent, on the ground. "Ow! I think I have more bruises, than skin!" Jack joked, as he rubbed his sides.
"Well, make sure you get a good night's rest! Because tomorrow, we're going to start the hard stuff." Jen informed him.
"This wasn't the hard stuff?" Jack asked, in bewilderment. Then, they heard a commotion, off in the distance. People were running, and screaming in terror. The Rangers went to go see what was causing all of this. At the center of the disturbance; they saw the armor cladded mutant. He shot energy blasts, near the ground; causing explosions, that the people were running from.
"Hey! Hold it, right there!" Wes command.
Samurai took notice, that unlike everyone else; these six individuals, stood their ground. They did not flea, like the others. Ransik had told him; that all he had to do, to draw out The Rangers, was to start causing trouble. Their were six of them; just like Ransik described. "Ah, so you must be The Rangers. I have come here, for one reason; and one reason, only. To fight you."
"Wait! Just like that?" Trip questioned.
"Of course. Ransik has informed me of your strength. I seek only one thing. To do battle, with a worthy opponent. Come! We shall now fight, to the death." Said Samurai.
"Well, he is asking for it." Lucas murmured.
"You want a fight? Then, you got it." Jen declared.
"Excellent!" Samurai said, before some liquid metal, covered the lower half of his face; and then solidified into a red, traditional samurai mask. To showcase more of his abilities; large blades, were generated out of his gauntlets. "My body has the power to generate any type of metal. However." He said, as he made the blades disappear. Liquid metal, ran down his arm; until it formed a long object. The metal solidified; changing the object into a sword. "The Samurai Sword, is my favorite weapon." Even Jack had to admit, that was pretty cool.
Thankfully, all the civilians were gone. So, no one would see them morph. "Ready?" Jen asked her friends.
"Ready." Her friends confirmed.
"TIME FOR TIME FORCE!"
"QUANTUM-POWER!"
After The Rangers were morphed; they got ready for a fight. They pulled out their blasters; and shot at Samurai. But, being the skilled swordsman, that he was; Samurai used his sword, to deflect all the shots. Not a single laser, hit him. "Cowards! You attack with such crude weapons. You lack honor. I mean to fight you, with my sword. Surly, there must be at least one swordsman, among you." Samurai said.
"Jack, stay back!" Jen instructed, as she put her arm in front of him, blocking his path.
"What? But, won't you need my help?" He retorted.
"We have to see what this guy's all about. Hang back, and watch the fight! Maybe you'll learn something." Said Jen, before The Rangers pulled out their Chrono Sabers. They charged at Samurai. Sword clashed against sword. The Rangers fought their hardest; but they were no match for the swordsmanship of Samurai.
Sparks went flying, as Samurai slashed his sword across their suits. He then used his signature move. "LIGHTNING SWORD!" Samurai shouted. His sword was now charged, with blue electricity. With lightning speed, he delivered a hundred slashes to the bodies of The Rangers. The Rangers fell to the ground; their suits still smoking.
Jack went to go help the others. He bent down, to check on them. "Guys, are you okay?" After finding out, that they weren't too badly hurt; Jack rose to his feet. He aimed his Quantum Defender, right at the mutant.
"Go on! Fight, like your allies! Have you, no honor?" Samurai questioned, while clutching his sword.
"So, you want a sword fight? Do ya? Fine by me." Jack pushed the button, on the Quantum Defender. It went from blaster, to blade mode. "It's a blaster, and a sword, all in one. It's every anime fan's dream weapon!" Jack quipped, before rushing towards Samurai.
"JACK, NO!" Shouted Jen. But it was too late. He had already engaged the enemy.
Jack,s technique was sloppy enough; that Samurai could predict every move he was going to make, before he made it. He used his sword, to deflect every single one of the Quantum Ranger's strikes. Jack didn't even land a hit on him. However, Samurai unleashed several powerful strikes, upon Jack. Jack fell to the ground.
"You are all a disgrace! Not one of you, has offered me a decent challenge." Samurai mocked. This upset Jack. He got up; and started to fight, once more. But again, and again, and again; Samurai knocked him down. Jack refused to stay down, though. He always got back up. The mutant took notice of Jack's courage, and determination. It was like, he had an unbreakable spirit. The next time that Jack fell down; he dropped his sword. He was going to get back up; until Samurai stood above him, and started to speak.
"Can you continue?" His question, caught Jack, off guard. "I will not strike a downed opponent. Especially, an unarmed one. It would be dishonorable. So, if you can still fight; then, pick up your weapon, and rise up!" Samurai instructed. Jack did as he was told, and fought back. It didn't make much of a difference, though. Samurai's next attacks, forced Jack to take a knee. He then tried to support his weight, by bracing the blade of his sword, into the ground; and leaning on its handle.
"Maybe I was a little harsh, in my judgment. Specifically, when it comes to you, Quantum Ranger. Next time, I will be coming for you." Samurai proclaimed, as he pointed at Jack. He then turned around, and walked away, before disappearing.
"Wait! Come back! We're not done." Jack said, before he fell over. He had very little strength left. His suit zapped off his body; due to all the damage he took. The other Rangers, then helped him back to the Clock Tower.
Back at the Clock Tower, Jen was looking for Samurai, in the database; while some of the others, tended to Jack's injuries. "According to the files; we're dealing with a mutant, who became obsessed with the Japanese culture. Specifically, the way of the Samurai warriors.
Even his armor, is comprised of the same metal, that makes up his body. He trained, extensively, in sword play. Until, one day, training wasn't enough for him. He's been looking for a worthy opponent. He started attacking, and challenging anyone he saw, to a fight. That's what led up to his arrest." Jen stated.
"Where do you guys get all of this information from?" Jack inquired.
The Rangers started to get nervous. They couldn't let Jack discover their secret. Thankfully, that's when Jen stepped in. "That doesn't matter. What does matter; is that during the fight, I told you to stay back, and you didn't."
"You guys needed my help. And I am a Power Ranger. Isn't this, what we do?"
"Winning a few battles, doesn't make you a hero. And it doesn't mean you know everything, either. You still lack experience. You should've followed my orders. Because you didn't; Samurai has singled you out. Now, he'll be coming after you." Jen lectured.
"I never said, I knew everything. I'm not that arrogant. But, if Samurai comes for me; I'll take him down."
"Your training, is not yet complete. And until it is, you will not be fighting anyone. If you want to be a part of this team; then you will follow my lead! Got it?" Jen said, and then waited for Jack's response.
"Yeah! I got it!" Jack said, in annoyance, before leaving.
When he was gone; Jen began addressing the others. "Guys! I'm not so sure about this, anymore. Jack lacks the proper training, and discipline. He shouldn't even be a Ranger. I think we should take the morpher away from him!" Katie, along with Trip, and Lucas; immediately argued with Jen, about that. They thought that she was being too harsh; and a little too quick to judge. Jack has helped them out, , they could always use another Ranger. Wes, however, said nothing. He had managed to figure out, what this was really about.
"Jen, are you sure that this has to do with Jack's capabilities? Or, is it the fact that you're afraid, that him being a Ranger; could change the future?" There was no hiding anything from Wes. He could see, right through her.
"If something happens to Jack; the future could be affected! When Earth became aware of Cybertronians; Jack Darby, was their most vocal supporter. He paved the way for further peace talks. It wasn't just the fact that Earth and Cybertron; now had relations, with each other. But, thanks to Cybertronian science; the people of Earth were able to jumpstart their technology, centuries ahead of anything that was available, back then. There are even some Cybertronians, on Earth, in the year 3000. Without Jack Darby; who knows if we'd even have any of that?" Jen pondered.
"That's a lot to put on the shoulders, of a sixteen year old. I don't know about the future. But, what I believe; is that it wouldn't be wrong to put your faith in Jack. He was never trained to fight mutants. But, he can handle himself. And if not, that's what we're here for. Jack's a good kid. And based on what I've seen; he just wants to do what he can, to help out. Give him a chance! Let him show you, what he's made of!" Wes told Jen. He had given her, a lot to think about.
A short time later, Jack was wandering around Silver Hills; until he found a secluded spot. That suited him, just fine. He needed time to be alone, to think. He kept thinking about how Jen treated him. It was like, she was actively against him, for some reason. But then his thoughts drifted back to what she said, earlier. She told him, that his enemies weren't going to fight fair. Yet, when he met Samurai; that's all he ever did. Fight Fair. He refused to attack him, when he was down. He even let him retrieve his weapon.
It was clear that Samurai had a code of honor. He admitted, just as much. But before he could ponder this, any further; Samurai appeared, right in front of him. "We meet, again. Are you ready for our dual?" Samurai inquired.
"You tracked me down, just for a rematch?"
"I said that I would come for you. I am a mutant, of my word. Now, shall we begin?" Samurai murmured, as he readied his sword.
"Is that what this is all about? You want to fight me, just to prove you're the strongest? Is this all, just a game, to you?"
"Game? I cannot be more serious. I have committed my life, to the way of the Samurai. And like all Samurai warriors; I seek a worthy foe. An honorable end. Quantum Ranger, I have chosen you, as my opponent. Now, let us fight!" Samurai bowed, and then drew his sword.
"If that's what it takes, to end this. Fine! QUANTUM-POWER!" Jack morphed, drew his weapon; and the fight, began. The sound of metal against metal, could be heard; as their swords clashed with one another. Samurai delivered blow, after blow, with his sword. He threw in, a few kicks; before hitting Jack, in the abdomen, with the hilt of his sword.
"LIGHTNING SWORD!" Samurai yelled. Jack was then struck with a hundred, super quick strikes. He fell down. Jack was going to get back up. But Samurai placed his foot, on his torso; preventing him from going anywhere. "Impressive! Your swordsmanship, is virtually, non-existent. Yet, your spirit remains strong. You have potential. That is why you were chosen. Now, let me ask you this! If given more time; could you become stronger?"
Jack had to really think about his answer; before he spoke, again. He wanted to give an honest response. "I don't think it's impossible."
"Very well." Samurai said, before he removed his foot, from Jack's chest. He then held up, three fingers. "Three days."
"What?" Jack asked, as he got up.
"Three days." Samurai repeated. "I am giving you three days to train. You are a courageous warrior. I wish to see, how much further, you could progress. Be sure to get plenty of rest; as well as practice! Because, when your training period has ended; we will have our final battle. I will even offer you, an incentive. During the time it takes you, to prepare. I give you my word of honor; that I will not attack this city, or the people who live here."
"I can't imagine that Ransik is going to be ok with you giving humans, a free pass." Jack commented.
"You let me worry about Ransik! However, if, after the third day; you do not fight me. Then I will raise this city, to its foundation." Samurai then turned around, walked away; and disappeared, in a flash of light. Jack finally understood, the gravity of the situation. He couldn't afford, not to comply with Samurai. There was too much at stake.
Autobot base
Jack had arrived back at base; and was now hard at work, with his training. When Miko showed up; she asked what was new. Raf had been told, everything that happened, while Jack was in Silver Hills. So, he took it upon himself, to bring her up to speed. He told her everything about Jack's fight with Samurai; and about the arrangement, that was made.
"Where's Jack?" She asked.
"On the roof. He wanted to train; without being disturbed." Raf told her.
Miko got in the elevator; and made her way, to the roof. Atop the mountain, Jack was practicing his swing. Miko got off the elevator; and saw him swinging his Quantum Defender, in its blade mode. He was combining quick movements, with his swings. It was only when Jack took notice of her; that Miko chose to speak.
"You know? This Samurai, guy; may have challenged you. But, you don't have to play his game. I'm sure it would be alright, if you used your blaster, during the fight."
"No, it wouldn't. I saw what he can do. His skill was unmatched. He deflect every shot, that was fired at him. So, it wouldn't matter if I was any good, with a blaster. Jen told me, that winning a few fights, doesn't mean anything. And, she's right. Miko, I'm a Power Ranger! I still have trouble believing that, sometimes. This is one of the greatest things that could ever happen, to anyone. And yet, my swordsmanship is sloppy. I have almost zero, fighting experience. And on top of that; I haven't even mastered the new weapons, that are at my disposal.
Being The Quantum Ranger; is probably one of the most important things, I'll ever do. I have to do it right; and give it my all. Samurai is a master swordsman. If I want to beat him. Then I have to raise my level. I need to better myself. That's the only way!" He said, before continuing to swing his sword.
Miko was impressed by this. At first, she thought that he was doing this, because of ego; or some form of male pride. But no. He acknowledged his shortcomings, and wanted to improve. Jack swung his sword, one last time; before he stumbled, and lost his balance. Miko then rushed to his side. She tried to support him.
"Alright! I'll teach you, then." She said.
"What?" He murmured, before turning, to look at her.
"I'm from Japan, remember? Birthplace of The Samurai. And, not that you would know this next part. But, I took Kendo, when I was younger. So, if you want to win a sword fight, with this guy. Then, I'll train you. When you're ready, come back inside! I have to go get a few things. But when I get back; we start your training."
Sometime after that; Jack waited for Miko, in one of the empty rooms, of the base. It was big enough, that it could be used, as a makeshift dojo. When Miko entered the room; she brought with her, black protective padding. Two helmets, and two wooden swords. It was all typical equipment; that you would find in any Kendo dojo. She instructed Jack, to put on the padding. He did as he was told. Both of them, put on the black protective gear. They had everything on, except for their helmets. She then handed Jack, a wooden sword.
They hadn't even started yet; and already, Miko saw that Jack made his first mistake. "You're holding it wrong." Jack stared at her, with a questioning expression, on his face. "That's not how you hold a sword, in Japan. You hold a Japanese sword, with two hands. When a Samurai is on the battlefield; their sword becomes their life. Be good to your weapon! Treat it well; and it will never let you down. It deserves your respect. So, hold it, like this!" Miko said, as she placed her hands on Jack's; and guided them into their proper position.
Miko's hands, were still touching Jack's. This caused them to stare at one another. As they looked into each other's eyes; a blush appeared, on both of their faces. Miko became mesmerized. She had forgotten entirely, what they were doing. Then she snapped back to reality; and released Jack's hands. "Uh...so...anyway. You've got a dual, in three days. And I'm gonna make sure you're ready." After Miko said that; they put on their helmets, and got into a fighting stance.
Jack charged at her. They clashed their swords. Miko deflected Jack's attacks; before she used her sword, to strike the padding, on his chest. She then moved quickly; and tapped the back of his helmet, with her sword. "That's your second mistake. Keep your eyes focused on your opponent, not your weapon! Watch the enemy's movements! Learn to predict them; if you can! It could mean the difference, between life, and death." Miko instructed.
This is how it went, for the next three days. Whenever Jack had a spare moment; he and Miko would train. Sometimes she would have him practice how to properly swing his sword. Other times, they would spar. In the beginning; it was rare for him to land a hit, on her. But as Jack's training progressed; he was able to land several hits, on Miko. He had even won a few of their matches.
It was now the third, and final day of training. Jack had managed to strike Miko's padding, dozens of times. His movements had gotten a lot better too. She fought back, as best she could. But the end result, was Miko's guard, being broken; and Jack's sword, pressed firmly against the neck of her helmet. This signified his victory. They both took off their helmets; and stood, at ease. "Oh yeah! You're ready." Miko declared.
"Thank you, Miko! For everything. Seriously! I wouldn't have gotten this far, if it wasn't for you. Now I know that when I go to fight Samurai; I stand a good chance of winning."
"No problem." Miko reassured. "Oh, by the way. I'm coming with you." She added.
"What?" Jack didn't even know why he was surprised, at this point. Miko was always do this. She always invited herself, to wherever the action was. Even when she knew it was dangerous.
"After all the training we did. I want to be there, to see you kick this guy's butt." She told him. Jack let out a sigh of defeat. He knew he couldn't dissuade her. So, they both changed out of their training gear; and embarked for Silver Hills.
Silver Hills
Samurai was waiting patiently, on a stone pathway, in the middle of downtown. It was a spot, that had a fairly decent view. There were tall buildings behind him. Only a little bit off in the distance; trees, and green grass, could be seen. As far as locations for showdowns go, this wasn't bad. Just then, The Rangers arrived; and were right in front of Samurai. They managed to track him, to this location. "Samurai, you're under arrest!" Jen stated, while holding up her Time Force badge.
"You are not the ones, I wish to fight. Where is The Quantum Ranger?"
"He's not the one you should be worrying about. Now, are you going to come quietly?" Inquired Jen.
"He was told, what would happen; if he did not show up!" Samurai warned, as he drew his sword.
"SAMURAI!" A new voice shouted. Samurai turned to the sound of the voice. Off in the distance, he could see The Quantum Ranger, slowly walking towards him; with his sword, readily in hand. Miko was off to the side. She had picked a spot where she could not only, stay out of the way. But also, it was a place that she could easily see the whole fight from. Jack stopped, only a few feet away his opponent. "Were you waiting for me?" Asked Jack, in a rhetorical fashion.
"You have arrived. Good! Now, us do battle!" Proclaimed Samurai.
"Ready when you are!" Jack shot back.
Jen knew that if something bad happened to Jack; it would be disastrous. She moved to stop the fight. But Wes put a hand on her shoulder. "Jen, wait! He can handle himself. Let's have a little faith!" Wes spoke. After a second, or two; Jen started to relax. She didn't all the way like it; but she decided to give Jack a chance. Before the fight, Samurai bowed to his foe. To everyone's surprise; Jack knew enough, to return the bow, in kind. After all the preparations, for this moment; he tried to be respectful. He wanted to do this right.
"You got this, Jack!" Miko cheered.
Jack, and Samurai, raised their swords; and ran towards each other. Unlike last time; Jack was much better at deflecting, and dodging Samurai's attacks. Jack's movements were now faster. He began to predict Samurai's next attacks. Sparks flew, as Jack's sword made contact with the body of his enemy. Something he wasn't able to do, before. The fight was not one-sided, though. Samurai also managed to strike Jack. The fight was quite even. Not long into the fight; both adversaries, took a few steps back, to collect themselves.
"You've improved. I'm glad! You have finally become the worthy opponent, I knew you would be. The foe, I have longed for. Now, let us end this! LIGHTNING SWORD!"
"FREEZE STRIKE MODE!" Jack pushed the button, on the Quantum Defender. Both of their swords, were glowing, with blue energy. They delivered powerful running slashes, right across each other's bodies. A few seconds passed; before Jack fell to one of his knees. Samurai turned towards his opponent. He was feeling triumphant. Until, electricity surged through him; and sparks exploded from his body. He saw the spot, where Jack struck him. It was still smoking. The Quantum Ranger, had won the fight.
Jack struggled to his feet; and faced the enemy. Samurai knew, that he only had enough time, for a few last words. "You fought with honor. I respect that. This is the fight, that I was hoping for. You set me free. Thank you, Quantum Ranger!"
Jack raised his sword, and stared at it. This whole experience, made him think. He's used the Quantum Defender, before. But he hadn't put much stock into his swordsmanship. Not until now. "You know? Before you came along; I never knew how important, being a swordsman was. I'm a better fighter, because of that."
"Well then; it seems we've both learned something." Samurai said, before he fell down. There was an explosion. Afterwards, Samurai was returned to his cryogenic state. He was then placed into a cylinder, by The Rangers. When everyone de-morphed; Miko ran to Jack, and wrapped her arms around his neck, in a hug. She was excited.
"You did it!" Miko exclaimed, with joy.
"I had a good teacher." Jack stated, with the beginnings of a smile.
Jack really came through, for The Rangers. Jen had realized this. She may have been unnecessarily hard on him. A wrong, that she wished to right. She began walking towards Jack. He took notice of this; and separated from Miko. Jen stopped in front of him; and began to speak. "Listen, Jack! I wanted to say I'm sorry; for being so hard on you. The fact of the matter is, you are not trained to fight mutants. But your training, wasn't the only issue.
I didn't want you getting hurt. This isn't the kind of life, that you were meant to have. It was something that you just lucked into. It all happened by chance. You shouldn't even be a Ranger. But, so far, you've done good. You helped us out, a lot. From now on, I trust you." Jen said, as she extended her hand.
Jack shook her hand. "Thank you, Jen! I mean that." He responded. Then Jack started to walk away, with Miko, right by his side.
"So, I guess there's no reason to continue your training, now. Although, I'm kinda going to miss having a partner to spar with." Miko acknowledged that she had taught Jack, all she could. Underneath it all, was the realization that they no longer had an excuse to spend any time together, outside of Team Prime, or The Rangers. Jack picked up on this.
"Well, I don't know. Truth is, I haven't been a swordsman, for very long. There are still some skills, I have yet to master. I think it would be best, if I had someone to continue my training with. And, if nothing else; it would give us another reason to spend some time together, alone. So, Miko; what do ya say?"
Miko perked up, at the thought of this. Just her, and Jack, together. "It's a date!" She joked. She leaned her head against Jack's shoulder. As they continue to walk; they began to hold hands. Something that Jen took notice of.
"Oh, no!" Jen lamented.
"Jen? What's wrong?" Wes asked. He could tell that something was bothering her.
"Nothing. I'll tell you about it, later." She replied. This turn of events, started to make her panic. After doing a fair amount of research, on Jack Darby; she knew that this wasn't the way that things were supposed to be. He wasn't supposed to be with Miko. In the future, he ended up with someone else. Him being a Ranger, must have changed things. This could end up altering the timeline. For the sake of the future; she had to figure things out. Maybe even, find a way to fix things. She needed to get the future, back on track.
A/N: A couple of things. First of all, I'm sorry that I picked a rather generic name for the mutant. It felt like all the cool names, had already been taken. Then again, back in the day; Power Rangers were very generic, and goofy, with the villain names.
Second, the whole reason I made this chapter; was because I wanted to turn The Quantum Ranger, into a true swordsman. Whenever I watched the show; it felt like he didn't use his sword, enough. He had one of the coolest weapons. A blaster, that doubled as a sword.
He didn't use the blade, a lot; and I wanted to fix that. Also, another part of inspiration, that I drew upon; was when I watched that one episode of Power Rangers SPD. The episode "Samurai". I enjoyed that episode; and I thought it would be fun to give this chapter, the same kind of epic duel.I
I hope you all enjoyed this! And if not, then that's okay too. Just don't be mean, in the reviews!
STAY COSMIC!
