AN: Time for the B-Story, after like three rewrites… I hope anyone interested is sticking around despite my slow and inconsistent schedule.
It's only been a few days since "Disaster" disappeared into the past and far across the world in the US near Salt Lake City, Utah is the Bingham Canyon Mine. As excavation continued on this particular day a small metallic orb was found, buried in the rock after eons of being in the same place. Once it is hit by accident by the heavy machinery it sends out an EMP burst jamming all sorts of technology in a massively sized radius. Investigators are called in to solve what caused the disturbance. It isn't long before the device is uncovered and it is quickly identified as extraterrestrial technology.
It is connected to a computer held inside of a well-known scientific laboratory in a nearby robotics research lab, however, the computer is simply overwhelmed and broken by the information it was forced to download and process. The tech is moved after a while from stronger devices to stronger devices until it is connected to one of the strongest mechanical systems on the entire planet itself. The OLCF-5 in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. As the connection is established the output of the machine is a greeting from the abnormal sphere. As communication is established, it identifies itself as "XF-09 Ares"
It explains that over many hundreds and thousands of years, it has been examining mankind, and it has gained sentience from this process. It explains that it was created by a robot engineer of great intelligence, that it is likely their maker knows about the reactivation of Ares, and that it is possible he will come to this world with incredible weapons of mass destruction hoping to retrieve Ares and its other "siblings". This of course worries the researchers and the government having been involved since it was realized it was alien tech, the information is classified.
Ares informed them that it had expected this for a long time and so it designed a form that, if constructed, would allow it to help defend humanity, but alone it would still likely fail, if it could be given a temporary humanoid form it could help seek out its brethren, and all four of them together would be enough to not only protect this world from the one who built them, but any other external threats as well. While extreme caution was taken, the data that was given by Ares about its creator "Draedon" and his capabilities was clear in its message, he was capable of causing their complete termination should he so desire, and if anyone would know how he operates it would be his own creations. The UN is informed of this information and an emergency meeting is held as it is a matter of planetary security and it is not reasonable for one nation alone to hold the responsibility of keeping the entire world safe. The blueprints designed by Ares are intricate and were based on its original form, simply modified to accommodate the level of technological advancement mankind has achieved so far.
After a long period of deliberation a decision is reached, the world's nations will begin construction on the blueprints of this new form for XF-09, while in accordance with the information provided the process to creating a device to track down the three remaining cores of the other mechs would begin as well, a humanoid body would be constructed for Ares and as the others are recovered a humanoid form for them we be prepared to aid in communication between the alien AIs and the leaders of the projects that would work to rebuild them.
