After walking a bit farther through Hotland Frisk suddenly paused and looked down in thought. "Mettaton?"
"Yes, is something on your mind?" MEttaton inquired turning to her only to pause. "Are you starting to have doubts about…"
"Oh, no I'm not." Frisk replied closing her eyes. "I still plan on giving my SOUL to King Asgore after I find out what happened to Chara. It's just, did you ever meet her?"
"Your sister, unfortunately no I never had the opportunity to meet with her." Mettaton admitted only to pause noticing two figures in armor approaching them. "Can we help you two?"
The figure with the rabbit shaped helmet nodded at that. "That's a human with you, isn't it Mettaton?"
"Yes, I'm accompanying her to the Core." Mettaton answered calmly. "She's planning…"
"We know what she's planning on doing but are you sure that isn't some kind of trick?" the figure with a dragon shaped helmet asked. "Humans have the power to brainwash people so you could be leading her to King Asgore so she can murder him."
"It's no trick." Mettaton answered as Frisk looked down.
"I just… I want to know what happened to my sister, then I give my word I'll give up my SOUL and let you all free."
The two guards turned to each other hearing that. "You're sure you can trust this human? I mean, Undyne seemed certain that she wasn't going to try anything but…"
Frisk looked down at that not knowing what to do only for Mettaton to move between her and the two guards.
"Darlings, I can't be affected by any silly mind control or brainwashing. I'll stick to this human like glue. and if something strange happens, I'll take care of it.' Mettaton mentioned. "So, you just leave everything to me."
The guards exchanged a second glance before they both nodded.
"Alright but listen up human." The guard with a rabbit shaped helmet mentioned getting Frisk's attention as she looked up. "We'll be keeping an eye on you."
"I… I understand." Frisk nodded as Mettaton took her hand and they walked past the two guards before Mettaton suddenly paused again.
"Darling, I just had an idea. Do you mind helping me with another little show?" he inquired turning to her.
Frisk blinked hearing that as she closed her eyes in thought. "Alright, what kind of show do you need help with?"
"A news show, with a special interview." Mettaton answered as suddenly cameras emerged from around them. "Hello again darlings, I have a very special show for all you amazing viewers. I have a very special guest with me, and I thought it would be nice to get a personal one-on-one interview with none other than the last Human before King Asgore can break the barrier!"
Frisk's eyes widened in shock as some cameras shone on her and she was momentarily blinded by stage lights.

"What!?" Toriel cried in shock seeing the television screen in the MTT Resort. "What is he thinking?"
"I WOULDN'T WORRY YOUR MAJESTY, I'M SURE THAT EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT FOR THE BEST AND WE ARE RIGHT HERE WAITING TO HELP FRISK WHEN SHE NEEDS US THE MOST!" Papyrus reassured her with a grin. "I THE GREAT PAPYRUS WILL PERSONALLY MAKE SURE OF IT!"
"Papyrus has a good point." Sans agreed. "maybe this is a good thing, not every monster knows what Frisk is feeling and this could help everyone learn how kind a human she is."
Toriel looked uncertain but nodded turning ot the TV where Mettaton was behind a newsstand and Frisk was sitting in a chair looking a bit confused.

"Well little human, why don't we start by asking what your name is." Mettaton asked Frisk with a smile.
"Oh… my name's Frisk." Frisk answered a bit shyly from the cameras all pointing at her.
"I see, well Frisk if you don't mind me asking, I assume you're familiar with the rumors around Mt. Ebott?" Mettaton asked her softly. "If you did, why did you come to the mountain?"
Frisk's eyes widened at that before she looked down. "I… made a promise to my big sister Chara. We had a bad life on the surface, she was the only person I knew really cared about me, and we decided together that anything under Mt. Ebott couldn't be any worse than the surface. Chara said she would go first and if things got any worse for me I should follow her… she left and for a while I was too afraid to leave in case our aunt caught me but… eventually after I got beaten again I decided to run away and join Chara in the Underground."
"I see, and was she right? Was it better down here than on the surface?" Mettaton asked Frisk softly.
Frisk wiped away a few tears but nodded. "I met a scary flower at first… but everybody else was so nice and it made me so happy to see all the Monsters. They were nice, and funny, and friendly… I wanted so badly to find Chara and then… I…"
Frisk looked down and started trembling as she started tearing up.
"Frisk, is something wrong?" Mettaton asked her softly. "We don't have to talk about this if you don't want to."
Wiping her eyes, Frisk shook her head. "It's… it's ok, I know that when I reach King Asgore I can find out what happened to my big sister and then… well I don't know if you'll be ok on the surface but I'll at least be able to give King Asgore my SOUL and then you can be free again. I'm sure you'll all be able to live happily on the surface together, even if I couldn't."
(Mettaton and Frisk are continuing to head to the Core but Frisk has started to reveal her doubts about the benefits of going to the surface. Next chapter Frisk and Mettaton will continue traveling through Hotland as Toriel, Sans, Papyrus, and Undyne go to meet with King Asgore himself. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
