"Come on you guys, Joey could be in real danger!" Tristan called as he ran to the location that had been shown on the map.

"DO NOT WORRY HUMAN TRISTAN, I'M CERTAIN THAT WE CAN RESCUE HIM!" Papyrus replied while the rest of the group ran after him. "WE'LL REACH HIM IN NO TIME!"

"I hope you're right." Yugi frowned as he clenched the note in his hand only to feel a bony hand on his shoulder. "Huh, Sans?"

"it's going to be fine… whoever did this won't hurt him if he's being used as bait for you." Sans pointed out before winking. "trust me, everything'll work out especially with all of us working together."

"He's right, we'll get Joey back safely and take down whoever tried to pull this stunt." Undyne agreed.

Hearing that Yugi smiled as they continued running before Tea suddenly gasped seeing Joey out cold on the ground.

"Joey!" Yugi cried running to him only to suddenly sense someone nearby as he turned to the nearby forest. "Who's there, did you do this?"

"That is correct little Yugi, and if you ever want your friend Joey back, you'll have to defeat me in a Shadow Game." stated a voice from the trees as a young man with white hair walked out wearing a strange ring with the same symbol as Yugi's Millennium Puzzle and five spikes.

"What, Bakura?" Yugi questioned in shock. "Why are you here? What did you do to Joey?"

"That's simple, I sealed his soul away in this card." Bakura smirked holding up a Duel Monsters card. "Just as I intend to do to you and your friends and then your Millennium Puzzle will be mine."

Hearing that Yugi's eyes widened. "You're not Bakura!"

As Yugi said that Frisk and the monsters caught up with him, Tea, and Tristan.

"What?" Bakura questioned seeing that. "What in the world is going on here, what are those creatures?"

"They're not creatures, they're Monsters and they're my family." Frisk told him before blinking. "Huh, Yugi that thing around his neck looks like your puzzle."

"This is my Millennium Item, the all-powerful Millennium Ring and with I was able to seal Joey's soul into this card, the same fate that awaits the rest of you and then Yugi's Millennium Puzzle will be mine!" Bakura declared as his Millennium Ring started to glow.

"Frisk, something's happening!" Chara warned as a flash of light enveloped the area as the humans all collapsed and the Monsters all seemed to freeze in place unable to move. (1)

"That takes care of that, now to take the Millennium Puzzle for myself." Bakura smirked reaching for it only for Yugi and Chara to both open their eyes and stand back up. "What? How is this possible?"

"If you want my Millennium Puzzle, you'll have to earn it Bakura." Yugi stated in a more serious tone.

Bakura looked confused before smirking. "Ah, I had almost forgotten about you. The other Yugi. Very well in that case I have a proposition for you."

"Hold on, what's going on?" Chara questioned. "Who are you?"

Hearing that Yugi and Bakura both turned to her as Bakura's eyes widened.

"What, impossible… I sealed your soul in a card just like everyone else!" Bakura cried in shock only to pause. "Wait, you're not the same girl, are you?"

"No, my name's Chara… now you're going to give everyone their souls back." Chara told Bakura only for Yugi to frown.

"Now I recognize you, you're not Bakura at all." Yugi frowned. "You're the spirit within the Millennium Ring, this isn't the first time we've met."

"I'm glad you remember me from our encounter in Monster World, but unlike our previous battle this will end with my victory." the spirit of the Millennium Ring declared with a smirk only to turn to Chara. "To make a rather long story short, I attempted to claim Yugi's puzzle for myself once before, though I unfortunately was unsuccessful in claiming it."

"And you'll fail again." Yugi told the spirit only for it to laugh coldly. "What's so funny?"

The spirit of the Millennium Ring smirked. "I admit I underestimated you last time but I won't make the same mistake again. I have a proposition for you, the two of us have a duel."

Yugi frowned hearing that before he nodded. "Very well, if I defeat you, you'll return everyone's souls to their rightful place."

"Of course, however should I win I'll not only claim your Millennium Puzzle but the two of you will join your friends in the Shadow Realm." the spirit of the Millennium Ring smirked only to pause as it turned to Chara. "I don't know how you were able to resist my Millennium Ring, but you'll have a front row seat to this Shadow Game."

Chara frowned hearing that only for Yugi to put a hand on her shoulder causing her to look at him.

"Don't worry Chara, I'll get all of their souls back." Yugi reassured her gently. "My friends, and your family."

Chara looked at Yugi before nodding with a gentle smile as she stepped back while Yugi and the spirit of the Millennium Ring sat at a large tree stump and the entire area was enveloped in a dark purple cloud.

"Let's Duel!" Yugi and the spirit of the Millennium Ring called together.

(Joey was kidnapped by the spirit of the Millennium Ring that took control of Yugi's friend Bakura, and now that same spirit has challenged Yugi to a Shadow Game for the fate of his friends and Chara's family. Next chapter the duel will begin, and Yugi and Chara will learn what happened to their friends and loved ones souls. As always any reviews or critique is appreciated.)
