Chapter 5 Date, oh no
It was still the same day, after the training, Augustinus grabbed Larry by his hand.
"Sorry Benny, but Larry and I have got to do something else for now, we'll see you later." Augustinus said.
Larry quickly pulled himself free and faced his dad confused, "What do we have to do? And why can't Benny come along?"
"Because I said so Larry, now please don't argue and come along." Augustinus said, pointing to the door.
Larry blinked, he walked back to Benny side and hugs his friend.
"Don't worry, hopefully it won't be long," Larry whispers to his close friend.
Benny hugs him back, "It's alright Larry. Just go, see you tomorrow?"
Larry nods, the two friends let one another go and Larry follows his dad back to their flat, Benny grins a little and heads back to his and his sisters home too.
With Larry at home. Larry got more confused, despite the fact he's just had his training, Augustinus thrusts him into the bathroom.
"Get washed and changed Larry, we gotta go in a bit." Augustinus smiles.
Larry did as he was asked and then given a new black T-shirt and a black pair of trousers and black shoes to wear. Larry put them on and faced himself in the mirror.
So far in his life these are the most stylish clothes he's ever had on.
"Dad, why am I dressed like this?" Larry inquires.
Augustinus changed into similar looking clothes, only slightly bigger for his fitter form.
Augustinus decided to tell him finally, "Because we're going out together. I'd like you to meet a friend of mine, I'm sure you're going to like her."
Larry got worried, but didn't say anything.
The two Wilde foxes were ready and left the flat again. Augustinus leads Larry to a small restaurant called Angel's fish. He booked a double table at the far back and sat Larry at it.
"Would you like a drink, Larry?" Augustinus inquired.
"Sure." Larry said, feeling suddenly unsure bout the whole thing. "Um... can I just have a glass of water?"
Augustinus nodded his head, he ordered for Larry the water and for himself a carrot juice.
Then they looked over the menu.
Whiles Larry was trying to decide what to pick, Augustinus was looking round the restaurant and even looking at his watch.
"Where is she, she should be here by now," He asks.
Larry looks up from the menu confused, "Who, dad?"
"Just a friend I'd like you to know." Augustinus smiles, "The person you saw I chatted to as you were training with Benny. She's meeting us here."
Larry froze over, "Dad… is she your girlfriend? Or your new mate?"
"Urge don't you start again, Little Loco has chewed me out bout that already Larry, no. She's your age and wants to get to know you. Just in a different class. Ah, she's here now," Augustinus smiles, nodding to the entrance.
Larry looked over and saw a female fox walking up to them, she was wearing dark green jeans and a green top. She looked about Larry's age, too.
She arrived at the two men and sat next to Larry on their table.
"Hi, I'm Laverna Alethea. You must be Larry Wilde, right? Augustinus Wilde's son?" Laverna inquired.
Larry blinks, "Yes, that's me. Nice to meet you, Miss Alethea."
"Ah, please, call me Laverna. I don't like it if people I know address me by my last name," She laughs a bit, "Have you both chosen your foods yet?"
Laverna picks up the menu herself, Augustinus shakes his head.
"No we've just arrived ourselves," Augustinus explains.
"Is it ok if I'll have the sushi with rice balls and sauce dad?" Larry inquires.
Augustinus nods his head, "Sure."
"Mh… not really a fan of fish, ah, I'll have a chicken and rice dish, that sounds more delicious," Laverna smiled, "Chicken, yummy."
"I'll have the same, sounds great," Augustinus nods.
"Is fish your favourite meal Larry?" Laverna smiles, "Seems strange for a fox."
"Sure thing," Larry nods, "And you?"
"Chicken and rice are my top favourite," Laverna smiles, licking her lips a bit.
He placed the three orders and Laverna faces Larry again, "So Larry, how long have you been living in the Agency for?"
"Ever since I was a baby," Larry answers honestly, "I've never known a different home. Dad lives there with me because he works for them."
"And quite successful too," Augustinus nods, "Larry luckily was accepted at the agency's school as well and has become friends with Benny."
"Best friends dad," Larry smiles, feeling his heart warm up at the very thought of his BFFL.
"Cool. I got a father and mother too: Kim Alethea is my mother and George Alethea is my father, and I got an older sister by a year called Cindy Alethea." Laverna smiles, "We all are close, but my sister and I have moved out by now because it was getting a bit crowded with four adults in one den."
"That's ok," Larry nods.
"So I've seen you work out too, do you think it will become a regular occurrence for you?" Laverna inquires, "Sports is very good for one's health and mental mind, after all."
"Sure thing, the first time it was quite fun, so I'm sure I can go back for another sports round. We do need to get stronger and fitter, especially if we wanna control and work with the larger guns which can have nasty recoils on them. Right dad?" Larry asks.
"Right," Augustinus nods.
"Ok, my favourite subject is maths and chemistry," Laverna smiles, "I just love numbers and seeing how various experiments work in the lab. And with numbers, they help to determine the amount of chemicals needed to be mixed together to get an experiment working."
It was for a while quiet, then Laverna had another idea.
"I also like the wild outdoors, have you ever been camping, Larry?" Laverna inquires.
"Um... no not that I remember, this restaurant is the furthest we've ever been from the Agency," Larry blinks, "You?"
"A few times with my friend Alexa and my sister Cindy, we go every other weekend. Maybe I can ask her if you could join us next time." Laverna smiles.
"Mh maybe, oh our meal is here," Larry smiles.
The meals did arrive and the three then resumed eating it up and were silent. It was a nice silence between them and the meals were delicious.
A few minutes later the three finished their meal and headed home, but just before parting way's, Laverna grabbed Augustinus by his arm, Larry was told to walk on ahead, which he did.
Laverna faced the older fox, "Mr Wilde... are you sure Larry has had no love interest before me?"
"No, not that I know of, why?" Augustinus inquired, "Do you like him?"
"He's ok," She admitted, looking at the back of Larry's head and slim body, "But I can tell how little interest he's had in knowing me... I'm sure Larry has already fallen for someone. We might need some more rounds together before he can even like me."
Augustinus stares at her shocked, Larry and already liking someone he doesn't know... or does he.
He nodded, he thanks her, bids her a safe night and the three head in three different ways back to the Agency.
With Laverna.
Laverna retreats back to her dorm, there, her dorm friend, a female badger, was waiting for her return.
"Hi Laverna, bout time you've come back. How was it?" She inquires.
Laverna sighs, "Hi Alexa, it was ok. Larry seems like a nice guy… but he seems also very distracted."
Alexa froze over, she stares at her friend as Laverna removed her 'date clothes' and grabs a brush, brushing her fur over and sitting on a bath towel to not get hairs all over the place.
"No way," Alexa grins, "You've actually managed to persuade the Larry Wilde to date you?"
"Wasn't really much of a date," Laverna sighs, "More trying to get to know him. But I can tell it won't end well. He was so distracted by something else in his mind I'm sure someone else has his interest for a LONG while."
Alexa grins, "Well I've seen him train once, and if I'd have to guess who... or could you guess?"
Laverna freezes over, she thinks over what she saw in the gym and around campus and a light bulb went off.
"No way, Alexa, you don't mean… Benny Squint? The rabbit?" She asks, staring at her surprised, "Larry with Benny? GAH, but they both are males."
"Doesn't mean they can't be friends, like us," Alexa grins. "Oh boy, his dad won't like that. But don't tell him yet that we have that suspicion bout him. It could hurt Augustinus even more to know his son is gay."
"I agree and shame," Laverna sighs, lying flat down and wagging her tail, "If he weren't so distracted he could be an interesting friend to get to know more or even have."
Alexa giggles like crazy, "So what now? Are you just going to let him go or fight for him."
Laverna sighs, "I'm not really sure, we can see how more meetings might go, maybe I can become his friend too or more so. But we will have to wait and see."
Alexa nodded her head, seems like a good idea. "I'd like to see you on one of your 'dates', oh boy this is going to be so great."
"Don't get your knickers in a bunch Alexa," Laverna giggles, "Larry is training to be a spy after all, he will notice if we are being followed."
"We'll see." Alexa beams.
The two women laugh a bit before chatting bout more things.
With Larry. Larry walked away from his father and he was thinking over the date he's just had with Laverna.
Unfortunately his suspicions bout her are VERY high.
To first be left alone for years on end, having a good and close friendship to Benny to suddenly have his father drop Laverna into his lap like that.
'What was dad thinking bout? He knows I'm already happy with Benny.' Larry thinks.
"Hey Larry, are you listening," Benny calls out to his very distracted friend.
Larry blinks and looks down, smiling at the gray furred rabbit, he carefully strokes over Benny's head and shakes his own.
"Sorry Benny. Just thinking over dads sudden date idea. I'm trying to think over why he'd even do it. He knows I see you as my best friend, why would he try to thrust another onto me?" Larry explains, looking at his friend.
Benny smiles a bit, "Remember back with my parents. Maybe that?"
"Oh yuck. I'm too young to go in that way," Larry panics, waving his hands around.
Benny nods his head, "I agree Larry. Though let's put the thrust to the side. If it isn't the M word which we both know is despicable... what other reason could there be?"
Larry thinks over, well there could be a million reasons, but one special reason grew louder and louder in Larry's head, almost causing a headache.
Larry however, kept it to himself, 'But it does make sense. However, if my dad won't accept me for who I am… I don't know what to do.'
Larry looks down at Benny and shrugs his shoulders, hugging him. He might know the answer, but Benny couldn't come up with it, nor did he know of Larry's 'true' intentions.
"Come, I know what will comfort you more bro," Benny grins, grabbing his hand.
Benny heads with Larry back to the training ground, booking them both in. The fox and rabbit both enjoyed then until the late evening another climbing and running round. Just to build off the built-up fury.
And boy did Larry have loads of it.
They worked on their training for three hours again until Larry's phone went off, it was Augustinus again asking Larry to get home, and Benny's phone went off too, for his sister was asking Benny to get home as well.
"Well we should better listen," Larry laughs, smiling, "Thanks a lot for that Ben."
"No problem, see you tomorrow." Benny beams.
They got washed, changed and quickly headed back to their homes.
Quanktumspirit: "Please review."
