I was stuck with this chapter for a while, I couldn´t get past one part and finally it came to me, get some smut in there and problem solved. Here it is now.

"I´m telling you Sessh, Onigumo is out to get Inuyasha, I still can´t figure out what his plan might be, but you need to tell him to beware."

Sesshomaru´s face remained unreadable to her; the one eyebrow lifted being the only change in his facade.

"Sessh? Since when you think it´s wise to use such an undignified name to refer to this one?"

The female demon suddenly stopped drawing lazy circles on the daiyokai's chest and sat on the bed, her naked breasts catching the eyes of said demon.

"I´m serious Sesshomaru. I have a feeling he´s planning something big. Your brother is in danger."

"I don´t fear for my brother, he´s all grown up and he can fend for himself. The company, on the other hand, must be strengthened. Last time Onigumo attacked Inuyasha, we lost a small fortune in compensation."

Sesshomaru slid a hand under the silky hair cascading behind Kagura´s back to reach the shoulder farther from him before softly dragging her back to lay on top of him.

They had just arrived at the office earlier than everyone else, the deserted floor greeted them as the elevator´s doors opened.

"You´re not concerned about Kikyo again?"

"No, that´s not it." In fact, I was going to talk about it yesterday before you brought up the Kikyo issue."

The sudden shadow crossing her face gave Inuyasha an immediate sense of dread.

"What is it? Are you ok?"

"Yes, is not that bad. Just a little uncomfortable." She sighed and looked down at her hands. She hadn´t noticed how she had been wriggling them until just then. "It´s about the lawyers..."

The sound of Inuyasha's phone in the silent conference room interrupted her speech.

"Hold on a minute, it´s Sesshomaru. He gets all worked up if I don´t answer him." Inuyasha barked as he left the room.

Their interaction took longer than they had expected, Kagome had resigned herself to save the conversation for later and booted her laptop, ready to start her day. It was still early for the rest of the team, so she expected to get part of her to-do list done.

"My brother wants to see me this morning, I´ll have to leave you guys to work on your own today." Inuyasha announced while reentering the room.

"You have to leave right now?"

"No, I still got some minutes to spare, Sesshomaru set a meeting with an attorney at 10 am. There are some papers we need to get through, he didn´t want to explain it over the phone though." He sat down in the chair next to her and grabbed her left hand between both of his. "You want to tell me what is worrying you about the lawyers?"

"I... ok." She sat back and straightened her back. She better spoke up when she had a chance. "I wanted to tell you this when you got into my old bedroom at the shrine, I just got sidetracked when you mentioned Kykio and completely forgot about it until this morning." Kagome made a pause and took in a gulp of air. "It has to do with Koga Tatsukawa."

Inuyasha frowned. He hadn´t liked that guy one bit. He was too good looking, too cocky and above all, what he disliked the most, he looked at Kagome with a predatory gleam in his eyes.

"What´s with the wolf?" He didn´t even try to hide his disgust for the ookami, it was plain in his voice and his features.

"Well the thing is, Kouga and I had already met before last night. We hadn´t seen each other for years but we met in college."

The idea that Kagome and that stinky wolf together was something he just didn´t want to entertain. Nevertheless, he wanted to hear the whole story, why was Kagome so nervous about it? She kept her eyes hidden from him and her hands were slightly shaking.

"Remember when I told you about my first love in college?"

Oh, no. This was getting worse than he had imagined.

"The ookami was your first boyfriend?" He knew the answer as soon as her misty eyes found his.

"Yes, it was him."

Now he was furious. He wanted to punch the guy´s smug face. This man was the reason Kagome had suffered for so many years. He needed to move his body to defuse the dark ball of energy threatening to explode and destroy everything in his path.

Pacing the conference room up and down, he looked at Kagome´s startled face.

"I´m so sorry, I didn´t want to hide it from you. I only pushed it to the back of my mind and..."

"Did he try something with you?"

He had stopped pacing and was staring at her, losing an internal fight to hide his concern from her.

"No, of course not."

"You are not keeping anything else from me, are you?"

"I am not. It just took me by surprise, that´s all. I never planned to see him again."

Before she knew it Inuyasha had crossed the room and was taking her in his arms.

"I hate the thought of any guy getting too close to you."

"Inuyasha... you don´t have to worry. I don´t want anybody getting close to me."

He couldn´t just point what was making him mad. Was he jealous? Maybe. Was he angry with the man that had damaged her self-worth? Definitely. The only certainty was that he wanted to wrap himself around Kagome and shield her from the world. The demon side of him was rebelling, roaring in his head; it needed to mark her as his, make it known to everyone to stay away from Kagome. If it was because he was overprotective or jealous, it didn´t make any difference.

Before he could stop himself, Kagome was pressed against his chest, her soft body slightly trembling in his arms.

"I will never let him hurt you again." He whispered against her ear.

Kagome shivered in response, her body reacting to his closeness as it usually did, warming up even in this odd situation.

Her scent tipped him off immediately and his body answered in the same way as hers, he was hardening as if they had been flirting instead of discussing a very delicate issue.

Kagome felt her heart swelling in her chest, she couldn´t be any prouder of Inuyasha, she wished he could hear it, his hard work being recognized by their peers. She just hid her smile behind her hand and ducked her head.

Kouga kept talking with his associates in hushed tones, concentrated on the documents Miroku had handed them.

In the end, her fears had been unfounded. Except for insisting that she gave him her phone number, Kouga had conducted himself with the utmost professionalism. She had been all jittery for no reason.

The meeting was almost over when she felt her phone vibrate. It was Inuyasha telling her he missed her and he wouldn´t make it to dinner.

Her smile had widened first but faded as soon as she learned she wouldn´t see Inuyasha tonight. She had got used to seeing him every day at work and spend time together after. It felt too lonely to just talk or message each other.

Blinking away a rogue tear, Kagome put her phone down when Miroku asked for her help. He was incapable of finding a file on his laptop, she didn´t know how he had managed till today. She got up and crossed the room to help him, smiling despite the recent news.

It took Kouga just a second to stretch from the other side of the table and grab her unlocked phone and dial his own number. When Kagome heard it ringing and saw her phone on his hands it was too late.

The smile was wiped off her face.

"What are you doing?" She asked through gritted teeth

"I´m just adding my number to your contacts, as we had discussed before."

She wanted to scream at the guy, she had never agreed to that. Several times she had graciously avoided giving him her number. Never did she imagine he would turn to such tactics to get it.

She didn´t want to make a scene though. Instead, she just looked down as she inhaled deeply trying to calm her rising anger.

"You too Miroku. We are almost done here, it´s just in case we need more information from your crew."

"Sure, why not? Her partner answered.

There were already six missed calls on her screen when she arrived home, as well as several texts.

"Arghh, this guy really doesn´t get it!"

She opened her messaging app and read the last one.

"Answer your phone!"

"We have nothing to talk about outside the office."She answered and silenced her phone.

"I´d better call Inuyasha before I turned this thing off."

"Inu-chan, have you taken care of your family's business already? I miss you so much." All her troubles disappeared the moment he answered his phone. She would solve this problem with Kouga by herself, no need to get Inuyasha involved. The way he reacted today was enough proof he could be affected by Kouga´s manipulations.

She had to solve it herself, she decided.

"Wench, I told you. Stop calling me that, it´s embarrassing."

"It´s cute, I like it. And I´ll stop the day you stop calling me wench."

"Fine, whatever."

To an outsider, it may seem Inuyasha was annoyed by her answer. Kagome knew better. Inuyasha was all bark and no bite. At least around her.

"I think tomorrow I´ll finally get everything to my brother´s liking. I had to agree to his trust fund idea."

"I thought you didn´t like that idea."

"Not really. I ended up promising all my assets will be inherited by my firstborn child."

For a second, Kagome couldn´t speak. She had been daydreaming of a life with Inuyasha since they first kissed but she never dared to say it out loud. They had never discussed the future of their relationship.

"So, just your firstborn? You´re not planning to have more than one?"

She found the way to ask him in what she hoped was a playful manner.

"I´m not planning on having any children, period. It´s just a way Sesshomaru thought the company could be protected. I just think he´s being paranoid."

"Oh."

She couldn´t help but sound disappointed. He had just decided that and never thought about sharing it with her?

"What?"

Kagome sighed.

"Nothing. It´s just that I thought... nevermind."

"Look, you know what happened with Kikyo. It´s a delicate subject, we´ll talk about it when we are face to face."

They talked a few more minutes about their day. Kagome was unable to focus on anything else though. She hung up the phone and called Sango immediately after. She needed to clear her mind before going to bed.

"You better block that asshole Kags. And tell him to fuck off before I make him." She knew Sango could be very protective of her, there was no doubt in her mind that she would kick the wolf´s ass if she had the chance.

"I´ll talk to him tomorrow, don´t worry. I´ll make him understand I´m not a naive young girl anymore. He can´t keep this up."

"You tell him Kags!"

She also told Sango about the baby talk with Inuyasha a few minutes prior. She felt discouraged by his mentioning it in such a casual way. If they were going to be a couple, they needed to discuss that issue together.

"We´re still on for blood donation next wednesday?"

"Oh, I almost forgot. Sure, just call me wednesday night to work it all out."

She felt drained when she finally put her phone down, the battery was almost dead by then. She noticed there were some unread messages and her mind went back to Kouga´s antics. The last one had an image too.

"What the hell is this guy up to?" She thought as she opened the last message.

Her eyes grew larger as the image downloaded; her hand flew to her mouth to silence the scream she wanted to set free.

"I´m sorry it has come to this. Call me after you see the picture."

It was plain and simple text. The image though was worth a thousand words. There she was, a teenager version of Kagome, a pixeled image of her looking like a deer in the headlights and wearing only her panties.
