Heads up. More spoilers from the anime, specifically the last season. I don't know why but I feel like they need to learn more about what they all went through. When I say they I mean the whole guild, not just the main characters. It's not shown, but do they talk to each other about what happened? I think they don't and just let it be. Well maybe they told their closest friends. However, I think they need to talk to the whole guild because seriously, they all have to have some serious PTSD at this point. Don't mind me, I'm rambling again.

I would share some other experiences but it… appears in the 100-year quest and again I'm trying my hardest not to spoil it. There are however spoilers from the last season of the anime.

Chapter 8

Laxus picks Lucy up at her apartment so they can walk to the guild together. He walks with his arm around her shoulders, hers around his waist, Plue leading the way.

During the war, there was a point when Natsu was in the infirmary due to what they thought was a tumor in him. Brandish had shrunk it.

"Why did Brandish help Natsu?"

"Didn't she also go willingly back to her cell?"

Lucy explains, "Brandish thought my mom was the reason her mother died. I learned from Aquarius while she was on Earthland that our mothers knew each other. Brandish's mom was one of my mother's maids and one of her great friends. It was actually a servant who killed Brandish's mom. He had Capricorn's key and possessed him with it. That was on Tenrou that I learned about that. Brandish is actually a good person, it's just that something traumatic happened to her in her childhood and that led her astray. I'm sure some of you can sympathize." Those who do look at Lucy with a face that says they can. "Aquarius was also able to tell me that her key has resurfaced on Earthland. Makarov asks, "is that why Brandish's demeanor had changed?

"I like to think so. Although when we were fighting again Brandish made what they thought was a tumor grow back to its original size."

Laxus asks, "What do you mean by what you thought it was a tumor?"

Lucy looks at Natsu asking silently if it's okay to tell that story. "It's alright Luce, go ahead."

"Well remember when I had to strip naked to keep Natsu warm with skin-to-skin contact?" Ever nods at her indicating she remembers. There are also a lot of others who say pervy comments, and Laxus growls at them. "Turns out his dragon seed was battling with his… demon seed."

"Well, Zeref actually created those with the intent of killing himself. He wanted to die and stop living with that curse. Remember the one Mard Greer had during Tartaros? E.N.D.?"

More nods.

"It was the most powerful one. The one Zeref had the most faith in killing him. His brother…" Lucy sucks in a deep breath and releases it. "Etherios Natsu Dragneel. That is why Natsu had a demon seed in him."

Everyone's eyes widen, and there are gasps of shock.

Someone asks, "But Natsu was raised and trained by a dragon. How could he be a demon?"

Natsu joins in and explains what Zeref had told him. Zeref wanted Natsu to become stronger so he left him in the care of Igneel to raise him as a dragon slayer.

Happy says, "Natsu was supposed to die after Zeref died. But thanks to Lushy he didn't."

Everyone turns back to Lucy. "It's because I rewrote the demon book. Mavis gave it to Gray, Happy and I trusting we would know what to do. I would have died if it weren't for Gray to counteract what the book did to me with his Demon Slayer magic."

Erza talks about how she also had a tie with one of the Spriggan, Scarlet Despair, who was also a dragon slayer from back in Zeref's time, and also her mother. Now it's Erza's turn to have everyone look at her in shock. Erza receives many questions about that one which she answers. Wendy even pipes in since she was there for it. Erza tells everyone she is so proud of Wendy for being able to fight against Scarlet, and how she also used the enchantment to counteract Scarlet's.

Throughout this whole conversation, Laxus holds Lucy's hand, rubbing his thumb on her palm. Occasionally he kisses the top of her head.

Everyone decides to tell the others what they went through which reminds Laxus to thank Freed for teaching him that rune spell. This leads to Laxus telling the guild about the rune Freed taught him and his fight with Wall-E helped clear the bane particles.

Someone asks about the person who found a wormhole to lure Acnologia in.

Wendy replies, "Oh that was Lucy's VERY great-grandmother."

Lucy explains what Wendy and Erza filled her in on. Anna had written a book that was to be passed down the Heartfilia line until it was in the hands of someone living in a time with a lot of magical energy so it would have the power to send the dragon slayers through the eclipse gate. It took 400 years and on July 7, X777 the dragons disappeared into their children and the slayers passed through the gate with the help of her mother. That was the reason her mother died. Magical depletion from opening the gate.

Everyone looks sad.

"It's okay. I feel better knowing my mother sacrificed herself to not only bring the dragon slayers to our time but to also make sure that responsibility wasn't passed down to me." … Lucy laughs a little. "It didn't exactly go as planned. Anna and the kids were supposed to stick together but they flew past her and went to different parts of Fiore."

There's a little bit of silence.

"Anna was their teacher when they were young. Which now explains why they're attached to me." Lucy gives smiles to Natsu, Wendy, and Gajeel. "I remind them of their childhood." Lucy looks at Mira, "Also why your 'NaLu' ship never did come to fruition."

Mira nods her head, "It all worked out in the end. As long as everyone is happy."

Lucy looks at everyone again. "It was always meant to be a Heartfilia that would be the one to bring the slayers to the future when they would be needed and take care of them. Sting and Rogue included. Despite their attitude towards Fairy Tail at first, deep down it bothered them when one of their own hurt me."

Everyone remembers the Naval battle and what Minerva did.

"They recognized my scent and knew that for some reason they shouldn't allow any harm to come to me…"

Wendy says, "ever since I met you I had a strong urge to stay by your side due to your scent being so comforting."

Levy has a sudden realization. "Hey! Remember during Fantasia Natsu and Gajeel couldn't leave the guildhall?"

"I forgot about that! Wasn't the rule no one over 80 could leave?" Gray asked.

"That explains why Salamander and I couldn't leave."

"The runes recognized the fact they time traveled from their original time making them over 400 years old."

Lucy sees Laxus getting a little uncomfortable about the subject, so she changes it. "Hey guys! Remember when I turned myself invisible and walked around town naked?" Why in the name of Mavis was that the first thing that came to mind?
