Chapter 23

Bobby Singer sat at the kitchen table sipping on his coffee when he heard the all to familiar roar of a Impala slowly coming up the road. He waited until the car went silent and he could hear his guard dog Rumsfeld gave an excited yip before going silent when his front door slowly opened. Christina turned and smiled at Bobby before Sam and Dean walked in behind her with Sam closing the door behind him. Bobby was surprised to see John's boys standing in front of him but he figured Christina had met up with them on a hunt.

"Hey Bobby," Christina said giving him a quick hug before moving back to stand next to Sam and Dean. "We need your help with something."

Bobby looked at the three before looking back at Christina who looked slightly uncomfortable. "I can't do a paternity test on the baby this early, kid." He said with a sigh.

Christina's face lit up red with embarrassment as all three nervously coughed. "Bobby I'm not pregnant," she said stepping away from Sam and Dean. "These are my brothers. Bobby, I'm a Winchester."

Bobby's face was confused for a second before his face relaxed. "That's what John was talkin' about." All three looked confused but Bobby shook his head letting them know he'll tell them on another day. "So what can I help you three with?"

"Dad's missing." Dean said getting straight to the point. "I think he got nabbed in Lincoln by a girl who survived a seven story fall. But now that I think about it..."

"The girl's a demon." Christina said matter of fact. "She's saying John's dead but we don't quite believe it. We need to find a way to get her to tell us everything so we can get him back."

Bobby nodded and led the small group into the living room. He walked over to a large bookshelf and began to search through the large tomes and some dust covered books.

"I just thought of something," Dean said as they all stood around the living room. "I don't think Meg's gonna want to sit and answer questions over Tea and biscuits willingly."

"That's why I'm prepared." Bobby said thumbing up towards the ceiling. The three slowly looked up and saw a large pentagram in the middle of a circle with strange runes surrounding the pentagram.

"What is that?" Dean asked.

"A devil's trap." Christina said walking around Dean and towards the couch to sit down in it.

"It's like a roach motel for Demons." Bobby said proudly. "Demons go in but can't come out."

"So we need to get Meg inside and she won't be able to leave?" Sam ask as Bobby grabbed a large tome and handed it to Sam. "What's this?"

"A little help for when your friend arrives." Bobby said with a grin before heading over to the fridge and grabbing four beers from the top shelf.

"This is Solomon's journal." Sam said with excitement. "Where did you find this?"

"On a hunt in Milwaukee." Bobby said walking back in and handing a beer to each of the three kids before taking a swig himself.

Dean wasted no time and quickly took a deep swig to calm his raging nerves while Sam and Christina took a few seconds before taking small sips themselves.

"So how do we know she's even comin' here for you?" Bobby asked. "I'd hate to be ready for nothin'."

"Better to be ready for nothing then not ready for something." Christina said looking up at Bobby. "However I think she'll be coming since we have something that she wants."

"You mean..." Bobby started.

"The Colt yes." Dean said interrupting. "Dad had a fake one and gave us the real one for protection. I do hope she is coming though. I got a score to settle with her."

Bobby nodded and all four looked towards the kitchen window when they started to hear Rumsfeld starting to growl and bark causing the hairs to stand on their necks. The barking grew louder as there was a few desperate snarls to scare away however it only lasted a second. Soon the sound of a dog's hurt whimpering was followed by a sharp yelp before everything went deathly silent.

"Rumsfeld..." Bobby spoke sadly knowing the fate of his loyal dog. He slowly walked up to the kitchen window to peer out and saw the leading chain that once held his loyal companion to it, hung loosely around the side mirror.

The house creaked for a second as if everyone, including the house, released a breath as they prepared for an attack.

The front door burst open causing the door knob to puncture the wall causing the four hunters to drop their bottles and rush into an attack. Bobby and Dean were the first to the door to stop the intruder but they were blasted back into the corner knocking books onto the floor. Meg sauntered into the room and looked at the two hunters she had just thrown and looked around looking for the other two who were not in sight.

"Where are you two?" She asked as she continued to stand in the doorway of the den.

Sam rushed into her at least knocking her over the threshold, but just short of the devil's trap that was on the ceiling. Meg effortlessly tossed him back making him land on the table before rolling off. Meg huffed as she knew there was one more hunter and she wasn't wanting to let her guard down.

"Meg would you like a seat?!" Christina yelled holding a chair out like a shield the legs of the chair sticking towards Meg.

"I don't think I do!" Meg yelled running towards the young hunter colliding into the chair.

Christina gritted her teeth as she knew once the devil was in that trap she could be tamed. She took in a deep breath and pushed back until Meg was in the middle of the trap before pulling back and setting the chair down.

"Not smart putting that down." Meg snarled as she took a step towards Christina but felt herself being glued to the spot. "What...?"

"Look up, Bitch!" Dean spat brushing off his jacket from the dust that had fallen on it. As Meg looked up Dean confidently said, "We like to be prepared."

Meg's face paled slightly as she looked at the four hunters. "Guess I'll take that chair now." She said knowing she had no other choice. She watched as Christina slowly walked around and set the chair down behind her before quickly tying her hands to the arm rests with the help of Dean.

"Where's our father?" Dean asked the moment he stepped in front of Meg.

Meg just smirked as she leaned back into the chair. "What's the magic word?" She teased her eyes glistening even when they were dead black eyes.

Dean turned around and stared at her. His face relaxed to seem more playful but his eyes were cold and serious. "Where's our father, Bitch."

Meg began to tut and shake her head. "Dean...you kiss your mother with that mouth? Didn't your mother ever tell you never talk to a lady like that?" Dean's face hardened making Meg slowly grin. "Oh that's right...you never had a mother long enough to teach you. Your father was a bad influence on you."

"Quit stalling and tell us where, John is." Christina's voice pipped up from being quiet in the corner.

"John is dead. I killed him myself." Meg's answer made a fire burn deep inside Dean as he snapped and back handed Meg across the face. Meg let out a chuckle as she twisted in the chair as she continued to forcefully giggle. "You are a kinky one." She said looking at Dean with daggers in her eyes. "Guess you can't take the truth now can you?"

"You're lying." Dean growled as he got closer to her face. "Tell us the truth."

"Or you what? Kill me?" Meg taunted her dark eyes gleaming in the darkened room. "Tried that once. It didn't stick."

"Or we'll send you back to hell." Dean smirked as he saw Meg's face fell and the look of fear spread across her face. "Now tell us where our father is?"

"He's dead." Meg said her voice a little shaky as Dean cracked his knuckles and glanced at Sam who opened up a book.

Sam's voice began to read the page of Latin while the other three occupants began to watch as Meg began to twist and groan with pain.

"Dean you need to stop this." Bobby said as he touched the older boy's shoulder. "You're going to kill her."

"There's no way to kill a demon with that, Bobby." Dean said not taking his eyes off of Meg but noticed Sam had stopped reciting.

"No, you said you pushed this poor girl out of a window. Dean there have been almost thirty demon procession this month alone. This is one of them. That demon is keeping that poor girl alive."

Dean's face looked amongst the three other people in the room before looking back at the girl in the chair. "Is there a way we can save her as well?"

"You lost her..." Meg panted staring daggers at the older Winchester. "Just like you lost your father!"

"Our father is not dead!" Snapped Dean as he now leaned on the chair his face inches away from Megs. "Tell us now! Where is he?!"

"Fine!" Meg screamed she seemed to be in a lot of pain as she finally consented. "He's in near a river. Sunset something." Meg said her eyes tired of fighting as blood slowly began to trickle down the corner of her mouth.

Dean stood up and folded his arms. "Are you sure?" He asked unsure if he wanted to believe her. Meg whined slightly as she nodded quickly. "Sam finish it." He ordered coldly making everyone shocked.

"Are you kidding me?!" Meg screamed as Dean didn't move. "I told you the truth!"

"Well I lied." Dean said with a shrug. "Get over it."

"Dean she's going to die if we finish." Sam said but closed his mouth at Dean's dark gaze.

"Not going to allow some black eyed demon keep using this girl's body anymore." Dean said not looking at Sam but staring at Meg. "Finish it Sam."

Sam cleared his throat and began to read the final passage making Meg let out cries of pain.

"Stop it please!" Meg screamed but only let out a long painful scream as black smoke erupted from her mouth and flew out the fireplace flue. As the last bit vanished Meg's host went limp.

"Bobby call 911!" Dean ordered as he and Sam rushed to untie the demonless Meg from the chair. "It's going to be okay." He said and nearly dropped Meg as she let out a weak scream as he felt how damaged she was.

Christina had already placed a pillow and cleaned off the couch allowing her brothers to set Meg on the soft couch. Sam went over to Bobby as he was still talking to the ambulance . "It's okay Meg," she said gently picking up the girl's hand. "We got help coming."

"One...year..." Meg's voice was soft and weak the three Winchesters could barley hear her. Dean dropped to his knees near her head so he could hear her better. "I was...trapped in my own...body..." tears slowly fell from her eyes and down her cheeks. "I saw...myself...doing horrible things to...to people..."

"It's okay," Dean said trying to reassure the injured girl. "It wasn't you. You were possessed by a demon who did those things to you...Now you're free."

"Dean," Sam said as he walked back and leaned down next to his brother's head. "They're on their way."

"Help's almost here." Dean said. "But Meg we need some help from you. Do you know where our father is?"

"Sunset..." Meg's voice getting softer as the color was draining from her face. "Missouri..."

"What does that mean?" Dean asked but could see that Meg was now fading fast. "Hey you got to hold on." He now regretted allowing his anger cloud his judgement on what that demon had made this girl do.

"Sun...set..." Meg said her voice getting weaker before her body sagged on the couch the girl's eyes growing dark as her life left her body leaving behind the empty broken shell.

Nobody in the room spoke as they knew what just happened and they stood up. They all silently looked at each other before they turned and looked at Bobby.

"Go ahead and find John." Bobby said his eyes softly looking at the corpse that now lay on his couch. "I'll be okay here."

"Are you sure?" Dean asked seeing as Christina started to head to the door while Sam stayed and looked up at Bobby. "What are you going to say to the authorities?"

"Don't you worry about that, boy." Bobby said looking at Dean. "Christy there knows I'll be okay. Besides I'm the king at making excuses. Go."

Dean nodded and after slapping Sam's shoulder and the two left. When they walked down to the impala they saw their sister staring at a large atlas that she had opened on Dean's hood. "Where did you get that?" He asked when she climbed into the back even though he had one in his own car but nothing that nice looking.

"In one of my old cars." Christina said as she continued to look at the map which Dean just realized that there had been small printed words, stars and other symbols that he knew weren't in the atlas. "There's a river just the other side of the Missouri border that's closest here that runs by a river and there was a development that was being built with the word Sunset in it."

"How do you know that?" Sam as as Dean peeled out of the driveway and headed towards Missouri.

"Because that's what I wrote. I took a lot of notes on locations and buildings that might help me in the future. Of course there is a chance of them not being there since this is only five years old...but it's better then going in blind."

Dean and Sam couldn't help but nod at their sisters preparation and they continued their rescue mission of their father.
