This chapter is a bit longer then the others but because it's to try and end the first season with this cliffhanger. I hope you all like what I did and we will be starting season 2's chapters soon. Take care!
Chapter 24
The Impala slowed to a stop on a long dirt rode right next to a slow moving river. Dean slowly climbed out and looked around not seeing anything with the words "Sunset" on anything. All he could see was large trees littering the side and could near the sound of driving cars.
"How accurate is that thing?" Dean asked not trying to sound condescending but could see Christina's body tensing up.
"Like I said back at Bobby's," she said her eyes narrowing. "It's a gamble. Maybe when I wrote this the building never was built or it's somewhere else. Who knows I don't have the ability to see in the future."
The slamming of the trunk broke up the argument that was starting to intensify making Dean and Christina to turn and look at Sam. He was starting to carefully draw a large symbol on the top metal trunk using a white chalk marker that was designed for vehicles while Solomon's book was sitting, carefully opened by a stone, on the trunk next to him.
"What the Hell are you doing?" Dean asked in horror at the audacity of his brother drawing on his car.
"It's okay Dean," Sam said rolling his eyes. "I'm making the trunk a stronghold of sorts so we can keep things safe and to keep things from getting out"
"What do you plan on keeping in or out?" Dean asked seeing that Christina had taken the opportunity to start walking down the dirt road the atlas she had brought sitting on the hood of the car. Dean turned back to look at his brother.
"Well, they want the colt. They're not going to get it."
"The paint though?" Dean asked motioning to the marker Sam had tossed back inside the Impala.
"Don't worry it will wash off." Sam said not looking at Dean. "Hand me the Colt and I'll toss it inside."
"Don't worry I've got it." Dean said starting to walk to where he last saw their sister.
"Who knows what would happen if they get a hold of this colt. It will be safer inside the trunk."
"Hey guys over here!" Christina's voice came from an area right in front of them and they quickly followed the voice to see Christina peering over a large tree trunk at a building just on the other side of a slightly busy street road. "I've found Sunset." she said seeing her brothers walking up.
Dean and Sam looked and was surprised at seeing Sunset Apartments on a large marbled stone surrounded by adults and children alike. "Son of a bitch that's clever." Dean said finally making sense to what Meg had said before they left.
"What's clever?" Christina asked as if Dean was hiding a joke she wasn't getting.
"The demons who have dad," Sam said getting what Dean meant. "Could be anyone of those people or the Demons could be inside waiting for us to come in to rescue him."
"So how do we get dad out?" She asked.
"How indeed. We go inside and the demons could use anyone of those men, women or child to stop us." Dean said then cursed under his breath. "We got to make sure we don't give those Demons that opportunity."
"We need to make sure the we get those people outside so anyone else that's left inside is Dad and those demons."
Dean looked around the area and calculated something before snapping, coming up with an idea. "I got it. But we got to act fast and we need to find a way to get inside to make sure Dad is still safe and nobody will get hurt."
"Alright what's the idea?" Sam asked with Christina turning to give her attention to Dean too.
"One of us will go in and pull the fire alarm. Then we'll have seven minutes for the fire trucks to get here and then we'll snag a few outfits and head inside."
"So who's going to pull the alarm?" Sam asked liking the idea but before either one could talk, they turned around to see Christina striding into the apartment like she belonged. After a few minutes they could hear the sharp sound of the alarm and people slowly began to file out along with Christina who broke from the crowd and headed straight for her brothers.
"That's done." She said with a smile. "Now it's next?"
"We wait until we can get inside. Hopefully we can get a few straggling firemen so we can get inside." Dean said hearing the shrill sirens slowly getting louder down the street.
"Just get two. I'll bring the Impala closer so that you guys won't have to walk far after you two get John." Christina looked up looked up at Dean who nodded and handed over the keys.
"Just don't..."
"Don't worry Dean. I'll be careful. Just focus on getting out with John." She quickly turn and headed for the Impala once the sirens were loud and she figured her brothers would be getting inside the building in a few minutes. She climbed into the drivers seat and slowly turned the engine over smiling listening to the purr she was rewarded. "I know you want Dean, but we just got to move closer as they're getting John." She chuckled with herself as she was talking to an inanimate object but shook her head and slowly moved closer to the apartments but stopped near the back end near the alley to not interfere nor get in trouble with any emergency crew.
As she drove down the street slowly stopping just near the alley she felt something press against her shoulder. She turned to look at her shoulder and there wasn't anything there. She jumped when she heard the sound of heavy footsteps on the metal fire escape and she saw Sam climbing out of the window with John and slowly making their way down the stairs. Christina slowly got out of the car. "Sam over here!" She yelled getting her brother's attention. She rushed to help him as he turned his head nearly dropping John in the process. "Car's over here." She said trying to help her brother take John to the car but as they were walking someone jumped on the back of Sam making John get dropped on Christina pinning her on the ground.
"Sammy!" Dean's scream came near the fire escape. The man that was on top of Sam was starting to squeeze around his neck and Dean could see that his sister was unable to get to him. Both Sam and Christina saw that Dean had pulled out a weapon and on a closer look it turned out to be the Colt. Dean whistled catching the man's attention before letting a bullet loose from the chamber smacking the man directly into the forehead.
It was there that Christina could see the black soul less eyes of a demon before the man's face was relaxed as the Bullet ended the man quickly. Dean rushed over to first check to see if Sam was okay before rushing to her and helping John off his sister.
"You okay?" Sam asked her helping her to her feet as Dean took over putting John in the back seat himself.
"Yeah, I'm fine." She answered as they both quickly left the scene as they were sure the gun going off will cause people to come looking. Dean smiled seeing the keys already in the ignition when he slid into the driver's seat. He quickly started his car and drove off once everyone was in the car.

Christina helped pour salt in the door frames while Sam worked on salt lining the windows of a deserted cabin that was just perfect for the small family to hide out. Dean walked out of the only room and slowly sat down on a chair next to a small wooden table and let out a sigh.
"How is he?" Sam asked not bothering going after Dean for having the colt.
"He's good, still sleeping it off." Dean said setting the colt on the table and opened the chamber and frowned. He had waisted a bullet by protecting his brother but he was mentally preparing for his father to tan his hide. "So we're down to two bullets. So we got to make sure we make these two count."
"Well at least both times they weren't waisted." Christina pipped up tossing her empty salt container in a large garage bag. "But the good thing is we have a least one more to spare in case we miss. Even though we could have more but I'm for one not blaming you."
Dean grinned and nodded his thanks towards his sister even if he didn't quite believe her. "That makes one of you." He said sitting back as John slowly walked into the room and smiled at his three kids. "Dad...how are you feeling?"
"Good...tired but good." John eyed the colt but walked over and gave both of his boys a slap on the shoulder. "Thanks for getting me out of there...even though I said not to bother saving me."
"You're our dad." Sam stated making John smile proudly at his son.
"Well for once I'm glad you disobeyed an order." John walked over towards Christina but froze staring her down. "I got a lot to explain to you...and I know it's not going to fix all that's happened overnight but I at least would like to clear the air."
"Maybe once we get rid of the demon we can start a new leaf...but until then...stay out of my space..." Christina turned to head to the bathroom but stopped and looked back at John. "It is good to see you in one piece, John." She smiled and disappeared behind the door of the bathroom.
Christina leaned against the door just happy to be in a separate room as she was feeling rather uneasy being near John. She thought back to when they had rescued him and he landed on top of her she could feel something off with him and she couldn't express those concerns as she didn't want a fight with her brothers. She closed her eyes as she felt a headache slowly spread behind her eyes and she tried to focus on why she felt uneasy with John. But when the lights began to flicker inside the small room she rushed out and saw her brothers and John up and ready for a fight.
"Give me the colt, Dean." John said his hand outstretched his eyes focused on the window.
"You would be mad." Dean said picking up the colt and holding it against his leg trying to keep the colt as close to him as possible. "He wouldn't tell me good job son...he would want to ring my neck on wasted a bullet. Who are you...what have you done with our dad?"
John's face turned and looked confused while Sam and Christina looked at each other at what was happening.
"Dean, I am your father." John said his voice raising to keep himself from getting shot by his son. "Now give me the colt. I know what's happening. The demon's here and is getting into our heads."
"You know he's right. Something is wrong with you." Christina said finally catching on to what was going on. "I couldn't put a finger on it back at the apartment or on the way here."
John looked shocked at the sudden betrayal coming from his daughter and turned to look at Sam. "Sam, do you believe me?"
"I'm...not sure." Sam said and another flash of the lights flickering and John's face had now twisted into a dark smile.
"Damn you three are good..." Suddenly all three saw sickly yellow eyes replacing John's soft brown ones. "But I'm better." He tossed out his hand throwing all three Winchester siblings up against the walls. He adjusted his arms as he walked towards Dean first who had dropped the colt near the table. "Now it must eat you alive knowing you've gotten this close. You got what it takes to take me out now?" He smiled and slammed his fist into Dean's stomach. "There's something you'd now believe to be your father." The yellow eyed demon grinned and walked up to Sam who had managed to move the colt by sliding it across the floor with his psychic powers making the demon grin proudly despite seeing blood trickling out of Sam's nose. "I can see you've been practicing. How does it feel knowing your own father thinks your a freak?"
"That's not true." Sam growled staring into the yellowed eyes of the demon who had haunted his dreams. "I don't believe you."
"Oh come now, Sam," the demon said with a grin. "I'm inside your daddy's mind. I can hear everything." He could see that Sam wasn't budging even though he could see it in hazel eyes of Sam that rage that would indeed make Sam act on. But something wasn't making the young boy act out. "Very well. Since being inside your daddy's body isn't making you want to act out. Maybe this will work."
The demon slowly turned towards Dean and sneered at him throwing another punch at him making Dean cough. "You that girl you exorcised...that was my daughter." He punched Dean again this time Sam could swear he had heard bones breaking. He looked at his sister who was making progress in getting off the wall which astounded him. "You know that boy you just killed?" The demon said preoccupied with Dean to notice the youngest Winchester slowly making his way. "That was my son! Now I'm going to take you and the girl John never wanted to going to make it even." He moved a clawed hand lightly over Dean's chest and took a step back.
Sam and Christina watched in horror as Dean was raised up the wall as large clawed cuts appeared and blood began to trickle down his shirt. "Dean!" Sam screamed moving his body to feel himself breaking away from the wall. The demon smiled and laughed before seeing Christina moving slowly towards him.
"I can see why John didn't want you." The demon said storming over to Christina and slapping her. "You just cause so much stress!" He slapped her again before grabbing her shoulders and tossing her across the room making her land on the ground hard.
John turned around his eyes closed tight as he faced Sam. Sam realized he was no longer being shoved against the wall and that Dean had slumped to the ground and he had the colt in his hands. He didn't trust whoever was in front of him. He raised the gun but there was no evil grin but instead it was his father's pleading.
"Sam shoot! End it all right now! I can't hold him back! Do it Sam!" John's voice was pleading desperate and in pain. Sam glanced at Dean who lay bleeding in a heap as his sister slowly crawled towards him to assess the damage. "Sam now!"
"Boy you are useless." The yellowed eyed demon said and turned towards Christina who was trying to look for something to stop the bleeding, and picked her up by the neck and slowly lifted her into the air. "You're not really my time or effort, but I'm at least going to enj-"
The yellowed eyed demon dropped Christina to the ground once again and started to violently jolt as he saw the bullet wound in John's upper shoulder. Black smoke filled the room as the Demon, though wounded flew out of the house leaving a bleeding Dean, a coughing Christina, an injured John and a confused Sam by themselves.
"Dad, dad..." Sam rushed over to his father to see that John looked up at Sam with disappointment but refused to say anything. Sam then looked at Dean who wasn't moving and was looking rather pale due to the loss of blood he just gone through. "Christy?" he asked seeing her shakily getting to her feet.
"I'll be fine..." she said looking at John. "But we need to get these two to Bobby's and fast." Sam nodded his agreement and first helped Dean into the backseat while Christina struggled but managed to get John out the door of the cabin before Sam returned back to out John in the passenger seat. Christina worked on once again trying to stop the blood from seeping out of Dean's chest wounds and she drowned out Sam and John's voices as the argument seem to cause pain to pulse through her head.
A flash of white light caught her attention though as it was coming through Dean's window. "Sa-"
The large semi crashed into the side of the Impala before Christina could warn her brother of the impeding accident. The force of the semi threw Dean into Christina their heads colliding with each other before Dean was thrown back as the car rolled. Christina, after her brother smashing into her causing her head to break through the glass had her head smack into the asphalt before her body crumpled into the small foot well of the backseat invisible by outside eyes.
Sam's eyes fluttered open as his body screamed in agony but he was alive. "Dad?" he asked his neck stiff and was unable to move to check him. But there was no response. "Dean? Christy?" Again nothing reaponded back. He reached down and felt the cold metal grip of the Colt as he turned and heard someone walking up to his window and effortlessly pulled the door off its hinges and Sam could see the unmistakable sight of black eyes staring straight at him. He lifted the colt and the Demon smirked.
"Father will get this, Winchester." The demon spoke. A quick blast of black smoke gave Sam enough time to hide the colt in between the seats of the Impala.
"Oh my god!" The voice was frantic but Sam knew it was just the demon's host finally free. "A-Are you okay?"
"Help...please." Sam said and could hear footsteps walking away and the soft voice of the host a few feet away talking frantically on the phone with emergency crews. "Hang on...everyone...please..." Sam said before his head leaned back and he fell into unconsciousness.
