Chapter 25
The crash site was surrounded by police, ambulance, a life flight helicopter and even a few news crews trying to find out what had happened. Sam had woken up by the sound of the sirens near his aching head. He saw people surrounding the area and was working on dragging his dad and brother out while someone was flashing a light into his eyes. "Sir, do you know your name?" A man in his thirties appeared in Sam's vision making him flinch.
"Sam...My family...where are they?" Sam tried to look but couldn't as they fitted a neck brace, out of precaution of course, but it hindered Sam in trying to see their situation. He managed to catch a glimpse of his father being wheeled towards the opened door of an ambulance Sam was heading towards another waiting ambulance. "Wait...my brother and sister..."
"They're being looked after right now sir." His emt said pushing him towards the waiting ambulence.
Sam wanted to make sure his siblings were indeed at least alive but the doors of the ambulance was closed and Sam could see he was with his father who was slowly moving his head trying to wake up. Sam was forced to stare at the ambulance's ceiling fighting back tears with the unknown on how his siblings injuries were. Thoughts of having both his siblings weren't going to make it made him hate the yellow eyed demon even more.

Plain white hospital walls made Christina groan with annoyance as she opened her eyes and slowly sat up. Her clothes were a bare white tee-shirt and her pants were light blue and felt scratchy against her legs. She hated hospital outfits but she was grateful she wasn't in a backless gown. She scratched the back of her head and made her way out to the hallway her bare feet feeling cold against the cheap linoleum floor. "Hello?" She called seeing that nobody was in the corridor. "Hello?" She called again a little louder and waited for a few minutes for a reply.
"Christy?" Dean's voice was coming from father down the corridor and around the corner. Both siblings' feet patted against the floor as they ran towards each other's voices. "Oh thank god you can see me." Dean said throwing his arms around her and pulling her into a hug.
"Like wise...although you're the first I've encountered." Christina smiled up at her brother and then looked around her. "Have you seen Sam or John anywhere?"
Dean shook his head. "I tried to talk to the receptionist but she completely ignored me."
"I have a bad feeling about all this." Christina said as they headed back down the stairs and looked around both feeling uneasy with how nobody seemed to noticed them walking even when the room was full of doctors, nurses and other patients with their families. "Why isn't anyone concerned we're walking about after being in a serious...Oh balls..." Christina said running back up the stairs much to Dean's annoyance as he followed her and saw her at a door her face paler then her shirt and tears starting to fall down her face as her hand went up to cover her mouth.
Dean slowed to her side and turned to see what caused this reaction. His face fell as he could see his sister laying in a bed her face nearly hidden by large pieces of gauze. A tube was breathing for her body and it scared her terribly. She felt Dean's arms wrapping around her as he lead her away from her room and stopped when he saw his own body the next room over. He wasn't as in a terrible shape as his sister but he looked just as bad. "Don't worry...I'm sure Sam's still here."
"I don't doubt it." Christina said softly her body slowly stopping her trembling but she still looked just as scared and pale. "We just need to find where John and Sam. They'll know what to do."
"I second that, statement." Dean said and stood up. He waited for Christina to stand up and they both headed down the hallway trying their hardest not to glance into the rooms with their battered bodies and searched the hospital for any sign of the rest of their family. They only had to search for a few short minutes until they saw Sam's frame walking down the hallway and into a room down on a floor below theirs. "There he is." Dean said running and trying to avoid people even though they weren't being seen. Christina was next to him once they stopped at the open door to see Sam standing next to John's bed who was wearing street clothes.
"They're needing insurance as we never gave them any." Sam said and John nodded reaching into the back of his pants and pulled out his wallet. He fished out a card and handed it out to Sam who looked at the name skeptically. "Hector Afferman?"
"Yes, Hector and his two sons." John said his face falling knowing he would be leaving his daughter out to fend for herself.
"What about your daughter?" Sam asked looking at his father with a mix of confusion and irritation at how his father was acting. "Christy is also fighting for her life and you're acting like she's collateral damage."
"Sam you don't understand what's going through my head." John said sounding a little defeated. "I'll think of something."
"You better, dad." Sam said his voice darkening. "She's important to me and Dean." The two locked eyes before Sam walked off. Dean looked at Christina who turned and left wanting to get away from the person that her brothers looked up to.
"Hey, don't worry." Dean said pulling her into a hug and holding her close. "Dad will find a way to help you out. If it's the money problem the-"
"It's not about the money, Dean." Christina said gently pushing him away. "He doesn't seem to want me." She shook her head and walked quietly back to her room.

Sam pulled out his cellphone and dialed Bobby's number.
"'Ello." He answered clearly waking up and after a distant sipping sound Sam figured he was drinking his morning coffee.
"Bobby, it's Sam. I have a few things I need help with." Sam said trying not to get emotional as he always thought Bobby was someone he could talk to and he knew how important Dean and Christina were to him.
"What happened?" Bobby asked sensing something that was serious. "It's only been five days since I last saw you."
"Well, we got dad back...but..."
"Don't leave me in suspense, Sam. It's not good for an old hunter like me." Bobby was obviously trying to ease Sam's emotions.
Sam gave a quick chuckle before clearing throat. "We got in an accident. We're at the hospital nearby. We're just outside of Sioux Falls. I'll need help towing Dean's car to the yard before we loose it."
"Okay I can show up in a couple of hours. Just hold on. I'll call you when I get there."
"Thanks Bobby." Sam said before hanging up. He slid his phone into his pocket. He walked back to his father's room and leaned up against the door frame. "I called Bobby. He's going to be picking me up so we can pick up Dean's car."
John nodded before handing Sam a small piece of paper. "I was going to call him anyways to see if he could hand me some ingredients." He handed Sam the small list of items.
Sam took a quick glance over and then back at John. "What are these for?"
"Protection." John said with a quick look up at him. "With that yellow eyed demon still out there I don't want anything to happen to any of us."
Sam fought to keep his suspicions but walked out but stopped and looked over his shoulder. "You should see them. Your kids are dying and you need to let them know you still care." Sam walked off letting out a slow breathe out.

Bobby walked into the hospital and looked around catching the attention of Sam who walked up and gave him a hug.
"Thanks for showing up." Sam said looking tired. "It's pretty crazy."
"I can tell. Come on and lets get your brother's car from the impound." Sam nodded and walked with him out of the hospital. But once they were out the tow truck Bobby turned to look at how solemn Sam was. "How bad is it?"
"Bad." Sam said not wanting to sugarcoat anything. "Dad's fine. Got a few bangs and scrapes...and a shot wound but he'll live."
Bobby sensed there was something else and gave him a sideways look. "The others?" As Sam went quiet and tried to look at something else to change the subject.
"They're in bad shape." Sam said with a long sad sigh. "Which just reminds me, Christy doesn't have insurance to cover her. Dad doesn't have a policy to include her."
"I'll take care of that." Bobby said his voice getting quiet.
Sam glanced over at Bobby and saw that the older seasoned hunter was fighting tears which broke Sam the most. He only hope that his father could feel the same way in case he looses his only siblings.
The drive to the impound lot was almost uncomfortable as Sam didn't want to say anything that would distract Bobby. But he knew he needed to be optimistic for the sake of his own sanity. But when he saw the damaged Impala he knew for sure he needed to believe both is brother and sister will come out of that hospital alive.
"She doesn't look like she has much to work with." Bobby said looking at the mess that once belonged to Dean's Impala.
"Yeah the hit was bad," Sam said looking into the popped open trunk and nearly cheered when the false bottom still sat snugly in the floor. But as Sam picked up his backpack to pull out he frowned when he saw his laptop was smashed beyond repair. "But we need to bring this back so that Dean could fix her up when he gets out of the hospital." He watched Bobby look at him with a skeptical look but figured it was smart for him to in deed be optimistic.
"Well it's better there's at least one of us. But I know you're right. If Christy heard I didn't believe she would make it she will never let me down." He smiled when he saw Sam smiling. "But I will have this over at my shop for Dean to fix it up."
"Thanks, Bobby." Sam chuckled. "I needed that." As he continued to look at the carnage of his brother's car it reminded him of the list that his father wanted him to hand to Bobby. "Hey, dad wanted some ingredients. Mind grabbing them for me?"
Bobby shook his head not minding the request and reached to grab the list and looked down at the paper once he unfolded the list then looked back at Sam. "Did your dad tell you want he needed these for?"
"Protection." Sam answered but suspected something when Bobby's face twisted into confusion and he narrowed his eyes at his mentor. "Bobby, what are you not telling me?"
Bobby sighed and looked at Sam. "I'll tell you once we get back to my house." He said motioning Sam to climb inside while he finished hooking Dean's car onto the back of his truck.

Dean and Christina sat watching everyone come and go from their rooms as they meandered through the hospital. After they had for a few hours they saw Sam storming back into John's room and they quickly followed as they wanted to make sure it didn't come to blows.
"Protection, huh?" Sam said reluctantly setting a paper bag onto John's bed. "You're going to summon the damn thing." Sam was hurt and betrayed thinking his father couldn't sink this low. "How could you think of revenge when my two siblings are fighting for their lives?!"
John reached to grab his cup of water but Sam pulled the tray away and pushed it out of John's reach. "I'm going to end all this." John said looking up at Sam. "Don't you want your mother's death be avenged? Your girlfriend's?"
"Not with the cost of my siblings' lives." Sam said his anger getting worse. "Then it won't mean anything if they die for this stupid crusade of yours." Sam growled and John lowered his head in submission not wanting to fight.
"This is needs to end Sam. I have to make sure I can end this." John said his answer vague.
"End what?" John shook his head not answering his son's question. "Dad, what needs to end? Why must you keep secrets?"
Dean and Christina watched back and forth as they could see the anger in their brother's eyes as their father seemed withdrawn.
"He's hiding something." Christina said softly before walk John's side and reached out to gently touch his shoulder not expecting him to turn and look at her direction as she made contact.
"Dad, what's the matter?" Sam asked his anger reaching the boiling point.
"I got to go Sammy." John said adjusting himself to be able to leave the bed.
"No I'm not going to let you sacrifice my remaining family for your stupid vendetta."
"Enough both of you!" Dean said swiping at the cup that was still on the table. The cup flew across the room landing and spilling the water. Dean looked surprised as he looked up at Christina who was impressed. "I full on Swayze that thing." Dean said looking at his hand then back at the discarded cup.
"Well, I got to go." John said finally getting up from his bed. "Thanks for this Sam."
Sam was going to say something but stormed out instead angry and left the room.
Dean reached out to try and grab his father to prevent him from leaving but Christina doubled over onto the ground letting out a scream of pain. Dean rushed over to her and picked her up. "What's going on?"
"I...I think I'm dying..." She looked up at him with tears running down her face. Dean didn't have to second guess his decision as he picked Christina up and raced to their floor. He set her down when reached her room. Nurses and Doctors were surrounding Christina. Dean ran up to see what was going on and could hear the shaky cry coming from the doorway.
Sam stood there his face full of tears as he leaned against the doorframe heartbroken he was about to lose one of his siblings as Doctors continued to try and save his baby sister.
Christina was looking up and could see something that nearly stopped her heart if she wasn't already a spirit. "Dean...reaper!" She screamed making Dean finally see. A ghost shape hovered over Christina inches away from her face.
"Hey get away from her!" Dean screamed leaping over his sister's body and tackled the ghost after which shot him across the floor. The reaper yelled and vanished.
"Dean!" Christina screamed and since the reaper had vanished she felt stronger and rushed to his side. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah? You?" Dean said and Christina nodded quickly. Dean gently knocked Christina's arm and pointed to Sam who seemed to be looking in their direction before he rushed out the door.
