Not long later after that day Ace is enjoying her day at A Charitable Earth when Nyssa comes into her office, "there are people asking for Yaz."
"Must be her parents," Ace sighs and shoots a text off to Yaz as she meets Yaz's parents.
"Ace?"
"Hello Mr and Mrs Khan."
"What is this place?"
"This is A Charitable Earth, those close to me call me Ace, most know me as Dorothy McShane."
"Oh."
"So you know if you have known half of what Yaz has done, how many people she has saved; there would be no way you are treating her like this. Yaz is a wonderful young woman, she has always been lesbian, just like I have always been bisexual." Yaz comes in then, deciding she didn't care if her parents figured out she worked close by. Graham follows close behind.
"What all have you done Yaz."
"So much, though you two don't deserve to know."
"We are your parents."
"I know that." Graham moves over to Ace and they stand there as a unit, "people who have known me for a few months to a few years are more supportive than my own parents."
"We love you," Yaz's mum says.
"Do you?"
"We do."
"Do you accept Yaz for who she is," Ace asks.
"Of course we do, we just didn't react well."
"Well, Yaz came by our flat trying to hold back tears. You broke your own daughter's heart with your reaction."
"Don't forget how upset you were, Graham."
"I hate when those I care about are upset."
Ace rubs his arm, "I know Graham, that is one of the reasons I love you."
"We are trying to get our daughter back home."
"Little do you know, with my job, I am getting close to being able to afford my own place, and may have a roommate soon."
"Really who?" Ace asks to hear this for the first time.
"Someone who respects me, and treats me like a sister."
"You've talked to Ryan," a shocked Graham who hasn't heard from his grandson since the night before he left.
"I was in Kate's office when he checked in last."
"Oh," Graham who misses Ryan more with each passing day and not talking to him. The main thing he has been keeping him happy is the woman next to him.
"See, your grandson doesn't even want to talk to you."
"That is it Mrs. Khan, you haven't been disrespecting your own daughter, and you judge Ryan and Graham's relationship, those two are close. When Graham and I were getting to know each other, they would talk every night."
"What happened?"
"Mr. Sinclair is on a special assignment, follow me across the street, you need to see some of the wonderful things your daughter and her friends have been doing in protecting earth," says a woman in a black pantsuit with a short haircut as she enters the building that her good friend owns. "I am Kate Stewart, your daughter's friend and boss." Kate exits the building as quickly as she entered it.
Yaz turns to Ace and Graham, "you two stay here, have some time away from the fireworks," Yaz leaves as Ace faces Graham and takes his hand.
"I hope Ryan gets to call you soon."
"Me too, I can't remember a longer time that we haven't talked. Talking to you every night has helped though."
"I'm glad, your happiness is important to me."
"Yours is important to me too."
"Then come with me," Ace, still holding his hand, brings him to her office, "I haven't had my kiss yet."
"We can fix that," Graham letting go of her hand brings both of his hands to cradle her face and as their lips meet they start to kiss. Ace wraps her arms around Graham trying to bring him closer.
"My god you two get a room," Neeka entered Ace's office, says exasperatedly.
"I believe we are in a room, Neeka," Ace says, breaking her kiss with Graham.
"I heard Yaz was here."
"She went back to UNIT Neeks."
Trying to hide her disappointment, "oh." Ace looks at Graham who gets the message quickly kisses Ace and leaves.
"Is someone catching feelings?"
"I don't know what you mean?"
"Neeka, I think you do, like I did when everyone was telling me that I liked Graham."
"The two of you from what I understand had an immediate connection."
"We did, but you and Yaz seem to have been spending some time together."
"We are, I assume you know that because Yaz is living with you."
"She is, there have been times Yaz has been coming home when Graham and I are sharing a goodnight kiss."
"Yaz is just a friend."
"For now, I haven't seen the two of you together since my dinner party last month, but I have a feeling that will change anytime."
"You just want everyone to be happy, Aunt Ace."
"I always want that."
"I know, you are also happier than usual. Not that you weren't happy before."
"I know Neeka, yes I have been happy for years, but now it's different."
"You have someone to share the happiness with now."
"That I do, have you talked to anyone about your growing feelings for Yaz?"
"Adric."
"Good."
"Did you talk to anyone when you started to like Graham?"
"Your mums a little bit, until the teasing started. Your mum, Nyssa, saw us the most with Graham visiting me here when I worked here. When working with UNIT we snuck away and still do, for lunch."
"I know you two have lunch here a lot, considering how often I walk it to see the two of you kissing."
"I guess I should make a sign so you don't have to see your aunt making out with her boyfriend on a regular basis."
"Or."
"One thing many appreciate about A Charitable Earth is that we don't work like a normal business or a charity."
"You just want any excuse to kiss Graham," Ace blushes at that knowing it's true.
"My door is always shut when he is here."
"I know."
"Though he went back to UNIT for the day, saying that we should also get back to work."
